Lush Neroli

If like me, you spend a considerable amount of time in the study of perfumery, absorbing details of the divine, and the creations of man attempting to touch that which is greater than us all, you may find this perfume a trying study in absolute obscurity. The perfume itself has been constructed to rival larger houses, like that of Guerlain and Uncle Thierry's priceless Aqua Allegoria line. Finer aspects of its progression can be compared to the complexities of Hermes and Tom Ford. Yet, and tragically so, I find myself only the fifth in underscoring its contents. If you have stumbled upon this review having never heard a stitch about Aubusson, stop right now and secure a bottle of your own while it's still ridiculously low in price. Trust me, this review will wait for your return. As for myself, sighs of satisfaction are sweetened heavily, knowing I beat the crowd to something truly smart, and just prior to its availability being defined and diminished by capitalism. This is really quite special! I wish I could do better in explaining its creator, year of release, or other pertinent economic particulars. Attributes that are plain to appreciate, begin initially with legible top notes. Bright acidity bursting as pops of oils spray from the flesh of fresh bergamot. Chloroform's verdant awakening expressed with fig leaf rubbed open. Delicate membranes transverse with organic inflections of neroli, still young and lacking the acrid bitterness too often found in poorly executed perfumes. Robust suggestions of laddish fare are introduced by Geranium's metallic, herbaceous pungency. Viridescent aromas encircle capriciously fruity, black pepper and cedar wood. Sandalwood, jasmine and musk, utilized here for enhancement of the prior scintillating composition, smooth harsher tones into a shiny, silvery reflection; finalized with the photo-realistic complexity usually reserved for the natural world.

Just picked up the Lush Neroli by Parfums Aubusson Private Collection from local discounters store for $11.00, must say that I'm really enjoying the fragrance. At first, I thought this is a bit too feminine leaning (and it still may be to me). But I thought to myself, "I could definitely pull this off...". I'm a big fan of John Varvatos Artisan Pure and recently tried out the Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. I thought TF Neroli Portofino was pleasant enough, although it leans quite soapy towards the dry-down. Artisan Pure I truly enjoyed with its white floral, somewhat similar to TF in the opening. Lush Neroli is bright in the opening and leans slightly woody in the dry-down. It is very calming and refreshing, I would definitely consider this a happy scent. One day I wore my Bentley Men Intense to run some errands, I ended up picking up this bottle then layered it on the adjacent and thought, "Wow, this stuff is amazing". I would highly recommend this unisex fragrance, it'd make a fantastic warm weather scent. Cheers!

Revisiting Lush Neroli again this spring. It’s a really gorgeous fragrance, very clean and natural smelling. Works well in high heat. I’m noticing more jasmine then before, the jasmine is equal to or greater that the neroli in prominence. Perfectly unisex. Performance is sadly weak, but that still has its place, this would be a good one to keep in your car to freshen up with before trapping groceries or meeting up with friends.

The fig leaf, bergamot, and neroli battle for attention. There’s a clear tart fruity-ness from the bergamot in the opening that enhances the fruity side of the fig leaf, which tends to come across more green, woody and astringent when on its own. After the bergamot wears off it does go more green and woody. This is a really good natural smelling scent and well worth the price.

I love it! Smells like a green tea perfume.
