Villa Primerose

Villa Primerose is very well balanced, no notes are too much. There is a gorgeous fruity-peppery side, but it is crisp, vibrant and refreshing instead of overwhelmingly jammy. The musk is felt all the way through the composition, it seems to be that detergent type of musk, without any animalic tones. It is an extremely pleasant rose in the realm of Roses Musk, Delina, Angel Nova, but Villa Primerose is much calmer, more sophisticated and easier on the nose.

I thought this would be a boring rose scent, but I really like it?? It’s so juicy, with pear and I swear there’s a little blackcurrant too. Slightly leathery undertones, but I don’t get a huge amount of musk

Despite the low rating and negative reviews, I actually really enjoy this release. It reminds me somewhat of Carmina, but much brighter. The leather is subtle and pleasant. It is moderately sweet.

The opening is sweet, soft, and fruity floral. Pear sweetness, pink pepper, and rose blend together very quickly. It is a pretty opening, though not especially striking, because this kind of sweet rosy fruit accord is already very common in perfumery. My first impression was therefore more about wearability, softness, and polish rather than surprise. The bottle made a stronger visual impression than the scent itself, and admittedly I do occasionally buy fragrances because of beautiful packaging. The fragrance is clearly centered around rose. Even after one or two hours, the rose remains very noticeable. This is a soft pink toned rose with a gentle sweetness, combined with the slightly dry texture often found in modern woody fragrances. The leather is almost entirely decorative. It functions more like a subtle outline around the composition, so anyone who normally dislikes leather fragrances can practically ignore it here. The drydown becomes a lightly powdery woody floral. On my skin, iris and musk never become particularly dominant. The overall impression remains rose, soft leather, and a touch of dry woody sweetness. What it does well is presenting rose in a soft and elegant way, then controlling the sweetness with light leather and woods so that it never feels overly girlish. The result is a clean, mature, very easy to wear everyday rose fragrance.

A gorgeous bright rose and leather combo. I’m not the biggest rose fan so I’m surprised I’m enjoying this. I detect the pear and pepper instantly but I’m still searching for the cardamom. The Rose here is very similar to another Marie Salamange offering Rose de Aribe, but the pear keeps it fresher than in that one. However I do find the two quite comparable. If you replace the oud in that one with leather and add a bright fruity pear you might get an idea of how this one smells. It’s a gorgeous fragrance, really beautiful but I couldn’t justify the money for this one, it’s just a little too unoriginal for me personally. However if I seen it at a good price I’d definitely consider it because there’s not a lot of rose fragrances I particularly enjoy. The performance seems really good so far, great projection. Can’t comment on the longevity yet. I’ll try to remember to come back and update when I figure that out.

The bottle is beautiful, the pink ombre glass and the floating gold scales promise a dreamy, princess like scent. The scent is much more mature and heavy than expected. The pink pepper and the leather gives a punch, the roses and musk, the woody notes are intense and somewhat harsh? with time the scents becomes softer and very pretty but never like what the bottle seemed to promise...it is mature. Like a serious older sister to Delina and Montale Roses Musk... If I smelled this without looking at the bottle I would picture a professional lady in her 30-40s wearing a tailored suit going to a work meeting. Sample it first. This is a grown a.. woman scent.

A velvety pink rose, with a sheer but diffusive effect. Pear gives a creamy, musky feel to the rose. Instead of being paired with the usual lemon or peony, this pink rose perfume has wood and leather that give it a little more seriousness and depth and mysterious dark tones. Specifically there’s amberwood to give it endurance but it must be just a couple drops, it’s used just right, and the perfume remains sheer. Pretty and very easy to wear, a true 4 season fragrance. Anyone anywhere could wear this, it’s a crowd pleaser. Villa Primerose lasts a full 8 hours on skin and has arms length projection.

Really? Rose tinged alcohol??? I've tried enough from this brand to conlcude that it is absolute trash...well at least the last 10 releases Update: Ok ok upgraded to like. The wafts you get is nice. I really hate amberwood but I do not get any harshness here. It's thorny spikey minty rose. Might get full bottle because the bottle is pretty lol

Opens with a bit of pear and pink pepper, but then I really get the rose and leather. Reminds me of Galop d'Hermes, which I love.

Pretty airy rose scent w a touch of citrus. V elegant. Gets stronger with your body heat

initial wear: its a feminine rose with an opening of pear and heavy pink pepper. I dont pick up cardamom, which tends to be pretty noticeable typically. the ambrette/iris/leather combo I think is the lotiony aspect I smell. i don't think its dry and i don't think its juicy, as others have gotten. the ambrette i think grounds it. it seems too mild and polite to wear in any season but spring. I don't find it boring at all. I am also not particularly attached to it. right now its a take it or leave it. but I will keep testing.

