Cambridge Knight

Finally on Fragrantica! I've been waiting to sing this one's praises. As always with English Laundry, great presentation. The metallic red and gold look classy and classic. Opens with a sharp musk. A little off putting actually. Give it about five minutes. Citruses, black currant , bay leaf and lily enter the fold making it a somewhat fruity, powdery and spicy musk. Extremely clean smelling. A tiny bit floral. It stays this way for some time until the woods round out the back half, cedar dominant. Some oakmoss and patch but subdued. I guess it has an aquatic accord but I don't particularly perceive it. It's hard to really describe this one. I haven't smelled anything quite like it and it's blended so well that the individual notes are more players in an orchestra, the musk the conductor. Divinity. Absolutely great scent. I'm floored every time I wear this one. I typically smell it on myself the next day and especially on clothes. Sillage is pretty great as well. It's not knocking people in the next room out but that's not it's intention. This is a gentleman that commands attention rather than screams for it. This is easily my most complimented fragrance and for good reason. Easy to wear for all ages and situations. No seasonal hang ups either. Stellar job English Laundry!

Very enjoyable and youthful warm weather fragrance, an aquatic, marine scent filled with fresh spicy citruses of very bright grapefruit and black currant, also with beautiful florals at the top. The scent dries down and settles to more thicker notes of oakmoss, musk, patchouli and woodsy nuances, but the scent always remain refreshing, almost sour apple fruity with a little cooling watery effect, giving you a clean feeling. Yes Cambridge Knight have quite strong similarities to Invictus, Invictus Aqua by Paco Rabanne and Legend Spirit by Mont Blanc, but it is not as salty or sour, to me it is more grown up version of those mentioned but with more classy nuance because of strong oakmoss and black currant. I enjoy Cambridge Knight a lot, because it is very easy to wear and it is also simply enjoyable in the warm weather, very versatile and great compliment getter. Performance wise it is just up to average, it projects great while it lasts, but it does not last very long, specially on clothes which is very interesting. I've been hearing about English laundry I checked out the Oxford blue it was great and I want that one. I seen a little sample pack of four small bottles of English laundry for 20 bucks then I saw a 100 ml bottle of Cambridge Knight for 12.99 I smelled it and was absolutely blown away. It is sweet and fruity at the very top while at the same time being fresh and aquatic. It's a Swiss army knife fragrance meaning you can use this whenever however unfortunately the one that I picked up has an atomizer that doesn't work and it did on the other ones. Whatever I'll make it work this thing is awesome the dry down tends to mature a bit with a type of oud note going on. It's subtle but it's there. This has a little above average performance and projects pretty good for several hours. Super easy to like this fragrance it is a steal for the price they have these at the rack stores. And it doesn't smell cheap at all. Highly recommended.

Very nice warm and sensual scent. It’s my favorite from English Laundry. Would make an ideal signature scent. At first I thought it was kinda soapy and weird but then the drydown hit and I was blown away! Very magical scent! I don’t think it smells anything like any of the invictus lineup. It has way more character and class. This is what the ideal gentleman would smell like! I got lucky getting a tester of this and it’s the strongest unreformulated version. Paid about 30 bucks. Well worth it. Lasts a full day of wearing. I also grabbed a reformulated version from Burlington for 13 bucks that I will use it as a refresher to the edp. It’s essentially an edt of the original.... I truly wish English Landry would go back to their previous strengths. They make such nice scents! But over time they will become irrelevant because a half hour frag is just not worth my time.... 9.5/10 scent.

I used to get sample sprays of the original 2016 Invictus Aqua pretty often when I worked at a nice restaurant in a mall. This stuff is really close to how I remember the first Aqua being. It's missing the ambergris note from Aqua but replaces it with musk, and it's slightly less sweet, but it ends up being functionally the same thing with the same longevity. I get 4-5 hours of longevity with about 1.5-2 hours of projection, but it's good enough I spray it a few times throughout the day. My bottle was a gift, but I've heard it can be bought for under $15 at TJ Maxx, but it's not available at my location lol. Of course you can pay as much as you want for it online. I've smelled a couple other English Laundry fragrances from my friend who gave this to me, Notting Hill is my other favorite from the brand. Absolute steal for under $15 if you can find it!
