Black

Smells just like Coty's Gravity but without any citrus. Very peppery, and projects surprisingly well in the recent "48hr Fresh" versions. Axe Black actually really grew on me, I love it now. The recent blended Axe's (like Axe Gold) are much better than the old synthetic ones, but Axe Black is still quite good, since it seems like simply Pepper and Lavender. A nostalgic 90s-era scent, I absolutely love it. Edit: Was Axe Black ever reformulated? It smells like Pepper and Lavender, I can't detect any other notes lol. I wonder if the new "48 Hour Fresh" versions released this year changed the scent, because the body spray smells impressively strong, I actually adore it and highly recommend it. Both Axe Black and Axe Gold are phenomenal.

A beautiful fragrance; the scent of mandarin combined with melon and cardamom gave the perfume a calming marine aroma.

it smells nice, but performs weak. not offensive

To be honest, I really like this one. It has a nice scent, but it's just too weak, there's no Sillage and After you spray, it's like 5 minutes later you just don't smell anything, it's like you never sprayed it to begin with. I bought the shower gel under this scent and again, there's nothing there. I've tried Apollo body spray and body wash and it's the same thing. I've never tried their antiperspirant deodorant, or who knows it might give off nothing.. I just don't understand why men's Fragrances are so light and unmasculine nowadays.. I like Axe Black, but I don't think I'll be buying it often, it's such a turn off.

This is actually much better than so much of of the amber wood bullshit being sold for 5-10x the price in fragrance stores these days. It's fresh, fruity and pleasant and the silage has no harshness or overwhelmingly chemically unnaturalness. Projects pretty good the first hour or two. Even though my collection is large, I wear this sometimes on casual summer days. For the price it's a winner! Don't be an awful snob!

This to me smells very similar to boss bottled night which is a fresh,soapy, woody scent ! Boss night is a lot less synthetic so if your looking for a more refined cologne version check that fragrance out.

Citrus and lipstick. That's what I get. Kinda reminds me of Axe 2012: The Final Edition. I use this when I don't want to think too much about what to wear. Just grab, spray and go.

One of the coolest looking black glass bottles, but the smell is average and doesn't perform.

Well this is certainly passable. That is, once it dries down. The initial application ia rather rough, but that's true for all Axe fragrances, you need to let them settle for a few minutes. I enjoy the fruit and cedar, you cannot truly tell that it's watermelon (at least I can't), or that the wood is cedar. But it's light, refreshing, crisp and shampoo-y. It's all somewhat vauge and blended to me, but you know what...my husband smells nice wearing this. Performance with this is rather lacking. But of course, it's resprayable and afforable. Not a bad budget fragrance whatsoever, it smells "mainstream designer" (I dislike lazy generalizations like this, but you get my point).

Probably the best fragrance out there for muay thai. I do 2 hours per lesson and the fragrance last around 2 to 3 hours with a good sillage so it does the job for me. Wouldn't use it anywhere else.

Tried a deodorant spray at shop today which is likely how the edt smells also. I don't like it. Not hate it do not get me wrong, but there are better bargains for the price out there. It is a very generic fragrance, nothing special about it. Very synthetic and very 90s. Definitely has the old school sour sharp metalic vibe, however even the notes do not much the resemblance with dark temptation is there. I would say it is a bit toned down less creamy vanilly version of a dark temptation DNA. Inferior, forgettable and almost boring. I do not know why it is called black, in my opinion it should be called Grey, Silver. By today's standards I find it smelling a bit vulgar. Think it is not a men's fragrance but a unisex leaning towards woman's parfumes. Longevity is OK, sillage is childish. I could wear it after a gym I suppose, but I would rather go for dark temptation, excite or even anarchy or Apollo all of which are superior. This one is likely to be discontinued, nothing memorable about it. A toned down dark temptation DNA.

Update regarding Edt: Earlier I wrote a negative review about Axe Black Deodorant spray, however edt version in a dark glass bottle is much better and in fact is quite wearable. It is very similar to Dark Temptation, has the same DNA and quality, but has that Cardamon note, which is pleasant. There is also some bitterness, which smells like Orange peels. In general - I am surprised, but Edt version is quite wearable, likeable even. It's a less choco dark temptation, with a bit of bitterness added. Longevity and Sillage is poor, meaning longevity is about 4-6 hours and sillage is 30min. Not great, but ok for the price. I still think that deodorant version is bad, however edt is a simple, yet pleasant generic fragrance.

Today I bought the deodorant from Axe Black, but I don't like it, it's fresh generic deo, there's too much cedar and bergamot, enough masculine. I like instead Excite, Africa, Dark temptation and Anarchy.

For me it's an absolutely horrific fragrance to wear. It smells like a slightly cleaned mcdonalds bathroom with some citrus added to it

I found the aftershave lotion for dirt cheap and bought it without knowing how it smells. I tried it the same night after shower, and it reminded me of something, but I was not sure what it was... So I came here to see the "reminds me of" section. But just as I was scrolling down I saw watermelon in the notes, and it hit me right away - this smells exactly like Polo Black, a fragrance I received as a gift from my mother ten years ago. Reminded me of simpler times. Its amazing how a fragrance can unlock so many memories... Neither this, nor Polo Black are amazing fragrances, but I have to say that it is quite long lasting... I usualy use Nivea, but it only lasts around 30 minutes. This one lasts atleast 3-4 hours. Very impressive for an aftershave.

I just bought this today because I wanted a deodorant that is neutral and would not affect the fragrances that I usually wear from my wardrobe. And upon testing this I noticed that after spraying and within a couple of seconds it just sit close to your skin and that's when I determine that this great if you do not want your deodorant to affect your fragrances.

NO. It just does nothing for me. It conjures up visions of nothing. I think they would have done better to market it as a unisex scent. A first for the mass market. Watermelon. Check. I smell almost zero cardamon in it. In fact, scratch that : I smell zero cardamon in it. The advertising campaign was the best part of this product.

I love this! LoL I have a few dozen of much much more expensive fragrances (dior prada chanel creed etc.) at my disposal BUT i’m still drawn to this Axe Black (48HRS non stop fresh bodyspray) Give it a spray next time you walk by the deodorant isle and thank me later ;)

I have a eau de toilette of this, i just took a shower now at this moment and put this on. i have to say this doesnt smell bad at all, it smells pretty nice for what it is, i clearly smell with this even more just like out of the shower. its good and very safe.

I can smell the bright fruity pear upon opening, but it dries down to Invictus. Not bad if you like Invictus, but there are better options for the money if you want to smell like Invictus. Axe body sprays are expensive for what you get these days.

Decent fragrance, smells similar to Nivea black & white anti perspirant deo. What I like the most about this one is that unlike other axe fragrances, this is quite neutral. Easy to use in summer, pairs well with invictus or similar fragrances.

Is this trying to clone Bleu de chanel? I feel that they are 1:1 right now. I used to have this perfume years ago. Now i recently got BDC and I think they are very similar.

got as a part of a birthday gift,gave it to my brother who works with dogs as this is good to use when you need something casual to feel your hands clean

Today i bought the eau de toilette,reminds me a little quazar by jesus del pozo,nothing special,just another one axe scent

Interestingly there I can't find the "Axe Black Night" so i came here, but the notes are definitely different

I don't have anything nice to say. Smells like weak bathroom cleaner with a faint vulgar sweetness.
