Avon Sweet Honesty (Vintage 1975 Garden Girl Decanter) Like many people, I remembered Sweet Honesty from my childhood. But when I tried a modern roll-on version a couple of years ago, I was left disappointed. It felt thin, simplified, and lacked the richness I remembered; I just assumed nostalgia had gotten the better of me. Not too long ago I decided to hunt down the original version; eventually acquired a 1975 4oz Sweet Honesty ‘Garden Girl’ decanter for $5 on eBay, and discovered my memory wasn’t wrong after all! Upon first opening of the decanter, the aldehydes were sharp and soapy; they dominated the opening and made the fragrance seem way more old-fashioned than it really is. So i decided to air out the funk :) I accidentally left the bottle open for a couple of hours while airing it out, and when I returned the aldehydes had softened dramatically - pro tip in case your vintage bottle smells too sharp! What emerged underneath the soapiness was just beautiful, I was elated! The heart of Sweet Honesty is a softly blended floral bouquet of muguet, hyacinth and rose with a creamy, almost velvety texture and a bit of a green snap that isn’t bothersome at all. Everything is just blended into a shower-fresh ‘wow you smell so nice’ aura. The fragrance gradually settles into a rich powdery base with warm skin musk and a gentle, vanillic honeyed sweetness that feels comforting, not sugary. There is far more depth here than what I expected from a fragrance often dismissed as a simple Avon scent. The woody component is present but not at all dominant, rather it’s a support scaffolding for the florals and the honey-vanilla. What impressed me most is how balanced the blend feels. The powder never becomes dusty, the sweetness never becomes cloying, and the skin-scent musk remains soft and approachable. The vintage version of Sweet Honesty has a warmth and fullness that its modern version seems to lack. It is absolutely lovely and wearable in modern times, I’ve caught myself reaching for it whenever I go out in public and just want to smell clean and pretty and know that I’m not offending anyone with my sillage. Vintage Sweet Honesty is also a fabulous and very calming/comforting bedtime fragrance, as other reviewers have noted! For anyone chancing a vintage bottle of this, please don’t judge it solely by the first few minutes. If the aldehydes seem overwhelming to you, a few airings should help reveal the beautiful floral-powdery-honeyed composition underneath. In my case, it transformed the fragrance from “yikes” to “this is exactly what I remembered.” I did lose a bit of the juice in the process (I noticed the level went down a little in the bottle after I had left it open) but it was worth it, as it transformed the scent into something very wearable (and a little off the top of a 4oz decanter is nothing) Now I fully understand why Sweet Honesty survived for decades. Beneath the clean, soapy opening is a genuinely lovely crowd-pleasing fragrance, with far more character than its reputation suggests. To me it’s solar floral happiness in a bottle! ************************ For those searching for the original Sweet Honesty, the launch spray bottle is transparent with a bow molded into the glass towards the top and a pink column cap. However, I personally recommend getting one of the Cologne splash decanters listed below and transferring the juice into an atomizer, so you can blow off the excess aldehydes from your bottle before use. The following decanters contain the original Sweet Honesty fragrance and can be had for a few dollars (not an exhaustive list) - Garden Girl both 1975 (yellow) & 1978 (pink) versions - Queen of Scots milk glass scotty dog - Precious Doe - Teddy Bear (fuzzy) - Little Miss Muffet - Mary Mary quite contrary - Little Bo Peep - Little Burro - Curious Kitty - Treasure Turtle - Hobnail Bell - Emerald Bell - Just a Twist - Song of Love (birdcage) - 1978 California Perfume Co historical tribute bottle

