Aubusson Man in Blue

I feel like I gotta review this. Only 8 votes and 1 review for a moderately enjoyable fragrance? Yep. We’re doin this! Here we go... Backstory- Sampled this a summer or 2 ago in TJ Maxx and still remembered it. I sprayed it on not thinking anything of it and it surprised me. I looked up the notes here and it intrigued me. I guess you could say I made a mental note. Well I was browsing around on Fragrancenet and found it for the low risk price of $11 and change. Here are my impressions: Buying this and expecting a blue fragrance along the lines of the most popular in the category would be the first mistake. The bottle is cheap. The atomizer sprays reluctantly. But that’s not why you’re spending $11 bucks. Simply put, if you are looking for a cheap summer freshie for the daytime that avoids any citrus this may be your ticket. This is not a scent that is going to develop or bring any nuance. The words that come to mind for me when describing this to you are bright, fresh, and clean. It has an energizing but calming quality to it. Perhaps it’s a combination of the bamboo with the sea notes. I would describe the wearer of this as focused and confident yet still playful and unassuming. That being said, this is a casual scent you would wear during the day at home or running errands. You could even wear it to work but not in the business or most business casual settings. I could also see a younger person (teens or early 20’s) appreciating it more. Now, as for the fragrance itself, in the $11 range I don’t mind saying it has this fresh laundry vibe to it. Perhaps even smells like your new favorite detergent. Again, at this price point, you can expect a synthetic scent. Performance is modest and siliage is just ok. For the price it performs about like it should. It’s quite linear. In fact, at a bare minimum, add this to your cart for free shipping then use it to freshen up your clothes in the morning. Pretty nice for mornings you don’t know what to wear or (gasp) if you even want to wear cologne. Not a banger by any means. Just nice and worth its current price imo. I have this it's pretty nice got it a Marshalls for about $12.99 deffo worth it nice freshie light but only lasts 2-3 hours bit so what for the price ya can't go wrong.
