Effects Of Uniq

Black Opium Le Parfum is one of the few perfumes that make me roll my eyes so far back that the whites start to show. It would have been my signature scent if I weren’t on a student’s budget. I save it for dates- often successful ones, coincidentally (make of that what you will) and the infrequent use only adds to its exclusivity. The original is overhyped, overused, and too bright, with the coffee note being too dominant, whereas Le Parfum is deeper, darker, more elegant, and sensual due to the combination of the four vanilla notes. I have been on the hunt for a worthy alternative ever since it came out, but my search proved futile. Enter Armaf’s Effects of Uniq. Reading people’s shared opinions on its likeness to Black Opium Le Parfum, my interest was piqued, and it was on its way to me in two mouse clicks. I almost bolted back home after receiving the notification of its arrival. My anticipation was sky-high, would it give me the same experience others had, or would it be too good to be true? After the initial spray, I was saddened to find that it was the latter. Effects of Uniq’s opening is bright due to the pear and mandarin notes and harsh because of the alcohol. Neither the vanilla, caramel, nor coffee notes were anywhere to be found. Where Le Parfum whispers, this one screeched. I disliked it so much that I vowed never to blind-buy a fragrance again until I sprayed it once more two days later. In true Middle Eastern perfume fashion, the opening was now less bright, less masculine-leaning, and the wafts of alcohol had vanished completely. It made way for the vanilla, caramel, and coffee, turning all the individual notes into one cohesive scent. It’s deeper, more rounded, and creamier, and I expect it will continue to develop further in this direction over time. Is it an indistinguishable twin of Le Parfum? No, but for the price point, it will keep me company during the daytime, while Le Parfum remains my weapon of choice for the evenings.

i LOVE. this. to be fair i’ve never smelt the original but i fell in love with this fragrance. it’s really elegant and mature whilst being nice and sweet, it’s hard to find a good balance between the two. this is definitely more suited to cooler weather. from the bottle: it starts smells almost like yakult, the probiotic drink! with hints of woody and musky notes on my skin: a fresh bottle is definitely slightly alcoholic but after waving my arm around it dies down quickly, i can definitely smell the musk, vanilla and caramel at this point. when you smell hard enough you get the mandarin and orange blossom. it ends up drying down really nice and woody and with patchouli with a subtle sweetness in general i would recommend this to people who want a more feminine leaning unisex perfume, and those who might have grown out of true gourmands but they still hold a place in their heart

#1713 in my “Tour de Fragrance” I have so many caramel dominant scents. My favorite candy as a kid. This is not gourmand sweet at all. Comes closest to Nobile 1942 “Levante”, but if you like Mugler “A*Men”, or the discontinued “Pure Malt”, Fragrance World “Star Men”, Xerjoff "Aqua Regia”, you’ll enjoy this as I do. I also would say if you’re a fan of all the Armani “Stronger with You” scents you probably will like this. For the ladies V Canto has something like this that adds some chocolate to the mix for a mocha latte effect called “Hamartia” that a girlfriend of mine really likes. I think this is solidly unisex. Good longevity and projection. More date wear for cold weather than business wear for me. And for $25 this is a no brainer. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

This fragrance sits somewhere between the original YSL Black Opium and Black Opium Over Red, but with an extra twist that I absolutely love. I went to the drugstore to compare it with Black Opium Le Parfum, but surprisingly, I found it less similar to that one than to the two fragrances I mentioned above. Out of all the perfumes I own (and there are quite a few!), this is the one my partner rated the highest. It's become one of his absolute favorites on me. During my teenage years, Black Opium was my signature scent. To me, this feels like a much more mature and feminine evolution of it. I'm absolutely in love with it, and I know I'll be wearing it a lot.

Just got this in the mail and right off the bat I'm loving it! I don't know or care what the OG smells like because the coffee note on this is so prominent that it ticks all my boxes as a coffee lover! I can also detect the vanilla and some bitter note, but it's only been 15' since I sprayed it on my wrist. If it's true that ME perfumes improve with maceration, then this is a winner for sure. One of my fortunate blind buys! Update: the harsh note that I picked up in the opening has completely disappeared over the past month giving way to this creamy, sweet (but not overly) coffee note. I am so happy! Just wish it lasted a little longer 🤩

I love this one, i've had it for quite some time and i think it is a sofisticated take on perfumy vanilla. Its unissex (feminine leaning) and its good for formal occasions. I could also see this as a date night fragrance, it has some appeal to it. Performance is OK. There is a subtle coffee note and no civets were harmed on the manufactory of this scent.