Alright. Ladies below who have decried the reformulation, I hope you're reading this. The moment I searched 'Sweet Honesty' on ebay two weeks ago, dozens of results showed for a vintage-looking, clear glass bottle of 'California Perfume, Anniversary Addition', with the sweetest little gold cap and pink bow around the neck. They were cheap and won me over, but I wondered, "is this really Sweet Honesty?" I googled it and sure enough, Avon has been releasing "keepsake" bottles from vintage batches of Sweet Honesty they apparently kept from 1975 and 1978. Mine arrived yesterday, and "1975" is embossed on the back of the glass. I figure this surely is the vintage, because, for one thing, it's beautiful. Secondly, it doesn't smell dominantly like baby powder, and even if it had... A NOTE IN DEFENSE OF BABY POWDER: When someone says, "it smells like baby powder" about a scent it isn't usually a compliment. Yet to me, and a small handful of others - it is! I like the scent of baby powder, period. If you don't like it, then I guess you wouldn't even put it on a baby! Except that if you do enjoy smelling it on a baby, and you say you won't wear it because you "don't want to smell like a baby" then... aren't you just denying yourself the chance to wear a scent you like? Yes, fragrance is strongly associative (e.g. baby powder = baby). This also means that it's easy to create new associations, though (e.g. baby powder = beautiful woman). Open minds will participate in wearing their perfumes by adding unexpected, individual dimensions of personality. There isn't so much wrong with smelling like a baby anyhow when the "baby notes" themselves are beautiful; many babies smell not only like baby powder but, through toiletries or more natural means, like apples, strawberries, cotton candy, mommy's cosmetics including perfume, laundry detergent, milk (which adults drink, too!), fresh air, sun, sunscreen (I hope!), lavender, lemons, roses, sugar and spice and EVERYTHING NICE. There are days when I sure wouldn't mind smelling like everything nice! :) Did you know that baby powder smells different in Europe than it does in America? Here we use Johnson+Johnson and corresponding knockoffs, scented with citrus, floral and vanilla. In Europe their popular baby powders are primarily scented with orange blossom and musk. In 1995, a study was conducted by Dr. Alan Hirsch that discovered women are more aroused by the scent of baby powder (probably J+J but who knows) than by men's cologne and chocolate. (Men weren't tested with baby powder). Obviously, they took the baby powder out of the "baby" context for this blind study. Review continued: This bottle of Sweet Honesty I have is sweet, and deep. I think it's a youthful skin scent. It reminds me of a lighter, sweeter, non-spicy Sensuous Nude by Estee Lauder. It's easy to layer (I've layered with The Body Shop's White Musk Libertine, and L'Interdit). There is no powdery accord on my skin and it isn't listed in the accords here. The absence of powder takes Sweet Honesty out of the baby powder realm of scent for me. I want to add that this is my first Avon perfume. I bought it because growing up I always wanted to try the Avons that others were wearing, but my mom wouldn't buy anything from them because of some negative experience she had as a teen with an Avon seller, lol. The next time I'm in Paris and having an afternoon cappuccino at Cafe de Flore, my 1975 Sweet Honesty California Perfume Anniverary Keepsake is what I'll be wearing. They won't know I'm wearing a "baby powder" scent, they will only (hopefully) know I smell good.

I'm so biased to this, so maybe skip over my review. One night a year or two ago, I admitted to my mother over the phone of my draw towards perfume. She told me of one perfume she could wear and enjoyed and I couldn't remember if it was Sweet Honesty or True Love. I had recently purchased some second hand perfumes at the time and a vintage of both were in there. I told her she would enjoy this 2nd one too. I couldn't remember which was which, as they're very similar in softness. Since then, seeing both bottles on my shelf reminded me of her and when I get homesick (I live far away) I sniff one of the bottles, very infrequently do I spray as just seeing them makes me feel she is close. Fast forward to this week. Just the other night I sprayed True Love and left a review, thinking it was that one which she said she could wear, but tonight I've sprayed Sweet Honesty... I went searching online to see which bottle I have, as it came with no top. While searching, I found the "Precious Doe" bottle I remember always admiring on her dresser top. It's this! Mine is just a plain oval shaped 50ml bottle, but hers was lovely, and as I lay here I can smell her. This is it. This is my mother. She only ever had the one bottle that I remember, so I guess I can't call it her signature scent and she hasn't worn it in years as she never treats herself to anything, but smelling this reminds me of her in the 80s, and of me opening the doe bottle and having a sniff every chance I had when she wasn't looking, even long after the perfume was gone. I'm going to find a way to get her a bottle of both because I just know she will enjoy True Love as well... but this is my mama. So soft and sweet, not like candy, but like a baby's head if that makes sense. I know this isn't much of a review, I can't even describe this scent other than powdery soft and a light sweetness with a touch of musk. It reminds me of hugs, being held by her. Tucking my face up into her neck while I cried for whatever reason as a child. It sits close to the skin so only the closest people to you will smell it. I hope this hasn't been reformulated, though I'm guessing like nearly everything else, that it has. The one I have smells just like hers did. I'll try and get my hands on a newer one and save this one for those nights when I miss her the most. I can't believe it's taken me this long to figure that out, but in any case... now I know.

