Boss Bottled

OLD FAITHFUL VERSATILE SCENT PARTNER This is a truly reliable fragrance. Its versatility makes it a must for any perfume user. At least it's a must for those who value versatility or like to travel light. I loved Boss Bottled the first time I tried it, it's a classic, pleasant and masculine scent that I think deserves to be as successful as it is. The apple, plum, cinnamon, vanilla and sandalwood combine to create something truly amazing. Just don't count on expressive longevity or sillage, because you just won't get it. Its fresh opening (citrus and apple) blends well with a dominating cinnamon in the heart and vanilla in the base. A bit gourmand, but masculine, as the sweet notes I mentioned are always accompanied by very nice, high-quality woody notes - mainly mahogany, sandalwood and cedar. It doesn't smell cheap, it's not cloying, you can use it in the gym, and it's even good on a date if you (or your date) are a conservative person. This trusty buddy will never let you down in any situation. It will not attract other people's attention, but probably with a versatile king you just want to smell clean and fresh in many situations like the office, on a plane, in a theatre, watching a football match, entertaining your mother-in-law and so on. You can use it in any weather, although it's not a shining star in terms of performance. Boss Bottled will never let you down. Well, as they say, if you are good at everything, you cannot be the best at anything. Boss Bottled is a king of versatility and a mere prince in everything else. In terms of performance, he's just a commoner. I like it, although it's not in the front row of my cupboard. In my opinion, and within the Boss range, it's only second to Boss Number One (a real number one for more than 30 years) and its flankers Boss Bottled Oud and Boss Bottled Intense. The Intense flanker and the recently released Eau de Parfum are better buys. My ratings for Boss Bottled EDT: --- --- --- --- - Scent (opening): 7.0 (fairly common) - Scent (dry down): 8.0 (more pleasant than opening) - Longevity: 7.0 (average) - Sillage: 6.0 (average sillage - one arm's length - and poor projection at peak sillage - one hour) - Uniqueness: 7.0 (there are similar and cheaper fragrances on the market like Scuderia Ferrari - Black) - Wearability: 10.0 (any season, any age, day or night) - Versatility: 10.0 (perfect for the office, but very good anywhere) - Quality: 8.0 (Hugo Boss knows how to create fragrances with better performance and more appealing combinations of notes (but probably with less sales due to less versatility). The only Boss Bottle flankers that have moved in a more promising direction are B.B.Oud and B.B.Unlimited. B.B. Intense is just .... more intense and a bit more expensive. Of course, Boss has recently launched 'Parfum', 'Elixir' and 'Absolu'. All three are fantastic. Elixir is no longer a flanker and seems to be a completely new creation). - Compliments: 7.0 (A clean, fresh and pleasant aroma, but not enough to make people follow you with their eyes or greet you. You will not disturb anyone). - Presentation: 8.0 (Simple bottle, but very elegant and effective. Good spray!) - Price: 7.0 (You can buy similar fragrances from famous designers at a lower price. I paid 45 euros + tax for my 200ml sample and it'll take me a century to use it up. I should have bought a 100 ml sample of Intense EDP 🙂 ). --- --- --- --- Overall rating: 7.73/10.0 between 7 and 8 => above average;> between 8 and 9 => recommended; equal or bigger than 9 => don't miss it; My thoughts on Boss Bottled EDT: If sillage and projection were good, this fragrance would be a smash hit. That's probably why Hugo Boss released an Intense EDT and an EDP version. Still, it gets confusing for shoppers as the three bottles are identical and all the juices are almost the same colour. Worth a blind buy? Yes, if the price is right and you just want versatility from the fragrance. If you're sure it's Boss Bottled that you like, and you might use it on a date or to attract people's attention, you're better off getting the Intense EDP version. A lot of people say this has an "apple pie" type of smell. I really don't agree with that. I definitely get the plum out of this. At first it's on the fresh side. You get fresh plum a touch of apple and a fresh type of cinnamon. As it settles soft woods and cinnamon are more forward. The plum mellows while the apple comes up. When it's totally settled on the skin you get fresh cinnamon with woods and the apple and plum fruitiness. But at no point is it spiced enough and the apple is strong to where I would say it's apple pie. It's very likeable and has this cinnamon wood freshness that is very nice . At times especially when applied light it has a slight soapy smell to it. Clean. As far as it being an older fragrance. This stuff has aged very gracefully. Someone in their early and mid 20s may not like this but this is still a solid fragrance in the collection for everyone else. Performance is not the greatest. When applied heavily you're projecting for about an hour. It's noticeable on the skin for about 3. 5 hours out of this would be really pushing it. That is with 9 sprays . 5 sprays it's a super close scent at like 3 hours . Even on clothes at like 2 hours it's not strong. What I do like is that you can apply heavily and while it may not be filling a room you'll have a little scent bubble for a few hours so it's not offensive at all. Great everyday and office scent. I really do wish the intense version was never discontinued. I do believe a new one will release. But the intense version didn't have plum and that's something I really like about this. I'm giving this a 7/10 . I don't mind showering in this stuff and the price isn't bad

