Kama Carnal

I recently did a little Scent Split haul, and one of the fragrances that completely caught me off guard was Kama Carnal. I didn’t expect to fall for this one as hard as I did, but here we are. I’m starting to think I’m on a ylang-ylang kick this summer because every time I come across it done well, I can’t stop smelling my wrist. There’s something about the way it warms on the skin. It doesn’t just sit there. It blooms, becoming softer, creamier, and somehow even more beautiful as time goes on. The vanilla and coconut wrap around the ylang-ylang without taking over. Together they create something that feels refreshing but still has presence. It’s not one of those barely-there summer scents. It has body, warmth, and this effortless elegance that keeps drawing me back. One thing I noticed almost immediately is that you can actually see the oils in the fragrance. It leaves the most beautiful, subtle sheen on my skin, and to me, that’s one of those little details that speaks to the quality of the perfume. It feels rich without ever feeling heavy. The dry down is what really sealed it for me. Every time I caught another whiff, it seemed even better than the last. Those are the fragrances I end up falling in love with. This was easily the standout of everything I sampled. There wasn’t even a moment of hesitation after wearing it. It’s absolutely full bottle worthy, and I’ll definitely be adding a full bottle to my collection.

Kama Carnal is a warm, creamy fragrance that leans feminine and enveloping. Inspired by stories of sensuality and lovers meeting beneath a full moon by a lotus lake, it certainly conveys intimacy and quiet romance. Yet, despite its beautiful inspiration, it doesn't feel especially distinctive to me.

I think there are better tropical white florals. There was something in here that smelled like butter, and it just all seemed like a bit of a mishmash/
