First impressions Starts of lime heavy ,leading with the metallic notes making this steel like aroma followed wirh a smooth leather un raveling itself as suede smooth but spicy with the metal 6 hours later Reminds me of masa by lattafa being that Ganymede dna but also the lime acted in a similar style masa drys down where that lemon and mango tones down and dance with the ambers in the base without screaming hey im citrus, smoother amber citrus smell minus the mango that masa has they smelled 100% identical for about an hour lime goes down cedar rises with the incense and amber setting the tone of the fragrance for the rest of its duration At other times it reminds me of detour eco both possibility of containing oud, saffron, cedar, 10:41 Lime spices and suede become the drydown of the fragrance light mineral scent barley present The suede becomes the main star working with the amber and musky lime (toned down lime) Might not be a suede note but one of the woodynotes being CEDAR with the insense and amber making a smokey dry leather suede effect. Just sprayed again (ombre) with masa and amber saffron FA not that similar to see similarities and MASA masa masa is what im getting its masa hyped up 10x that metallic opening is amazing imo without that mango in masa this becomes so metal

This stuff is straight GAS! It makes me think of sitting in a brand new high end sports car. The way the suede/alcantara smells when fresh and new. The smell of race fuel and burnt rubber. I don't know how to explain it other than that. It's definitely my jam though! I haven't put my nose on Crystal Saffron nor Ganymede but from what I have smelled it reminds me of Emir Celestial and Michael Malul Amber+Smoke. It's darker, less leathery and less sweet than Celestial but brighter and fresher due to the lime than amber+smoke. But it's a little bit of both of those to my nose.

Nose Note #942 I don't know about Crystal Saffron, but to me this smells very much like Ganymede. Very metallic, very mineralic. Saffron? Definately, but not like saffron from Oud for Greatness, more like Baccarat Rouge 540 saffron, but not sweet. It is definately more masculine than Ganymede, it's as if it has a masculine freshie base. Great longevity and sillage. Nice performer. Good value for money, if you like Ganymede DNA. To me this is redundant if you have Khanjar or Masa or other high quality Ganymede dupes. 8.5/10, mind that Ganymede has a polarizing DNA

This is a very unusual and deep fragrance. The best way I can describe it right out of the box is 'cold' and 'weirdly musky'. It doesn't have the typical warmth you'd expect from a winter scent; instead, it has this futuristic, sterile depth to it. The ambroxan and saffron combination creates a sharp, almost metallic aura that feels very distant but intriguing. It is definitely a strange scent profile, but it grabs your attention. The sillage is strong . Not a safe blind buy, but highly unique if you want to smell 'icy' and modern

This is really special, I can't imagine it being a crowd pleaser but it's got that niche vibe. I haven't smelled Ganymede but to me it's in between Crystal Saffron and Ra'eed oud by Lattafa. Anotherbadhabit nailed the description of the smell - like a new expensive car or how I'd imagine the future's humanoid robotics factory would smell like. It's got that chrome, gas, spicy floral notes. I really enjoy it but it might be polarizing to others. I bought this blind like most colognes, caution suggested for future buyers.

This has to be one of the most under rated gem that you can find. The price is nothing comparing to the rich smell you'll be getting. When I first smelt it thought it was probably an ultra niche perfume. OH BOY! I was very wrong this smells like money! If you are a CEO or own a business and attend meetings often blind buy this one and trust me you'll be dominating the room!

Guys, this perfume is unique. Initially, when I bought it, it smelled like Raid — like fly spray or bug spray. But after some months of maceration (three months or more), this perfume is fire. It has a metallic, woody kind of dry-down with great performance. You can smell it all day, and you don’t even need that many sprays. Absolute value for money. Guys, please get this!

If this has been on your radar, do yourself a favor and just pull the trigger. You may not instantly love it, but it’s a smell that grows on you. It won’t be long and you will find yourself reaching for it all the time. I could easily make this my signature scent. This will not only get you noticed, but it will also get you remembered.

Ombre d'Or Armaf, what can I say, excellent performance, just like Armaf has accustomed us to. The scent may be a little synthetic, but it improves over time. You will definitely get compliments for this perfume, or at least be noticed. It is worth having, it is not expensive, I will buy it again because it does the job perfectly.

