Pallas Athene

This is a gorgeous feminine scent for fruity, citrus, floral lovers. It's very sophisticated. OMG its stunning. I have had well over 200 fragrances that ive purchased in the last 2 years and this is one of those quality ones that has knocked me sideways. I had a small sample delivered and immediately went online to purchase a full bottle. I haven't regretted spending that money for one second, which was no mean feat here in Australia as this is hard to get and more expensive here than the rest of the world. The sillage on this thing is divine and the compliments and curiosity that it garnered was striking. This is just as good as Triumph of Bacchus, and should be at least 4.5 out of 5 here on fragrantica rather than the 3.3 whatever it is at this moment. Some people obviously have no taste or class. People have compared this to Delina from PDM...it has rose yes, and it has a touch of tarte from the berries, but I'd say it's more the jammy type rose like Atomic Rose by Initio. Totally different scents though, and Pallas is a lighter fresher scent than both of the others. I have all these fragrances. This will sit in my top 10 perfumes for life. ### Just gotta say the glass bottles Argos chooses to use are some of the classiest creations on this planet. The art work representations that grace the front of the bottles are simply masterpieces and anyone who loves to display their bottles will fall in love with these. Their just divine. And very tactile. When your spraying these, you feel like your holding something very special. ❤️

I want to start off by saying this is a stunning fragrance. I the initial spray is juicy, fresh, floral, and the slightest bit spicy. I get mostly fruity and peony in the opening. As it sits I find the rose and amber/vanilla start to become more predominate. I think this is a beautiful scent that is feminine but not unwearable by men. I actually find this to have some similarities to Delina by PDM which I was surprised to not see anyone else say when I was combing through reviews. My only issue I’ve had with this fragrance so far is the longevity and projection. I’ve always read that argos is known for its lasting power and so I expected this to be similar. I’ve worn this a few times now and find it fade after about 3-4 hours and never have too much of a sillage. At the price point I would expect both of those attributes to be more robust. I think this is a very underrated scent from Argos, and maybe I’m just going nose blind to it. Overall, it is definitely worth a smell at least for the initial spray which is undeniably gorgeous.

The 3.75 review score here is a SLAP IN THE FACE of such a beautiful rose fragrance. And I can't stand the way that 75% of perfumers use rose in their formulas. Christian has solely reverse-pivoted my mind on rose fragrances. ALL of his creations are beautiful; and I own all but 2 (Nemean Lion & Pour Femme, but coming soon). This is a intoxicating floral...with the rose/peony/iris comingling nicely with the vanilla & mysore sandalwood. On my skin in the drydown...this combination of notes standout. And I absolutely love it! My scent bubble is impeccable. And as of this moment, its been over 8hrs & still going. Fresh, floral, bright, fruity sweet, vanillic-soft woody. EXCELLENT 10/10 all around. Simply because as a non-rose fragrance wearer...all of Christians rose fragrances made me a believer.

Athena, was born as an adult from the head of Zeus, a strong, intelligent, wise and last but not least beautiful woman. Her complete and rare beauty is celebrated in this perfume. Before smelling it, look at the related painting: Pallas Athena by Klimt. The opening is strong and decisive, with fresh and slightly acidic accents, but the heart becomes something exceptional: flowery, with a jasmine so realistic that it literally left me enchanted. Jasmine, a fragile flower but with such a strong smell. A symbol for all the women. Iris can be perceived and is wonderful, in short it is a fragrance that is among those that I adore, floral yes, not like a princess, but like a warrior. Beautiful, I love it. On the wish list.

Originally sampled this for myself as people described it as a good unisex but my girlfriend emptied it the moment she smelt it. For me personally it's to sweet but I can see a man wearing this on certain occasions. Sweetness kinda seems to be Argos their signature since most of their fragrances I've smelt were sweet, not in an overpowering nose piercing way though. Argos definitely know their stuff and manage to make even the extreme sweetness smell perfectly blend and smooth, like on this one. Anyway concluding this reviews pallas athene is a definite masterpiece and I love the smell, I can see myself wearing this but it has to be a very specific occasion. Smell 10/10 Longevity 8/10

Best rose fragrance if you ask me. Perfect blend, everything is nicely balanced between the sweetness and freshness of the flowers. Just incredible. Also wearable for men in my opinion because its not overly sweet. I also own hibiscus mahajad but this one beats it for sure. Maybe not in performance but the overall smell is more smooth, easy on the nose but still powerful enough so give that wow factor. As always, sample before you buy. But I'd say this is a pretty safe blindbuy.

I’m so upset at the -ve bombing Pallas Athene has received on fragrantica from people who I believe did not try the fragrance... the 3.45 rating is a far cry from how incredibly it smells! It’s a fruity floral and it smells AMAZING! It also smells smooth and well blended . It creates a strong cloud around you.. your scent trail will hypnotize people. Gosh I love this juice. The bottle the presentation.. the everything! Well deserving of my first fragrantica review.

