With the purchase of Triumph of Bacchus (TOB), my journey of fragrance exploration has just taken an interesting turn. Unlike the many knowledgeable people who leave reviews here on Fragrantica, I'm still feeling my way, so forgive me if my thoughts on this fragrance lack depth and insight. Like many of my age, I started out with Brut and Old Spice as a teen back in the 1970s and then progressed in typical fashion to Aramis, Eau Sauvage, Antaeus, etc. In other words, the usual, relatively safe options. And apart from a few fragrance gifts and random purchases over the subsequent years, I've pretty much stuck with the old favourites. It's only in the last few months that I've become truly interested in fragrances. Where do I start with this, then? Well, I appreciate that the primary interest is the fragrance itself, but other factors inevitably play a part too. One such factor is presentation and, oh my, Argos has definitely got it right in my opinion. It might be shallow on my part, but there are a number of fragrances that might be wonderful, but I won't entertain buying just because I do not like the look of the bottle. No worries there with TOB. It arrives in a box that has been elegantly wrapped and tied with gold ribbon. Its box is simple, but classic, embossed with gold writing and logo. Along with the box comes a sealed envelope with a card inside thanking you for your custom. Opening the box feels like an event, something special. Things get even better with the bottle; it's presented as a work of art. Not wanting to be too gushing and non-critical, I could say that it's perhaps a tad too opulent, but I think it works. Now, before buying this, I read many of the reviews here and watched a few on Youtube. While I find reviews interesting as an initial guide as to what I might like, I appreciate that they can only offer so much in terms of what is useful. After all, we have differing tastes, our sense of smell differs, and fragrances work differently on each person's skin. That being the case, I've made it a policy to blind buy fragrances I've not experienced before. It's a risk and sometimes a costly one, but I feel that it's a great way to discover fragrances that I might not have considered if I'd just tried a small sample. In doing this, one thing I've noted is that my first impressions of a fragrance, even after wearing it a week or so, can be negative, but as time goes on my attitude to it can turn positive. This blind buying policy of mine may change in time, but for now I'll stick with it. My reasoning for buying fragrances is not for the purpose of gaining compliments or smelling attractive, instead it's all about experiencing new fragrances and learning, so if there are a few duds in the collection, then so be it. Some have said that the opening is reminiscent of cherry cough syrup and yes I smell the similarity for the first few seconds, but it soon calms down and when it does the green apple comes in for me. I also get saffron spice and rum, both to a lesser extent. Due to my lack of experience, I'm sure, I completely miss the listed middle notes, and after 30 minutes or so the overwhelming impression is of tobacco, with a fruity twang sitting lightly above it. Although I've never tried snuff, I imagine that the smell is not far removed from that of TOB. In fact, the tobacco dominates so much for me, that it makes my nasal passage tingle. I used one spray on my chest 5 hours ago and it has hardly diminished at all. It has incredible staying power, making me cautious about over spraying it. I'll be using it sparingly. I like this fragrance a lot and I suspect that might even turn to love in the weeks to come. Perhaps the only slight downside is its lack of versatility in my eyes. I'd never wear it in the summer or spring and I don't see it as a daytime fragrance either. It's one that will come out for special occasions, when I want to make an impression. My advice then is, if you want to move away from tame, nice, generic fragrances, and you are keen to experience something a bit different, then you might want to give this a go. UPDATE 1: Had this a few days now and I'm starting to love it. Even just one spray lasts incredibly well on skin and even better on clothes. Used wisely in the right setting, this can be perfect. UPDATE 2 (30 Dec 2024): First opportunity to wear this fragrance to a party last night. Used three sprays. Two "You smell lovely" compliments. I never buy a scent in the hope of getting compliments on it, but it is nice to receive them. ToB has definitely evolved from when I first tried it and I've now elevated it to my "love" category. When I first used it a couple of weeks ago it seemed a bit harsh on the opening, but that has mellowed a bit. What I really like is that after a little while on my skin, to my nose I get warm apple pie. Today marks the beginning of my journey with the house of Argos. A unique tidbit: Argos Fragrances is based in Dallas, Texas (my home state), and its founder, Christian Petrovich, is an actor with ties to Hollywood (rumored to be one of the 300 Spartans in the film 300). Setting off this exploration is their most popular fragrance, the veritable hype beast: Triumph of Bacchus. Named for the Roman god of wine and revelry, this scent promises an experience steeped in luxury and excess. Does the fragrance live up to its opulent pedigree? Let's get into it and find out. Opening: The opening is fruity, warm, and sweet. The primary notes I get are white peach, tobacco, green apple, and rum, with the most prominent notes being the white peach and tobacco. The white peach immediately projects from the skin as a bright, juicy, and sweetly photorealistic fruit note. While peach is often categorized as a feminine note, its presentation here is expertly balanced, avoiding any overly saccharine or "girly" associations. Closely following the peach is the tobacco, which introduces its distinctive warm, herbaceous, and subtly sweet accord. This tobacco is similar in tone to the intensity found in Mancera's Red Tobacco, but it possesses a notably more natural and appealing richness. Up next is the green apple and rum. The green apple adds more supporting fruitiness, but with noticeably more tartness to it, evocative of a Granny Smith apple. Lastly, the rum