Mimosa Indigo

The most fantastic perfume by Atelier Cologne. Rich and velvety, it's an ambitious and sophisticated Autumnal scent. Quality Leather tanning, powdery Tangerine, purple pistils of Lilac, smoked Sandalwood and a saffron Vanilla. It's a fancy European scent that reminds me of France. Some say they detect milky coconut cream, lavender and almond ? For me, it's rather woody, dark and dimensional. The dry down is intimidating and cabalistic. I prefer this perfume to Tom Ford "Fcking Fabulous" although they're similar. Classified as "Leather" that doesn't do it any justice because it's closer to an "Oriental Floral". Different from the usual and ordinary Mimosa, this one is a transitional and singular fragrance. My husband loves and wears it too, since it's quite masculine. Powerful and empowering, it lasts 9 hours on my skin. If you want to get noticed, and if you can handle it, that's the perfume for you. The signature scent of Thomas Shelby from Peaky Blinders. ❤️ 9/10 ❤️ Hermès copied it 6 years later and named it "Violette Volynka" without any shame.

Lovely woody mimosa with tart and powdery qualities. I can also feel a bit of animalic and leathery osmanthus in here, even though it’s not listed. I think it’s super nice, and it’s more of soft suede scent rather than actual floral one. I will consider purchasing a 30ml bottle. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

What I love about this is that it is such a true leather smell, but it's still totally unisex and can be rocked by a woman. It is very much a cologne in that despite the rugged and rich leather, it is fresh and cool. Slightly fruity, slightly floral, entirely wonderful!

As is the case with most Ateliers I've tried, the only part of Mimosa Indigo that has any power to speak of is the opening. And while that's a plus for the brand's more citrus-focused colognes, where I tend to enjoy the zesty, sparkling openings a lot more than the aromatic drydowns, it's kind of a shame for this one. Not that I have anything against the opening phase, which features a brief flash of lime followed by a nice leather/saffron combination... but to my nose, the magic doesn't really start to happen until the early drydown, when the mimosa note joins the composition - and by then, most of the projection is already gone. That lovely, subtly sweet and even vaguely juicy accord is such a great complement for the leather accord, so it's too bad I have to sniff my wrist in order to enjoy the effect. And then an hour or two later there's nothing left even that close to the skin. This very subtlety can also be an advantage, of course: I'm sure my perfume-hating colleague was very pleased with me today. But except to those working in environments where perfumes aren't officially allowed, or those with enough money to apply lavishly, and then reapply frequently, I don't think I could recommend this one to anyone, however much I like it.

I loved the scent at first but later I found out the performance is bad. I bought it because I loved the scent at the counter but the more I wore it, the more frustration I had for it. It only lasted 3 hours MAX. I had to keep reapplying it thru out the day. Then I started looking for better quality niche fragrances (yea, I don’t like designer fragrances). This started me get addicted to the good fragrances (Initio, Kilian, MFK, Nishane, Frederick Malle, Roja, etc). They hurt my bank but after you tried the Atelier Cologne, you would know how to appreciate these good fragrances. Any of these brands would last double longer on you and most importantly, more unique scents. I thought Atelier Cologne was unique but NO, compare to these brands. Now I only use it as a room scent since I really want to finish the bottle. It smells good but the quality and performance don’t worth the money.

Reminds me of a female equivalent of Atelier Colognes Figuier Ardent. I don't like it as much as figuier ardent, but this also develops into some sort of coconutty scent on my skin for some reason. Reminds me also of some sort of almond hand creams that women are using. The vanile is beautiful and the leather is also blended in well (maybe a tad too strong). I get a lot of floral notes, especially during the first 10 minutes. Then it quickly develops into a warm scent. I can sometimes smell the citrus, but it doesn't blend in well. I don't know, it's a pleasant scent and it's on the better side of fragrances, but still no love for me. The floral notes are not convincing me. Only a like, since the musky vanile x leather x sandalwood combo is great.

I enjoy this fragrance, but I can't love it. It's a terrible value. I want a perfume (or cologne absolue, whatever) priced at $150 for 30ml to knock my socks off, send them out for laundering, and fold them neatly in the drawer. Mimosa Indigo doesn't even roll them down. It's a very pleasant blend of natural smelling citrus, florals, and leather for casual wear - no synthetic aromachemical harshness, but neither any spectacular development over time or extraordinary performance. There is no shortage of perfectly serviceable cheap juice to fit this use case. A bottle of rare vintage Eau Sauvage would probably come out ahead on price.

I get a heck of a lot more leather from this than Atelier's Gold Leather. I really don't get why this has so many dislikes. It's a downright lovely leather, actually it's my favorite with a prominent leather note so far. It isn't ever harsh or sharp. Overall smells very refined and soft thanks to the floral notes. I basically detect strong leather the whole way through and all the other notes just add slight nuances and depth, only playing a supporting role. At the end of the drydown it is sweeter and more vanillic.

