Azzaro Chrome Aqua

This is different from the others in the Chrome line. Yes, some sweetness, citrus and Marine accords. But, there is depth that is unlike the other flankers. There is a woodiness that is accompanied by some fresh spiceness with some green tone to it, almost pine like but, not quite. I find the scent as a whole quite invigorating and it pops really, really good off of one’s skin for that first hour or two. It has the Chrome DNA, it’s just woodier and greener and it sets it apart from the rest of the line. And I like it, a lot. Citrus, Marine and those lightly sweet accords blend well and then slowly morph into the wood and Spicey drydown with some of that aquatic citrus lingering but, in the background as a subtle side note. In the right moment with a nice summer breeze you’ll catch a nice hint of it every once in a while. The depth that I mentioned earlier though really takes this scent to another level and I can see this as an all year wear. Perhaps even signature scent worthy. It’s shooting for what today’s fragrances are trying to accomplish but, it has enough to be just a bit different and quite alluring. Anyone can wear this and they will wear it well. It’s not groundbreaking but, it has more than enough to impress. Speaking on performance, this nice gem has some legs. Like I said, it will pop off the skin for a good hour or two and it will stay with you for a good 6-8 hours with a nice scent bubble that’s about half an arms length from you. 3-4 good sprays is about right for a full work day. Has real good potential for versatility and wear for any moment or occasion. Worthy of a spot in one’s collection. By the way, it’s available for a pretty decent price at roughly $35-$45 for 100ml. Pretty good deal if you ask me....

Oh my god this is good. The best fresh/aquatic scent I’ve tried in years. What sets it apart from the rest (like Polo deep blue, Dylan blue, eternity aqua, DG light blue, nautica voyage, etc) to me, is the combination of that light fresh clean/soapy quality of the EDT with a very herbaceous heart and balsamic drydown. So many scents in this style smell so sickly synthetic to me, but this strikes me as much more natural in the heart and drydown especially. It’s got this slightly sweet/resinous drydown that is especially outstanding, it’s not TOO woody or herbal but just a perfect mix of green, herbal spice and resinous wood/vetiver that is truly magnificent. I did NOT expect to be this impressed with a freakin Azzaro Chrome flanker, but this one really wowed me. It feels very casual, very Italian, very refreshing and uplifting, but also relaxing... like I’m on the coast surrounded by fresh citrus groves, herbs and flowers with a light breeze blowing through the trees.

I have to say this is a great aquatic. Can't stop smelling my arm with this one. It is fairly strong to me for a light aquatic type scent. After a couple of minutes it settles into a non sweet but delicious watery spicy profile. It gets better and better as it dries. Total safe card up your sleeve for spring, summer and why not fall. No one will find this offputting which really is what I am about - maximum appeal. I find that for an aquatic it is actually unique, it doesn't remind me of anything else which usually always happens. I smell one fragrance and a couple of other pop up in my mind. Not this one. Now it doesn't smell quite like Acqua di gio, but it is certainly a great summer alternative for if you're tired of that one. This is not as sour and sharp but more subtle, youthful and juicy. And it's obviously affordable. Bravo Azzaro!

Right off the top I get a herbaceous blast of basil mixed with citrus and a watery note. For me the basil dominates well into the dry down, picking up some equally herbaceous, but welcome mint. Strangely enough this reminds me strongly of AdG Profumo. The resemblance is so uncanny that I’m tempted to call this fragrance redundant. However, these are just initial impressions. I’m curious to see what the high heat does to the scent profile. Update: The first 70+ degree day wearing this and it’s another fragrance altogether. Yes, the resemblance to AdG is there, but Chrome Aqua is more energetic and youthful. My only gripe is that my skin absolutely eats this stuff. I enjoy maybe two hours before it’s a skin scent. Very addictive though, I found myself reapplying liberally.

Outstanding offer from Azzaro...this one threw me for a loop. Fresh and green. Citrusy. Aquatic. Well done. Opens with sweetness of apple and and a bit of citrus. The freshness of the mint and herbal basil are peeking around the corner. As it dries down, mint/basil really come forth giving you a sweet green freshness. So incredibly fresh and invigorating. I pick up some Vetiver later...but only for the sake of adding depth. Longevity and projection are a bit better than average. Spring/summer gem. Overall, this is fantastic. Maybe I feel this way because I went in with such low expectations...but I will use this heavily this Summer. Go to Macy’s to spray down and live with a day...but I bet you will end up picking up a bottle at discounters.

