Magnificent Blue Pour Homme

If you loved Sauvage Very Cool Spray like me, you NEED Armaf Magnificent Blue Pour Homme. This is Sauvage Very Cool Spray in a standard bottle. Now yes, there are many alternatives like Prada Luna Rosa Carbon, Jimmy Choo Man Blue, Davidoff Cool Water Parfum, La Rive Extreme Story, Maurer & Wirtz Tabac Craftsman, Versace Pour Homme Dylan Blue (I'll shorten to Dylan Blue for more talk), countless other Armaf releases, and other clone fragrance houses' releases. I would say that this is easy to wear and people pleasing. It is different enough from Dylan Blue and Sauvage itself. Magnificent Blue is very much in the Very Cool Spray and Dylan Blue wheelhouse. So know going in, Magnificent Blue is a fragrance that is loved when it is smelled by women. That should not surprising, Sauvage is a people pleasing DNA. However Magnificent Blue, unlike traditional Sauvage and more like the Sauvage Very Cool Spray has a grapefruit note that dominates the opening. If you don't like bright citrus notes, you may not like this but, the grapefruit note cuts into the peppery open of Sauvage. I do not know what it is with Dior Sauvage but clones aren't as headachy as Sauvage whether they do or do not have grapefruit like Sauvage Very Cool Spray. These make the clones for the most part wearable compared to traditional Sauvage. Armaf Magnificent Blue also has bergamot and pepper in the open. In the mid you get a mix of pepper and pink pepper with some lavender and elemi. The base is a mix of cedar and amber and I feel this is where the "it is Sauvage in dry-down" lies. Very Cool Spray is also like that after the brighter opening similar to Magnificent Blue. I want to say there is a bit of an aquatic nature to this fragrance too. Which for most Sauvage like fragrances (save for Dylan Blue), makes it stand out a bit from the pack. Performance is where Magnificent Blue kills. Magnificent Blue performs similar to both Dylan Blue and Very Cool Spray. I get about 7 hours from it. That mind you is mostly consistent if you decant Dior Sauvage Very Cool Spray and my performance with Dylan Blue. The traditional Sauvage projects strong, but this is more subdued which I find awesome if you love the dry-down but hate the projection headaches from the pepper notes up top. The pepper notes in Sauvage gives me a headache. That said, anyone who has worn Sauvage, knows that Sauvage is an absolute total beast and lasts for 10+ hours. Magnificent Blue is a great fragrance it can be used in most situations from spring to fall day and night. I just wouldn't wear it to the club or maybe on first dates due to it being so close to the Sauvage DNA. I would use this especially if you already have Dior Sauvage for dates but not for new love interests. I would also not suggest to wear it during winter. Wear Sauvage, Sauvage EDP, Sauvage Parfum or Sauvage Elixir for that time of year, not Magnificent Blue. Magnificent Blue by Armaf has the great parts of Dior Sauvage Very Cool Spray in a traditional atomizer with the performance consistent with Very Cool Spray and Dylan Blue. For this reason, I give Magnificent Blue a 8.6 out of 10. It is among my top 20, maybe even top 10. The main knock being winter wearings, which in Arizona is not a huge knock.

Nice to see this was added to the database. The presentation is easily one of the best from Armaf, which isn't really saying much because of the history Armaf has had with bottles, but it feels very premium and much higher quality than the price would reflect, a dense, heavy cap and bottle with engravings on the cap to boot. The scent is undoubtedly Dior Sauvage 'Cool Spray', whilst I finished my original bottle of Cool Spray due to how easily one could finish a bottle of it (A minute of spray time), this is a very good substitute. Spraying it next to Dior Sauvage EDT, the difference is very apparent, this is Sauvage made zingier, citrusy, airier, and fresher. It's much less dense, less metallic, and more bright, aromatic, and zesty. The performance is just okay, it's quite strong initially but dies down quickly for a longevity of about 5-6 hours and normal, arms-length projection. The price is the best factor here, I bought this for just under $40 AUD, a steal at that price, don't pay $70 AUD for this though. This is very versatile but is perfect for warmer summer or spring days, not an evening scent. Very mass appealing but you already knew that. A very solid release from Armaf, cloning the now discontinued 'black sheep' of the Sauvage family ($40AUD) - 8.5/10 ($70 AUD) - 5/10

Opening is indeed Sauvage Very Cool Spray. The dry down is pretty standard Sauvage fare, though, but not bad at all. I would need to compare it side-by-side with Sauvage EDT or Very Cool Spray to know which one it most closely resembles in the dry down, but my guess is Very Cool Spray, since the EDT is known for being fairly harsh. The bottle is one of the more impressive Armaf bottles. It’s got a nice heft to it and so far has avoided the typical issues with the atomizer that Armaf tends to have. Performance isn’t insane like original Sauvage, but still pretty dang good. I get around 8-9 hours. A pretty good choice for someone who wants a little less of the metallic tinge that Sauvage tends to have, but still enjoys the DNA.

Whoever says this smells like Sauvage and Sauvage Very Cool Spray, either has never smelled any of those or has seriously something up with their nose. Very cool spray Sauvage was my favorite out of the line. This is nauseatingly bad. This shows that you should never buy a dupe brand shit. Absolute horrible quality. Might as well just call it Armaf Sausage

What's funny are the reviewers (like the two below) who are so far off the mainstream opinions, yet accusing everyone else as misleading. Armaf Magnificent Blu Pour Homme is indeed similar to Dior Sauvage Very Cool Spray, and Dior Sauvage to a lesser extent. In the air, the scent is similar but not the same. It opens with that sweet citrus and light pepper notes Sauvage is known for, but there isn't the strong ambroxan punch that some love or hate. That's what brings this closer to duping the Very Cool Spray version. Think of a lighter version of Dior Sauvage EDT. Of course there is a large gap in quality between the Armaf and Dior, so don't think you're getting an accurate clone with this one. Mag Blu is a lower-quality clone that comes close, but I would say only 80-85% close in scent and definitely not in performance. I get about a few hours of projection before it turns to a skin scent for another few hours. There are so many other decent Dior Sauvage-type clones out there that I wouldn't pay over $25 for this, now that I've tested it. The presentation is interesting and the bottle is solid. Looks good on the shelf. But this is not a hidden gem of a clone, as I believe this could have been done better if it had been produced a few years later. The dupes are getting increasingly better so quickly these days. You get what you pay for here and if that's your budget, it isn't terrible. Just give it some extra sprays if you want it to last over four hours. You'll get compliments if that's what you're looking for.

Never smelled Sauvage Very Cool Spray but I do own Sauvage EDT, EDP & Prada Carbon. This thing is a beauty ! It’s a smooth version of the Sauvage DNA - doesn’t have that black pepper kick that Sauvage does. It is closer to Carbon , but somehow smoother than Carbon. An absolute banger that should be in your roster , you can easily wear this year round. Solid longevity and projection, I wore it while working in my yard on a 60° day and even while sweating , this was pumping 4 hrs later.

Opening is more citrusy then sauvage, middle and dry down is very much similier to sauvage and I detect so much ambroxan in dry down
