Song For a Wanderer

This is lovely. I don't usually care for white flowers but there's enough going on beyond the jasmine to cut the floral notes. I get a licorice note in the beginning which is very interesting. I don't really get fruity notes, although I wish I did. It's an almost effervescent slightly floral woody fragrance. When I first got the bottle it didn't last long on my skin, but the longer I have it the longer it lasts on my skin. One of those that had to keep maturing or my nose needing to mature. I do not know. Definitely a winner for me. Year round fragrance completely unisex.

I love this. Unique profile with woods, soil and some lightness from the berries and citruses. I am not sure what it is about it, but it reminds me of Milan in spring.

A smell of a basement somewhere in Europe. Very challaging. Brings lot of memories. But ... i can not imagine an occasion to wear it except digging somebody a grave.

I want to like this, but like every other azman I’ve sampled, it’s too heavy-handed with the smoke/incense

Pleasant and interesting floral fruity chypre style composition with a unique earthy leaning center. The scent opens with notes of citruses and berries and proceeds to a heart that has jasmine, lavender, targeted, cloves and soil like smoky notes. The perfume settles on a bed of patchouli, sandalwood, slight oud, cedar, synthetic musk and oakmoss. The unisex scent has strong projection and very good longevity. The scent may be considered as an economical alternative to Boadicea Blue Sapphire since they have fairly similar drydowns with some differences in the heart. Enjoy!

Not a fan. Nothing for me but amber and oud from start to end. Very very earthy. All the top notes were nonexistent on my skin and just went straight to the base notes + the geosmin note. I personally think it smells bad, I wouldn't want to smell like this, and would assume someone needed a shower if I smelled this on them. But if earthy is your thing, the projection and longevity are decent on this. From what I've smelled of this house, not alot of originality, I feel like I've smelled this (and the others I sampled from them) before.

If Riad Jasmine was a nod to Middle Easter fragrances then be prepared to be blown away by the sheer versatality of Mr. Maurice. Songs for a Wanderer (salute to the marketing team of Azman for naming) is an earthy, woody, serious scent that may remind you of Amouge's Figment Man but to my nose it is more vibrant and interesting than latter. It starts off with combination of citruses with Passion Fruit being more prominent followed by smoky, earthy tone and ultimately dries down into woody must aroma. Note card says it contains Oud from Laos but i didn't any apparent funk or skank that this oud is most known for. Not my favorite from the house but overall a unique and somewhat challenging offering.

This is like Violet Sapphire but less sweet and with a huge geosmin note. It smells like literal soil in the forest but flooded with berries and petals and broken pieces of wood. Gorgeous and much much more pleasant than the notes would probably suggest. In fact, I would be happy to declare this one of the most complex and natural-smelling "earthy" scents.

I can see the connections with bat and panda but for me, this is a more austere, older brother of escentric 05 because of the sweetness it lacks. I find this to be more wearable than bat and panda tho. There are some berry nuances to make this enjoyable. Try a sample if you can.

I love this - it's basically like a juicy raspberry rolled around in fresh dirt to my nose - but for some reason my skin just seems to eat it and it's barely there as a skin scent after an hour or two. I've yet to give it a full wear so here's hoping it does better on clothes.

Very interesting, but hard to wear. Earthy, mildly lightened by the fruity notes. Not bad at all, but a bit hard to wear. Give it a try before you buy.