When I was a child, I was gifted a bottle of perfume that was shaped like a little girl. Back then, the name of the juice inside this bottle wasn't very important to me. All I cared about was having my own bottle of perfume (cologne). I had long-forgotten the name of this fragrance--until about a year ago when I decided to order a bottle of Sweet Honesty. Once I smelled it, I immediately remembered having smelled it before. This was the first real fragrance that I ever owned. Sweet Honesty will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope Avon never stops making it. It is soft, delicate, and absolutely beautiful. It is a very unique fragrance in my opinion. Whenever I smell Sweet Honesty, it kind of reminds me of a young girl's hope chest. I don't mean there's anything old, stale or musty about it. I mean it makes me think of roses and fresh, perfumed linens tucked away in a cedar chest. I have not smelled anything like Sweet Honesty. It is unique. It's not a very strong scent. It's more of a casual skin scent. It's good for any time of day and any time of the year. There is a sweet, fresh, and innocent quality about it, and that makes it perfect for young girls. Some older women like to wear it, too. There's no rule that says they can't. I'm sure it brings back many good memories from bygone years. Sweet Honesty is NOT too sweet as some people have said in their reviews. it's perfect. The cedar balances it out nicely. I still wear Sweet Honesty from time to time, and so does my young daughter. I like to spray it on sometimes before bedtime. I find it to be quite comforting.

From what I remember, this is the fragrance that I've been wearing the longest of any I've encountered since my childhood and I'm in my late 40s. My former neighbor lady was an Avon salesperson and she used to bring over lots of fun samples and older products, saying she didn't want them. My younger sister and I thought that was a wonderful treat! That is how I first discovered Sweet Honesty. I loved the old retro box and bottle with the artwork reminiscent of a sunrise (or maybe sunset.) So I got to wear SH a lot throughout my childhood as it was gifted to us by our neighbor lady. Now decades later, I would say this is my all-time favorite perfume. With my history of it I would say it's one of only 5 perfumes out of hundreds that I own that do not annoy me even a tiny little bit. It's one that I feel genuinely comfortable wearing, so I reach for it frequently. It's one of the few fragrances that I've repurchased multiple times. Sweet Honesty is like a whisper, or maybe a soft echo, of fragrance in a world of sweet gourmands that often make me feel a little sick. It is especially refreshing after a shower and before bedtime. This is a wonderful sleeping fragrance, also for hanging around the house in your pajamas, reading and watering your plants, or whatever. For me it just brings back pleasant memories of easier times, and it will always have a place in my collection. I have to wonder though, since it's been rebottled in the last year or two, does it seem "weaker" somehow than it used to? I seem to notice a change, as I have with other Avon classics in the new bottles.