Its really hard for me to get to actually test fragrances, so my entire collection of about 20 bottles have ALL been blind buys. Surprisingly, with the exception of one, they have all turned out fantastic. I would not say Im lucky or easy to please. I just tend to really do a lot of homework upfront to avoid disaster. Some have turned out better than others, but so far, no dislikes. So, based on Boss Bottled featuring in so many YouTube top ten lists, I thought Id blind buy this one as well. and my, oh my... this is THE BOSS of blind buys so far. It is exceptional. It oozes beauty, elegance, refinement and class, without even trying, whilst maintaining a presence that is definitive and distinct. Its masculine, but not macho. Its confident but not pushy. Complex without being complicated. Uplifting but not giddy. Its playful but also does not allow to be messed with. Its attractive and appealing, almost verging on seduction, but not quite, which makes it wildly sexy in the most subtle, innocuous way - like the innocent seduction of ones first love. This is a gem that comes very close to perfection in what I look for in a fragrance. Its a timeless classic that has been around for many years, and will be around for many to come. You will totally understand once you have put your nose to the gorgeous opening and superb dry-down. If I had to start my collection all over again - THIS would be my very first buy.

This is one of those fragrances that almost feels pointless to review because it’s been around for so long. Everyone knows it, everyone’s worn it, but for me, it’s my signature scent. I always repurchase it when I run out. It’s safe for any occasion, a date, the office, visiting your girlfriend’s or boyfriend's house, you name it. It’s sweet, masculine, approachable, and just incredibly versatile. I’ve worn it to festivals, to work, and everywhere in between. I’ve received compliments from both younger and older people. It’s the fragrance I’ve been wearing consistently for 4 years, my go to when I just need something easy to throw on. The downside is its longevity and projection. If this had the sillage of something like Club de Nuit or Montale, I’d stock up like crazy. I don’t want it to be overpowering, but I do wish it lasted longer. Right now, you spray it on, leave the house, and within about 3 to 4 hours, people around you likely won’t smell it anymore, even if you can still pick it up faintly on yourself. Despite that, I love it. It’s a great all rounder and a very safe blind buy. I’m 25, and while some people say it leans toward a younger, sophisticated vibe, I honestly think anyone can wear it. It doesn’t feel tied to a specific age group, though I can see why some might associate it more with younger men.

I'm a woman and I LOVE this. Hands down my favorite masculine fragrance. It is soft, clean and cuddly. It automatically makes any man who wears it seem boyfriend or marriage material: it reminds me of the study in which female respondents found hard, craggy male faces to be sexually exciting but only worth a hot fling, and soft, rounded, "feminine" male faces more reliable, more trustworthy, and really nice to have babies with. Boss Bottled is the latter, in contrast to uber-manly stuff like Antaeus or Drakkar Noir. It's a really soft, slightly musky, spicy but mainly vanilla fragrance that retains a bit of the rather jarring green apple opening throughout its development. It's very popular, but it's not ordinary (and commuter flights within, say, Scandinavia and Germany, simply reek of the stuff). So, guys, if you want to project a nice sexy corporate-man "I'm ready to commit" (or "I'm already committed") sort of vibe, wear Boss Bottled, lean back and survey the effect. DOn't forget to share with the womenfolk from time to time.
