Club De Nuit Lionheart Man

Oh come on. How can a fragrance this good cost the amount it retails for! Ridiculous. I wanted a few casual fragrances that I can wear as a daily whether I'm at the gym, nipping to the shops or enduring general day to day activities. 😳 I opted for 3 products. Firstly to cover all weathers and temperatures and secondly, I thought it'd be wise to try a more budget friendly version of a couple of expensive fragrances before I take the financial plunge! 1. Afnan supremacy collectors addition to see how I gelled wearing the Aventus style DNA. For the warmer days and gym mostly. 2. Rayhaan Tiger Cal Calone edition. For days when I'm milling about but to test the waters before opting for a product from the Halfeti line, Penhaligons best products in my opinion. 3. Lastly, Club de nuits lionheart man. This was chosen as something fairly generic and casual. a good, dumb reach option for all but the warmest days. So, this review will focus on Lionheart man obviously. Damn, I've spent a fair amount of money across the fragrance spectrum from an exclusive from Boadicea the victorious to Orto Parisi and quite a few bottles from the wonderful Arabian Oud. All of them spectacular in their own way but at a higher cost. Lionheart man; From the first spray I noticed a nice but slightly sharp and astringent combination of notes. A clear combination of the Mint, lavender and Benzoin. Within 10 minutes this is beautifully smoothed out by the creamier ingredients. Tonka, vanilla and honey doing their wonderful, encompassing work. The tobacco is sweet and holds the mixture together gently and subtly without any bitterness that this particular note can occasionally provide. It's obviously a well constructed potion as it all comes together magically and yet each note still individually distinguishable. Is this normal at this price! Yes it's a fairly familiar scent, but for me seems to encapsulate the very best aspects of the better designer efforts combined with the expected strength, blending and nuances of something from a higher tier. I won't delve into all the individual familiar scents as there are many other reviews that have already touched on that aspect. However, will mention one. Penhaligons Sartorial. It's not particularly close but the seam of Honey, vanilla and lavender certainly offers a little touch of the all time great, one of my favourites. Fortunately, this fragrance doesn't fade like it's far more exclusive distant cousin! It keeps thriving throughout the Lionheart experience. Kudos to Club de nuit for achieving something quite delicate that a house like Penhaligons can't seem to manage! Right, let's concentrate on what this specific product astoundingly achieves. It's a super friendly aroma that lets people know you are in proximity, not by shouting but by steadily and unforgettably making its presence known. The mint and lavender offer a clean, classic barbershop style effect that's beautifully tempered by the softer underlying and luxurious, creamier heart and base notes. Very nicely done, it's encapsulating. The honey just tingles away, it's so nicely done! Projection is 5-6 ft easily for 2 or 3 hours, dropping to an arms length comfortably for the same time period again. It'll then remain a skin scent, a noticeable, gorgeous one for another several hours. It's strong, be careful here as although sharp initially it seems to mask the overall power as it settles down. I think another surprise for me was that as it comes together after the initial spritz it seems to ramp up in power. This fragrance will leave a good, solid and alluring trail for many hours from your initial application. To many sprays and you could well be radiating a little too much. 4-6 sprays is probably more than enough for most of us.....maybe 6-8, it's a very friendly scent. Demographic wise I think it's a male fragrance. Sure, if a female wants to wear it then absolutely why not! fill your boots. Interestingly I think this can be worn by anyone from early 20' s and up. Due to its depth I think more a reserved type of man of later years can carry this off without issue just as much as a 20 something going out for a beer or two with his mates. It's a perfume that offers a classic barbershop, fougere experience with a more generic, dare I say designer base, even a few notes that you may find in something a little more niche added into the mix! It's a hard fragrance with something for everyone. It's modern, classic and attention grabbing all at the same time but in an understated, well groomed and elegant way. Bottle, sprayer and packing all very nice and good quality, in keeping with the overall user experience but punching way above it's diminutive price point. Now, I'm as surprised as anyone by the quality of my 3 financially moderate purchases. I'm writing this and seriously questioning my life choices. 😆 You generally get what you pay for but in perfumery that is often not the case, that has become more evident over recent times! Especially when you factor in and compare the abilities, available ingredients and knowledge of the Asian luxury segment compared to the perceived specialism and exclusivity of many higher end marques parading their products as premium. Of course, there are many wonderful niche and luxurious products out there but there's a glaring disparity value wise, when buying the products mentioned in this review. Ok, rant over. 😂 As lovely as lionheart is, I'm going to place all 3 products in a dark, cool place for a while to let them blend and smooth further as many of you out there have advised. In fact, I'm waiting on a delivery of a few more fragrances that I'll leave to macerate, some over the summer and some just in time for hot weather use in a few months. Ready for use in premium condition. So, don't be afraid to swallow a little pride, save a lot of cash and buy a few more budget friendly products. After all, all three purchases still only cost about half of one premium product. You can always swap them or sell them if you genuinely don't enjoy them. I'm very impressed with my experiment so far and proud to have a small, carefully selected and varied collection from across the globe in terms of quality, scent profile and price.