I really don’t get why the low rating. It smells good. This definitely leans feminine rather than unisex. The picture I get from this is a very playful but seductive woman. You know the kind, the one that laughs at your jokes and playfully slaps your arm while laughing type shi. The prominent notes on my skin is the red berries and rose. Cherry cola. For yall ladies rocking this, slay.

Feel like this got review bombed or something, but because this is an AMAZING fragrance. Beautiful red berries and soft florals. Scent stays pretty linear, but is such a gorgeous and high quality combination. Performance is fantastic (strong sillage and long staying power), no qualms at all. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys berry + floral frags.

I can’t believe this fragrance doesn’t get more love. I’m a gourmand girl & not the hugest fan of florals, but this is beautiful. My SIL was wearing the sample I gave to her, & I fell in love & immediately purchased a full bottle for myself. It along with Birth of Venus will stay in my collection.

The rose is gorgeous and perfectly balanced with cherry and amber sweetness. Creamy and powdery. The combo of rose and iris is just lovely.

Rose, citrus, fruity, floral slightly powdery. Feminine. 9.5/10.

This one is so underrated!! Absolute gem

I have wanted an Argos fragrance for a while now, been searching forever and I stumbled upon Pallas Athene on Facebook, verified that it was authentic and everything. After reading the notes here and the reviews it is a female LEANING fragrance for me, see, I think it depends how you want to interpret this, it's a rose heavy, red berries, sweet vanilla scent. As a female if you like overly sweet floral scents, go for it, as a man I would recommend other fragrances from the house but I can totally see any men wearing this, including myself. I think of the scent, as a previous review has put it, "a gorgeous woman was hugging me" and I completely agree. Now to how it smells like, the opening is very VERY spicy rose, not synthetic but just like getting a huge bouquet of fresh roses and nose diving into it. As it dries down the rose stays prominent but it settles down to a nice sweet sensual vanilla mixed with red berries with a hint of iris and amber. It lasts quite long on me it lasted about 9-10 hours easily BUT the projection after about the 6th hour starts to become more intimate but noticeable.

I just received my full bottle of Birth of Venus and got a sample of Pallas Athene. Initially I loved this one more than the birth of Venus, but testing it again today .... all I smell is the rose and I’m not keen. I don’t like rose scents normally, I’m more into gourmands and sweet perfumes. So I’ll have to come back to this one and test it on its own for a bit longer. Undecided what I think of it now. These perfumes in general are such high quality and having received my full bottle from Argos, they really go out of their way to put such a massive effort into all stages of presentation and packaging! I’m completely blown away! I feel as though I’ve just received a precious gift from an ancient Greek god, along with a beautiful wax sealed envelope. I mean.... WOW! These are collectors items, not just perfumes. I’m speechless! They are pricey but absolutely worth every penny.

Pallas Athene Argos (Sniff Party) I really like this one, like really. Fresh rose, fruity with powdery fragrance. sweet in femme way and very modern. ... But it just don't justify the high price label.. I can put this as high as Rose des vents. The beautiful powdery rose in femme way. I would personally go with Enigma by Roja (the powdery floral with femme quality). But it has a little more vintage and uplift than Palla Athene for formal contact. This is easily lost in sea of high-quality femme fragrance. But this is def such a great choice, I suggest you to try. 9/10

Tested my Pallas Athene samples this weekend. It’s listed as unisex, but their own sample insert said, “... seductive and FEMININE fragrance.” (Posted sample insert in Fragram) I think it’s definitely unisex, leans a smidge more feminine. Nice, complicated but strong rose fragrance, too strong for summer (to me.) I wouldn’t wear this in hot weather. So at this price point I think I’ll pass for now, plus the dark orange juice stained my white cami (undershirt.) HEY! When is Birth of Venus going to be uploaded to this site?

Holy fruit. Almost like a feminine section to a fragrance store or 90% of Bath and Body Works. I quite like it; the fruity smell dissipates after initial spray and kind of morphs into a warmer floral vanilla scent. Not something I’d reach for daily but could be something I’d wear in the warmer months of spring to mix things up. 3.8/5

This is really beautiful and well blended. The violet and berries blend beautifully with the sweet rose. Unfortunately for me, I think the hyacinth and Iris start to go dusty on my skin in the drydown. This a great crowd friendly niche that is appropriate year round. Elegant, as with most Argos offerings, and office friendly.

Fresh, sweet and fruity, a bit on the feminine side in my opinion. A good scent although it's a bit too sweet to my taste that it didn't eventually win me to get a bottle home. Average projection, good sillage and very good longevity on my skin.

very feminine and very sweet - I do think there are other fragrances that pull off what this is trying to accomplish. however in its own right this is very well done and its fresh sweet rose with some hints of candied citrus. very good overall.

Realistic warm slightly powdery floral dry down. It’s very pretty, makes me think of a bed of flowers during a hot summer day. Also makes me think of souther European countries. It does not smell like delina, this is its own beauty.

