Riviera Sunrise

So good. Smells like if oranges were made of sunshine. It's juicy, zesty, and photorealistic, but so beautifully blended with the cedar that it feels more like a full bodied fragrance than your average freshie. Upon first spray I get the bight, juicy mandarin. Then the orange and greenness of basil and fig leaf come in, and a cedar that is sweet and woody. Together, the citrus, sweet cedar, and juicy greenness are harmonious and radiant. Feels like golden hour on my skin, and is hands down my favorite fragrance in the Riviera line. Kind of surprised to see people on here talking about bad longevity because that hasn't been my experience at all. On my skin this is one of the longest lasting citrus frags. I get easily six hours of sweet, full bodied, golden glow citrus. Just goes to show how body chemistry can play such a big role in the performance of fragrances I guess.

This is such a lovely fragrance! Definitely unisex (leaning on the feminine side a bit) and definitely for spring/summer (especially summer) I agree with the reviews saying it smells like pez candies and orange popsicles, the citrus start of very juicy and slightly bitter and dries down in the background to more of an orange pez scent. When the citrus fades (doesn’t disappear but fades a lot) the orange blossom takes stand and give you this luscious white floral scent that ends up being very summery. The basil gives it a touch of aromatic goodness and the fig leaf gives it a touch of greeness. It’s very well done. It’s not sharp and very well rounded due to the base notes of this fragrance. I feel like if you don’t like citrus it’s safe to still give this one a try since it’s not sharp and it’s kinda beachy.

This smells like an orange pop sickle from childhood and is so refreshing on the hot 100+ California days. Reminds me of Biarritz and some fantastic niche orange perfumes that I already own such as the delightful Adameku, but I took the splurge because it very good. If you love orange, lemon and mandarin like I do, you have to get your nose on this. FB worthy for summer and early fall. I think this is unisex leaning slightly feminine. I would say it is a refined orange scent. I pick up the vetiver in the dry down, giving it a slight green and woodsy twist. The best of the Riviera series. Frankly, IMO, the best out of the white capped bottles as well. I have tried them all, and of the freshies and light florals, I prefer this one the best.

Believe the hype. One of the best unisex citrus scents I've ever smelled. Citrusy, zesty, fresh and breezy in a natural, elevated way. Slightly green. Vibrant and almost juicy in a way that reminds me of freshly squeezed citruses. Orange is the star of the show. Versatile - good for the office, special occasions and casual (yet put-together) wear. I would reach for it during daytime in spring and summer. Beautiful bottle and luxury presentation. I received a discovery set and I loved the simple yet sophisticated design and rubbery texture of the boxes. If you like the Mediterranean-style citrus scents, you could probably blind-buy it.

A beautiful, realistic orange fragrance. Wears relatively light, but is strong in the first hour. It seems to project well in this period too and eventually calms down closer to the skin. It has decent longevity for a citrus summer fragrance. Relatively linear overall, so you'll have to like orange as a note to appreciate this one. I love this. It's exactly what I want it to be.

This is a great summer fragrance. More lemony in the opening than expected but it passes rapidly into a sweet but still tart scent. Oddly enough the scent reminds me of the Pez candies I ate as a child...and I like it. If it was earlier in the year I would buy a full bottle, but since Fall is just around the corner, I will hold off until next spring.

It is a lovely citrus scent. A fantastic summer fragrance! I was obsessed with the first sample I smelled & I had to get a full bottle. It wears so well in high heat & humidity. The bottle is beautiful! .... Love her. 🩵

This is so, so good. I'm a huge fan of neroli, but most of the time it goes into a bath soap direction. This doesn't do that. Such a fresh and delicious take on the orange blossom freshie.