Really enjoying this , definitely not a blind buy though. The smell took me back to Saturday mornings as a child , then realised it was cleaning old vinyl records .. the static.. and then out in dad’s car .. the new leather ! Lasts a good ten hours on my skin to which is unusual as my skin usually drinks up fragrance for fun .

Now THAT's a fragrance to write home about. The saffron and metallic notes along with the ballistic incense note, are very well rounded off with the other ingredients. It's an absolutely beastly fragrance and the longevity is beyond impressive, even in harsh weather. LOVE IT!

No, there’s nothing metallic🔗 about this at all! And it doesn’t give the same vibe as Ganymede. It’s more reminiscent of Lattafa Al Areeq Gold...though a smoother, more refined version. The iris🪻🌸 here is absolute perfection👌🏼✨️

To my nose this is more Crystal Saffron than Ganymede and I love that. It's surprisingly niche smelling and gives off a much more expensive experience than it costs. Great to layer with as well!

I love it. Very nice. Well blended. I get this metallic and woody scent that has some smokiness. Very unique. Leans more masculine. Great for winter and colder weather. Evenings out for sure.

I also own Saffron Elixir. Both great, but this one is more sensual, saffron elixir is colder, serious, sterile. This is luxurios, expensive smelling.

Archetypic metallic scent. Out of this world. I just love this signature perfume. Perfect one for crystal saffron and ganymede fans.

This is nice. Just got a bottle and it is lovely. Reminds me a bit of Oud for greatness. Not a direct clone of it though.

This is Ganymede with a Twist, Maybe a tad bit limy citrus that i can detect but overall its Ganymede!

This is the best dupe for MP's Crystal Saffron out on the market as far as I'm aware. It smells quite the same + the metallic parts, which as other reviewers have commented on, is extremely bold. As someone who dislikes metallic smells, I am pleased to tell you that this perfume does it right. In the opening it's very bold, the lime and metallic notes are so strong, it really tickles my nose. The reason I still like this perfume is because the dry down is very very nice, and it is at that moment it really begins to smell like Crystal Saffron. As it has somewhat dried down on your skin, the lime is no longer noticeable but the metallic notes linger around in the backgroud in a calm manner (thankfully, otherwise it had been way too much). It is now the flowers come to life, especially the saffron and iris in my own experience, backed by the very lowkey hint of incense. The incense really does the job here, it's not really prominent but it assists the flower notes very well. Eventually after around 4 - 5 hours, the metallic notes are completely gone and it is a composition consisting mostly of saffron, iris, incense and the woody notes which to my nose smells like Cedarwood. My nose for some reason has a hard time picking up the amber in this fragrance and I genuinely don't know why, it's as if it doesn't even exist. Moving on to information regarding performance: First of all, this thing projects quite well I must admit. I am impressed. The first day I wore this, my buddies immediatley knew I had entered the building just by the smell. Now what's so impressive about the projection of this thing is that it doesn't violate anyones personal space. It's not heavy but it takes up the room and is well noticeable to those around you, but it doesn't invade in the sense that some beast projection fragrances behave. Ombre d'Or lingers in a subservient way, inviting your surroundings to it's pleasent oriental aura, all the while it moves around with you and leaves out any heavy projection attacks which makes it what I would call a respectful projection. Longevity is fantastic, lasts around 10 - 12 hours on my skin with an undeviated behaviour once past the dry down, which makes the later stages of this fragrance wonderful. Good thing it lasts long, it ages and improves on the go. Sillage as well is a job well done. Leaves a heavenly scent behind you as you walk by people or get out of an elevator for example. Personal anecdote: (not relevant to the review) On the first day of wearing this, I recall getting many compliments from coworkers and friends, as well as my own mother, saying it smells magnificent. So to sum it up, my conclusion here is that Armaf's Ombre d'Or is the best dupe of MP's Crystal Saffron on the market as I am writing this right now the 18th of February 2026. As a matter of fact, it could even be preffered over the original solely due to its spectacular performance, showcasing an ideal projection that all scents should strive to accomplish, as well as a strong longevity. Oh, and the price - ridicilously cheap, just around 45£. Underrated perfume, give it a try if you're into Crystal Saffron as this thing is almost better than the original.