Quick take: I purchased this scent around the same time I got Hugo Reversed. I cannot help myself to comparing them. I think they smell a lot alike to my nose- or at least there is definitely some overlap. They are both very fresh and have the “shower gel” quality. Overall performance with this one is also great. I have no complaints. Perhaps (as implied by the name) Chrome is more aquatic. This is blue and Boss leans more green. I like both. Great safe scent. Nice gift for the younger crowd. Fragheads may not appreciate it’s lack of nuance or originality. But if you are a fan of the Chrome line and it’s flankers pick it up. The bottle is beautiful.

Really quite impressed with this release. Its one third citrus,one third aquatic,one third green.This is nice because its not overly marine or salty,something i dislike in some aquatic fragrances but this is nicely balanced.Still has that Chrome metallic thing going on but like all elements in here its balanced and not off putting like i find in the original. Nice burst of Grapefruit at the start and really get the mint and basil. The mint in here reminds me of Carven L'eau Intense. Good longevity and silage. Cheap at £25 for 100ml. Good job Azzaro!

Azzaro Chrome Aqua is a citrus, acuatic and aromatic fragrance. Its opening is very citric and sparkling, and after a short time it shows some very aromatic green herbal notes, which maintain the freshness of the fragrance throughout its development. Chrome Aqua is a fragrance for daytime use, in spring and summer, casual outings or with friends. Its duration can reach about 6 hours, but very close to the skin. Its smell is very nice and easy to wear, I like this Chrome flanker, although I would like better performance.

I have this for 2 months now and I love it. It is a better, more modern acqua di gio. It lasts more than ADG, but it has worse projection. ADG projects quite nicely on me for an hour and a half, this doesn't project more than half an hour, but then in lingers on for about 6 hours, the last 3 as a skin scent. Overall I love the smell, but I wish it was a little bit more powerful. You can wear Chrome Aqua during the day and ADG Profumo in the evening, if you want to get a similar experience during a whole day of summer.

This is a little different from the other Chrome flankers. This has cypress down at the bottom and it gives it an earthy, darker part to it but it still maintains that very pleasant freshness up top. The projection and longevity filled the room for me and I'm at the seven hour mark and can still smell it on my skin. They really nailed it with this one and I'm impressed! It smells fantastic! I give this a 9.4/10 I thought this would be a little more of the same but it's not! Try this one if you're a Chrome fan!

just got it yesterday.let me tell you one thing...i love chrome line and i have tried a lot of them, this is my favorite hands down.its so sea side like...minty fresh airy and also herbaceous in some way.but the fruity element at heart after initial citrus marine blast makes it so pleasant.one can not miss the ADG/ADG Absolu vibe in it.summer in a bottle, lovely bottle design and color.it works.no metallic tone like chrome...brand new juice...with very decent perfromance, good for anyday...every day 9/10

Really, really pleasant if you like clean-smelling fragrances. The apple is moderately strong in the opening, but the basil and vetiver are the strongest notes in this overall. Not super long lasting, had to respray after the three hour mark as it basically became non-existent on me, but that's pretty usual for fresh scents. If you have other fragrances that are fresh and green smelling, maybe hold off on this one, but is a great staple for a collection either way. Great for work and summer occasions.

Beautiful scent that will surely garner compliments! The opening has a fresh citrus blast of orange with that "out of the shower" cleanliness that's well balanced and non-offensive to the nose. The projection and longevity are decent. I get about 3 hours of strong projection which then sits closer to the skin. The dry down is a mild but pleasant powdery cream note that's similar to Bleu de Chanel. Definitely a safe blind that has the versatility to be worn in any occasion. Safe for the office and gym

This is actually my favorite Chrome flanker. I use this for the gym or during the warmer months. I would describe this as a hike through a wet pine forest. The bottle is probably the best out of all the Chrome variants. A very cool frosted darker green with a white cap. Even the nozzle matches the green. Performance is average for an aquatic. Say 4-5 hours max. That's all it really needs to be though. Just something to feel refreshed. This might not be for everyone, but it gets a 5/5 from me.

The ultimate "aquatic" marine summer fragrance for me - refreshing, green salty and immediately reminding of a seashore on vacation. I really don't get the Aqua di Gio hype, Chrome is much better to me, very underrated in comparison. Also much greener, but not as green as JV Artisan Pure. I'd rate it higher that those mentioned, possibly only matched by Bvlgari Aqva line. Performance is good for aquatic. Great frag and good value.

