Blueberry Morning

Part 2: I got it in and man its not what I was expecting, though I didn't really know what to expect other than vague memory of what artificial blueberry smells like, and seeing that this has real cambodian oud something that I have never smelled in perfume I couldn't think of how this would smell. It opens with a strong slightly challenging oud and saffron and its honestly a little barnyard stanky to my nose at first I cant pick up on any blueberry for the first few minutes unless I'm really trying to focus and that might just be me not being used to real oud having a big role in a fragrance, but my experience with the opening its kinda shaky rn Where I really appreciate this fragrance is the more that opening fades and dries down, it balances out so much better and I find it much more wearable and not so directly oudy, it starts to really become a dark kinda soft blueberry fruity fragrance, to me it reminds me of like some type of artificial blueberry candy and the oud scoots back and just makes its deep and rich. Also this is absolutely a belter for projection and longevity, my evidence of this is that I sprayed a hoodie I was wearing near, not directly on, my neck and somehow enough got on my t shirt underneath the hoodie to where its still pumping off after 2 days and I sprayed on a different fragrance on top of it, its more than likely gonna survive its first wash I got no doubt about that. But with this being my first pickup from an indie house I am not disappointed I wanna live with this for a bit and decide where I fully stand with it but right now its looking good 7/10

Sampling Aromas de Salazar Blueberry Morning, a fruity blend involving a very minimal note breakdown of blueberry, saffron, gardenia, and oud. The blueberry is front-and-center and it definitely leans more gourmand than Blueberry Chypre, in which the blueberry is the first of a large ensemble of notes. Blueberry Morning is still a very interesting, not full-on gourmand blend, though, with a fresh/green/floral side and a bit of depth via the oud, another very innovative creation from Michael Salazar of which I immediately appreciate the art and creativity. Blueberry Morning is priced at $150 for 50ml, on the lower end of the house’s pricing, and is sold via the house website and Perfumology, and like most of the house, performs very well. I’d like to do a side-by-side of Blueberry Morning and Blueberry Chypre to further appreciate their nuances and differences, but I’m quite impressed by this duo, with the edge going to Blueberry Chypre, tentatively, I’d say. 8 out of 10

Blueberry Morning is gorgeous and an instant confidence booster. It opens with a stunning blueberry note, but not a sugary, candy-like blueberry and definitely not a muffin blueberry. This is more of an overripe, juicy, mouthwatering, deep blueberry that feels rich and addictive. After about an hour, the blueberry softens and mostly burns off, making room for what I imagine is the saffron and oud. As it settles, it melts into something that reads to me like a smooth, saddle-like leather. It has this quiet confidence to it: bold & refined, without being loud. It stays close to the skin, but lasts beautifully on me for 8+ hours. This is my favorite from the house so far. Perfectly unisex - My husband loves it too.

Blueberry Morning is my favorite from this brand 100/10. It actually took me by surprise... I bought the 10ml one day and 1 week later bought the full bottle. That’s how good it is. The blueberry and saffron mix is to die for. In the base you get a nice earthy Oud which gives body to the fragrance. Mannn as simple as the notes are, Blueberry Morning is hands down the BEST (in my opinion). - Lajolies2scents

This is what niche fragrance should be about. A gorgeous and hyper realistic blueberry accord that is complimented by a beautiful saffron note. A combination I never would have thought I would see. The gardenia adds a subtle softness to the composition and the oud is near perfect. Bringing a welcomed woodiness with depth. Very nicely done and cant wait to explore more from this house.

The only reason I can fathom this score being low is the price. This stuffs very good. Definitely high quality. I enjoy it alot

To much white floral not enough oud. I was really hoping for a strong animalic oud mixed with a fruity sweet blueberry. It does however get much better on the dry down after 30 minutes or so. The oud becomes more prominent (still not animalic) and the white florals subside. Also @alphairone your review is a tad harsh.

This smells weird to my nose. Will come back after it’s settled for an hour ‘cos I want to love this so bad.

I recall a Post cereal named Blueberry Morning that I used to eat the hell out of in high school in the 90s. It was delicious. This, not so much. In fact after an immediate hit of synthetic blueberry fragrance oil, no sooner after that does this nearly singe my nosehairs with a terrifying slug of what seems like safraleine and suederal, rendering me nauseated. Then there is an overdose of some oud base that just sits there and sneers while the metallic properties of the aforementioned continue to assault my olfactory receptors. This is clearly another attempt from an untrained DIY perfumer who hasn't yet gotten his footing on the fundamentals of blending.

this is my personal favorite from this perfume house. a gorgeous and well rounded scent that has absolutely nothing to muddle it up or turn it into anything but what its intention is to be. I can pick out each note perfectly from this and yet it’s perfect enmeshment creates a perfect and fragrant bouquet. I would classify it as a warm floral with gourmand elements. You can smell the ripe photorealistic gardenia petals (such a hard note in nature to capture in perfume correctly), amidst a base of oud that provides a sweet warmth to the whole composition. What you smell initially and completely throughout is the most true blueberry you will ever smell in perfumery. Bravo for that. I love berries and would never dream to be able to wear blueberries of all things and this makes it so you can smell like blueberries any day of the week. The saffron adds this very high class note to it that makes this smell very expensive but doesn’t push this into grandma’s closet. I love it so much that I actually smell my wrist pretty constantly while i wear, and all my coworkers love this one. They always ask with puzzled looks “what are you wearing?” Because they are intrigued! Aromas de Salazar fragrances will intrigue people because there is mystery and passion floating through fragrance. Give them a try but make sure you try this one because you shouldn’t sleep on a perfect perfume like this!

I’ve recently ordered a discovery set from Salazar and will update this comment after experiencing the scents. However, I feel compelled to address alphairone. At what point does critique become unbalanced? I’ve read through your other reviews, and while your 1300+ critiques and YouTube videos show a clear passion for perfumery, your response to Salazar’s work stands out. You posted 8 harsh reviews in just 90 minutes, and it feels more like personal frustration than constructive criticism. Critique is important, but when I see your approach to Salazar’s work, it seems like you’ve elevated perfumery to a pedestal, engaging with it from afar rather than jumping into the creative process yourself. Instead of focusing on flaws, perhaps consider taking inspiration from Salazar’s path and exploring your own creativity. I’ll reserve judgment until I’ve experienced the fragrances, but the community would benefit from a more open, supportive conversation.

So I bought Blueberry Morning and Cafe Fiesta. I bought travel sizes but I can easily see wanting more of these magnificents unique fragrances. I could only imagine how they will be after a little more maceration. Lovely, lovely! I am eager to try more from this brand. Great job @michael.salazar89!!!!

Have been loving indie perfumery and showing them with full support and ADS is one of them. Blueberry morning is a wonderful dark yummy gourmand beauty. We dont see much often perfumers using blueberry but Mr salazar did it. I received this as a sample ommgg i fell in love with it.

The white florals here are too heady/aggressive. A shame because the notes have potential. Maybe as I continue to wear this they will subside, but it's still an issue regardless
