Odyssey Aoud

Blind bought this some days ago, due to some positive reviews saying it was better than Lattafa's Oud for Glory and oh my God were these reviews right. Last year in early January (2025), I bought Oud for Glory, loved the opening but the drydown was meh, just a sweet non-descript sweet scent. Also it wasn't beast mode on me, it was a 2024 batch so maybe it was that idk. But I was still interested in the Initio's Oud for Greatness DNA. In late January last year, I bought a 3ml PDM Haltane decant, since it was compared to Oud for Greatness, and that provider didn't have that one so went for Haltane. It was such a perfect an beautiful fragrance I left a review in 02/08/25 on this site (you can check it out), and ever since I added it to my favorite fragrances in my profile, full wore 2 ml of the 3 ml decant on my birthday that same month on the 11th, and I have great memories from that day and associate that scent to good times with good friends. Anyways, I saved that 1 ml because I was planning on buying Detour Noir Eco whenever it was available in my country to compare it, but by the time it was available, I didn't have money or ended up spending on other fragrances, because it wasn't always available and forgot about it. So fast forward to yesterday, when I received Odyssey Aoud, immediatelty, from first spray, 10 seconds after the opening, THERE IT WAS, the good memories came back to me: HALTANE. I rushed to my decant box, took it out, sprayed it, and compared them, and they're 90% - 95% the same smell, Haltane has a tinge of a brighter note in the opening. This magical, green forest-ish oud accord, or maybe the saffron, or the nutmeg, idk what it is, but there's a very specific smell in both Haltane and Odyssey Aoud that's just sooo unique and addictive! I'm in love, I'll add it to my favourites here. I sure didn't expect such a great scent for 25 USD. Love love love this.

My son calls this one "the grenade " referring to the shape of the bottle. It smells exactly like the description, and it is Strong. A great scent, very masculine with a splish of feminine to smooth it out. It radiates! 6 feet or more, one spray will do just fine for a whole day, anything else and everyone you walk past will smell like you. It transfers and then sticks to whomever you come in contact with. (I'm serious). So it depends on how you want your perfume to behave, you may like it.This one's a traveling scent 😉.

I’m sorry I keep spamming in this fragrance’s page, but it is so underrated I have to give it some love. I bought a back up bottle, even though my first one is full. I LOVE this fragrance! Way better than Oud for Glory! Hidden gem status for me.

This is beast mode. You will smell like royalty wearing this. Very bold perfume. For me this is in between oud for glory and supremacy in oud. Can’t go wrong with the price. No need to spend the money on oud for greatness!

HEAT 🔥🔥it comes off sweet and woody with a little spice on me. Love it. Great projection too. Lasted for 2 days with good protection on clothes. Very impressed. No burnt rubber at all.

Value for money,lasts 7 hours + on your clothes and 5houra on skin,projects heavy for 2 hours then ontimate there on,for 30 bucks grab this banger,better than badee al oud,trust me

sweet spot between oud for glory and supremacy in oud. its really really good. Supremacy slightly louder andd also awesome....lol...theyre all awesome.

This is a clone of Oud for Greatness :)

First time trying an Arabian oud perfume and it doesn't compare to anything I've ever worn before. It's all about the sweetness and depth of such a distinctive type of wood! It smells NUCLEAR, a spray or two will suffice for an entire day. Go easy on this. Some people might find Armaf's Odyssey Oud overwhelming and not exactly pleasing. It ain't versatile either: just for Fall and Winter, I guess. And very formal occasions like a wedding/funeral, a special ceremony or an important social event. It reminds me of a church/mosque, something religious where there's heavy incense in the air... Absolutely masculine and mature. Need the right personality and attitude to pull this off.

He sits beneath the metallic moonlight, cigarette lit, the smoke curling around his sinewy neck. He's thinking of that rubenesque girl with the crimson dress and breasts that whispered through the mist, wearing with it a blanket of ambroxan. The odor, a symphony of warmth and patchouli and amber oud. Etched in his memory, the musky, powdery, saffron sweat emanating from her cupid's bow. Not by magic, but deliberately he smears the woody nutmeg flame of her scent onto his skin again with another spritz of Odyssey Aoud.

Second review: I suppose I should stop wearing this perfume to family gatherings. I'm on my fourth bottle because whenever my close relatives catch a whiff, they immediately compliment me. The closer ones even ask me to give them my bottle, which I do Lol. This fragrance is a hit, especially with Arabs and Middle Eastern people who love Oud-based scents. My latest bottle lasts longer and has better projection now than when I first bought it a few months ago, so I believe its performance improves with aging.