Sweet Honesty was my grandmother's signature scent. I can remember it sitting on her dresser, nearly empty, beside bottles of Far Away and Haiku. She was an Avon shopper her whole life; the same lady who set her hair in curls from her garage/salon three doors down was also her Avon lady. During weekend visits to her house, she'd leave on Saturday mornings and come back with perfectly permed hair, bottles of bubble bath, tubes of Silicone Glove, and Avon catalogues. I'd dog-ear the pages with things I liked. When my grandma died on New Years Day of this year, I immediately bought myself a bottle of Sweet Honesty to remind me of her. I know it's been reformulated a number of times, but this formulation smells just like the original: Powdery, musky, dry, warm, and sweet. It is the perfect powder bomb scent, but is sophisticated enough not to smell like you doused yourself in baby powder. I find the big black "T-shaped" caps on the new bottles pretty ugly, so I tossed it and just let it go without a cap. And to my surprise, I've worn Sweet Honesty regularly, as an approachable signature scent on cozy days in. It may remind me of my grandmother, but it's not matronly. And as a lesson to not be fooled by big names and bigger price tags: I got a free sample about a year ago of BVLGARI's Dolce Estasi (which translates to Sweet Ecstasy... hmm...) and it smells *exactly* the same as Sweet Honesty. You've gotta respect the classics.

To me, as fresh and vibrant and wonderful today as it was yesterday. A spray suitable for a girl or a woman in her sixties. Floral and musky and all around delightful. I bought a bottle with perfumed skin softener recently. Oddly enough, I didn't respect it much as a teen, but did like to wear it to school occasionally and always found myself smelling my wrist. I wanted more sophisticated scents then; innocence was the last thing I wished to project. Ironically, I only later realized how great it was. I wear it when the mood dictates, spring, summer, and fall. Not really a winter scent. Naturally, it's perfect for spring and summer, but it also works well on those unseasonably warm early fall days. I believe that was when I first appreciated it, because it reminds me of school in the earliest days of the school year, when I would wear it. Really takes me back in time. Although, it really is a remarkably modern fragrance. It's hard to imagine how anyone could dislike this, let alone hate it.

First impression spray in the air is pure baby butt, in my honest opinion. We'll see what the future holds... Once Sweet Honesty blended with my chemistry it was a pleasant surprise. Gentle, subtle, highlighting my sweet teen, girly innocence (I was born '81). Safe for work even if your boss is a fragrance hater like mine. She didn't comment on it, but if she did, I could have just said I'd taken a bath with baby oil. Of course, that wouldn't be a great example of sweet honesty... I'm just saying this scent is a safe bet, a welcomed presence, even around sensitive noses. One co-worker said it reminded him of Schlitterbahn (a giant water park here in Texas)! A comfort scent (even if you weren't born yet when it was popular). Cont: Call me crazy, but to my nose Sweet Honesty is kind of like Chanel no 5 Eau Premiere Extra Light! No wonder they're both favorites of mine. Checking the notes, they only share vanilla and rose; who knows. P.S. Not the 2015 remake, I pressed that one by mistake.

I recently became an Avon representative to have an inexpensive way to foster my love of fragrance. Fund my habit and learn more perfume in the process. Recently, my grandmother told me she wore Midnight by Tussy when she was younger. I did some research on the scent and in addition to learning it has long been discontinued, I saw that Sweet Honesty is a common comparable scent. Immediately I ordered a bottle and though I can't compare it to Midnight, my grandmother thinks she recalls it smelling similar to Sweet Honesty. I can compare it to other existing scents though. Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab had a limited edition a few years ago called Fairy tales and lies in their Crimson Peak collection and Sweet Honesty is so, so similar. This absolutely thrilled me to discover this, as my BPAL bottle is long finished. I would say this is also a little similar to Alice by BPAL, but not quite as much so. I will probably be investing in more Sweet Honesty products soon.

