Azzaro Chrome Parfum

Chrome Parfum Review I don’t understand why this fragrance is getting so much hate. I’ve been buying cologne for years, and living in South Florida, it’s tough to find a parfum you can wear in any situation, especially in extreme heat. Show me another fragrance at any price point that can perform like that! Some of you need to lower your expectations. This is a $50-60 fragrance, and if you’re looking for monster performance that lasts for days, go spend $200+ on something else (though I don’t get why anyone would want to smell like the same thing for over 8 hours anyway). Unless you have a serious odor problem, there’s no need to drench yourself in it! Now, back to the review: this might not be the best in the Chrome line, but it definitely holds its own. I own nearly the entire line, and each fragrance has its own unique characteristics. I was honestly surprised that this parfum works so well in high heat without becoming overwhelming. As long as you’re not sweating buckets, it has decent sillage outdoors in the sun and lasts a good while. I’m still working on collecting every flanker, but so far, I’ve tried the OG, EDP, Parfum, Extreme, United, Aqua, and Legend—and none of them have disappointed. Keep in mind, you shouldn’t expect more than what you paid for. If you do get more, then that’s just a bonus!

Updating here: I grew to really like/love this one. I bought a bottle and it was worth it. It smells like other things, but not quite like anything else. Strikes the right balance between fresh, aquatic (not very much!), and green with the slightest bit of mint. Great everyday wear especially as it heats up here. Easy reach. Mature. Somewhat generic, I guess, but also kinda like a clean dude should smell. Upped my rating. Glad I went for it and hope this one sticks around. ... Fresh, brisk, pleasant, masculine, not sweet: all good things in my book. Been testing it. I like it enough. It has an old-school vibe with the heavier fir/pine notes, and definitely would appeal more to mature men. It's an any time, any place kind of scent, really. Inoffensive. It lasts a long while on my skin, 6+ hour. Not unique or groundbreaking, but smells pretty good, if synthetic. Thing is, it reminds me of many smells, and I've been trying to place exactly what. Tonight I figured it out: Shaving gel. It smells like Gillette- or Edge-style gels. That's not bad, per se, but it also makes the synthetic nature stand out more in my mind. You could do much worse, but I'm not sure I'd pay $40 at discounters to smell like a 90s-era drugstore staple.

I'm really surprised this isn't getting more love! I finished my first sample and just got another. Easily the best Chrome flanker I've experienced although Aqua is excellent too, I did think Extreme was the best but for some reason I grew tired of that one (still decent though). Parfum has a pleasing earthy kind of quality, particularly in the earlier stages. I don't really detect this 'bubblegum' that people have mentioned but it has a modern edge for sure. I haven't tested side by side but perhaps there's a little similarity to Ralph's club Parfum, at least that kind of vibe, mixed with a touch of Chrome EDP and a little Chrome Aqua. There's surely some vetiver in here which becomes more apparent (to me at least) in the mid and base along with the evergreen notes (recalling Aqua), preventing Chrome Parfum from being completely linear. Definitely on my full bottle 'want' list.

I like this one. Tingly ambroxan mixed with fresh fir and aromatic sage. I saw someone say it's like a mix between a blue and a green fragrance. I whole heartedly agree. The bergamont gives it a quick citrus blast off the top, and I think I detect a bit of mandarin, too- although it's not pushy and it's not listed in the official notes. Minimal sweetness, but not totally dry. Does anyone else get a little smokiness? Like a campfire in the distance? I think that's the fir resin. I've seem some dislike because of poor performance, but I'd have to disagree. Just taking the cap off this and getting a little on my fingers means I'm smelling it for hours- even over the fragrance I'm already wearing. Maybe it's just how it reacts on my skin...but it hangs around for an entire work day. It's not especially complex. It's not refined. But it does smell good. Fresh and mature. 7/10

I'm surprised by the negative reviews but then I suppose it might be a bit divisive in a similar way that the recent Kenzo Homme line is not for all tastes but brilliantly done. For me this Chrome Parfum is leagues above the EDP in terms of bringing something a bt different to the table. This one has some of the green and aquatic aspects of the EDP but multiplied tenfold while ditching the EDP's resemblance to Acqua Do Gio, specifically the Profundo flankers. The Azure flanker was also seriously disappointing after this one! I think some wearers may go nose blind to this as often when I wear it, with just four of five sprays, people comment on how strong my fragrance smalls and ask if I put on half the bottle I'll have to get a back-up bottled

I picked this up recently for $25 (50 ml), and it is an absolute steal at this price. Skin chemistry and olfactory fatigue are definitely real factors here. Unlike other reviewers, I'm getting great longevity 8+ hours off of 4-5 sprays around my neck and chest. It may not fill a room, but it leaves a solid sillage trail when I wear it. I'm a fan of the Chrome DNA, so I really enjoy the modern blue/sweet elements surrounding the nods to the original concept. I think it's a great value If you can pick it up for 25-30 bucks like I did. Overall, I am surprised at the low rating it had on here as well as the Overall lack of attention that it receives in general.

