Bois Precious

Bois Precious was one of the launching fragrances of Arte Olfatto brand, in 2013, and although its name pays tribute to precious woods, its fragrance pays tribute to a valuable ingredient in perfumery: iris. The composition lists notes of cypress, Florentine iris, and juniper, at the top. Then, in the center of the olfactory pyramid, we have notes of myrrh, patchouli, woods, and resins. In the base, notes of musk, leather, ambergris, honey, and vanilla have been carefully combined. When sprayed on the skin, the fragrance of Bois Precious is quite ambery, a characteristic that permeates throughout the evolution. The resins, which create the amber accord, merge with the myrrh and reveal a comfortable personality, which is the term that symbolizes this fragrance for me: comfort. The iris butter brought more woody facets than earthy or powdery. Therefore, those people who avoid fragrances with iris in evidence, because of the powdery effect they usually find, may be positively surprised by this creation, as there is more wood and creaminess than powdery facets. That said, although the opening has an aromatic and dry aspect, the olfactory journey is ambery and smooth. Bois Precious brings together the woody side that men appreciate, and the sensual creaminess of amber, which women like to exhale so much. Therefore, I can say that it is a perfectly unisex niche fragrance, which smells of family, love, and autumn. On my skin, it behaved linearly and didn't reveal much of the honey and leather notes. However, the vanilla is formidable and has been worked on to exude more of its creamy nuances. I already talked about comfort, right? Bois Precious is not a very innovative fragrance for me, considering my years of work with the Niche, Indie, and Luxury Perfumery segments. But it is the type of product that I can see a high sales rate if properly presented in a specialized retailer. It pleases easily, conveys luxury, has good performance, and Italian origin. It's like being part of Milan Fashion Week from anywhere else in the world.