This just smells incredible. I've been wearing it all week because I love the scent so much. I love the sea notes mixed with the green notes mixed with the fruit notes. It smells like nature, with a zesty freshness and just enough sweetness. The longevity is lacking a bit, but it's a freshie so it's somewhat understandable. It's blind buy worthy if you're looking for a summer aquatic that can also be worn in other seasons.

This is actually really nice, smells surprisingly like Tom Ford Costa AZZURRA aqua,the pine notes have the same vibe, I would even venture to say this is of higher quality in some ways,more versatile than the aqua name would suggest and could be worn 3 of 4 seasons in all but the coldest months, still kicking myself for not buying the gift set when it was on sale at Macy's for $53.00 a hidden gem and a must try.

Among all the “fresh” summer scents that are presented on the shelves in a perfume store, I liked this one the most. Yes, this is not a beast, but for the summer we need such light and unobtrusive scents. The rest of the scents seemed too samey and banal to me with the same musky base. This one simply excites with its green-sea freshness. A simple and pleasant scent that does not quickly get boring.

Azzaro Chrome Aqua. A fresh aquatic fragrance by Azzaro. To my nose the sea note is "light" like in Acqua di Gio. I mean not salty-agressive like in AdG profumo, Light blue intense or even Bvlgari aqua atlantique. Nice fragrance, I got a lot of AdG vibes in the drydown. Chrome Aqua performs better. Scent : 8/10 Longevity : about 7 hours Sillage : average Like it.

Just unboxed my bottle, so first impressions: at first sprayed, a violet bomb! i love it!!! cannot give anymore feedback as just sprayed it so no idea how it will develop, projection or how long will last yet. update will come in a couple of weeks UPDATE: So I'll give it a 6/10. The scent is fantastic in my opinion, but it doesn't last more than 4hs in my skin.

A great refreshing and fruity summer-spring scent , but also surpisingly good right now, during colder monthes, the basil and cypress notes become stronger than the other notes, and it becomes kind of a woody salty aquatic scent. It's kind of a different scent than if you wear it during warm monthes.

This is simply put - beautiful aquatic with citrus in the opening... very good performance for a freshie! I have a 50ml bottle and wish I would have gone for a 100ml bottle! It's that good. The praise for this in Fragcomm is not unfounded! Azzaro.. don't re-formulate!

This is an amazing designer fragrance. The basil note in this is to die for. Lighter projection but frankly at this price point my expectations for projection / lasting power aren’t too high. I looove this! Definitely try this!

Besides the original Chrome this is my favorite. Aqua and Extreme are both really good. Legend is also a banger but this is one the best Azzaro has put out in a while. Very good for any time of the year!

Overall great. Smells different for being a blue fragrance, which I appreciate very much. Since it does not last very long, either apply on clothes or reapply to make scent project more. 8/10

I’m a sucker for cypress. Well suited for summer but I’ve worn it in cooler weather indoors. Great scent for a cheapie. I’ve paid more for niche samples than a full bottle of Chrome Aqua

Now this is a lovely surprise - Mandarino di Amalfi with basil? Mouthwatering freshie, takes thirty years off me, great for hot weather. I get decent performance, good £value too. 4/5

Great fragrance, blind bought a 50ml bottle for only £15. Great for the summer time, nicest bottle in my collection! Nice and fresh, I get a lot of Basil and Cypress. 9/10!

This is so underrated for the office. It's stronger and has more depth than ADG edp. I have many more expensive fragrances but still put a solid dent to this bottle!

Wearing this on winter is like jumping in a mediterranean beach somewhere in the south of Italy. This composition brings joy and good bives. Great job Azzaro!

Don’t sleep on the perfumer who made this, he is making a name for himself. This does not smell aquatic, it’s smells like a pure white freshie

Lovely, fresh and long lasting. Perfect for hot summer days

I decided to finally dabble into the Azzaro chrome collection after having the regular chrome for who knows how many years . Blind bought it and I am pretty happy with my purchase. My question was always if the flankers were all able to hold onto that Chrome DNA . This one was able to have hints of it while taking it to a very spring and summer direction . When first sprayed you get big freshness , crisp and citrus with a big helping of the sea notes . All of that with a light mint undertone . After about 20 minutes the top notes start to fade and the basil and mint really intensify . The cypress really packs a punch and gives it that clean pine green smell. After about 45 minutes it's pretty set on those notes . You do get some Vetiver but it's really covered up. It's fresh, clean , marine and green. It is totally a day spring and summer scent . If you are looking for a piney marine fragrance this is definitely worth looking into. The biggest issue with this fragrance is the performance. It will project for a good 45 minutes to an hour. The top notes fade after about 20 minutes and it settles at about 30. It becomes an intimate skin scent at about an hour and 30 minutes. The longest it lasted on my skin was about 4 hours. The bass notes really never become that strong so you can tell that it won't last that long. I figured out what this reminds me of. It reminds me of D&G light blue intense . Except instead of grapefruit this one is more green . It's not totally the same. But it gives an idea. Scent- 8.0 Performance - 5 Bottle - 6.5.