lends a warm, sweet, boozy dimension in the background, anchoring the opening with a masculine depth. Dry Down: The dry down remains sweet, warm, and fruity. The primary notes I get are white peach, tobacco, vanilla, and rum, with the strongest notes being the tobacco and vanilla. The tobacco is still a highlight in the dry down, maintaining a boosted dose of the warm, sweet, and natural accord from the opening. It is harmoniously joined by the vanilla note, which has emerged to provide a creamy, gourmand sweetness. This is followed by the rum and white peach. The rum remains a noticeable supporting element as a mellowed and smoothed-out version of its boozy and sweet accord from the opening. Lastly, the white peach has receded to the background, but still provides noticeable whiffs of its juicy, fruity sweetness. There are also lingering touches of green apple, as well as hints of a deep, balsamic amber. Performance: The initial projection within the first hour is very strong and can easily fill a room. The sillage matches that intensity with a dense and sweet scent trail. After about three to four hours, the projection was hovering around six feet, and the scent trail was still easily noticeable. After about eight hours, the projection was still holding on at around three to four feet, and the scent trail was lighter but still noticeable. The fragrance ultimately provides an impressive longevity of at least 12 hours before becoming a skin scent. When to Wear: Triumph of Bacchus is an undeniably fall/winter fragrance that is best suited for evening wear. This is not a fragrance for casual settings; its rich, commanding, and heavy profile makes it an undeniable knockout for special occasions like date nights or formal occasions such as weddings or black-tie events. Because of its heavy-handed nature, it is definitively not an office-safe fragrance. Blind Buy: I would not classify Triumph of Bacchus as a safe blind buy, as it caters to a specific, opulent taste profile. However, if you enjoy heavy, sweet, tobacco fragrances like Red Tobacco or the complex richness of fragrances like Parfums de Marly's Carlisle or Hugo Boss Bottled Absolu, Triumph of Bacchus is absolutely worth sampling. Final Verdict: From the first application, I could discern that Triumph of Bacchus was something truly special. The warmth of the tobacco and rum, the luminous fruit notes of the peach and apple, and the sweetness of the vanilla and amber all blend beautifully to create a deep and opulent experience. It synthesizes the best characteristics of fragrances like Carlisle, Boss Bottled Absolu, and Red Tobacco, adds a masterful fruity top layer, and delivers a richer, more saturated result. As anticipated, performance is exemplary, projecting commandingly, leaving heavy scent trails, and lasting long enough to easily exceed a full workday and then some. As far as tobacco fragrances go, this is one of the finest I have encountered, and I will definitely be procuring a full bottle of either this version or the new Extrait. A while back I bought Charuto Mysterious Tobacco from Paris Corner, I hardly ever buy from dupe houses, but I'd heard so many good things about Paris corner, so bought about 10 different fragrances at once, I gifted some and kept some as air and laundry fresheners (I'm a bachelor!) and I'd bought Red Tobacco a few years ago and remember it choking me out so sold it, but had a fond memory of it As of late came across Charuto Mysterious Tobacco and was using it on my laundry so decided to buy the real McCoy as was growing very fond of the scent. What I've got to say is this is pretty identical to Charuto Mysterious Tobacco as can get, only difference is the much higher grade materials and that it actually lasts, I think (CMT laster about 90 minutes). If I had never come across CMT and had only tried this, version, I'd have said that it was extremely unique, which it is, even though RT came out before this, I still say this is more unique, or treads differently, that's just my own opinion. I don't think there is much to add other than it's very brilliantly blended, similar to the only other American house I've smelled (Mind Games), but I can't help but think if this was French, the price here in the UK would be lower than it is (I think it's currently £185 for 100ml), not that a high price tag means much these days except maybe exclusivity and more Artisanal and more rare raw materials, this one's merit is it's unique scent combined with great blending and a longevity that is phenomenal without it having any trace of synthetic smelling aroma chemicals. I would like to try more from the house, possibly Sacred Flame, because although I'm late to the ball, if all of Argos's fragrances are this unique, then Mr Petrovich may have a flair akin to that of Mr Al Zoabi (Pana Dora). What else can be said about Triumph of Bacchus that hasn't already. It's like drinking a nice cognac (yes I know its rum not cognac,) wrapped in cozy blanket with a bowl of drunk fruits next to the fireplace. It is a beautiful fragrance with its faults, to be sure, but those do not outweigh the beauty of this scent. The opening is synthetic in the way the apple, peach, and rum mix into a delicate, juicy smell warmed with the amber. It's rich and that's why many are turned away at first sniff. The saffron backs it up to measure the sweetness and ground it (I am a sucker for saffron). Then in comes the tonka, (I don't pick up a lot of patchouli or vetiver, but the earthiness isn't missed). This is where the tobacco kicks down the door and announces itself with real smokiness that isn't cloying or abrasive, as the tonka and vanilla temper it down with a smoothness. This does tend to be where the evolution stops, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. This is a truly good gateway niche with long lasting scent. In optimal conditions it'll last you the whole work day, and it leaves a great trail that doesn't knock people back. Get it on discounters if you can, but Argos' presentation is truly a factor in the price, but sample it first if you don't fw boozy scents. Smell: 9.5/10 Dry-Down: 8.5/10 (the dry down is amazing yet linear, if you are seeking something that evolves like crazy, this isn't it.) Projection: 9/10 Strength: 9/10 Total: 9/10

