Parfum d'Aube

Absolutely enchanting white floral dream showcasing the Karo Karounde flower (rarely used in perfume) in all it’s morning glory. The West African flower smells like a musky jasmine combined with magnolia. To this central note one can detect addition of tiare flower, ambergris and synthetic musk. The feminine leaning scent has moderate to strong projection and excellent longevity. Like drowning yourself in these delicate fragrant white flowers. Enjoy!

Testing it in June, around 18-19 degrees Celsius, just out of the box. No rotten cigarettes, very little leather and not that much ambergris. I predominantly get exotic plants from it, being a mixture of dense white flowers and something more greenish. Like a bouquet of tiare, jasmine and lilies sitting in the water for some time, with their stems smelling slightly damp and rotting (in a green, dewy way, but definitely not aquatic). When sniffed really close to where it was applied, it gives some dusty vibe, which is mildly unpleasant, but undetectable further from skin. I don't see it as particularly mature. It's actually quite intoxicating and unique, a bit gothic/dangerous, being wearable at the same time.

White floral bouquet... Fresh from the ground white floral bouquet, & reminds me so much of "French Bouquet" essential oil by Greenleaf. It is like a salty fresh white floral of jasmines, tiare, and a touch of ylang with a dewy water dew on fresh grass. The name of this blend really explains the blend quite well of a freshly dawn white floral. It's not balmy, but a bit harsh fresh mature white floral. Beautiful.

Parfum d'Aube definitely does smell like a certain type of photorealistic leather in the opening. The only problem is, it is the type of leather that— for whatever reason— smells like stale or rotting cigarettes. I get none of the beautiful florals with this, unfortunately, until it dries down a little. And even then, that cigarette accord still lingers. But if you want to smell like a leather jacket that spent several days in a chain smoker's house, this is definitely for you. For me, it's a 4/10. But I appreciate that it is truly unique and someone out there may love it. If you did blind buy this, be consoled that it does improve somewhat on the dry down and, if layered, that it could potentially give an interesting depth and dimension to mass-marketed scents or anchor ephemeral sweet scents.

Dry down very white floral soapy bitter residue. Feels like old fashion soap when washed skin off it and it is still lingering on skin. I personally do not enjoy this and have many other perfumes with much more elegant leather composition. Must be not my kind.