Not exactly a clone of le male elixir, but I personally, like it more. One of the first fragrances I'd gotten, and my first foray outside fresh or clean fragrances. This smells like le male elixir except a bit more tobacco and mint. It's sweet, rich and fairly dark, but not as strongly sweet as you might think for a le male elixir clone though, so definitely worth checking out, especially if you found elixir or the honey in it a little too sweet for you. Scent profile is strongly inspired by the le male elixir, but it is markedly different from it. The mint is stronger in the opening making it a little lighter/fresher and not as rich off the bat, and the tobacco stands out more in the drydown giving it a slight smokiness while still being quite similar to le male elixir, with the honey also toned down a bit. Late drydown isn't as benzoin forward as le male elixir or even le male le parfum actually, the slightly stronger tobacco helps give it a bit more complexity as it dries down compared to the sweetness of the elixir. I do like it a lot, and definitely recommend trying it, however, I would also strongly recommend against blind buying this though as it's not exactly a safe scent profile, I like this quite a lot, you may not. Performance is great, will last you a full day and maybe then some, projection is likewise very strong. 2 sprays is what I usually wear, BE CAREFUL with anything above that as it's really strong and any more can be enough to give you a headache, especially in small, closed places like a car. Some very cold days I have gone up to 3ish when going outside, but just remember this is some pretty strong and heavy stuff so it's not a good idea to spray too much. Value for money is excellent: the fragrance quality is great, smells fairly close to a much more expensive and well-loved fragrance, and the ~2 sprays a day from the great performance means a low cost per day of wearing it.

Absolute Banger - My New Fall/Winter Go-To! Listen, I've tried all the Elixir dupes, and this one is the champ. I was a little skeptical at first—another Armaf clone?—but they absolutely nailed it with Lionheart. When you first spray it, you get this surprisingly invigorating shot of mint and lavender. It's not harsh or synthetic; it's a smooth, cool burst that cuts through the potential sweetness perfectly. This opening makes it feel richer and more versatile than some of its rivals. But the real magic is the dry-down. It becomes this unbelievably warm, honeyed vanilla and tobacco bomb. The sweetness from the benzoin and honey is smooth and creamy, not sticky or cloying, and the tobacco note is just deep enough to keep it grounded and masculine. It hits all the right notes for a cozy, seductive, cold-weather scent. The performance is exactly what the Club de Nuit line is famous for. This thing lasts. I'm talking 8-10 hours easy, and the sillage is strong without being obnoxious. It’s definitely a confidence-booster, and I've already gotten a couple of unsolicited compliments. If you're looking for that amazing, modern, sweet tobacco DNA—the one that smells like the inside of an expensive cigar lounge mixed with a bakery—this is it. It’s genuinely better than a lot of fragrances twice its price. Don't wait for maceration, just enjoy it!

I tested this in a store one spray on the back of my hand. Straight away you get a beautiful beast mode minty lavender. It’s sweet but not sickly sweet.. I left the store and was walking down the street and all I could smell from one spray was CDNLH.. I met my wife a few shops down and the first thing she says “mmmm what’s that smell?” Straight away I knew this was a must have. I bought the fragrance about a week later. I put 3 sprays in for work.. the moment I arrived instant compliment from a female staff member “OMG you smell nice” as she leans in a smells me. All day this smell stayed through my 12h shift. I get home hug my wife “mmmmm is this the new one you bought” as she buried her face into my neck. Day 2: same again 3 sprays arrive at work.. different female staff member says “is that you I can smell?” Me thinking sh!t I’ve over sprayed.. she leans in and sniffs “wow what is that you’re wearing”. I can officially say this is the compliment magnet. Beautiful smell that lasts all day. I have all the CDN and this is certainly one of my favourites

ARMAF is a great perfume house. I was truly struggling to pick between all of the JPG Elixir "inspired" fragrances but the best ones are: ARMAF Lionheart Man (this) Rasasi Hawas Elixir Lataffa Kingdom Neither of these are EXACTLY like the original, nor is the original BETTER than any of these in my opinion. They are all the same species of fragrance with varying stand-out notes. This fragrance has a terrible minty, dusty smelling opening with alcohol (typical of ARMAF) for the first minute or so, yet the dry down after that may be the best out of all of the perfumes including the original. The stand out notes are: Fresh, Honey, Vanilla, Amber. So do not judge the fragrance on the first 1 or 2 minutes, that would be doing it an injustice as it is probably the best or second best one all in all. Projection and longevity are top notch as with every ARMAF fragrance and definitely superior to the original in this regard. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 7/10