It took me some time to get my hands on this fragrance, and I managed to get a full bottle at an OK price... Now I have to say that Ive owned quite some unique, luxurious scents before but this... this one stands out so much. It's by no means any insanely crazy experience but the blend of peaches, rum, vanilla and tobacco make for a very nose-pleasing experience. I wore it to a dinner date with my girlfriend and she was complimenting it all the time, had someone ask on the way back to the car what I was wearing too. I sprayed about three to four times at max, even though it's the EDP one that I have. Overall, after about a week of owning it, it is very much a special occasion scent, that's for sure. Sillage is good, the first three to four even the fifth hour, it projects like a beast. Longevity is praise worthy, over 10 hours on skin, and my longcoat has been smelling like it since I first sprayed it on since it caught some. All in all the price is a bit too high, but for the quality I think if you can get it, and have tested it, why not! a solid 8.5/10 PS.: two below me, @hkalnaimi, I don't know what batch you got but everyone I know who owns it says it's a performance beast. Also, the juice color being like that is normal, you could've checked ARGOS's own website where it states that it's normal and changes nothing regarding the scent itself...

First thing I will say about Triumph of Bacchus is the biggest knock on this perfume and this brand is the lack of availability of it's products. From the time I was recommended T.O.B. to the time I was able to purchase a bottle was easily a year. The presentation of Triumph of Bacchus is stunning. The art work on the sleeve, the quality of the materials & the presentation of the inner box, the quality & the look of the bottle and the quality and look of the cap, all stunning....and of course when you press down on the atomizer for your first sprays, you are pleased to be greeted with the resistance of a pressurized atomizer. Everything about Triumph of Bacchus is high quality, this fragrance smell's high quality and niche right from the opening. Rum, pear, apple & saffron blended beautifully. The opening is sweet with what I would describe as a leathery smoothness. For those who like Herod & Naxos, you could describe T.O.B. as the fruity take on Tobacco. The mid notes are clean and woody and the dry down is musky notes, sweetened by vanilla & soft tobacco. I would describe Triumph of Bacchus as a dry, clean airy long lasting fragrance with good projection in the same family as fragrances like Herod & Naxos but very much doing it's own thing, very unique.