I tried this yet again in a perfumery today (although I have a sample at home 😀 ). Two sprays on my wrist then 90 mins or so later at my physio appointment, a woman who was about to leave said out loud 'oh so that's what that great smell is, this guy's fragrance!' I was surprised it was apparently projecting quite a lot! Nice, airy and masculine we're some words used to describe the scent. Now three hours since spraying it's still going pretty strong on my wrist. Good stuff IMO! Edit; since tried the EDP again and it's very different, it's pleasant, much lighter & with a soft touch of sweetness, not earthy like this Parfum - I much prefer this Parfum!

Chrome Parfum is the first fragrance I have ever bought because of nostalgia and/or "good vibes." I make Bourbon (i-bourbon.com/shop). Yet, my nostalgia is such that I want to have a an Azzaro Chrome bottle on my sink. I hate it, but it's true. I would not have bought the 3.4 oz Chrome Parfum except for its forefathers. I hate myself for that. I have learned to love the juicy options of Azzaro Chrome Parfum. It's giving a pine, syrup, juicy vibe. Has anyone decided on @azzaro? I think they may have a great fragrance with #Chrome Parfum, but I can't read anything....

One of my favourite Chrome flankers so far, it's nothing too wild or inventive but it's very well done. Quite similar to the EDP but not exactly the same to me, this one is a little less sweet, perhaps it has a touch of 'Extreme' or 'Aqua' but it doesn't veer so much towards the green side of things and is smoother, richer. 'Parfum' has some of that modern fuzzy/mineral aroma in the late dry down too which can be divisive among fragrance enthusiasts (I like it). One of those versatile modern scents.

I find it mind boggling that this gets such little hype, it really does smell good IMO. Gone through a few samples now, looking forward to getting a full bottle when it becomes more affordable at discounters. It's invigorating yet is one of those fresh scents that works in colder weather too, at least for me. In fact I'd say it might be less suited to hot weather (in a similar way to the recent Kenzo Homme line) due to it's strength and green components. Spring and autumn would be perfect.

It’s so simple a smell you’d think people would get bored of it! NOT the case, it’s a cologne that gets all the praise from women and why I can’t say. Never the case with Dior intense, any of the woody or even sweeter smells. It’s so fresh and clean, welcoming. The die down lasts for hours atleast 8 hours. You’ll always smell it, the projection opening hits for an hour, it’s the clean soft die down that really shines. solid 8.85/10 Excellent for women apparently.

It’s so interesting how subjective fragrance is! This fragrance is nothing more than a shower gel fragrance but I find it to be outstanding! I had no intention to buy this when I went to the store but the representative and I liked it so much that I decided to go back to the store after the fact to pick it up! It really projects, it has good longevity, my wife likes it and I like it, many wins! I didn’t really enjoy the EDP but this one I do! 8.75/10

I'm really pleased with this one. I sampled a number of other Chrome and blue fragrances over the space of a week, and this one kept pulling me back. I'm really enjoying the slightly smoky and outdoorsy notes here. It's still green and fresh, but it's also mature. If other blues are fresh at the office, than this one is fresh at the cottage.

Blind bought. Sprayed. Instantly excited. A lot of reviews were lackluster, but this is anything but. Chrome parfum is masculine, clean and versatile, a great dumb reach. I'm not a fan of the super-sweet Wanted line, but I really like how Azzaro does fresh fragrances. Still testing longvity, but, so far, I'd say it's at least moderate.

This deserves a way better rating than it’s got! It’s a great summer freshie with very good performance! If this fragrance had a LV label on it people would buy it all day and talk about how great it is. Definitely a more masculine older gentleman kind of freshie. It’s great for what it is and at a very affordable price.