I blind bought this stuff off of FragranceBuy as a 100ml bottle under 40 bucks. I gotta be honest I really like this stuff and nobody can convince me otherwise. It differentiates itself enough as a flanker from the original Azzaro Chrome, but it does have one serious flaw, the performance. The only thing that is this stuffs saving grace here is the violet leaf. When all other notes dwindle the violet leaf still sticks around until it becomes a skin scent. Whenever I smell violet leaf it reminds me of that gasoline type of smell Fahrenheit has. This however is not a clone of Fahrenheit, I just want to be clear about that, but it does have some small petrol vibes, but due to the mix with the other notes it’s not a powerful gasoline type of smell. Rather than read to you what’s in the pyramid, I’ll tell you which notes stand out the most. Opening- Grapefruit and violet leaf Mid- watery notes, and herbal notes. basil/mint Base- Extremely soft cypress The other shitty thing that I experienced is when I opened a sealed box of this juice Azzaro added a cheap white cap with the bottle that fell out of the box. It’s not a deal breaker by any means, but I would strongly suggest not paying over $40 bucks for this stuff, so go through discounters. Like I said prior, I like this equally to the original Chrome. Not more, and not less, it stands on its own and I feel happy wearing this, and I’m pretty sure others will too. Definitely a summer scent. 8/10

A fantastic fragrance -- if not a bit misleading. It's called "Chrome Aqua," but I feel like this is more of a "green" fragrance. There's the usual opening blast of grapefruit (as well as some apple, but it's faint), which is nothing new. The drydown, though, is much more smooth and herbal, and this is the part that sold me. The scent transitions to this extremely pleasing mixture of cypress, basil, and sea notes, and it's far more pleasing to me than what typically constitutes an "aqua" or "blue" fragrance nowadays. No, it's not an ambroxan bomb, and it doesn't follow the citrus-to-musk scent evolution that's been done a thousand times over. That's not to say Chrome Aqua is a goundbreaking fragrance. It definitely doesn't reinvent the wheel (though I strongly disagree with all the votes comparing it to AdG -- they're not at all similar) but chances are that's not what you care about, if you're in the market for a fragrance like this. It's just pleasant as all get out, masculine without a doubt, and will look fantastic sitting on your shelf with it frosted turquoise bottle. Blind buy worthy if you're looking for a freshy, easily. If you're going to test it, make sure you apply it on the skin rather than paper so you get the full experience -- otherwise it might seem overly sharp and linear.

Chrome Aqua is an excellent summer fragrance! Chrome Aqua is extremely easy to wear, very mass appealing --- but doesn't smell generic or cheap. Chrome Aqua is also well composed, and is a "masculine aquatic" fragrance. Chrome Aqua is excellent for running quick errands, going to the gym, going for walks, sports, summer breakfast, brunch, lunch, etc. You name...it'll most likely be wearable. Chrome Aqua is a safe blind buy if you like aquatic/citrus/blue fragrances, and just want to add an inexpensive, nice smelling dumb reach aquatic fragrance to your summer rotation. Chrome Aqua is suitable for wearers of any age....but will likely be more appealing to men 23++. Don't pay retail for this fragrance if you're a collector. The best prices for tester bottles seem to be on Ebay. Discount website have decent prices for testers too. Performance is solid. I get about 4-6 decent hours --- with 6++ sprays on skin. Projection is mediocre....but will push off your skin for about 1-2 hours. Then will dial down to a nice armpit/shoulder length projection for the remainder of the fragrance's life cycle. High humidity and temperatures seem to improve projection and sillage quite a bit. Overall: 8.5/10

#800 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is a sample sprayette. Another Chrome flanker. It must be Wednesday. The number of versions is hard to keep track of. Half of them are fine, half worthless. This is one of the better ones in both scent and performance, but still just so-so. It's a reasonably priced EDT freshie (I would not spend more the $35 on a freshie EDT). I generally have given up on EDTs, but unfortunately the Chrome Parfum and EDP are among the most boring and indifferent of the dozens of versions they've done. The original formula of Chrome, the "Under the Pole" version, the "Intense", "Pure", "Legend", even "Sport" would have all been fine choices for an EDP or parfum concentration. I don't get the thinking at Azzaro. More minty than fruity, this is car pool, elevator, office safe, Summer wear, beach wear, after the gym, etc. Gets compliments while it's projecting. But it's not really unique in any way. Hundreds of similar blues out there, and I really don't think which you wear makes much of a difference. Look above in the "perfume reminds me of" section and just pick one. Jaguar "Ultimate Power" at around $15 will do just as well as ADG at $130.