im gonna edit my review, after buying it. the first time i smelled it i was in love with it, because it is so unique.It has a feminine, synthetic opening, which is neither bad or good and dries down very beautiful with boozy, fruity tobacco&vanilla smell, and its blended well, but it has its downsides. i really like the way the beautiful, sweet, dry vanilla and tobacco is blended with the boozy rum and it just creates a really good unique fragrance for the cold times, but its kinda cloying and the saffron takes over. and now for the most important part. THE COLOR AND BATCH. the sample i bought was a dark red juice which i loved, it was way deeper, and boozy than the new batch, which i received when i bough a full bottle. the new batch is light yellow, and smells more synthetic, no depth, and way more light, than dark, which if frustrating asf. I have sold my bottle, and its fine with me, but i still like this fragrance as it is. opening: 8/10, too synthetic fruity, but good boozy dry down 9,5/10, just perfect, love it, but only this good if the color is dark red juice projectivity: 9/10 all in all: 9,5/10, beautiful unique, fragrance for the cold times, unless you have a light yellow juice and as always, pls dont blind buy, always sample first

I have been a long-time admirer of Triumph of Bacchus and always appreciated its exceptional quality and performance. However, I recently purchased the new version of this fragrance and unfortunately, I am very disappointed. Compared to the previous version, the new formulation feels noticeably weaker in terms of longevity and projection. Additionally, the scent quality itself seems diminished, lacking the richness and depth that made the ex batch so special. As a loyal customer who truly values this fragrance, I kindly request that you take this feedback into consideration. I sincerely hope the brand can address this issue, as the current version does not live up to the reputation and high standards of the original. Edit: Despite everything, the red liquid is a work of art, while the yellow liquid is like an ordinary perfume. In my opinion, it doesn't even have 50% of the richness of the red liquid. This product is an assassination of the brand's image. I didn't like its syrupy texture. Edit 2: İ bought a new bottle, which have red liquid. You'll never have a true idea about a product until you try the old batch. Trust me. The red liquid is a masterpiece. 10/10

Triumph of Bacchus is brighter and juicier than Red Tobacco on the opening, but the familiar tobacco-amber-vanilla warmth is definitely there. I first started testing out this fragrance around the same time that I was playing Silent Hill 2 Remake, so now the scent might be forever tied to my memory of this game.. The fruity opening has me picturing myself stepping into a foggy Rosewater park or wandering the gardens of the Lakeview hotel (minus the monsters). The sweetness of the white peach and apple fit the scene perfectly in my mind. By the time the tobacco, amber and vanilla fully bloom, I can still smell just a tinge of that fruity opening as well. I wouldn’t say it’s notable enough to justify having both this and red tobacco in your collection at the same time though. I wouldn’t call this a revolutionary scent profile for a perfume, but it’s an enjoyable one - at least for me. If you run out of Carlisle, Arrakis or red tobacco I’d say it’s worth giving it a try in your collection as it will be relatively risk free and will take you on a slightly different path at the start. I think it makes for a more wearable version of those scents on a summer evening

First time i smelled a sample of this all I got was a blast of red fruitiness with some vanilla and slight sweet, smoky tobacco in the drydown. I did not like it at first. I was quite dissapointed as my expectations were high for this one. To my nose it smelled like a big fruity mess, nothing smooth about it. WELL... after a week or two I'll tell you that I couldnt stop sniffing the sample. Something abouth the red, syrupy fruitbomb was so addictive. I ran through my sample and grew to LOVE it. After another week or two I ordered a full 100ml bottle:) If you can get past the initial 30-50min of the opening, this fragrance is beautiful. But you MUST like really sweet and fruity scents in order to appreaciate this. Right now for me, I love the opening as well. In the dry down it becomes more cinnamony, vanillic and a litte smoky/powdery in the best way. This is another mass-appealer. ''Normal'' people love this scent. 10/10. Great scent and amazing performance. FYI: My bottle was light orange color when it arrived, its now dark orange after 4-5 months. Takes some time for that dark red, sexy color.