Perhaps it's a batch variation, but the lime in my bottle is quite intense, and it almost turns me off from it. A while ago I had the pleasure of smelling Crystal Saffron and wanted a cheap alternative to that, this immediately came up upon some searches so I purchased it. What I liked so much about Crystal Saffron was the strange, addictive scent of cold metal and the scent of a dental office; this fragrance evokes some of the same feelings but with a few twists. The cold metal feeling is actually not as prominent as I expected, and instead, I believe that sensation is replaced by the combination of woodiness and citrus, creating a different interpretation of that. The vibe I'm almost getting is a scent of some sort of very limey and salty margarita. I do get the saffron scent, but it is not the same as good old Crystal Saffron. I did notice that this is also compared to Ganymede, so perhaps this could be a better interpretation of that; however, I am unsure because I have never smelled Ganymede. Update: I understand now, it smells like those lime flavored Tostitos chips.

For me the metallic smell is very bold and protruding, to almost nauseating extent. It strongly envelops the saffron scent I assume a lot of people are after in this fragrance. The rest of the notes for me are quite muted. However, I get a leathery, spicy tinge somewhere there in the middle. Generally this has some pheromonal musky base to it aswell. Smells a lot like dentists cabinet. Once it settles down a bit, it becomes much more pleasant and detailed. I got this Fragrance after catching a whiff of Crystal Saffron. Now I gotta say Saffron Elixir by french avenue is a lot more similar to Crystal Saffron, which is quite sweet comparing to Ombre d'Or, which is the least sweet, if not at all, out of the three fragrances mentioned. And this is closer to Saffron Elixir, as they both have prominent metallic notes. Still If you like Crystal Saffron or Saffron Elixir, there is a big chance you will like this aswell. Overall, it is an original and special smell, which I still do like, but it is missing a little sweetness or some other slightly comforting note.

I had a sample of Crystal Saffron and fell in love but with that price tag I wanted to look for the closest alternative... I had the sample and Ombre D’or left/right arm. Opening on Crystal is a little intense yes while ombre is a little more fresh guess that’s the lime, but they are close. First hour they are really much alike though after that is the part I dislike... After that ombre d’or gives more of a rose vibe coming trough while Crystal Saffron goes to a more gasoline like way. Each their own but that’s the part I love about Crystal, floral yet rugged and different. After that point Ombre d’or dies down but Crystal stays for you lot longer like a mist around you. If you know vanilla powder its like that but with Saffron. So for me it is an ok fragrance but the original really is worth the price tag and bought it after comparing. This is a great choice though if you want to make the DNA your signature affordable scent, use Ombre D’or in casual daily life and Crystal Saffron on important occasions ✌️

Really gorgeous, strong saffron, metallic, and rose scent. I had a bad reaction (either allergic, overstimulating or both) every time I wore it so I had to give it away. Wish I could enjoy it! It's got an ambroxan dry down and leaves a sizable trail after maturing. It smells like the height of Arabian luxury- jewelry, leather, saffron, incense. It's smoothed out by the undercurrent of florals and lime. An incredible experience. My only caveat with the scent profile is it could be blended a little differently, more wearable, maybe a little more sweet, but they chose to make it a powerhouse. Edit: after comparing it to crystal saffron, it's a twist, not a dupe, it has some extra going on, and it doesn't have that hot iron/warm lightbulb habanolide/aldambre from Crystal Saffron. Edit again: if you see Beverly Hills Polo Club Saffron Oud, that is another Crystal Saffron dupe that is good but has a more airy, leathery, vanillic twist.

This scent initially reminds me of the smell big department stores like Beal's and Macy's used to have. The smell of an incense mixed with new clothing and metallic fixtures. This leading smell is intriguing as stated, but a couple of hours after dry down it smells rose-ish to me and loses it's masculine character imo. Also, spray this *once* in the air, let disperse and then walk through the lightly droplet filled space to put this fragrance on in a sensible way. Anything more will dominate the senses of any other being you come into contact with.

Well as it happens a lot with Armaf and many other middle eastern juices, I hated it at first, but slowly this musky metallic anomaly has grown on me. Now I'm find myself reaching for it more than I should. Overspraying still induces a headache, but silage is excellent and performance is beastly. I would still recommend trying before buying, but give it some space to macerate. Good work Armaf.

