Where We Used To Live

This is like nothing I've smelled before. It is no surprise that Euan McCall is the perfumer given that it combines so many notes into a creation that is unique and blended to perfection. I've been impressed by his fragrances at Jorum Studio. This knocks your socks off in the opening, with a gorgeous candied floral melange that seems heavy on the heliotrope, honeysuckle and osmanthus. But the closer your nose gets, you can make out the oud, vetiver, cypriol, and patchouli. They're not dirty or skanky at all, but provide a counterbalance to the sweet floral notes. Will update after it dries down. I did end up getting a bottle and am enjoying it. The oud might not make it ideal for spring and summer, but if you live in a cooler climate than I do then it should be fine.

It reminds me of LV Contre Moi that has been discontinued, but so much better. Smells like a fruity bubblegum, not in a bad kind of way ,sophisticated and delicious. Very comforting, and very addicting, I can't stop smelling my wrist. Sillage and longevity is really good. Can not recommend this fragrance enough.

From a sample. It has a really bright, almost intense lemongrass herbal opening which reminded me of some hoodoo oils I used to have. I can smell the heliotrope but it's not overwhelmingly play-doh-y. Just a touch, but more subtle under a marzipan almond, and I would say, as I've continued to write, also tempered by a mellow oud. The woodiness of the oud gives way to a powderiness that's a dead ringer first for Aramis Calligraphy Rose, then the vanilla of Shamilar extrait. I'd say the strength of this perfume is that the notes unfold in a Jacob's staircase fashion - one, after the next after the next, a liquid unfurling of distinct scents. On a focused, second sampling of just writing down the notes and impressions I smelled in the order I experienced: bergamot reminds me of Shalimar vanilla powder an unnamed sweetness/tartness gourmand vanilla again ? rose Between these two lists, you probably have a semi-idea of how this perfume smells and works. Good luck! It's not FBW for me, it's nice. It's cool. But I don't need it in my collection. Doesn't last all that long. Doesn't really project. Could wear it anytime, occasion, season, personally.

Starts a bit powdery and sweet, with a purple marker note and fresh greens. After 30 mins, a warm dry incense, oud and vanilla character takes over, with very slight smoke. For all the floral notes, it doesnt read very floral, and I sort of wish for more photorealism in that department. It is quite sweet, which I like. Lower in sillage for an alch based perfume. Not too powerful, easy to wear and super pretty. Reminds me of Poesie perfume oils quite a bit, which I have always guessed rest on a signature base of oud + vanilla.

Today I tried it and thought - Jorum Studio could easily have something like this - such a complex, strange mishmash. And so it turned out. Euan McCall is very recognizable. Only this is even brighter and louder. Very interesting, very unusual, wild flowers, incomprehensible, unglamorous. The pyramid does not tell you anything at all. Usually all these notes sound different. Unfortunately, this beauty gave me a headache. Very viscous and heavy.

this stinks to me i keep resmelling myself hoping ill change my mind and its just. mildly unpleasant. kinda playdohy rubbery in a way that is just not how id like to smell. the first spray is the worst and the vanilla coming out in the drydown is an improvement but i would def say this is not a safe blind buy. ordered a few azmaf samples from indigo perfumery for funsies and thought this would be the stand out but its probably my least favorite of the 4 i got... ah well. killer vavoom and two minutes after the kiss are much more for me!

I'm in the minority here, but I'm getting old garage with tires and traces of motor oil on the floor surrounded by pretty florals that almost, but not completely, block the view.

Sweet comforting floral woody musk scent. It opens with floral notes of mostly heliotrope, magnolia and blackcurrant. The heart reveals jasmine, rose and saffron. The perfume settles on a powdery base of synthetic musk, vanilla, vetiver, patchouli and slight oud. The slight feminine leaning scent has moderate to strong projections and good longevity. Not hugely original (many nods to L’Heure De Nuit) but evokes a sense of familiar nostalgia and a dessert like warmth. Enjoy!

Have you ever been slapped by a perfume? No? Well this one slaps you hard and you will be mesmerized by it rather than getting agitated. This starts off with blast of florals like Jasmine, Magnolia, Honeysuckle and Heliotrope. This blast is so potent, so powerful that it may come across as overwhelming but soon molecules of florals rest and you get a powdery, an orgasmic scent that will glue your nose to your wrists. Osmanthus which joined the party in the middle, stays till the end along with rose and vanilla. Just like Maurice's duo, this one doesn't have oud as prominent note because if its there, I'm unable to pick it altogether. Overall, beautifully tenacious floral scent with a definite "WOW" factor.

A beautifully nostalgic scent, smells like a soft embrace from a loved one back home. The osmanthus and heliotrope are front and center, giving it a peachy, gently powdery quality before it dries down to a woodsy musk scent. The florals are blended so that nothing particularly stands out from the rest, and the oud is more of an accent than a major player. My favorite from Azman so far.