This smells 90% like Red Tobacco, anyone saying otherwise has a broken sniffer--I have both side by side, and have worn Red Tobacco for years...I know what it smells like. That 10% difference is significant though, as TOB is far smoother, better blended, and with better quality naturals. The opening is all syrupy fruit--grapes, peach, cherry, apple with less spice and smokey woods than Red Tobacco, as other reviewers have noted. The mid and base is where the differences are more prominent; there's a nice tonka-patchouli-vanilla accord thats natural smelling and recalls the big tonkas from the mid-late 2010s (Pure Tonka, Guerlain L'homme Ideale EDP), even Angel Muse as a point of comparison makes sense. TOB doesn't wear nearly as nuclear, which is for the better, this is a dense syrupy scent that could be cloying if it overstays its welcome, but it doesn't. It sticks around just long enough that others will smell you and want to smell more of you. I chose to buy this over Red Tobacco (mainly because I'm on a 30ml max), but I don't regret it and prefer it over Red Tobacco for its versatility.

Not sure why people rank this as masculine leaning... The topnotes of booze, peach and apple last well into the drydown and the sweet fruitiness of these notes really makes this feel appropriate for all genders. The peach note especially evokes femininity for me. This fragrance can be worn by anyone, any age. It's sweet and fruity enough to be youthful but the well rounded booze and tobacco gives it a bit of depth and maturity. The vanilla and tonka are very present and are the main reason the entire composition is so sweet. The rum drenched tobacco is smooth and mild, not harsh at all. I get some similarities with PDM Herod and Red Tobacco here as well. It's in a similar vein. Any notes here that would make this a challenging wear (vetiver, patchouli, saffron, amber) are very well behaved. This is just smooth fruity boozy tobacco from start to finish. Totally unisex, and in my opinion a great date night scent for cold weather. It's not a super complex scent, but it's well blended regardless. Chef's kiss. Get it on sale if you can because the retail price is a bit high.

That said, this isn’t for everyone—it’s bold, complex, and unapologetically rich. Not the safest blind buy, but if you do take the risk and absolutely love it, you have great taste. A true masterpiece and a main staple in my collection. An absolutely well deserved 9/10.

I always dreamt of the day I could own this and make a review and that's finally happening. This fragrance is something else, and despite the notes listed, it's pretty unique Starting off you get a bright earthy yet fruity scent, mainly dominated by the peach and some of the patchouli, it feels almost homely, and really inviting, the kind of scent that just makes you smile. Drying down, that's when the rum and vanilla shows a hint, combining with the leftover peach scent and blending with the patchouli, creates a boozy fruity and sorta gourmand scent, whilst still keeping some of the homely earthy scent. I get some fairly decent longevity on this! sillage however is kinda the drop off with it, it's not amazing. but you're buying this for the scent alone not just the projection. Overall? 9/10, it's unique, nobody else has done it quite like Argos, but if only it lasted a little longer

This fragrance is not for everyone. Some will brutally hate it, some will love it, and for some it many even become favorite scent of all time. And that is all okay, everyone has their own different opinions. I have gotten a bottle of this fragrance on "accident" and I personally really enjoy this one. In the opening you get this beautiful mix of white peach and apple rum. The peach note really stands out to me, and gives it the character. Once it starts drying down, the scent becomes even more complex. It becomes a warm tobacco, vanilla and amber scent, that is really addicting. The performance is crazy, I get around 8-10 hours with great projection. I really enjoy this scent, and highly reccomend everyone to try. One of my favorite bottles in my collection. 8.8/10 *note: this review is based off of the red juice bottles. I have yet to smell the newer batches.

the first time any of you will smell this you’ll be disgusted and disappointed... for about 15 mins. this is smth u HAVE to let develop before giving it a valid opinion. i did so and im so happy i didn’t hate it instantly. smells like my dayquil syrup for those 15 mins, and then it hits some progression that makes it so nice and deep. my friend apparently wore this out and some girl was all over him tryna ask him what it is and now he chiefs it everyday. i can see carlisle a little but i smell a more mature red tobacco + a fruitier tiziana terenzi arrakis. vanilla gets more apparent throughout the deeper ends of this fragrance when it hits a few hours in. 8.92/10 love it

This masterpiece is very amazing i have it and it just blew me away this is one of the smoothes fragrance that i have ever smelled with its opening being chaotic but after you leave it for one hour the fragrance becomes very smooth i don't know how they made the tobacco sent become so harsh in the opening and then dry down to become a smooth amazing scent this fragrance would be the like the father or the big brother of jazz club. This fragrance has much depth to it yet it so smooth probably due to the amazing rum scent in it . An if i where to put it in words this would probably be the favourite scent of the the old Egyptian kings that ruled the world long ago .

