Dame de La Nuit

Dame de La Nuit tries to convey, through a combination of accords, the scent of the flower known as Queen of the Night. The problem is that, even within Brazil, what people know as Queen of the Night can vary greatly, as I explain below. The Queen of the Night we know most easily is the bush type (Cestrum Nocturnum), which is also known as Night Jasmine and has the power to scent an entire street when it is blossoming. Another flower called Queen of the Night is the Ipomoea Alba, which I have never seen, but it is also famous for its perfume and is born from a vine. The Queen of the Night considered as the official is part of the genus Selenicereus. Its name derives from two Greek words that mean: the moon goddess + candle. Hence, the reference to its blossoming only at night. Another that also earns the title of Queen of the Night and is more common in tropical countries is the Epiphyllum type, also called Cactus Orchid. Having said that, it is worth explaining that most of the essential oils that are sold as being of this flower, are obtained through the small jasmine (Cestrum Nocturnum). Dame de La Nuit has notes of jasmine, neroli, Queen of the Night, blackberry, and Mar & Mistral on top of the composition. In the body, notes of magnolia, rose, and orchid. At the base of the pyramid, is the osmanthus flower. And before you ask me, the Mar & Mistral accord gives fresh, fruity, and aromatic facets, inspired by the wind blowing in the south of France, down the slopes. On the skin, Dame de La Nuit is a white and powerful floral, perfect for those who are not afraid to draw attention. Does it smell like the flower I own at home (Epiphyllum)? No. But during its dry down, it has the smell that exudes from the Night jasmine, which turns out to be the most popular. In here, the jasmine is the owner of the party, the orchid is the guest of honor, and the flower of osmanthus, with its exotic floral and fruity scent (reminding apricots), is the DJ. And at this party, we dance to the sour and modern sound of the blackberry and also, under the silky melody of something that reminds me of the smell of ylang-ylang. Dame de La Nuit has an old-school style when it comes to women's fragrances, but it never goes out of style, when we talk about the market. It is made with organic essential oils, in Parfum concentration, has excellent durability, and exudes a lot. And the cost-benefit ratio (120ml) impresses.
