This cherry–frankincense accord gives the top notes a sophisticated, almost leather-like edge right from the start.The star, of course, is the saffron in the heart: rich, warm, honeyed, and unmistakably luxurious, with that subtle metallic-leathery facet that only top-tier saffron absolute delivers. Nelly Hachem-Ruiz balances it perfectly with smoky cypriol (nagarmotha) and the balsamic, amber-like depth of cistus incanus. The result is a saffron that feels alive, textured, and three-dimensional—never flat or medicinal.As it dries down, the base of patchouli, labdanum, and oakmoss emerges: dark, resinous, slightly earthy, and incredibly elegant. The leather impression grows stronger over time without ever dominating; it’s more polished boot leather than raw hide. Performance is outstanding—easily 10+ hours on skin with very good projection for the first three, then a compelling, intimate trail that still gets noticed.If you love saffron fragrances with character (think the depth of Mona di Orio’s Nuit Noire mixed with the refined leather of Chanel’s Cuir de Russie, but centered on a radiant saffron heart), Shakti Saffron belongs in your collection.
