Attar Davana

Upon first spritz I get fresh cut sweet tuberose flower, slightly bubblegummy yet also a bit green and oily. There is this ever so slight davana veil at a distance that is displaying many facets - vegetal, barbershop, a bit powdery as if it were from another time - mature but not pissy - It floats away and the tuberose takes center stage - there is a fatty richness here - honeyed rich and buttery. The only green I am getting maybe a slight unripe banana in the background now in the mid-notes. At this point I breathe into the beginning of the dry down and there is a slightly smoky, oiliness in there - this has to be the civet and patch working their way into the mix. It's now been a couple of hours. I am still in the buttery mid and I smell a tiny bit of vanilla in here rounding things out. It is also projecting a polleny powderiness - very yellow. This lasts for ages. I have had it on now for many hours and am only now getting into a patchouli/muskiness reminiscent of musks from the 70's - a little skanky, a little animalic under a buttery floral veil. I will come back and edit when and if I get to a full base note dry down. It might be a masterpiece. It is definitely unique. The quality is there. I am very happy I was able to add this to my collection.

Oh my word. This is one of the most hypnotic, flagrantly sexual come-hithers I've ever encountered in perfume. I love it. A thickened, fleshy white floral, animalic siren call. Attar Davana opens briefly like a woody patchouli with the velvety davana though it's surprisingly animalic and leathery too with its large dose of castoreum. Then the main event begins as narcotic tuberose and jasmine emerge to fill out the accord, their rich buttery esters and indoles, slicked up with the oiliness of that castoreum, blooming in a slow, writhing, sensual floral swirl. This stuff is seriously erotic. I'd better stop before I go too far. Things do get more civilised as the perfume settles, the davana coming back into play, but wow, what a creation. Don't waste time trying it on the blotter this stuff only makes sense on skin. Stunning

Ohh I really like this one, but probably won’t buy a full bottle ‘till I’m retired. Or will I? At first it smells like walking past a DIY soap workshop in the 90’s, this scent is very nostalgic to me. As it dries down it gets softer, more powdery and sweet. Slight notes of floral incense in the background, but most of all it’s a powdery soap bar. It’s so nostalgic and if this is still being produced when I retire, it’s gonna be my signature. I will cherish my sample for now.

OMG this is swoon-worthy, gorgeous green amber with just the right amount of castoreum to give it depth.