Ughhh, why do I initially pick up only on powder!? J&J-Baby-Powder-powder that hangs around for at least a hour, all the while making my stomach turn... Then finally, it changes chemistry and turns into a very musky floral with hints of honey. It's very comforting, subtle and feminine. I blindly bought this after frantically trying to figure out what perfume my grandma wore while growing up. It was impossible that she wore Clean Blossom, which smells dead on "her" in my memories, so it was suggested that it was maybe Sweet Honesty as she was a huge Avon fan. I just so happen to be an Avon Lady now and SH is still being sold over 40 years later! Today is my first day attempting to wear it and I just couldn't resist layering CB over it to relieve me of the powder so I'm not judging this very fairly. I do plan on ordering the skin cream and deodorant to see if that helps bring out more of the notes I love so much in this frag.

  • em inglês

This is my second review of this fragrance. And also a warning to those who may have worn Sweet Honesty, but haven't since the bottle changed. Avon claims they only changed the bottle, not the sent. I know better, I have about half of a bottle in the old bottle, and compared the two. Something is missing now, and I am not sure what it is. Maybe the honey, and possibly the slight lemon note it used to have. It is now a very faint, but not unpleasant floral But it has no sillage, and definitely wears off in about an hour. The warmth is gone out of it. It is maybe good for an after shower spritz. If you plan on wearing it through the day, better carry the bottle with you. You are going to have to reapply. Again and again. Avon had a winner with Sweet Honesty. There was a reason women bought this over and over since the 70's. Now it joins Imari in the ranks of scents ruined by Avon.

  • em inglês

I THOUGHT I had this when I was younger, but after researching, I actually had some Avon children's perfumes that no longer exist. I also found an old ad that listed the notes in SH as florals, woods, and anjelica root. It seems this has been reformulated with the honey, lemon, & vanilla? I don't find this dated at all especially with the popularity of vanilla notes these days. The top is very sharp and astringent and isn't the best part of this fragrance. The middle is floral, warm, somewhat soapy, & powdery. I read that musks can cause that powdery feel sometimes. The drydown is very mellow, sweet and comforting. The "sweet" part of SH is a nice, gentle sweetness where the honey & vanilla are in the background & very natural, not saccharine sweet. This is a wonderfully warm, cuddly scent that is great for everyday as well as a sleeping scent

  • em inglês

I just received a gift set and I am wondering where the "powder" is. Not that I don't like this scent, I love it. But on me I am getting honey and floral, not rose so I guess it must be they hyacinth note everyone mentions. It smells clean, yet sexy. Not a sillage bomb either. Nice enough that when someone is close to you they may get a whiff, but it isn't going to knock them out. Yes, it was the first perfume for a lot of women. And yes, it is Avon. (Granted some of their perfumes can be gag-inducing or in my case, asthma inducing) But if it came out this year from some celebrity or designer, it would probably get more respect. The respect it deserves. Face it, not everybody wants to smell like a fruit salad or what my grandmother called floozies. This is soft, subtle and warm. Give it a chance. The price alone makes it worth a shot.

  • em inglês

I love this one so much. I have the little bottle shaped like a Victorian era Christmas caroler. It smells a bit like Johnson's baby shampoo, or maybe Dove bar soap, but somehow it doesn't feel cloying or overly soapy at all. It has a sort of fresh, clean green note to it that separates it from being too childlike to me. While it is extremely versatile, I find myself using it after showering at night more than anytime else. It's so cozy to me that, for a while, I used it so much before bed, I didn't think I could sleep without it anymore. It feels like running through a field of white roses and baby powder. It feels like someone pulling back your hair and kissing you goodnight on the forehead. It's just the loveliest little fragrance. If the word "gentle" was a scent, it would smell like this.

  • em inglês

This is a lovely fragrance. I used to have it in the 70s but it was much stronger back then. It is a little powdery. the powder comes from the Lily of the Valley. It's not screechingly powdery in a detergent kind of way if you know what I mean. It is really soft. I get the lemon, but the aldehydes are missing because I have a rollerball that sits very close to the skin. It's so comforting and very fitting for a Sunday afternoon and sometimes bedtime. The hyacinth and rose come in later bringing some more powder with them and enveloping you in a soft blanket. For me the honey is the crowning glory in this scent bringing soft sweetness with it. Yes indeed, sweet honesty. It is a perfume of innocence. I hope it is still available because I will always want to have this in my collection.

