Chrome Parfum Review I don’t understand why this fragrance is getting so much hate. I’ve been buying cologne for years, and living in South Florida, it’s tough to find a parfum you can wear in any situation, especially in extreme heat. Show me another fragrance at any price point that can perform like that! Some of you need to lower your expectations. This is a $50-60 fragrance, and if you’re looking for monster performance that lasts for days, go spend $200+ on something else (though I don’t get why anyone would want to smell like the same thing for over 8 hours anyway). Unless you have a serious odor problem, there’s no need to drench yourself in it! Now, back to the review: this might not be the best in the Chrome line, but it definitely holds its own. I own nearly the entire line, and each fragrance has its own unique characteristics. I was honestly surprised that this parfum works so well in high heat without becoming overwhelming. As long as you’re not sweating buckets, it has decent sillage outdoors in the sun and lasts a good while. I’m still working on collecting every flanker, but so far, I’ve tried the OG, EDP, Parfum, Extreme, United, Aqua, and Legend—and none of them have disappointed. Keep in mind, you shouldn’t expect more than what you paid for. If you do get more, then that’s just a bonus!

Updating here: I grew to really like/love this one. I bought a bottle and it was worth it. It smells like other things, but not quite like anything else. Strikes the right balance between fresh, aquatic (not very much!), and green with the slightest bit of mint. Great everyday wear especially as it heats up here. Easy reach. Mature. Somewhat generic, I guess, but also kinda like a clean dude should smell. Upped my rating. Glad I went for it and hope this one sticks around. ... Fresh, brisk, pleasant, masculine, not sweet: all good things in my book. Been testing it. I like it enough. It has an old-school vibe with the heavier fir/pine notes, and definitely would appeal more to mature men. It's an any time, any place kind of scent, really. Inoffensive. It lasts a long while on my skin, 6+ hour. Not unique or groundbreaking, but smells pretty good, if synthetic. Thing is, it reminds me of many smells, and I've been trying to place exactly what. Tonight I figured it out: Shaving gel. It smells like Gillette- or Edge-style gels. That's not bad, per se, but it also makes the synthetic nature stand out more in my mind. You could do much worse, but I'm not sure I'd pay $40 at discounters to smell like a 90s-era drugstore staple.

I'm really surprised this isn't getting more love! I finished my first sample and just got another. Easily the best Chrome flanker I've experienced although Aqua is excellent too, I did think Extreme was the best but for some reason I grew tired of that one (still decent though). Parfum has a pleasing earthy kind of quality, particularly in the earlier stages. I don't really detect this 'bubblegum' that people have mentioned but it has a modern edge for sure. I haven't tested side by side but perhaps there's a little similarity to Ralph's club Parfum, at least that kind of vibe, mixed with a touch of Chrome EDP and a little Chrome Aqua. There's surely some vetiver in here which becomes more apparent (to me at least) in the mid and base along with the evergreen notes (recalling Aqua), preventing Chrome Parfum from being completely linear. Definitely on my full bottle 'want' list.

I like this one. Tingly ambroxan mixed with fresh fir and aromatic sage. I saw someone say it's like a mix between a blue and a green fragrance. I whole heartedly agree. The bergamont gives it a quick citrus blast off the top, and I think I detect a bit of mandarin, too- although it's not pushy and it's not listed in the official notes. Minimal sweetness, but not totally dry. Does anyone else get a little smokiness? Like a campfire in the distance? I think that's the fir resin. I've seem some dislike because of poor performance, but I'd have to disagree. Just taking the cap off this and getting a little on my fingers means I'm smelling it for hours- even over the fragrance I'm already wearing. Maybe it's just how it reacts on my skin...but it hangs around for an entire work day. It's not especially complex. It's not refined. But it does smell good. Fresh and mature. 7/10

I'm surprised by the negative reviews but then I suppose it might be a bit divisive in a similar way that the recent Kenzo Homme line is not for all tastes but brilliantly done. For me this Chrome Parfum is leagues above the EDP in terms of bringing something a bt different to the table. This one has some of the green and aquatic aspects of the EDP but multiplied tenfold while ditching the EDP's resemblance to Acqua Do Gio, specifically the Profundo flankers. The Azure flanker was also seriously disappointing after this one! I think some wearers may go nose blind to this as often when I wear it, with just four of five sprays, people comment on how strong my fragrance smalls and ask if I put on half the bottle I'll have to get a back-up bottled