I like this one. It is a bit simpler but that's probably why I like it. The projection, sillage, and longevity are average but it's affordable from the usual discounters. I don't have the most trained nose, but to me the dry down leans towards the same woodsy dry down of AF fierce or mont blanc legend.

Is this even released yet? How can there be so much hate for a fragrance that hasn't even hit shelves yet? And how does something nobody has smelled remind them of so many other fragrances? Absolutely ridiculous. This nonsense is really starting to get out of hand....

One of the things which separates Chrome Parfum from being "a generic blue scent" is the very compelling pine/for/balsam note. It's a bit like adding a nice dose of Polo (Green) into a deep blue. It's really different if you let yourself think about it.

Smells like a man that’s just showered and has gotten into some rugged work right after. Rugged yet very fresh and mass appealing. At first it was mostly just soapy and aftershave but after maturation the musk came in, but it smells great.

I don’t know what all the hate is about, as soon as I smelt this in shoppers I knew I needed to have it. It’s almost like if sauvage and profondo had a baby. I wouldn’t recommend buying full price obviously. Go buy from a discounter.

This is the definition of the Blue fragrance. It smells like a Gillette aftershave from the early 2000's. Blind buy safe, Manly, young adult smell. Bottle quality, silage, projection is mediocre.

Azzaro chrome parfum is well suited for spring and summer. easy to wear, smooth and fresh green acquatic scent with above average performance (8~10H) on my skin.

Blind bought this and love it..Its very strong..I sprayed 10 times and it was too much..5 sprays max next time

This one is interesting and comes across to me like a bar of Irish Spring soap (to a degree, but of course this parfum is not as edgy). It does behave like a parfum, sits close to the skin shortly after application. There is a fir note, and a minty kind of freshness, and you can detect fruity aspects. This may sound weird, but it almost smells like if you took something like Versace Dylan Blue and modified it with Green Irish Spring soap, you would get this. The performance is my only issue with it, perhaps would be better as an EDT or EDP.

This is darker and richer than regular Chrome. It's nice, even if it's not unique. I can't speak on its skin performance as I was only able to try it on a card, but since it projected A LOT from the paper and didn't fade after two days I'm going to assume it's a decent performer. A typical aromatic "blue" with tons of bergamot. Good, pleasant scent. Basically a nighttime version of Chrome.

When I first smelled it, I wasn't that big of a fan of the scent profile but it eventually grew into me. I wore this today and got a compliment saying I smelled like a chocolate toothpaste. Although that drydown is beautiful, it does not project that well. This is still a underrated gem though. Scent Profile : 8.5/10 Longevity : 6/10 Sillage: 4/10

It’s a solid choice for hot summer days, I love the opening with the juicy orange and aquatic notes, however, after about an hour the cologne drys down into a metallic woody skin scent which smells nice but my piss is stronger than this stuff. Can’t complain for only paying $25 for a bottle. 6/10

@ilovespain2009 for some reason maybe not notino spain, but here in slovakia it's available for two or three weeks already. 100ml for 69e, 50ml for 49e. @superdrybri i am totally fine with hating on everything except things i don't actually know. that would be a bit absurd.

Eskilerden sonra yeni Azzaro hiç almadım ve ilgimi çekmedi. Hediye gelen bu parfüm ise açıkçası beni şaşırttı. Biraz fresh biraz ağırbaşlı birazda kalite tarafı var. Her ortam için uygun bence. Kalıcılık çok kuvvetli değil bununla birlikte temiz bir havası var.

Fresh and slightly aquatic with very noticeable undertones of conifer or pine tree. Smells fantastic and I think it would make a great daily driver during spring/summer.

I think it is a very unique fresh fragrance. It has a note that makes it special and unique. King of poor performance from a parfum version.

I dont understand the low ratings. Looks like ratings coming from generic smell lovers. This is an absolutely beautiful scent.

Wow, what happened here? Chrome Eau de Parfum was a nice surprise as an invigorating, versatile, and undeniably pleasant addition to the Chrome line, but this Parfum falls short in just about every category. It doesn't open as nicely, with the bergamot significantly blander than the orange in the Eau de Parfum, and it goes to the drydown almost immediately, which has an OVERWHELMING amount of fir. I normally like fir as a note but here it's just flat, dense, and one-dimensional with nothing to balance it out or make it interesting. I expected this fragrance to have nothing to do with the original Chrome (do any of the flankers, really?) but whereas the Eau de Parfum and Aqua flankers have something unique to offer regardless, this one is entirely uninspired and uninteresting. Pass.