First blast of warm soft leather woods and saffron, rotating equally between those three notes. It's sweet and softly dusky, like a warm autumn night in the forest wearing your favourite old suede jacket. The floral fruity sweetness seems to intensify as it warms on my skin turning faintly baby powder-ish now, I suppose that's the lilac and vanilla. Performance doesn't seem to be there though; maybe it's the weather lately as nothing seems to be sticking to my skin. Unisex and best for cool weather.

Luxury creamy leathery tuberose, suits to a strong modern woman in the leather chic jacket with a red lipstick and a blond bob cut. This evokes this perfume to me. If anybody is interested, send me a message, I have almost two thirds of the bottle for 90 euros. Slovakia, Europe.

first off i mostly smell coconut, then i get a hint of something smoky, which i am guessing is leather but doesn't really smell like leather. the mimosa is a little quieter, in the background. it smells very tropical honestly, because the coconut is so strong.i don't seem to get citruses, lilac or saffron. this is pretty linear and dries down to a soft vanilla-musk.

Meh. Thank goodness. I like enough Atliers as it is. This is mostly a mediocre leather; it starts that way (even in the bergamot top notes) and quickly gets to the middle leather-sandalwood-lilac (adds a bread-like scent somehow--think En Passant), and then the sweet mimosa comes through, eventually winning over the leather. I really like mimosa, but the leather somehow cancels it out, or makes it generic, and the laundry musk amplifies that generic mall-frag sweetness. I like leather too, but I like my leathers a little more pure and animalic. This is mostly discordant and not FB worthy. Try before you buy and wear it a few times before the big spend.

Atelier makes some nice subtle scents. I am not a fan of many but appreciate what they bring to the table. This one here is a complete dud though. It is so soft and not recognizable after 2 hours. It sits too close to the skin especially considering the price. Now as far as the scent goes, I get a light creamy floral blend with a touch of soft leather. It has a delicate sweetness to it and would be a perfect Spring/Fall scent for the right person but not me. Sandalwood is the main note that I am getting. I could be wrong but I don't see many guys owning this one.

I struggle with this scent. On the first whiff, I get leather, pine (think antiseptic) and sarsaparilla. The cloyingness does subside, however, and the fragrance settles into something more pleasant and vanilla-ery. If the notes are something you naturally favour then I recommend you try it for yourself as I am not usually drawn to mimosa or leather scents.

While I appreciate the risk taking of mixing two notes that are an odd pair - mimosa and leather - I don’t care for the results. The leather note is too challenging for me, and I get a cheap, cigar room vibe: a dimly lit space filled with men who work for the mafia, sitting in over-sized, dark furniture. Uncomfortable.

I used to walk by a mimosa tree when I went to primary school and loved the smell on late winter and spring. This fragrance, though, smells like a very leathery play-doh with hints of vanilla, mimosa, musk, and signature Atelier Cologne vibe in the background. Quite unique, but not pleasant.

If you are looking for mimosa, this is not it. I struggle to find it there (and I am a lover of mimosa, with Fragonard's Mimosa being an oft-used scent for me). Atelier Cologne has a strange approach to perfume naming: some names, such as Trefle Pur and Philtre Ceylan, are very descriptive; and some, such as this one, are confusing. There is quite a lot of drama in the way this perfumes develops on a person. It would be a great tool to educate someone about base, heart, and top notes, as they are all quite different -- it's rare that a perfume undergoes such a dramatic transformation over such a short time span. It's quite an olfactory journey. It opens like a combination of department store perfumes -- that pleasant generic perfume scent that is not too cloying, not too heavy, not to floral. Pleasant enough, but certainly not special. If there is any mimosa, it is here in the top notes somewhere, but it disappears all too quickly. Then it gets more interesting. I get powdered assam on dry down. A bit of bergamot. And only *then* I get leather. And then it gets darker and tarter and muskier. At some point, you are left with nothing floral (and still no mimosa!), but with that kind of leather smell that a tannery would have. Or your cobbler. It has that lingering chemical smell of leather glue (resin in perfume context, I guess) that is sharp and almost unpleasant. I know the description promises some spices, such as saffron, but I don't really get that. I can see buying this as an elegant and expensive gift: it's not too extreme and should be suited to most women, yet has some interesting facets to it.

I am a huge mimosa fan. It's one of the most delicate and dreamy floral scents in the world. I am also a huge Atelier fan. I think Atelier has created some amazing, high quality fragrances in the short five years they have existed. Orange Sanguinne is easily the best citrus scent. Trefle Pur is a gorgeous uplifting green scent; their Neroli is fantastic, their vanilla is wonderful; their Oolong Infini is a lovely tea scent, and so on. But sometimes they name scents just so oddly. Mimosa Indigo doesn't smell anything like mimosa to me. In fact, if I didn't know, and wasn't searching, I wouldn't even notice if there is, in fact, a mimosa quality at all. What Mimosa Indigo IS is a leather scent. Leather is the most prominent feature after about 2 minutes in, and the leather builds and builds to being the lead actor with a bit of musky base. So, if you love leather scents, try this. I'm not into leather at all so this was a massive fail for me. And, if you love mimosa, you might want to skip this - there's nothing delicate or floral or sweet going on here.
