Destination Wilderness

Avon still know how to throw out a winner! This is nigh on perfect. Soft, soapy, rugged pine - if that makes any sense. The only scent I've tried that comes anywhere close to my old favourite, Krizia Uomo. This isn't as punch in the face soapy pine as Krizia is, more of a refined, delicate, 21st century variant. There's no sweetness with this, there's nothing floral, just a wonderful sense of the outdoors. And the drydown, what a perfect drydown. From the opening of soapy pine and juniper it changes over the hours to a soft musky woodsy kind of pine. This is great to wear on the chest where your body heat can keep pushing out the frarance. Longevity is excellent. After the first 4 or 5 hours it dies down to a very subtle skin scent, still noticable after 12 hours. Sillage is moderate depending on how much you put on. Avon Destination Wilderness, outdoors in a bottle. Strong soapy pine that gives way to a soft musky patchouli woodyness.

Pine is present just in the first 40 minutes, after that it becomes a great clone of Guerlain Heritage. 7.5/10

Destination Wilderness has the spirit of the 80's. It is thick, resinous and strong. The initial hit of soapy pine in a duet with juniper is loud, expressive and strong in expression. Over time, it becomes warmer and sweeter and at the same time quite pleasant. The smell of the forest, maybe a bit old-fashioned, is not likely to appeal to young people. I don't know if I want to reach for it too often, but I appreciate Avon's attempts to revive the atmosphere of a bygone era, just like in the case of their other fragrances with the spirit of the 80s - Mesmerize classic and Black Suede. Unfortunately, the first one has already been withdrawn and the second one has been reformulated (even Avon does this) and is a shadow of its original. It is worth adding that I was surprised by the very good parameters, both durability and projection are great. I didn't expect that I would write like that in the context of Avon perfumes. 7/10

Great scent!!! In my opinion is good for rainy days. Longevity about 7h, projection 4h.

This fragrance gives me severe headache. Heavy and cheap smelling,impossible to wash off even. There is some interesting notes,but they are ruined by the heaviness. Never again!

OK I took a chance on this and well.... ....it's not my kind of thing. However I think it's a very good fragrance which projects and lasts surprisingly well for an Avon fragrance (no offence to them). I believe they have some other recent scents which perform very well too, so perhaps the old poor performance preconceptions for this brand will be put to rest sooner rather than later, we'll see. Destination Wilderness is a super manly concoction, it may sound lame but yes imagine the perfect scent for a lumberjack. But not just any lumberjack, this is for a slightly more mature or weathered guy, he doesn't care if his scent is going to offend the odd squirrel or deer (in fact they'd probably like it!). As such if he bumps into red riding hood (or her mother, heck, even her grandmother!) then they will be lured by his sillage for sure as this stuff smells much nicer in the air. Like a breath from the forest itself. UPDATE 29/07/2019: I sold this on (at a loss) as it just wasn't my cup of tea. I still think it's decent for what it is though. So to sum up : old growth evergreen forest.

Fragrance - Destination Wilderness Avon Bottle from - 2018 Destination Wilderness opens on my skin with a pungent yet calming,green and balsamic pine mingled with juniper and patchouli with the tender trace of cardamom and geranium. You might feel like you've stepped into a snow covered forest. As time goes by,he becomes woody,musky and slightly leathery."Quality/Cost Ratio" is high and the performance is very good. Longevity - 10/10(10+ hours) Silage/Projection - 8/10(moderate to high projection for the first 1-2 hours,than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent's evolution) Weather - best in winter and early spring. Age - 26+ Compliments(low-medium-high) - medium Scent - 7,5/10 Main notes according to me - pine,juniper,musk,patchouli,cardamom,geranium. The drydown is woody,musky and slightly leathery and I get some -musk,woodiness and leather. Emotions - snow covered forest,calming,green. Occasion(Versatility - 8/10) -For more or less any ocasion. This is a nice relese from Avon.

According to the Avon UK website this has Fir Balsam rather than the 'pine' listed above, just saying. In any case I'll be ordering this and will be back to share my thoughts, looking forward to this one as I'm a big fan of fir (which I find sweeter and more citrusy compared to pine), we'll see.

Pleasing green sent. Not any of the mentioned notes stands out too much. Of course in the dry out it's the leather and musk that comes to you and thankfully not the patchouli. But then again I don't like leather or heavy musk dry out...

Pine at its absolute best! Through & through pine! Fairly nice performance also. Love it!
