Royal Fame by Assala Prime — The Sauvage Elixir Alternative Nobody Talks About I need to say this first: this fragrance is going to divide people... but so does the original inspiration. A lot of people judge fragrances like this without realizing something important — not everyone loves Dior Sauvage Elixir either. Sauvage Elixir itself is a bold, mature, spicy aromatic fragrance. Some people think it’s a masterpiece; others think it’s too strong, too mature, too heavy, or simply not their style. Royal Fame takes inspiration from that DNA, but it does its own interpretation. You get that powerful masculine aromatic feeling with lavender, citrus, spices, and a classy gentleman profile with woods, amber, vanilla, and earthy notes. To my nose, don’t expect an exact Sauvage Elixir copy. It lives in the same universe: elegant, spicy, aromatic, confident — but it has its own personality. And this is where people get confused: if someone dislikes Royal Fame, it doesn't automatically mean it's a bad fragrance. They may simply not like this type of DNA. Even the original Dior Sauvage Elixir has many people who don’t connect with that powerful, mature, modern barbershop style. For the price, Royal Fame surprised me. It delivers a premium feeling, good presence, and that bold confident character without spending designer money. If you don’t enjoy strong spicy lavender fragrances, this probably won’t change your mind. Final rating: 8/10 for the price. Don’t buy it expecting a $200 Dior bottle. Buy it because you enjoy that Sauvage Elixir-inspired DNA and want something affordable that delivers a similar experience.

#1442 in my "Tour de Fragrance" So as a couple of folks have noted this does have aspects of Dior "Sauvage Elixir", as do Azzaro "Pour Homme", "Mr. Burberry" EDP, AL Haramain "Azlan "Oud Bleu", Atralia "Amazonas Drift", Penhaligon "Zizonia", French Avenue "Enigma Une." Of that group this is the least similar to Sauvage, primarily because it lacks cinnamon. But it actually seems more like an attempt to split the difference between "Sauvage" and "Bleu de Chanel" to my nose. Olibanum, like "Sauvage Parfum", no mint or cinnamon like "BDC." I'd call it a more incense forward Armaf "Club de Nuit Blue Iconic" or Al Haramain "Amber Oud Bleu." Less fruity than Afnan "Historic Olmeda" and "9AM." Less woody than Missoni "Parfum." But primarily this is an olibanum scent, which is what I was looking for. I love it! You probably would not wear this in close spaces like car pools elevators, tight offices. More cool weather evening wear like most incense-forward fragrances. Excellent longevity and sillage. Great blind buy at $22. I have more from this brand on the way.