Exceptional fragrance, extremely sweet, peachy, very good indeed. Having both - this one and Tobacco Oud from Abdul Samad Al Qurashi, unless I truly make an effort to distinguish between both, in the air they smell extremely similar. Since I acquired first the ASAQ Tobacco oud, I'm not disappointed at all of having invested a little more on this parfum, quality is exceptional, but for what a normal utilization requires, and for cold weathers I would say that the ASAQ is a very safe, super strong option for this family of parfums. It feels perhaps lets sweet than the ASAQ Tobacco oud, for reference purposes.

this is my first niche fragrance and i got into this brand by word of mouth, its now my signature. delivery was great even from the US to the UK. i have tried all the EDPs from the tester set and found out this one is popular for a reason, the brilliant fruity-boozy opening closely followed by a slightly green/woody vanilla that projects really well for a fragrance with no oud or leather. a definite repurchase especially with the customer support. at time of buying, i have managed to get it for 160 pounds from SHOP with a 15% discount from the tester set i got ages ago. a truly 10/10 fragrance from me.

This is far and away the best tobacco vanilla fragrance in the market right now. Truly an incredible wearing experience, a presentation dressed to the nines and a pressurized atomizer to match. This stuff is amazing. Although slightly linear, the fragrance from start finish is a PHENOMENAL tobacco, vanilla and peach that really creates a presence no matter the occasion. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend at least a sample of this but 30ml's for $120 isn't bad at all. Love it, will probably never be out of it, back up bottle on the way. NOSEGASM, I ordered the entire argos line in a sample set, this is the one stood out of the bunch. If you like grand soir but want something with a little more "pizzaz" Triumph of Bacchus would be the one to try first. For a more winter leaning fragrance the top notes of rum, fruits, and saffron Really stand out while at the same time getting a nice warmth of amber vanilla. I ordered a full bottle almost immediately. 10/10 Fragrance with great performance, longevity, and presentation. Almost all of the Argos line is fantastic. 9/10 House. Very High quality smelly liquids going on here.

Wow wow wow, this is so rare smell, ingredients are incredibly pure, I didn’t smell boozy scent like this honestly with unique DNA, this isn’t loud it performs strong yes, but very special calm and light weight, legendary presence and noticeable .. It gives me a vibe of playing soul and rebelled opening with the green apple and rum with the tobacco, layering to middle and base notes, something beyond describing. you can’t go wrong with this, not common .. so hard to smell like I guarantee you, masterpiece at its best This is over rating I can’t rate it sorry..

As a niche perfume aficionado with over 150 perfumes in my collection I can tell you that this perfume is one of the most intoxicating and intriguing perfume on the market. The top noted white peach, green apple, saffron, and rum takes this blend to a whole new level. This is a gorgeous, elegant, and opulent perfume and should never be compared to Parfums de Marly " Carlisle " which is not even in the same league. This is a sophisticated, classy, and sensual perfume that smells like no other. My 3 P's Projection 8/10 Performance 8/10 Price 8/10

Other that the fact that I Iove this fragrance, from the gorgeously sweet-but-not-sickly opening through to the microscopically skanky, musky, vanilla drydown, I have to say I'm somewhat astounded at the comparisons to Red Tobacco. Yes, they share certain facets, but so do domestic cats and Bengal tigers. ToB is far, far more subtle and refined, and exudes class. RT, on the other hand, is like a clumsy adolescent on his first forays into the finer details of female anatomy. A thuggish lout, compared to a 13th generation ninja assassin.

