This one is truly a lovely floral. I am a fan of orange blossom in fragrances, and this one delivers in the top notes, along with sweet jasmine and tuberose. However, I find the perfume's namesake short-lived, and it turns into something else altogether very quickly. Not bad, not at all. It just settles rather soon into an ultra-subtle vanilla-floral, musky sandalwood fragrance that doesn't stray from the skin at all, until it is little more than my own smelly secret (uh, but in a pretty-ish sort of way). I find myself wanting to re-apply every 45 minutes or so, and I can't afford to do that ;)

While I adore many Ava Luxe fragrances, particularly the gourmand blends, I've had strange experiences with the florals. For some reason, they bring forth an accord that reminds me of baby oil mixed with talc...possibly the carrier oil overwhelming the fragrance oils on my skin? This is something I've noticed for many years, and it's always with the florals; and I noticed it in Amande Sucree as well. Maybe my nose doesn't translate Ava Luxe's "Guerlainade" well at all. I love orange blossom, so I've sampled Fleur d'oranger time after time, it just smells "off" on me. I do love many other fragrances in the Ava Luxe collection, but the ones that don't work always have this strange oily note (in edp).