Riviera Sunrise is one of the four fragrances from the Atelier Des Ors Riviera collection, with the others being, Pomelo Riviera, Riviera Drive and Riviera Lazuli. To start off, presentation is phenomenal. The bottle is amazingly well made, is decently heavy and has a metal cap. The colours used are so eye catchy as well and immediately make you think of the Mediterranean sea/French Riviera and the coastal towns along it like Nice, Monaco, Cannes and the Amalfi Coast. The juice also has gold flakes inside of it like all the other fragrances from the house of Atelier Des Ors so that too adds a very nice luxury touch to the experience. This fragrance in particular was a blind buy for me as I had no one around me selling these or offering decants. I was looking for a citrusy, fresh fragrance for my more casual outings in high blistering heat and while it has been a solid buy it is not my favourite from the line. Atelier Des Ors sent me a testers kit along with my full size bottle of Riviera Sunrise and that is how I got to try the other ones from the line. This scent is very linear, nothing about it is unique or special or complex. It is an orange heavy fragrance from start to end with the opening being a mix of the peel of a mandarin orange along with the juice of an orange. The smells are incredibly realistic and natural so if you want to sample the opening on a budget at home, pour yourself a glass of 100% orange juice, grab an orange peel and smell both together - that's the opening to a tee. This lasts for around 2-3 minutes and immediately following it you begin to smell the green notes in this fragrance. The smell of basil is quite strong and you also get a very slight grassy/inside of a leaf vein smell which I assume is the Fig leaf in this fragrance. The smell of the orange blossom at this point is not very detectable at least to my nose. The florals in this come in 15 minutes following your spray. This is the part where I feel this fragrance is not quite what I thought it would be. Reading the notes before I blind bought it, I thought this would be a citrus bomb and would be incredibly fresh for the hottest days of the year but the green accords in this turn this into something I don't like very much. It's decent but I would never order it again nor recommend it to anyone. The one saving grace for this fragrance is that every note smells so realistic that it's hard for you to draw the parallel between this and a bathroom cleaner although I feel the notes are all there trying to get your mind to go there the second you smell it. If Atelier Des Ors had compromised even a little on the quality of ingredients used in this, this would smell exactly like a bathroom detergent. The performance is pretty decent for a freshie and you can expect a solid 6-8 hours of longevity. It projects like a beast for the first 1-2 hours but then becomes a lot more intimate till you can't smell it anymore on skin 11-12 hours after spraying. On clothes this will last you a full day. If you want a really refreshing citrus burst, I'd recommend you pick Pomelo Riviera which is one of the most beautiful openings to a fresh fragrance I've ever smelt sadly the citrus top notes of that fragrance are about the only thing you'll smell and it also does not last long at all. The best of the line in my opinion is Riviera Lazuli. It's a gorgeous fragrance that is both sophisticated and fresh and the complex nature of it means you will go on an olfactory journey with it having to spend a good few hours wearing it before you can smell all the notes that go into making it. It is also the most niche like in its quality and the one most worthy of a full bottle purchase. If you absolutely love orange (not citrus in general but orange!) then you will like Riviera Sunrise however if you want something really fresh, inoffensive, clean, citrusy yet unique, go with Riviera Lazuli. If you want the fragrance equivalent of a cold glass of iced water on a sweltering hot day, get Pomelo Riviera.

Riviera Sunrise is the perfume for those who love mandarins/oranges above all others citruses. In my experience this is all that Riviera Sunrise is about: oranges and mandarins. I wouldn’t necessarily say that the rest of the notes are no show in the composition but far in the background... The scent itself is fairly linear, I’d say has some florals and fig nuances in the heart that maybe you can detect and it’s more musky, woody in the dry down but not particularly complex or multifaceted. Doesn’t have anything unique or outstanding about it, so for 200euros, save your money and get yourself a bottle of Aqua Allegoria Mandarin Basilic for half of the money with double the longevity of Riviera Sunrise! I am afraid that the Riviera Collection goes on the same path with Memory Lane and Les Frivolites collections, beautiful, natural smelling perfumes that last for half an hour or so and costs a small fortune! No, thanks. Edit: at five hours mark is nothing more than a skin scent. Simply not worth Atelier des Ors prices.

Smells like a smoother, more expensive take on Artisan Pure by John Varvatos. RS is a little less green and a little juicier in the opening, but the exact same scent profile. The real differences between the two start to occur around the mid, where Riviera Sunrise maintains its high quality appeal. A simple but addictive scent. Because of the jump in quality, I like this more than AP, but because of the similarity in profile, this is overpriced. It is nice though. A solid 'like'. The gold flakes feel unnecessary though. Even from my sample, I'm left with tiny flecks of gold on the back of my hand, and that automatically makes me think I wouldn't want to spray this on my clothes, let alone on my skin.

run of the mill citrus freshie, doesn't teeter on bathroom cleaner like many tend to i'll give it that. very pleasant, nice bottle, and you can find it for a very good price at discounters. also kinda feels like it last about 2 hours unfortunately.