Vale cada centavo, huele excepcional, entre rico, elegante y refinado. Cuando estaba probando mi botella lo hice en la sala y mi novia dijo que lleno todo el departamento estando ella en otra habitación lo cual es punto a favor para mi ya que me suelen gustar los olores invasivos y duraderos. Huele a jarabe de tos sabor cereza y gamuza, disfruto ambos olores así que ésto es un 10 para mi. A mi parecer es una compra a ciegas si te gustan los perfumes dulces pero siempre es mejor probarlo en un decant y tomar una mejor decisión.

One of the best fragrances i've had the pleasure to put my nose on. 1st the juice is PHENOMENAL. I feel like some ppl were paid to write bad reviews cause I cannot comprehend how you could not like this. I get rum, tobacco, mixed with peaches and apples, on a musky/vanilla bed, so gorgeous. The presentation is just out of this world, it last ALL DAY, projects like a beast. This is a 10/10 for me. Plus the creator does everything himself down to the bottle filling. Argos, you will go really far, this is just the beginning. <3

THIS is the fragrance I just keep coming back to. I've already reviewed it below but I'll just reiterate as it's my personal Fragrance of the Year. Immediately warm and inviting, with a cinnamon-vanilla twist that leaves you wanting more. Just an insanely good blend with nothing overpowering as many other fragrances fail to achieve. I've tried dozens of other fragrances, even from more well-known brands (Nishane Ani, Ardent Boadicea the Victorious), but I kept finding myself comparing them to this one. Lovely lovely lovely.

I've never been one for 'sweet' fragrances. This one had me saying out loud 'hoooooly shit'. It is that good. So unique, so well crafted. Yes, you've got the sweetness from the white peach up front, but it's so well blended with the tobacco and rum notes. Longevity and projection are both decent for the category. I've heard some say this can also flex as a summer evening fragrance and I can see why. Given that, I instantly pulled the trigger and purchased after sampling two wears. Top 5 in my fragrance journey thus far!

Following a year of wanting this beauty after smelling a sample, I finally copped full bottle. Sadly, due to a potential reformulation (clear yellow liquid) the fragrance is slightly less sweet, strong, and JUST BARELY not as good as when I first smelt it which is unfortunate. This could be a matter of the bottles age, we’ll give it time and we’ll see. If you like Mancera Red Badaco you will love this. Don’t get me wrong though, this fragrance is DAMN SEXY SWEET YUMMY BIG BOY, and is still my number 1 fragrance EVER.

This is heavenly. So natural smelling so refined. I’m generally not a fan of tobacco fragrances, but this an exception alongside Naxos, and I like this even more than Naxos. There isn’t much of comparison between this and Carlisle, which I’m not the biggest fan of tbh. Carlisle is much harsher, while this is so smooth. The Extrait version is just a more concentrated version and it lasts much longer. The dry down is to die for, sweet warm vanilla. This is above 10/10.

It gives off a very warm vibe. The vanilla is a perfect blanket for the underlying scents of that woody-smokey goodness. Mixed between those layers are hints of floral scents that blend wonderfully together. It's similar to Sacred Flame by Argos but somehow wraps the scents more masterfully. I could see this becoming one of my favorites, especially on colder days / nights as all of these fragrances mix together so nicely and don't feel overbearing. 4.5/5

This is my third review on ToB but im posting this one bc yesterday i got around 10 people either telling me i smelled good or being next to me and saying "damn someone smells good" during my organic chem exam lmao. literally the span of like 3 hours maybe this shit doesn't compare to anything, cop it if youre on the fence you wont ever regret it. also telling someone that the fragrance youre wearing is called "triumph of bacchus" is dope af lol.

It is really expensive but I'd say it is well worth the money. This thing is a performance monster. I put this on my skin in the morning, go to bed, and wake up smelling it on my wrists. Just a few sprays from a tester can fill a small room. The scent is a 10/10 too. So sweet, I love it. The green apple is syrupy and candied, and the rum note is fantastic. It ends up being nice as it dries too. Becomes a bit more powdery but stays just as sweet.

Okay, I have a different question. Why is the brand named after the Greek city of Argos, the logo has a Greek motif but the Egyptian Eye of Ra, and most of its perfumes (e.g. Nemean Lion not) are named after Roman gods? Not to mention the company is based in the US... I love mythology and this drives me crazy. Further proof that the US needs more history lessons. 😄 Btw. Nice perfumes, I would like to try the new Fragrance World Colosseum.