I have an love/hate with Azzaro Chrome line. Azzaro Chrome was the first cologne I ever bought with my own money. I was eighteen years old when I purchased this, now I am 45 years old. Been in love with it ever since. Couple years ago this was my go to work fragrance. I purchased Chrome Extreme as a alternative to Acqua di Gio Profondo. Wasn't bad at all, its performance was leagues above Acqua di Gio Profondo. But I enjoyed Profondo smell a lot more. I finally pulled the trigger on Chrome Parfum after it went on sale on discounters. It was pleasant enough...just felt juvie to me. As if I have out grown this line if that makes sense. Since the purchase I have given a way both my Chrome Parfum and Extreme. Breaks my heart, but all things must go. I give Chrome Parfum 6.5/10

This is a blue powerhouse fragrance. It reminds me a lot of Chrome Intense, only better. Unfortunately, this gives off a funky almost diaper scent. I get a similar funk from the Chrome EDP, but it was less than the Parfum. I think it is some newer chemical composition used in these two newer installments. I also think it is more pronounced on my skin. I don’t get that funky scent from Chrome Aqua or Chrome Pure. I actually just bought a bottle of Pure because it has such a feel good creamy vanilla vibe. However I have to pass on this Chrome Parfum, sadly. There is a lot of good blue, but they need to reformulate for me without the funk. Maybe add in some cedar as well. Your mileage may vary.

It's nice, but it's a scent that you've smelled a hundred times before, which makes sense since Chrome has been around so long that pretty much everyone has smelled it somewhere. Even if you think you've never smelled it, the first time you spray it you'll know instantly that you've smelled it on people before. It's not a head turner. It's good for a casual occasion if you just want to blend in. It's very very similar to Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. I do like this a little better than Light Blue, but it's pretty much the same thing.

Aftershave on steroids, I'm NOT a fan of the ambroxan here.

Smells like Beach Hut Man’s younger white trash cousin.

This is a complete mess, and that’s coming from a huge Azzaro fan. It smells like what a soggy half smoked cigarette floating in a warm glass of beer would smell like. Dry, bitter, resinous, dirty, without a single redeeming quality or hint of any of the other Chrome fragrance notes. Honestly, what were they thinking? Just a huge disappointment. Get the EDT, EDP or Chrome Azure instead, but definitely skip this.

first impressions: Fresh like toothpaste. Safe, linear, has no depth. Polyblend polos.

Bought this at Macy's two weeks ago on a whim. I was hating myself for a few minutes for having spent so much on an impulse purchase. Wearing it however, I was not disappointed as it lasted several hours at work. It has the sensibilities of a Guy Laroche cologne Such as Drakkar Essence in the body or possibly Horizon at the start, but much nicer in the long run. After the initial pine note wore off (the first hour) it turned into a solid "shower gel fresh" scent, and by that I mean strong and good, "clean" and inoffensive. Putting it in the Chrome collection at home upon my return, I decided to compare it to my previous purchases. It made me appreciate the smell of Legend. Compared to my original bottle of Chrome EDT, it made me realize that the OG Chrome is a pretty strange scent, with its light, fleeting insect like (think stink bug) aroma and lingering lemon scent. It's hard to say this perfume is in the same family, but yes, as a an occasional alternative to original Chrome it smells of quality. Not sure if its $100 USD quality for 3.4 ounces yet or not. BTW they will give you a sample at Macy's so try it, walk around the mall for 45 minutes and THEN decide if you want to buy it.

Bought this a few days back, sprayed it on and immediately thought 'wait I have something very very similar...' For the life of me, I couldn't figure out which one though, until going through my perfume collection I stumbled upon its doppelganger - Guy Laroche Drakkar Essence! To be fair, Drakkar Essence came much before this but the similarities are very apparent especially in the top and mid notes. In he dry down, where Drakkar Essence continues on the lighter aromatic path, Chrome Parfum takes on a more darker note thanks to the Fir Resin and I feel this makes it perfect for summer evenings. Drakkar Essence fades off after the 3-4 hr mark but Chrome parfum continues on till around 5-6 hrs after which it's a skin scent on me. Bear in mind this performance is in a hotter than usual Asian country so those living in cooler climates (not very cold) should see better performance. And....Chrome Parfum is definitely a compliment puller! Your typical blue fragrance with a shower gel vibe but with a more mature twist. Love it!!