Yet again! I don't think this is a bad perfume at all, however just gazing at the sample vial beforehand I found the colour of the juice inside, alarming, If it was sweets or pop, I wouldn't let my kid have it as it resembles the crystal meth or PCP of E numbers and sugar. This one, like the achingly sweet Triumph of Baccus is syrupy and clumsy in construction not lacking depth, or familiar perfume nods or even creative compositional interest, but feels, claustrophobic for me. The opening is bonkers, a mixture of toxic fruitiness and heavy, heavy ambered florals, to say this resembles flowerbomb is bizarre! Then it starts to get this vague resemblance to Noel au Balcon by ELDO, this is reasonably shortlived because the closeout is a similar strawberry shortcake/dolls head (see Triuph of Baccus again) and vanilla musks which is nothing like the honey and stewed fruits of Noel. Maybe this mellow floral/musky smooth drydown is perhaps what's giving the Flowerbomb energy? I dunno? So what I'm saying is this this has progression and depth, these are clearly uncotiously (over)concentrated EDP or Parfum concentrations made to be as thick and present and luxurious as possible but in trying to turn up to 11 they end up being about a 6.5. Now I have a feeling that many of these are cookie cutter, off the shelf formulas from somewhere, mildly modded and then unleashed through this Lux Niche angle, which I thought I'd find gawdy and corny n such but I actually like the art chosen, the look of the product is good and the marketing spiel not too cringey. This is not really my thing but it's alright.

Finally got to a store to test Argos fragrances. Loved several of them, and ended up hesitating between this and Love Triumph Over War, but for the springtime Pallas Athene was the winner. I'll be back for more, their fragrances are amazing. Pallas Athene is a very fruity, happy scent, perfect for warmer weather! More fruit than rose in here, but the rose is always noticeable. Great longevity, moderate-strong sillage but not obnoxious. IMO very feminine. Caution because the juice may stain clothing. Edit: I ended up gifting it to a friend. Too much fruit, not enough rose for my taste.

It's not like Delina and for me, it's not on the same family even. Delina is a creamy floral rose. This is more complex and, IMO - overly floral. Powdery floral. I get the iris, rose, peony and sandalwood (and amber?). I got the vanilla after about 4-5 hours on my skin. It's nice but not enough to make me buy a full bottle. (Its summer from where I tested it btw, and it's very hot - 32-34 degrees outside)

Smells like fresh red berries, and when I mean fresh I mean fresh off the vine, mixed with rose and a bit of powder almost like Orris root because of the earthyness

A fully opened heritage rose that you're smelling under the midday sun. There's a powdery quality that puts me in mind of vintage Oil of Olay or Avon lotion. It's very Scarlett O'Hara being coy on the verandah with roses blooming on the trellis. An elegant feminine floral, but one that's too linear for my taste. Sillage and projection are high end of moderate, longevity on my skin is fine at about 5 hours.

This perfume is like an extremely sweet syrup, the floral scent is also gentle, but the sweet smell of red berries almost overwhelms everything. I really hoped it would surprise me but no, it just hangs around like that all the time. Fortunately, I got to try the sample, the only advantage is that the fragrance lasts for 2-3 days. and that 2-3 days drydown smell is very pleasant lol but not worth the price.

This smells very similar to “Into The Night” by Bath & Body no I'm not saying it smells cheap its very nice, more refined just the same scent profile as BBW floral, juicy red berries, creamy, slightly powdery, and ambery . I'm definitely going purchase both of them because I know it will smell 💣 together 😏👌

Pallas Athene Argos is about warmth, wood, flowers. It is not sweet, not fresh, but cozy. It opens well on the skin. It is not loud, it is without a distant plume. It lasts approx. 5 hours The liquid is bright orange. I'm afraid that it can stain clothes.

Love this scent. Can't speak on the lasting power because have not given it a full wear. But will update once that happens. I have a 30 ml. I paid 165.00 for it and I feel it was worth it so far. Again I have to report back when I do a longevity test.

Love the berry, floral, slightly vanilla opening I get on this. The balance of all three is wonderful, but as it dries down on my skin it becomes extremely fruity. Thought this would be up near the top from Argos, but the dry down is not for me.

I just sprayed a full 2ml sample all over myself, and I feel l like a gorgeous woman was hugging me. The blend of floral and fruity notes gives it a distinctly feminine feel, making it lean more towards the feminine side rather than masculine.

To my nose, this is very reminiscent of Roma Passione. They’re definitely siblings. It’s fruity, it’s juicy, and it’s sweet. It’s a jammy rose that is not particularly sophisticated, but who cares? It’s fun and girly.

I got the Argos sample pack and there’s something in the DNA of this house that doesn’t mesh well with my skin chemistry. It turns musty. Like someone sprayed a pretty floral perfume in your grandmas attic.

Absolutely gorgeous, a beautiful blend blended beautifully. I’m so impressed by this one. Now I must try their other creations. Not like any rose perfume I have had the pleasure.

Overwhelming note of powdered sugar. Doesn’t smell like Delina but has that same overall ‘vibe’. I’m also getting something vaguely marine, a la Hibiscus Mahajad.