This fragrance is incredibly smooth and addictive, perfect for winter. It's exactly what I wished Red Tobacco would smell like! As others have mentioned, if you enjoy perfumes like Carlisle, Red Tobacco, or Herod, this one is a no-brainer. One of its standout features is the sweet, fruity caramel undertone, which is super inviting and addictive on the skin. I also find this perfectly unisex, a great balance that hits the mark!

I finally got the smell this bottle. Imagine a most sophisticated red tobacco. That's all you need to know. This is such a beautiful bottle and scent. Got it for 30% off and that was good enough for me to get the full bottle. Those hating on this must hate red tobacco. Those who love it will absolutely love this bottle. It's a beast just like red tobacco too. More than 3 sprays and you will choke the room hah.

Deep, rich, sexy... Had the sample almost a year ago and continued on my fragrance journey. Trying various dupes, smelling new fragrances. Now, I am honing in on those that left a lasting impact. Triumph of Bacchus being one of those. This is my night/winter/fall out-and-about fragrance. Not my date-night fragrance, though, this definitely could do the trick. My date night is Oud Satin Mood.

yes there is indeed a difference smell on the newer batches. yes i know what im talking about. the light yellow batches are not as warm and deep as the old red juicy ones. the new batch smells more like a candle, while the red juice was so much better. i have had both and has already left a review a couple months ago. please tag me if you have a red version for sale, ima pay full price

Person below me is just coping :sob: Smelt this in the store and it smells very good, peach lemonade that dries down to a vanilla scent but i cannot seem to pick up the tobacco note. i'll update my review once i get a bottle. Update: this stuff is insane, still can't pick up the tobacco note tho. Very sweet and boozy type scent with great longevity. 10/10

I bought the 30ml size at first I did not like it much but after 3months of having it I definetly love it now. I got many compliments from it. The drydown is amazing also it lasts forever soo when my 30ml bottle is done im 100% buying the full 100ml bottle. Ah and the bottle looks fkn gorgeous. Scent-9.5 Sillage-9.5 Duration-10

Marvelous combination of fruits with booziness enveloped in rich tobacco-vanilla scent profile. It's basically more vibrant Mancera Red Tobacco with a fruity opening and a bit worse performance. The presentation of the bottle and the box is exquisite. Most definitely winter/fall nighttime fragrance - compliment machine.

I don’t love the opening but as it dries down, it is very nice. I think this is the best of this kind of DNA. I like it a lot more than red tobacco. This is what I wanted Boss Bottled Absolu to be. Probably going to get a full bottle. Not rushing it due to the fact that it’s May and this is not a safe for summer scent

This is hedonism in a bottle. It’s sweet, fruity, a little alcoholic, I feel like you can wear this all year round except on hot summer days. Perfect for parties, date nights and for a signature scent. I’d say it leans more on the masculine side but it’s definitely unisex. This is a 10/10 masterpiece.

okay just wow. i didn’t know what to expect upon receiving this, but on the first smell WOW. i’m blown away. this is definitely a fall winter special occasion scent, but DAMN, when i tell you that when you eventually DO wear it, you’re gonna be a damn magnet, for compliments and more. i promise you.

new batch still smells great, it’s just a sweeter, smoother carlisle with an added fruitiness(cough syrup if you’re one of the unfortunate people to make that connection) but i can’t help but feel the loss of the red color has taken away part of it’s identity, and the wow factor of the presentation

I have just got 30ml new re-formulated version (yellow color juce). It is shame on Argos as the performance of re-formulated version is very weak. I love Triumph of Bacchus, however with new re-formulation they just killed it. Do not recomend buying it now, perfrormance is a few hours now.

Kudos to Argos for taking out the red dye so that this can be worn with white shirts and light clothing. That said, I do feel like they detuned it at the same time. It's less smooth, and less sweet than the previous gen sample I had. Hoping that maceration does the trick but buyer beware.

I get that medicinal opening but it’s more tobacco based to me. Because Rayhaan Italia truly have it worse , it’s pungent, so much that I’ll wait 15-30 mins to leave the crib but Baccus is better. The secret is that powdery vanilla dry down my God . Dawg you will smell like a treat
