Iconic Inverse

I am among perhaps very few people who have never tried Acqua Di Gio Profumo (I know, shameful 😁) but when I read the notes for Iconic Inverse it seemed like the perfect chance to experience ADGP at a much more affordable price. The notes listed, comfortably describe Iconic Inverse to a T. It shines as a high quality composition to my fairly experienced nose (I own/have owned a total of over 300 scents in my 49 years on this earth - I love fragrance). Aquatic with a touch of saltiness. Peppery and powdery in equal measure thanks to the Incense and Patchouli and then a lovely warm sweetness of Amber to round it all out. It might just be my mind playing tricks on me but I am convinced the mid-dry down also brings a dry Violet-Iris-like accord that adds an extra level of quality and sophistication - love it. Iconic Inverse projects very nicely without being a screamer and lasts a good 7-8 hours for me. Just to put it into context, my wife tends to be very, brutally honest when it comes to my varied fragrance wardrobe and the first time I wore this her first comment was "Ooh, that's a good one! Yep, I like that!" - and she almost never says anything so positive as that so you could say that was a firm seal of approval.🤣 Aurora Scents is an intriguing house (I also own Oud De Immortal - a superb rendition of Baccarat Rouge 540 with a green coloured juice). Their scents span budget, designer and borderline niche prices for some of them but their presentation and fragrance quality is high-end designer/niche, for sure. A 'cut-above', one might say.👌 I will no doubt be sampling more of the delights from Aurora Scents again soon.

Probably the best inspo of ADG profondo, nothing more nothing less. They've cooked with this one. It's basically like the og adg edt but more mature, slightly smoky (not by that much, it's moderate) and this licorice feeling, probably created by absinthe. Incredible freshie that can be used also in colder seasons.