  • em inglês

I don't have any prior experience with this scent that would make it nostalgic, but I did love it right away! I find that a lot of old fashioned scents can give a range from 'old lady' to 'rich old lady,' depending on the bottle. This one, however is a lot more youthful, approachable, and I'd even call it friendly-smelling. I'm going through the old Avon scents and recently fell IN ♡ with Moonwind. And, while I do think that Moonwind sits higher on my preference list and has less silage and significantly less staying power for me, I will return to this blend often. It has that same sort of 'something special,' that makes it memorable to me, but with none of the pretension of some finer and more expensive mixtures on the market. Also, it DOES smell a little like Dial soap. I love it!

  • em inglês

Unbelieveable. I just bought myself a generous sized bottle of my first perfume! That first one was in a stick form, and all I had really wanted was a SPRAY perfume like mommy's ~ such distinct tastes preschoolers have. :) Now that I have Sweet Honesty again, I have to applaud my mother's good taste. This IS a lovely scent, but also one that I would feel free to give to other preschoolers..... and yes, that would be in a spray bottle! I find Sweet Honesty to be distinctive from fragrances like Love's Baby Soft, in that Lemon, Hyacinth, and Lily add freshness and complexity ~ brightening the whole composition. Fans of Hyacinth may be surprised by this unassuming little gem. Her overall aura of is that of shower freshness and timeless beauty. Five Stars!

At first when I sprayed it, I thought I needed to find the thread where someone asked for suggestions on perfumes that smell exactly like baby powder. At the time I didn't know of any--none that smell "exactly" like baby powder. But Sweet Honesty does. Hang on though! It's only for the first 5-10 minutes. After that it becomes this spectacular, summery, sweet honey scent. The initial powder vanishes almost entirely. Unlike some people, I grew up hating this perfume. I was into Night Magic Evening Musk. Now it's the other way around. I find Night Magic to be cloying, and Sweet Honesty is my "new" favorite. They just need to re-package. The 70's couple on the front became passe like 30 years ago.

I have to wholeheartedly agree with 2746cstreet's intelligent review. As a relative newbie to fragrance, I find it amusing that this is one of the few scents included in my limited fragrance reminiscences. Mothers everywhere must have purchased Sweet Honesty for wee ones, because mine sure did. And I didn't get another fragrance until junior high! Even then, I considered this to be unending parsimonious misery. :( Apart from the distressing memory of perfume penury, I genuinely enjoy the simple goodness of Sweet Honesty now and then. But I find myself most impressed when it is Layered with a warmer, sweet scent, such as Gale Hayman's Delicious Vanilla. Ahhhhh.... Now THAT'S nice!

  • em inglês

Sweet Honesty is one of the most nostalgic fragrances I own. It's soft and powdery and reminds me of being a little girl, since that's probably when I first used it. To me, it smells exactly like a Cabbage Patch Kid, soft, sweet and powdery. It's not exactly like baby powder, but it's a powdery scent in its own right. It projects well and lasts ALL day on me, which is rare for any of my perfumes. I smell my wrists constantly when I wear this b/c I find it so nostalgic and calming. Instantly puts me in a better mood and even makes me reminisce about my childhood. It's not the most sophisticated perfume, but I still give it a 7/10 for the wonder it makes me feel.

  • em inglês

This is a powdery gem. It has become my out of shower going to bed perfume. I find it so relaxing and soothing. I usually spend some time reading a novel and sniffing this before bed every night. It is a perfect way to end my day. I don't find it musky at all, for me it is a clean powdery scent and not much more. The longevity on me is usually a little over six hours, because I can faintly detect it on my skin the next morning. I can't say this is a sillage monster of any sort, but at night I am looking for a much calmer scent anyway and this is perfect. Overall, this has become a love of mine that I hope will always be part of my wardrobe.