This is one of those perfect perfumes that breaks your heart with worthless longevity. And at this absolutely unhinged price point that's totally unacceptable. So to start, I actually first tried this in a dabber sample and fell in love. After some hours, I could still smell it clinging to my wrists from just the little splash I had put on. Of course I got virtually no projection, but that's pretty common for a dabber. I was very encouraged by the longevity, though, especially from a citrus perfume, so I decided to order a decant from Scent Split (they use very good atomizers and I've never found their bottles to affect longevity). When it arrived, I drenched myself in it. Within literal minutes it was gone. It was barely detectable on my skin. I sprayed again, more generously. Within minutes, gone again. I went absolutely ham spraying my neck, arms, shirt, and hair, and after ten minutes asked my husband how I smelled and he said I didn't smell like anything. Thank goodness for Scentsplit, because if I ever did decide to splurge on the bottle (very rarely will I pay so much, and the scent has to be totally worth it in every way) I'd have been furious. So, nonexistent longevity or sillage aside, the scent: incredible, for the brief moment it lasts. It smells like fresh, bright citrus, with only the barest hint of sweetness, mellowed and given body by basil and fig leaf. There is a perfect spiciness from the cedar and the vetiver, and a very neutral musk ties it all together. The orange blossom is not very floral, but more gives the impression that you are smelling an entire citrus tree. It's beautifully done, perfectly unisex, totally refreshing, and absolutely stunning. If it lasted literally at all, even just a few hours, I'd be saving my pennies and waiting for a sale to snag a bottle. This one is a total heartbreaker.

It’s fruity, like orange candy, with light citrus. Then a note breaks the orange candy smell, hard to describe, slightly bitter and green, but it doesn’t match the current orange accord, it would fit better with bright citrus scents 70% orange candy, like lollipops or orange soda 7.5% citrus 7.5% musk 10% white florals 5% green notes Unbalanced, but acceptable as a fruity, youthful or feminine fragrance. But honestly, it’s not worth more than $50. But you’ll never find it for $50, so I wouldn’t recommend it at all even if you find it for $70 or $90 Average, or below average Not bad, but you can find the same fruity profile in fragrances under $25, most of them similar or better than this Scent 6.9/10 Price to value 5/10

This is a very summery fragrance. The opening smells like freshly torn mandarin peel—that slightly bitter, citrusy aroma that leaves an oily trace on your fingertips. Lemon, orange, and mandarin all burst out together, with a hint of juicy sweetness, but it passes quickly. Then the scent of leaves and grass comes forward, like a breeze moving through trees—slightly damp, a little green, with the smell of freshly crushed basil. It feels so natural, almost like taking a walk through a garden. At that point, the air around it carries that warm, sun-softened scent, as if it’s evaporating straight from leaves and petals. It gives the impression of being somewhere in a small Mediterranean town. The bottle itself is the color of the sea under sunlight, and the flecks of gold inside look like the shimmer of light reflecting on the surface of the water at sunrise. As if you dipped your hands into the sea and caught a few pieces of sunlight in your palms. It’s rare to see a fragrance whose name matches its character this well. The drydown settles nicely with a light woody touch. There’s no powderiness at all; the whole scent stays fresh and bright from beginning to end. If you don’t mind spending over a hundred euros on a summer fragrance with very short longevity but a beautiful wearing experience, Riviera Sunrise is a very good choice.

This baby has a beautiful sillage, it smells sweet and fresh when you get whiffs of it, I really enjoyed it. But, since I just can't stand orange blossom and neroli because it triggers my gag reflex, it just didn't work for me. I still recommend it, most people like orange blossom and this perfume smells like those fresh flowers with citrus, a touch of basil and musk. This perfume reminds me SO MUCH of Jardin D'Amalfi (which everyone loves, but I can't stand the neroli) and Un Jardin Sur La Lagune (which has pitosporum, which smells like orange blossom). So... this is a nice, a bit original fresh scent thanks to the basil note, it lasted more than Pink Me Up, on my skin, more than 3 hours in my perfume eating skin. I think that if you like orange blossom and citrus fragrances, this is for you. Even I will enjoy smelling it on you, since it has a deliciously fresh sillage. I just don't like it up close, AKA when I bring my wrist to my nose. I recommend this in spite of my personal taste. And the bottle is so cute, I wish I would've like this scent for myself...

Very straightforward but still sophisticated citrus perfume. Slightly more lemon-sour than mandarin-sweet. The perfume description by the company is really precise - it gives this radiant, full of health and energy feeling of summer mornings at the sea, and specifically the Mediterranean sea. A nice summer perfume.

I was trying to figure out why this scent was so nostalgic to me. And i figured it out, it smells like the hot towels the airline handed out when i used to fly as a child.

To me this pulls very very, very sharp. This is so screechy it gives me a headache.
