Oud Khasian

In the same vein with Tom Ford Oud Wood. It's closer to Ex Nihilo Bois d'Hiver than to Oud Wood. It is a perfect professional gentleman perfume with strong cardamom and woodsy notes. Perfect quality niche perfume here, very well blended and smooth as expected from ArteOlfatto. I found this perfume with attractive price in discounters, I just couldn't resist and bought a backup bottle) It has a soft sillage with an arms length scent bubble but longevity is very good (as it is an extrait concentration), waay better than Tom Ford Oud Wood. In short I am extremely content with the purchase! If you like Tom Ford Oud Wood, I guarantee that you will like this at least as much as Oud Wood) My Score: 9/10

Oud Khasian was launched in 2015 and its concept speaks of a complex, dark, and mysterious fragrance. Its name pays homage to one of the existing species of Aquilaria, in this case, Aquilaria Khasiana, which can be found in Bangladesh and India. Oud Khasian's fragrance is woody-spicy and has top notes of cardamom, rosewood, and black pepper; Heart notes of sandalwood, vetiver, OUD, and soft woods accord; Base notes of tonka bean, vanilla, and ambergris. Oud Khasian appears to be a relaunch of OUD Eau de Parfum, a fragrance from the brand's first discontinued collection, as the current composition lists notes of red saffron and ambergris. On the skin, it's the fragrance that portrays the OUD ingredient in the smoothest way I've ever felt. I confess that I was even a little disappointed, such expectations created by the name it bears. Oud Khasian touches the skin in a spicy and bitter way. And for a long time, everything revolves around the cardamom note. Actually, as is common in compositions that praise this note, the scent stays close to the skin, without leaving much of a trace. It's a cardamom delight, no doubt. But still, at this stage, I still expect the full power of the Indian OUD. Time passes, the fragrance loses projection, and the woods begin to take care of the drying process. The sandalwood, for example, is more discreet, while rosewood reveals some dry and slightly sweet nuances. On my skin, the vetiver delivers discreet earthy facets that exude now and then. The base notes help a lot in the longevity of the fragrance on the skin, especially the amber used. The dry down has a creamy and, at the same time, slightly salty side. Unlike the other fragrances from the brand that I've evaluated so far, Oud Khasian doesn't have the performance that the name promises, at least in terms of the trail. Truth be told, it even lasts a long time on my skin, but it stays very close and smooth. Also, it requires a higher number of sprays to make me satisfied with the fact that I'm wearing a niche Italian scent. For me, Oud Khasian is a beautiful and strong name. But if it were called Wood Cardamom it would make more sense to what it delivers.

This is nothing like what I was expecting, and not in a good way. It's not necessarily unpleasant, but it's extremely floral with saffron and a rosy note drowning out most of the other notes. There is some nice oud and tonka bean underneath the floral notes, and you can tell that it would be an excellent fragrance if it weren't for the overwhelming flowery blast. Thankfully, the dominant flower garden impression eventually yields some ground to the other notes and grows a bit more balanced, but it remains too strong for my tastes. I was expecting and hoping for a woodier fragrance. This is definitely a feminine fragrance in my opinion, something for an older gal. The projection is good, strong but not overpowering.

I hate to break this to you- and no not the fact that this is a bit of a smokier Tom ford oud wood which I don't mind- but the name Khasian actually means testicles in Arabic!!! I don't know what the brand was thinking but it ended up naming this perfume really badly 🤣🤣🤣 Edit: thanks to rou(above) but I think they still could have phrased it better...without leaving the letter "a" 🤣🤣 I still think it was not aptly named. cos'è questo?? Anyways it wants to smell like oud wood by tom ford so where's the authenticity?

@Taleb Come on!!! Aquilaria Khasiana is one of the 3 types of aquilaria trees in india, oud khasiana is coming from Aquilaria khasiana plantation in mountains in north eastern India