What comes to the bottle it gives many expectations about the scent and in this case those don't mach with the reality. I was waiting something more rosy and feminine, something alluring and attractive. Actually I was about to blind buy this one like almost all of my perfumes but luckily I didn't. Some may expect something girly as well but no, this is not. This scent is quite mature. There is nothing pink here imo if thinking only this bottle. But if I compare for example with "Pink Me Up | Atelier des Ors" the bottle looks exactly like the scent is smelling - pink, uplifting, sweet and rosy - and therefore this scent is like a totally faded and dried version of that, very, very light baby pink and totally light petals which barely has a smell. I love roses and different kind of rose scents like Iris scents as well but I feel that this scent is not for me. Roses and iris are there but they seem to come and go and they are very subtle. They are dry but not powdery and there is missing a soft, a slightly sweet aroma from the combination of Ambrette and Musk. Instead of powdery this feels earthy on my skin which is strange. I don't find here any lipsticky vibe nor vintage feeling. It would be nice if there was just a little hint of sweetness but I don't get it, not even in the opening where should be Pear. This has nothing to do with Delina either. Villa Primerose is not a bad scent but it's a bit boring scent without a soul. Normally I get some associations by smelling different scents, I see different kind of scenes when closing my eyes and smelling the perfume but with this one nothing happens. Because of that, I see this as an utterly safe scent for the office or anywhere where you have to be "neutral" and not showing your own personality. If you need that kind of scent I think you should try this one. If you are trying to find some unforgettable scent or signature scent, this is not what you are looking for. I find something immediately abrasive about this. In spite of it being presented as this plush, leathery, musky rose, there is a shrill underline to it all. It's that brittle shriek of amber woody aromachems that I have grown so weary of in releases of recent years. Their penetrating nature clearly are commercially viable given their use, but I feel like they flatten any spirit and soul that could otherwise be present in perfume. I partly blame it on the social media, in particular the TikTok era, where memes of performance and results-driven expectations have become such an obsession that the industry has responded in kind and the resultant creations are these monstrous Frankenstein scents lacking in nuance and oppresively powerful in sillage. Whatever core of their concepts are held hostage: rose is muffled, iris is forced into "bomb" status (eye roll), and musks are bossy globules. This release is a sign of the times, and I must wash it off so I can sleep.

Arabian musky rose perfume rebottled. I am sincerely shocked at these launches, which I find offensive for the rest of the line, that is pretty good otherwise.

people call every fragrance with rose "basic, mature and boring." but I don’t think this is that. I would consider Jo Malone’s red roses to be the most simple pure rose fragrance. This definitely has that kind of freshness and photo realism, but the rose is pink. it’s also not similar to Delina La rosee at all. It doesn’t have that watery, super bright citrus nature. it’s floral and musky with a soft fluffiness that I think comes from the iris. as it dries down on skin, you get that subtle pear, sweetness, and that cardamom. The rose stays a little bit in the background. And the Amberwood creates the strangely addictive scent trail. Something about it made me keep smelling. And I don’t even really like rose fragrances like that. this is a girl in a fuzzy cream sweater, holding a cardamom tea in one hand and a bouquet of pink roses and the other. I think the balance between the iris and the rose is really beautiful. And I don’t think this take on Rose is mature at all. It’s very modern.

This is not Delina at all. It’s very much Montale Roses Musk and Ristretto Intense Café coded but not as heavy...more floral less gourmand. It still has that coffee & rose DNA just without the heaviness. The leather in the dry down is what really gets me. Honestly this smells like me lol sipping coffee (must be the cardamom) in my BMW...soft leather interior lingering in the air while I’m wearing my signature, a rose soliflore. I picture this on a cool, rainy spring day but maybe just bc it’s not as warm and powdery as IC which I’m comparing it to. It’s the perfect level of sweetness. I usually don’t like sweet fragrances, but this works. I think the pink pepper keeps everything bright. Right away it reminded me of Intense Café so I put one on each arm...and while I normally get a strong rose from Intense Café next to this it almost smells like milk chocolate in comparison.

This perfume starts with a blast of pepper which is really off putting and misleading. I really hate the way perfumers have to add trendy notes which do not contribute anything. The initial impression is that we are going into heavy masculine oud territory- which is totally wrong. When that obnoxious pepper finally goes away, the true nature of the perfume is revealed- a pink rose musk with just a hint of leather (not enough in my opinion). This perfume is very pretty, but not at all unique. This has been done before and better by MFK (a La rose). Nevertheless it is a good perfume if you want a pretty pink rose musk and can get through the pepper phase. The bottle is stunning.

It was a while since I smelt this, but the way I remembered it was as a green, fresh rosehip scent. I wanted to buy it, but then an unpleasant note appeared, of dried rose leaves. As if dried rose leaves had been dried and stuffed into the bottle. It reminded me of that slight rancid smell that roses get when they stand around for too long. I was still considering buying it for the gorgeous top notes, and thinking maybe I can fix it using Rose Omeyyade over it, but I ultimately left it to someone else to buy.

oh I looooove this, a divine spicy woody rose, but a rose first and foremost. And not an outdated overly powdery one, a very velvety pink rose. I have to test it a little more, but unfortunately for my wallet this might have to be a full bottle, it's kinda what I wanted Rosario from House of Bo to be

This is a beautiful uplifting rose scent. I find it to be extremely elegant, feminine and romantic. This is the kind of fragrance that could work in any situation. A perfect signature scent for a woman who loves floral dresses and an overall romantic vibe.

This is primarily an Iris based fragrance with rose. Then you get the musk with a bit of leather. I get zero pear and it’s not sweet at all. The rose starts to come out more as it dries down, it’s a very light powdery rose. Basic and boring.

This brand makes one of the most gorgeous bottles to exist in perfumery. I go noseblind to certain notes and I cannot smell this one, so it must be heavy on the white musks and amberwoods. Seems like it would be a nice, office safe perfume.

Received a sample from a friend. This is nice enough. The link pepper and rose in it reminds me of Toy Boy from Moschino and I'm surprised no one mentioned it here.

I received a sample in one of The Perfume Guy's Mystery Boxes and fell in love with it. My sample is gone, but I'll have to get more. A really lovely rose scent.

I find it absolutely hilarious that these companies double their prices just to keep giving us the same, redundant scenes. I'm over it.

Beautiful waxy candy version of Delina La Rosée type fragrance. Smells fizzy, sweet and classy.
