Maxx

MAXX is nice aquatic/ozonic with hints of green. Excellent for summer, it's not at all generic but rather unique. Think oceanic grapefruit--excellent for hot weather. I don't get any of the clean musk until the very end, which is good because it unfortunately smells like a dryer sheet. The only issue is longevity but even there it beats some bigger names currently on the market (looking at you, Nautica). If it lasted longer it would command considerably more than you can get it for now and would be well worth it.

Avon Maxx is a citrusy fragrance. Not quite aquatic, but a fresh grapefruit/lime like aroma with some grassiness and a hint of woodiness. I don't understand the comparisons to Giorgio Red, you couldn't find two fragrances that smell any more different from each other (Red is a heavy, somewhat dirty leather fragrance, Maxx has nothing resembling leather in it). Being a mid 90s Avon, the projection and duration aren't all that great, maybe good performance for 2 to 3 hours and it becomes a skin scent. All in all, a very pleasant fragrance that works great in the warm weather.

My recollection of this is similar to MikeD75, it’s light and airy with a bright opening that fades to a soft musk. Not much of a performer, and pretty middle of the road. Avon was throwing out many boarder unisex offerings at this time, all were fairly pleasant but forgettable in the sea of freshies and mall scents. It was not that it was bad, great prices too, it just didn’t meet the calibre of the classics they had done in the past, and in aftershave form no less. Oh, and side note, the smells like is once again confusing. I don’t get any Eternity vibe here?