Smells VERY similar to black opium le parfum (not the OG), maybe a bit less creamy, and less coffe-forward. It's also a bit brighter. It's a good alternative. I miss the coffee note, but this one lasts much longer and it's cheaper (and a bit less headache inducing)

I posses a Black Opium perfume from 2025 date production and smells exactly like Effects of uniq bcz it was reformulated . It's a very good deal if you can't afford the og, but idk if the quality of the ingredients at the same bcz base on the smell... 95% same

Blind bought it and let it macerate for 2 weeks. I was SO in love with it when I wore it for the first time UNTIL I was in the car with my boyfriend 15 minutes later and he starts sniffing around. I asked him what was wrong and he smelled “sweat”. I gave him my wrist and he looked me straight in the eye. This one on my skin smells like sweat to him... And yes, I just showered! It was the parfum... so dissapointed. Now I’m so scared to wear it again because you know, nobody wants to smell like sweat ofcourse

I haven’t come across this fragrance before but a friend sent a decent to me to try with a bunch of others. This reminds me of my black opium which I already have in my collection. As a fan of that fragrance it’s a no brainer that I like this one but owning a full building the og and several of its flankers means I wouldn’t be upgrading this to a full bottle unless i run out of the OG

I really, really love BO Le Parfum so I had high hopes for this. However, it doesn’t have the creaminess or depth of the original. It doesn’t even really remind me of the original. It’s not a bad perfume, but I don’t think the performance is particularly great and it gives off a slightly bitter smell on me so I’m going to declutter it. Promised a lot; didn’t deliver for me.

Smells exactly like Black Opium Le Parfum. Since I already have the original I sent this back. But it’s a good one.

Bought a 10ml sample as an attempt to find my coffee fragrance in my early days of this hobby. Wasn't disappointed, just wish it wasn't so feminine so that I can wear outdoor more. Good combination of sweetness and fruitiness, very suitable for a date night.

The first time I tried this I feld this is EXACTLY like Khair confection I tried it again and the perception remains it is odd, since the notes are completely different I thought this would be more coffee/caramel, etc It ́s not

Finally my looking is over!!! Tried to find THE DUPES for my favourite niche and high end perfumes but never seen/read/found a dupe for Black Opim Le Parfum! Until now! When i checked again Le Parfum’s similar to section and seen this one I blind bought it as said many people it’s very similar. And i’m so glad I did as this is the one i’ve been waiting for!:) Thank you Fragrantica! UPDATE: Using it for a few days now and i can tell that smells very similar but this in a way more screechy/masculine. Le Parfum is note smooth, creamier and more elegant. How i’d use them, Le Parfum in the start of the day and Uniq to top it up during the day

@Kshir I sprayed it on my wrist one time at 4 pm and it was still lingering to my nose till shower at 10 pm. The coffee is bitter dark like espresso. Not sickly sweet. Towards the dry down the coffee and sweetness remains and comes the orange blossom, woods, vanilla and musk. Could not pick any caramel, mandarin or pear. I think it leans more to the femine side but still some men can pull this off. It feels like some kind of a hybrid between Black Opium (coffee, sweetness) and L'Interdit Rouge Ultime (animalic). Wife has these both but didn't like Uniq as I tried to offer it to her. So now I'm selling it.

No proper info anywhere except couple of videos on YT. I was interested and ordered this to find out. I'll let you know in about a week when it arrives... Edit: Heavy coffee, sweetness, animalic, ambroxan and vanilla. Not my cup of tea, but I bet some will love this. Reminds me a bit of Black Opium or L'Interdit Rouge Ultime. I think it's still unisex.

Do you think the coffee is lactonic or bitter dark coffee and if this is sickly sweet and marginally more feminine even if categorized as unisex? Also what kind of performance you getting off it for now? I had read that the performance in Uniq line is not as good.

Omg I just got this and it’s literally so beautiful like it’s chocolate / coffee , but rich and warm in a sexy and mature way . I can see myself layering this with choco musk!

I agree with the comments bellow, this smells very similar to Black Opium Le Parfum. I have both, this is cheaper alternative, glad I found it.
