Mr Debonair

It's a shame this got review bombed so bad by trolls as I think this is another good Atrium release, whilst it is my last favourite from the Curiosity Collection, it's still easily an 8.7 or an 8.8/ for me. This fragrance opens up with a blast of Citruses and pepery spices which is quite pleasant, after about 5-10 minutes it transforms into the core of the scent I'd say, which is mainly Suede-Iris-Vetiver, the Iris and Vetiver are more understated than the Suede, but they're still very much main players, the aforementioned Peppers from the opening also stay for a while, being around for 1 hour or a bit longer, the Oud for me only comes out after 1-2 hours and it's very faint and tame, I only particularly smell it when it put my nose straight to my skin, so don't be afraid of the oud note if you're looking to try this, its very much in the background. In terms of projection, this is an intimate-medium projection fragrance for me, it was created with it being an "office" fragrance in mind which is fine, I mean it literally is called "Mr. Debonaire" so I'd expect it to be an intimate and refined/sophisticated fragrance, longevity wise it lasts about 6 hours on my skin, but that could be due to nose blindness, as this is very intimate overall, and I go noseblind to pepper fragrances super easily. Very much a masculine fragrance that is better suited for colder weather/environments, as mentioned before its very much an office fragrance, or atlwast an environment you don't want to be wearing an overbearing fragrance in. For what it's worth, I reckon this is definitely worth a try, it appeals more to the more mature crowd but I can enjoy this scent and don't mind wearing it. This is a 8.7/10 for me

Creamy smooth sued that is not headache inducing. Very very nice. I'm already looking into getting a decant which may go into a bottle. John Stephen was the right guy for the job. Super classy and elegant and absolutely office safe. You could wear this anywhere in my opinion. There is no oud for me. It's just simply smooth. Well done.

This is great. Opens quite peppery and dries down to a soft clean iris with a slight creaminess in the back. In the same vein as babycat

***** Update***** After wearing a couple of times I can vouch for its performance. Longevity is good, over 8 hours with a close scent bubble. The scent is really nice, the note breakdown speaks of a gorgeous and classy frag with oud, vanilla, cardamom, iris, orange, suede and more but I get some pepper, hints of citrus on the top and the rest is suede. On paper it is amazing, but in reality it's just good. Changing my rank from #2 to #3 so: Mesmeric, Fragrant, Debonair, Maritime and Momentum ***************************** Takes a little bit of getting used to but once it does you're in for a ride! In all fairness I just received this last night, I tested it on my wrist and today I'm wearing for the first time. It reminds me of Issey Miyake Sport, with a peppery and citrusy opening and a leathery backbone. Really nice and classy, suits the name. I don't think it has a lot of projection, feels like a nice snug bubble scent, discreet and ideal for it's purpose which is office wear. I'll comment on performance later but so far this is a gorgeous scent but maybe more for the Connoisseur collection rather than the Curiosity. This is my 5th Atrium frag and very excited for Mr. Espresso. So far I'd rank them like this: 1) Mr. Mesmeric 2) Mr. Debonair 3) Mr. Fragrant 4) Mr. Maritime 5) Mr. Momentum (the passion fruit doesn't feel quite right to me)

This is a beautifully well blended fragrance that I was hoping to add to my collection as a full bottle but after sampling I could not get past the Suede note, it comes in the mid way too strong for my taste and makes the whole fragrance seem incomplete. Kind of like they just added the note just to fill up an empty space in the note breakdown list and not for any other reason, you already had the citrus, the aromatics, the iris, the oud, the addition of the suede was just too much and not needed. I would love to see Omar come out with a flanker to this omitting the suede note completely and maybe bumping up the iris a bit. Beautiful fragrance but not for me, taking out my bias though I'd give it a solid 8/10 just based on the perfumery and quality of ingredients. Solid 8-10 hours longevity with medium-loud projection. As always, sample first, don't blind buy.
