Cuir Sublime

Are you a fan of leathery fragrances? Because this one is fantastic! When touching the skin, the coriander note jumps towards the nostrils and explodes in spicy and aromatic nuances, which merge with the citrus aspect of the tangerine. It is not a juicy output, but a woody one. Right off the bat, the iris note is present and gains more fanciful facets of violets, which is even more evident due to the note of violet leaves. The heart of the fragrance literally pulsates, pumping out this slightly metallic scent with many floral and powdery facets. The iris of Cuir Sublime works very well in association with the woods to come and gives a very masculine aspect, which can be noticed from the very beginning. On the other hand, the notes of rose and, above all, the Tiaré flower go unnoticed by my nose. It also doesn't take long for the leathery effect to reveal itself, honoring the name stamped on the bottle. Then, the spicy and powdery iris starts to gain weight and the fragrance seems to become drier as the dry down occurs, even if this seems like a pleonasm. Cedar and leather unite in such a way that the result is a rustic and warm accord, full of virility. Over time, the fragrance of Cuir Sublime seems to find calm and softer tones emerge, with an amber and sensual profile. And all this olfactory power remains irreproachable thanks to the notes of myrrh and benzoin, which bring a smoky incense effect that I really like. If the vanilla stood out too much and weighed down the creaminess, the feeling of wearing “liquid leather” on the skin would be in vain. Cuir Sublime does not reinvent leather in perfumery, but presents an admirable result, with excellent projection and high durability. I believe it is more successful among men, but I don't doubt that it looks very chic on women's skin. One word: SUBLIME!
