Musc Oud Maharaja

This is devastatingly beautiful and THE best one out of the Oud Series from Auphorie for me. A blast of oud and musk at the start intrigued me but my favorite part is the deep sweetness they were able to draw out from this blend after the opening that I find so addicting. I love spraying this once or twice on the back of my hand (yes really, just once is enough, two if you want more of the animalic side of this perfume to come out) because although not as powerful as Oudh Infini (Dusita), with limited sprays and more air, the florals really shine in a balance with it's animalic counterparts. Not challenging at all for those who love animalic ouds, musks or are vintage lovers but may not be for those used to Auphorie's tamer scents from their standard line. I cannot recommend this more highly and although Musc Oud Maharaja is almost non-existent in the aftermarket, if you find a bottle I can guarantee you will be overjoyed that day.

An enchanting and refreshing take on the Oud Rose combo this erotic Floriental from Auphorie evokes the animalic side of Oud (think Oudh Infini) without using any real animal musk accord. The main note here is a beautiful Rose Otto and an Assam Oud (not much barnyard). These are surrounded by delicate notes of jasmine, white (synthetic) musk and synthetic ambergris. The overall feeling evoked is of vintage refined and somewhat animalic musky refinement much like Oudh Infini. Produced as an extremely limited edition that has already been vaulted and discontinued, this is worth seeking out if you were interested in the musky erotic side of Oud but were horrified by the overwhelming power of bombs like Oudh Infini. Unisex, well blended, slight feminine leaning with moderate sillage and tremendous longevity. Enjoy!

Musc Oud Maharaja is incredible achievement of the Au brothers. Why? Because it is almost at the same level as Emperor Hind by D&Z without any actual animalics. Musc, oud, ambergris are incredibly animalic, warm, salty and well balanced. There is a bit of varnish note peaking in and out which gives this perfume leathery vibe. Underneath animalic accord there is strong rose. I want to say Rose de Mai having that ripe sour tone to it, cutting through animalics. Didnt detect jasmine. Projection is strong, longevity is strong. Similarity to Musk Aoud is 0, different beast all together. Similarity to Ceylon is 0. I am blown away how people draw parallels between these completely different scent. Its comparing ambergris with pastries.

looking for a bottle no matter the level, will pay good money if anyone with a bottle feels the need to move it on.