This one is better than Oud for Glory, hands down. For Greatness still takes the cake when it comes to longevity and silage (400 vs 30 bucks, duh!) If you're looking for a masculine, woody, spicy, oud-y fragrance with a middle eastern twist, this one can be blind bought with ease. Damn I still remember the time when I used to collect expensive designers thinking they emanate luxury and big-dickery. But along came the mid-eastern dupes, turning the fragrance world upside down.

I just got a 04/2023 batch and it definitely needs to macerate because performance wise its a close skin scent after an hour. i think at least 3 months. will update this in august and let you know if it changed because right now for an ambroxan fragrance it does not feel like an ambroxan fragrance... the scent itself is amazing. its oud but not the type that would destroy your nose and be super heavy. its well balanced and on the drydown it becomes a bit sweet.

Blind buy because I like the packaging, turns out it got me stunned. Beautiful blended of Woody notes with saffron and enhance with musk. The oud come out very smooth, not dominant but consistent. Longevity is not really great with sillage dropping around 3-4 hours on my skin. But for this kind of scent, its worth every penny.

This is a clone of Oud for Greatness no doubt. However it's done to the perfection and I own both plus Lataffa Bade'e Oud for Glory as well. And I'd rank them as follows : 1- Oud for Greatness = 100% 2- Odyssey Aoud = 95% 3- Bade'e Oud for Glory = 65% (synthetic mess). Compare to 1 and 2.

i had this in my collection for a year now. it does not perform as well on me like other people say. if it would last longer than 4 hours it would be great.

EXTREMELY spicy. If you don't enjoy spice stay away. My Turkish roommate said it reminds him of home and smells super nostalgic. I give it 7.5/10

I hadn't smelled any oud for greatness clones before I got this, and I like it. It's just a great woody spicy scent. For people who have smelled OfG or it's many clones, is this different? I noticed that the main accords breakdown is significantly different than the other clones i've seen as this has musk at the top rather than warm spice or oud. I assumed it was because of the ambroxan, which is not present in the others.

This is really good perfume, if you want to smell like oud for greatness. I could still smell this perfume on me after 1 day, even after taking shower. It is well balanced blend. Not too sweet like supermacy in Oud. I tried all oud for glory as well. No doubt that one is best. But this one is amazing too. Skip supermacy in oud. I don’t know why they add weird sweet notes in their perfume.

I genuinely hate this product; it sucks. It lasts under two hours, barely projects even after mascaration, and for some reason, it smells like goldfish. This horrible purchase also has a scent reminiscent of a doctor's office—it's the worst smell I've ever encountered.( edit: after 1 month of mascaration is smells pretty good and everyone likes it but I go nose blind after 2 sprays .

Its not bad idea to add this in your fragrance list. But you cannot wear this everyday. It’s occasional perfume and can annoy some people. Its too sweet. Overall: Its good but not blind buy Longevity : amazing Sillage : amazing Price : amazing

@Moosyjay why do you say that? From the notes listed I'd guess it's an Oud For Greatness clone.

Gotta be honest, this one misses the mark for me. The profile pulls into two different directions and they do not seem to be helping each other. Currently my least favorite scent from the Armaf Odyssey line in my collection. The woodiness is nice, but the floral and sweeter notes are clashing with it. If you're a big oud fan, you'll like it, but I can name a few other oud fragrances at this price point (if not cheaper) that not only beat it in scent, but also performance. I did buy this off of their site so it was basically $50. The Odyssey scents with this design feel cheaper than the ones with the little leather pocket. The cap scrapes a little when it twist it. Maybe I'm knit picking. On the UPSIDE, It has better longevity than some of the other colognes in its line. Not saying a whole lot, I do not get more than 5 hours out of this. Projection leaves the conversation after hour 2. Longevity: 6/10 - Projection: 3/10 - Overall: 4/10 (barely)

Maybe my taste changed in a few months - or if the maceration made it MORE animalic, but I went from liking it to hating it. Genuinely NEVER want to scrub a fragrance off myself / change clothes - this one was so pungent and offensive to me I completely stripped and showered. I TRIED to give it a chance and it really isn't for me. The saffron is undercut by the ambroxan almost immediately after hitting the nose - musk takes over and the woody middle is left to dry in a (to me) offensively oudy incense-y vibe that lands on the nose like cat pee to me. Patchouli is nonexistent.