The youtube reviews so far are good for describing it, so it is a waste of time to do the same here as you can just go look. It is a nice fragrance to have for a summer rotation when sunny weather goes on and on and you want a few more options to reach for. It brings something just a little different. It's got that apple aquatic thing going on, not too sweet though (thank g). For the money, now that it's discounted everywhere it's not much risk to buy this if you like the descriptions. Don't expect complexity here though, it isn't really there. That said it is a still a good smell! The downside? Performance, it is not very good really, which is a bit of a shame. If only the performance was better, but don't let that put you off too much as you could overlook it and would have liked it. All in all, for the cost, it is good, it does a job in the summer and brings a bit of variety if you are on a rotation of designers in hot weather.

All the top and mid notes are there right from the opening for me, though the mint is herbal and tame to my nose. At first it's like the notes are all mashed together and then they become distinguishable for me. Only slightly citrus, a little sweet, a lot of violet. Then the vetiver becomes stronger and I'm left with an aquatic, violet, vetiver fragrance. Pleasant, but neither original nor exciting. Reminds me of chilling with a coffee in Laguna Beach. Performance and projection are ok. The violet-sea notes-vetiver combo do give this a dated feel, but sometimes I like older scents, and so this isn't a deal-breaker for me. Not worth the prices I've seen on discounters and rack stores, but $30 from a Top-Rated ebay seller... why not? Not a must have, but a nice choice for a spring/summer day when I don't know what else to grab.

I think this is being counted as a blue green aquatic. There are some things that I really like about this fragrance: the chrome lineage/quality, the refreshing and deep aquatic feel, the vibrant green mintyness. Unfortunately, the greenness comes across too bubble gummy sweet for my tastes. I think this fragrance leans more toward the younger crowd who may prefer more of the sweet quality. Edit: the above sweetness comment was based on a sample vial. Since then I have purchased a new full size bottle, and it is a little more green and a little less sweet. I don’t know why the sample vial was sweeter, but I am planning to use this new bottle frequently. Although I still plan to layer with something less sweet to create my ideal scent. Overall, this is an excellent fragrance at an excellent price.

I like this. Surpise because Chrome has never impressed me. This is sweet, fruity, minty concoction that is very fresh. It reminds me of John Varvatos Pure Artisan. Not that they smell the exactly same. But as if they were trying to win the same contest, but Chrome Aqua had a different twist. And I am judging CA the winner. This just may replace JV for me. I wore this on a very humid day of about 85 degrees. I feel like the scent was smothered. On my skin, I feel its best to wear this in a drier, breezy spring and summer days and nights. Definitely to be worn on a beach or off a coast. I would wear it in cooler temperatures but its not a cold weather frag for me. Longevity is decent as well as project and sillage. Very uplifting fragrance that doesn't give you a synthetic vibe.

I've used Chrome Extreme in the summer and been very happy with it, so wanted to try Chrome Aqua. Aqua is also a really nice summer fragrance for guys that's different than Extreme, so owning both is not redundant. Aqua is greener and fresher compared to Extreme. The aquatic or marine accord was more prominent with Aqua than in Extreme. But here's the thing, if you normally shy away from marine fragrances, I'd suggest giving Chrome Aqua a try because it seemed to me to be the mildest marine fragrance I've tried. I get the ocean water scent but no rotting seaweed or stale salt water. Performance is moderate all around - got about 5 hours out of it with moderate sillage the first hour. Chrome Aqua is a really nice fragrance best suited for hot summer days or nights.

Very green. I would say a green fragrance with aquatic notes, but not the other way around. This means you'll get the greens first (basil, mint, cypress) but all framed or cradled by the aquatic notes: ergo the walking on the beach/seaweed vibe. I find it quite nice no doubt, a definite summer wear. You do have to be comfortable with greens though, as they shine. In terms of performance, I found that 1 initial spray, followed by a dry-down of 10 minutes, and then a second full application really cements the fragrance and I get a longevity of 6 hours with this method. If I don’t do it, then I really just get 20 minutes. It’s as if the first application creates an effect with the natural skin oils which makes the second application a complete success.