It's quite ok.... it's an alternative to Ganymede Extrait / Ganymede. It's quite ok ... nothing major. If you like Ganymede, this will serve a good purpose in your collection. Average performance for now (6hrs of longevity, average projection). It's still new in my collection, so I'll let it sit for a while

I bought it and its nice. Smells different and good for me. But perfomance is bad im letting it macerate for few weeks and i’ll update when it changed or gets better but i picked up for around 30$ for the price its good.

Smell like the inside of a new luxury shoebox, again. I like it though!

The opening is dark and somewhat ambery, with strong metallic nuances. Unfortunately, it’s not pleasant to my nose. There is very little evolution overall; even after 20 minutes on skin, the scent remains almost unchanged. I don’t perceive any incense or lemon, despite what the note breakdown suggests. This is not an easy fragrance to wear. It’s quite potent and feels like something that will only appeal to a very specific audience. Definitely not an office scent, and absolutely not something I would wear to the gym. To me, it smells completely synthetic, with no natural facets at all. The best way I can describe it is like walking into some kind of factory—plastics mixed with metal—though it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what. I honestly wouldn’t know who to recommend this fragrance to, and it’s not something I would purchase. I strongly suggest trying a decant first and avoiding blind buying under any circumstances.

What is this? A joke? A scam? Something wrong with my bottle? I don’t smell any smooth saffron or iris, no metallic notes, just a WD-40 type of smell. I can’t believe what I’m smelling after all those YouTube reviewers praised this as a top 5 Armaf fragrance (right after they were invited to France by Armaf to visit the scent factory bla bla). Sounds like a huge marketing push. How dare they compare this to El Dorado? This is very weak, with zero projection. I thought Armaf had leveled up, but they’re still far from French Avenue in terms of quality. In terms of marketing, maybe. I’m usually very positive about new scents, and I give myself time to get to know them, to learn how to enjoy them, since we’re all on this fragrance journey. But this time NO! Do not blind buy.

New Car Smell and hard black leather shoes from back in the day - right outta the shoebox . Is that what the now famous Crystal Saffron and Ganymede smell like ? Ombre D'or comes with deluxe packaging and a magnetic cap. The bottle has a classic Chanel look . Upon first blast - New car smell but up close you can feel other stuff going on. I get saffron but no incense or lime (which is sad- I am a lime-a-holic) . This smells a LOT like some of the Memo Leather clones I have owned in the past. I think I like this but first need to sign up for a synthetics class. This has a classic "brutal leather" vibe of some OLD classics as it dries down it gets better . Maceration is gonna decide. This is NOT for July weather but sweat amplifies and I will be open minded on this . My Armaf road has been rocky this year. A lot of misses . This one needs to be worn far from your nose to take it all in. Again; real true synthetics at work. Right now GRADE: B minus . But that might change . I was first disgusted by Robert Piguet's BANDIT when I had first smelled it and now I consider it high art. This is not a "user friendly" leather clone. Probably not a safe blind buy .

This is not at all something I would usually wear. But it’s weird in a good way lol I have never smelled Ganymede or crystal saffron, I would like to now that I have smelled this. I’ve never smelled anything like this before. It’s like metal with leather and some slight sweetness. I took a chance but it’s not blind buy safe at all. It’s probably not a mass crowd pleaser. I like it though. I think I would only wear this dressed up. It gives well dressed man in a nice suit and drives an expensive car lol

Never smelled Crystal Saffron but this is amazing scent for 45€ is Beast ❤️🔥🔥 but notes here are wrong on Fragrantica,on package with fragrance l get lil book with notes and this fragrance doesn’t have lime and rose but have spices musk,amber ,leather ,metalic, incense ,tobacco and safron

Pretty much just Ganymede. Quite dark and heavy. Maybe Ganymede has a little more Woodsie side a little fresher. This opens up quite nice like a combo of dark and fresh and drys down into a more saffron scent Lasts very well 8/10 for over all

I dont know how should i expect metalic note but this scent profile is a king ,smooth piecing ,sensual ,suductions musclicine and long lasting It is very good done .9/10

Nothing to do with Ganymede. Ganymede is more mineralic and this is more metallic. You can say the vibe is similar, but smell is nothing alike. Good though.

Such an effortlessly expensive smelling fragrance, like it doesn’t try too much and smells really pleasant and upscale in the air. A strong 8.9/10 for me.