Blend 2/5 (linear and boring AF. It has sparkling base though. Nothing wrong with it, just ok) Uniqueness 2/5 (just another common cologne on the air. Nothing wrong with it, just ok) Perceived Quality 3/5 (doesn't feel that cheap though. Just ok.) Armaf Odyssey Aoud is a Linear version of French Avenue Glorious Oud. The signature airy and wet wood is still there but the earthy notes was none existense.

#478 in my "Tour de Fragrance" No inexpensive oud scent is better than Lataffa Bade'e Oud for Glory which is a clone of Initio Parfums amazing Oud for Greatness. This is a mediocrity you don't have to settle for. Get the Lataffa. You'll be happier with it.

This was a blind buy for me, and since I’ve never smelled the original, I can’t make a comparison. It’s not really my cup of tea, but I have to admit that the performance is excellent. It definitely feels more suited to colder weather.

This is literally one of the worst fragrances I've ever tried. If you want to smell and feel like you're sitting in a dentist chair,go for it. Very harsh, medicinal smell that doesn't develop into anything further. Same scent as Flavia Initial.

Weaker Lattafa ameer al oudh mixed with some cheap baccarat dupe in the back notes

This just arrived. First spray is an assault. Its a punch in the face of kerosene. REALLY sharp and unpleasant. Yuck. I hear this kid has potential so I am going to leave this a while and report back, maybe it will improve if i let it sit. it does not look good so far though. I bet I'm not alone in the feeling that I am getting fed up with that brand new out the box diesel kerosene shitstorm when i buy arabian fragrances?! Ugh, its so perfectly BAD for headaches and my asthma too. UPDATE....13 FEB 2025 10 days have passed since that review above and thankfully this has settled right down and is now ready to wear. it had travelled from the USA to Europe probably via the UAE first so no wonder it wasn't at its best upon arrival at my house. All is forgiven. Armaf Odyssey Oud is gorgeous in fact. I can't wait for it to mature longer as it has a fantastic exotic spicy scent. I'm not wealthy enough or stupid enough or selfish enough to spend hundreds of bucks/euros/pounds/dinar etc on Oud for Greatness or whatever its called, which is supposedly what this is a clone of. I don't know and i don't care what that smells like so i can't compare and comment on that. Comparisons are for journalists and experts. I can just tell you what i smelt with an open mind, unfettered by psychological comparisons. Its a really well blended combo of earthy, spicy, fruity and musky that lasts hours but never gets too much or too little. it feels consistent and strong. Its lost that diesel shit that marked the opening on arrival like lots of these clones have. I guarantee if you buy this and it stinks like that, leave it a couple of weeks and it will go away and become a great fragrance. All i know is this is a truly individual mini modern masterpiece and a glowing exotic scent that lasted me around 10 hours off 6 sprays each wrist and it stays interesting just on its own. Its smooth above all, never too disorganized or messy. Feels luxurious. It probably is not for everyone and will be too strong or weird for some folks, especially if you're not into arabian and spicy scents. its dark and masculine and its not sweet, but its got sweet to offset the sour, like a good curry. Its strong but never aggressive, its assertive but probably not good for work, use discretion where you put this one. Its a sometimes type of smell, too frequent use would diminish its appeal and annoy others. Its a winner for my money and a definite keeper. Be patient. It is worth the wait. 8/10 from me

Handle this one with care. Performance will not disappoint. I overapplied my first wearing and it was a loooonnnggg day. I toughed it out, but wow. Didnt wear it for a while after that. At first spray, I am instantly in a doctors office. Dries down to super dark and powerful rich masculinity. Gotta be in the mood for it though. Not a dumb reach for sure!!!

OFG dupe #8, second to Supremacy In Oud by Afnan. Due to its blend quality and accuracy. Aren't dupe brands tired of duplicateing this shyt?, because i know I'm tired of constantly finding new bottles just to find out it wil have to go down as the 99th dupe of the same scent pyramid from a single brand.

I let this macerate for weeks & that harsh diesel opening is gone. Now it’s developed to this dark, spicy, exotic cloud lasting for 10 hours+. I'm not paying $$$ for Oud for Greatness when this slaps just fine. Absolutely a keeper. Be patient. Let it cook. This stuff blooms!

@Moosyjay, mate you`ve been watching too much Aromatix, that guy usually doesn't have a clue what he`s talking about :D This one is a clone of Oud for Greatness with moderate performance, tho it`s more wearable that Lattafa Oud for Glory

The synthetic oud used in it is not pleasant. Would've been a nice fragrance if there wasn't that unpleasant synthetic oud. Pass.
