IR1S x TROP1C4L

This iris is super earthy and carotty. Definitely not powdery, cooling, lipstick-like or floral as it is in many other perfumes. The tropical, fruity aspect is noticeable, too, but as a whole I find this more vegetal than tropical. I sense a little bit of citrus, lemony melissa and sour rhubarb, and also a yellow fruit note, like mango. Despite the fruitiness this is not a sweet or juicy scent, the dry earthy notes are so intense and keep the scent from going that way. I think the sharp balsamic note of elemi also plays a part in this. And then, after a while, the whole scent turns sweaty on me. It even does that on a cotton pad, but more so on the skin. At this point the scent reminds me of my own sweat when I was a young teen and used fruity, rather ineffective deodorants. Oh well. Not sure where this is coming from. I could have done without it and it drops my rating from "okay, but not my thing" to a slight dislike. I made the mistake of participating in a crowdsourcing for this now defunct brand, which was very chaotic and unorganized, and sampled the whole Mutant Flowers collection. This is the one scent I had a full bottle of, so I really tried to like it, but it turned out to be my least favorite. It sounded so interesting, and I guess it is, but I also expected it to be a little prettier.
