Surreal Garden

I bought this one after reading the notes, hoping it had a similarity to JC Ellena's 'Jardin' trilogy...it didn't, but it is a very pleasant scent in it's own right... This is a very complex green floral musky scent. It begins with a citrusy feel and quickly becomes a watery blend of water lily/lotus and sweet pea. It grows more green with a leafy/stem type of aroma and then gets sort of incensy. The patchouli here is fascinating as it is earthy-aromatic but green and watery at the same time. I had this and Surreal both for a while and found Surreal too fruity and sweet(gifted to a good friend), but this...I would still have this because it is so unique, if my Mother had not begged me for it. (She didn't get one before Avon did what they always do-discontinue the good ones!) This is flowery, green and 'aquatic' but can be worn by anyone who likes something different... Sillage: good Longevity: decent Overall: 3.5/5 This is definitely a 'surreal' one, it smells almost like an underwater garden to me yet is green, earthy and resinous at the same time. It is like a flower garden, in a thunderstorm while the sun is still shining and smells soooo different from anything Avon has ever released. I occasionally sneak a spray or two when I want to smell lush, green and unique. SG is avant-garde without being too weird, if you can find it, try it. it's definitely a different trippy twist on a floral chypre...

One of my favorite fragrances, and the most realistic green scent I have ever smelled. However, it’s also one of the hardest to pull off due to its earthiness and abundant green notes. Surreal Garden smells just like its name suggests. It’s the scent of a British garden come alive. It reminds me so much of the garden from The Secret Garden book and movie. However, this perfume evokes more of the unkempt and forgotten garden than the blooming one we see at the end. It smells like a damp, humid garden hidden behind stone walls—lush, shadowed, and overgrown with ivy and moss. The patchouli smells like soil—very earthy—and the green notes evoke leaves and buds rather than flowers. You can sense the flowers hiding behind all this greenery, but they stay in the background. It’s the verdant greenery—the mother of the flowers, the promise of hope before the bloom—that takes center stage. It’s an inexpensive fragrance, yet it feels poetic and unique. It also performs beautifully on my skin. Still, as I said in the beginning, I find it hard to wear because of how realistic it smells. I once got the odd question, “Have you been gardening?” when I wore this perfume to a social outing.

The fist time i used this perfume i was hit by the grassy smell, it was something i had never smelled before and i thought it was not for me. Then, during that warm afternoon, it started smelling acuatic, fruity and yummy. The closest comparison would be: a bucket of fresh river water filled with green grapes, cucumber, some flowers with their stems, and grass from the river bank. I strongly dislike patchouli, but in this fragance it smells subtle and not screechy at all. I love other reviews when people describe the mysterious and melancholic, yet sweet smell this perfume has. It reminds me of summer days. I used it once when i went with my boyfriend to the local cemetery and now it smells like my memory of that day: full of trees in bloom, flowers and wild grass, with the warm touch of the summer breeze.

This is a belatedly discovered gift from Avon.On me it resembles Hermés Calèche, the perfume that my late father used, and smelling SG on me is reliving the (unfortunately short) times when my father left with mother for parties and hugged me. SG starts on me with predominant lime and green notes with freesia softening and sweetening the mix. It gets a subtle floral undertone and becomes a bit sweeter as time passes but I can't feel the flowers individually, apart from the freesia. It dries down to a more earthy undertone courtesy of the vetiver and probably patch.It lasts for over 9 hours on me with a moderate and uniform sillage.Great and original (in these froutchouli times) scent can be worn by both sexes.Does not smell funny on high temperatures, can be used in summer , if spritzed with moderation.

I've worn this a few times but have been careful because of reviews and sometimes you yourself will think a perfume smells good on you when it doesn't. I have found through numerous testings, it's clean, fresh, and very versatile. This can be worn anywhere, anytime, with the exception of damp or rainy weather. It's one of those scents that you can always just pick up and not question if it's right or wrong for the occasion, well, unless a storm blows up! I don't know why this makes me cringe when it's damp, but it does. I don't get any melon really, which might make this not enjoyable to me. I think being that it's NOT sweet at all is why I am so drawn to this. I love sweet scents but this captures my attention more so! It's an odd little alien on my dresser that gets R E S P E C T!