  • em inglês

ugh, I wish this smelled powdery on me like it does out of the bottle, but on my skin it is a ghastly bug sprayish smell, no baby powder at all, after about an hour I had to wash it off. Edit: It's been roughty a year since this review, good news, I gave my rollerball another chance. Perhaps, I had to give it a good shake or dab it a few times, but it now smells powdery on my wrists. It is wonderful!. Just a couple of dabs is needed and lasts as least a good 4 hours. I might try the skin softener now. I like to wear it on a lazy sunday, and dab all my pulse points. love the rollerball, its good for easing into a scent.

My great grandma used to wear this in both the perfume & also the roll on deodorant, after she passed I didn't want to smell it because her passing was so fresh & then I spent the last few years figuring out scents & types I like when I came across a bottle of this in an Avon lot at a garage sale for $1 - idk if the bottle is outdated or not but it smells exactly like my Nanny & doesn't smell off at all. Beautiful soft powdery scent with fresh lemon notes its such a nice comfort fragrance. Can also elevate other scents that are floral heavy ove found. Just a nice classic scent.

thing is... this used to be quite a nice scent. i don't know precisely when Avon changed it, but change it they did. the stuff you buy from them now... smells like J&J baby powder. and i can't stand the scent of baby powder (i hated it when i was a baby, too!). but the vintage, 1970's Sweet Honesty? is altogether different. a little powdery, yes, but not baby powder. a soft, gentle, clean - but not soapy - and snuggly sort of scent. i'm sure a lot of younger folks would say it smells "old" but that's what i like about it, that it doesn't smell like the mall.

  • em inglês

I have only recently started to try Avon perfumes and really love this one. So far I only have the purse concentrate, but have just placed an order for a full bottle. Yes it does smell like baby powder but a bit ... brighter? A bright baby powder scent if that makes sense? I also have Avon’s Soft Musk, which I find smells very similar, just less bright and less baby powderish, but still good. I am not sure that I can add anything new to the other positive reviews on this fragrance that are already posted other than I really love it!

Sweetly floral honeyed musk. This is bedtime in a bottle for me, there is just something inherently calming about the fragrance. Nothing loud, nothing complex, just soft sweetness to envelope you in a cocoon of warmth. The sillage is not overwhelming, and the fragrance doesn't have much longevity but I can't hold that against Sweet Honesty. It's delicate, after all. Sweet Honesty was my first perfume as a child, and I've never tired of it over the years. I always have a bottle on hand for the sole purpose of ensuring sweet dreams.

I was in kindergarten, it was Christmas time, our class was doing a "Secret Santa". We sat on the floor in a circle, it was my turn to receive my gift. I opened my gift, a small box and inside was Sweet Honesty. I still remember it. I thought sitting in the circle this is a horrible gift- everybody else got silly putty. But the smell is memorizing. Musk what is that to a kid in kindergarten? But this perfume haunts me,in a lovely way. Every time I smell musk I think of that memory. AND that is the power of perfume.

Sweet Honesty is a delightful, sexy but clean fragrance, with a blend of white musk, honey and very powdery, sweet florals (especially in the drydown). There is just a light touch of fresh lemon, too. This is one of the first fragrances I received as a gift, when I was a young teen (in a "Fuzzy Bunny" decanter!). Longevity and sillage are moderate (they can be improved by layering with the various matching scented products). This fragrance is suitable for daytime wear, and can be "office-safe" if applied lightly.

They relaunched Sweet Honesty as an EdT in Brazil and it is such an incredible perfume on me. Musky honey with a flowery background (hyacinth, rose and LOTV), uplifting, brings a cleanliness that screams fresh out of the bath with a very expensive floral soap and a honeyed body cream. Delightful, 5 to 6 hours longevity with soft sillage, exceptional for really hot days, I have no words to convey how I love Sweet Honesty on my skin.It has no aldehydes, a simple , humble and beautiful scent.

LOVE Many memories and I find it comforting, especially in winter. It was my first perfume in 1977. I got it for Christmas along with a yellow bunny powder puff with SH powder in it. At 6 years old I was feeling like a big girl 😊 Still today in the winter I put it on at bedtime and it's completely nostalgic and comforting. As long as they make it I will keep a bottle. It's actually a very pretty fragrance so that helps keep me buying it.

To me , Sweet Honesty feels like the smell of cleanliness, of a prolonged shower, of honey musk with hyacinth and lily of the valley and just a bit of lemon to tart it up, a high quality soap with natural ingredients. It was what I expected Glow to be. Unfortunately in Brazil it is much diluted and the longevity is dismal, it is only a skin scent. I use it as an after shower cologne splash. Great scent that has not aged an iota.

I've been wearing this scent occasionally since high school in the 1990s. I picked one up in an Avon store I found and have been eeking it out occasionally for a decade since. It still smells just as amazing. The scent is light and powdery with the most satisfying aldehydic note that only gets more intimate. The floral notes are low key and not obvious, which is great since I'm not a huge fan of florals.

Just bought a bottle of this and Love's Baby Soft (lifetime favorite)...Amazon has Sweet Honesty for $12!! This is a gem that I've been missing. I'm 37, I wore the Sweet Honesty body cream in high school. I still adore the scent. If you love powdery, floral, baby, and soapy smelling scents this one's for you. It also has a soft musk note to it.

So pretty. I didn't discover this little gem until I was over 40. It's such a lovely, nice scent! Powder, with a bit of floral, vanilla & honey to sweeten it up. Wear this alone or wear with any other fragrance to "sweeten" it. Also a great gift as a first fragrance for a girl around 12.

A soft, beautiful fragrance: floral and musky, sweet yet fresh, never cloying. It's quiet and comforting, but it has a bit of vitality and freshness I appreciate, maybe it is the hyacinth and cedar that jazz it up just a bit. This is a keeper for me. Also, very affordable.

Such nostalgia oozes from this. Light, soft, romantic, and fresh with a gentle powder caress. This could easily be a young girls first perfume. As it fades down it gets even better, a heady, floating musky rose. Truly delightful, I love it. Very easy to wear for any age.

I purchased this today and wanted to give it a try as I had never really experienced this fragrance before and it has been around for so long! I really like it. It is a bit powdery on first spray but then dries to a comforting scent. I am so surprised by this really!!!

Even though this scent is very inexpensive, I LOVE IT! It's a nice powdery musk like smell. I love to spritz this on after I take a shower ready to go out in the summer after spending a day at the beach or pool. It just smells fresh and innocent!

There’s no cedar wood in it, but there’s grapefruit among the top notes. Very powdery. Lots of hyacinth and vanilla, musk and aldehyde. Sometimes it reminds me of baby powder, sometimes shampoo.

Ahhh, the soft baby powder smell of Sweet Honesty still captivates till this day! You cant go wrong with this light summery smell. Its fantastic and smells like Loves Baby Soft but better ♥

I'm floating in fluffy clouds after the gentle rain ..there is a heavenly mist of softness, like the clouds. I feel wholesome and fresh and never want to leave this cloud. I feel safe ..

Love the scent, love the price, love the quality. A very "shower fresh" scent that I use casually or sometimes as a base with a blast of one of my pricey perfumes like Prada Iris.

I used this in jr high school so I like to wear it every now and then to remind me of my childhood. It was my 1st fragrance. A soft powdery clean scent.

A sentimental scent. Sweet and powdery. Your first real perfume in early teens. A generational fave. A great gift for a younger teen. Highly recommend.

This fragrance brings back memories. I use to wear this sometimes when I was young! It was very clean and soft. I actually liked it a lot!

People will think I am crazy, but I rather prefer Sweet Honesty and its sophisticated simplicity to L'Air Du Temps on my skin.
