Azzaro Pour Homme Amber Fever

I think perhaps the previous review is mixing this up with the similar bottle of Azzaro pour Homme Intense (2015) which is a booze and spice extravaganza with a little nod to the original APH (with which I get above average performance btw). This Amber Fever flanker has nothing to do with the original APH at all but is a modern amber and cacao masterpiece! I've had it for over a year now and still marvel at the quality of this scent, if it was made by one of the more fashionable (hyped) designers or so-called 'niche' powerhouses it would be one of the most talked about amber fragrances in recent years, yep I'm confident of that statement. I urge anyone who likes powerful amber fragrances to give this one a try before it disappears as it's a limited edition which is becoming harder to come by even here in France (in fact it was exclusive to one chain store here). Extremely high quality here guys and gals, puts the brands who sell bottles for hundreds of dollars to shame, it really does. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 9/10 (but for the price more like a 10/10) Presentation: 10/10 brilliant classy updating of the traditional APH bottle.

I bought this a week ago and I have to say it is fantastic, absolutely a hidden gem! Amber Fever has received zero hype and a seemingly limited release but this beauty is something pretty special in my opinion. Looking at the notes one can see this not a complex fragrance however to my nose it has been blended to perfection, you can pick out the three listed notes but also together they create a smooth, warming & comforting scent that performs well while keeping it's elegance. The 'amber' base is resinous, balsamic and also vanillic, so very inviting and sensual. You will keep sniffing yourself and others will want to smell you! Keep in mind that (to my nose) this has almost nothing in common with the classic Azzaro pour Homme, Amber Fever is much more 'modern' smelling and should appeal to all ages. This is a perfect scent for the cooler seasons a high quality under the radar release from Azzaro. The bottle looks fantastic too. Sweet, ambery, spicy. Its starts with a sweet green note, green apple-like, with a prominent amber note. The sweetness is not very chocolaty/cacao-y & is more vanilla-like sweetness. Then that smell gets spicy. The spiciness is similar to another from the line which is Hot Pepper that I'm surprised at the lack of chili or pink pepper in Amber Fever. The amber is very warm & cozy here & elicits similar vibe to that of D&G The One but sweeter & spicier. The end result is a soft, warm, & attractive scent of amber with a cool & sweet powdery edge. This is a really good & is safe unless you dislike sweet scents. I "Love" it!

This fragrance had to grow on me. It took me a few wears to get past the opening. The initial spray is slightly medicinal. I'm assuming it's the Clary Sage at the top. After a couple of minutes, it settles down and the beautiful Cacao and Amber notes take over and I get a honey, chocolatey smell. With about six to eight sprays it projects off my skin for about three hours and I have a nice scent bubble for at least another three hours and then dies down after about eight hours. For the money, this is a great fragrance. Very underrated. I give it a solid 7.5/10.

Wow man i also have Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense and the similarity is crazy, but the only distinct factor between the two is PAPHI and APHAF is bitterness vs sweetness (Prada is bitter vs azzaro is sweet) but man where were this fragrance all this time I LOVE IT! I'm seriously thinkin about buying the rest of the this line (Naughty Leather & hot pepper) 10/10 Performance evaluation: Lasting power: unfortunately 4 hours before it dissipates into your skin Projection/Trail/Sillage: unnoticable, basically a skin scent.

I smelled this lovely scent yesterday in a store, it's really good! I'm more and more impressed with the house of Azzaro the more I investigate their offerings, I find them rather underrated. This has a bit of the vibe of the equally superb pour homme intense (2015), must be the amber, but this isn't the cinnamon bomb that the intense one is. Both worth checking out for anyone looking for amber-type scents for the colder seasons.

i almost laughed when i smelled this - because it's so good. it's not a heavy, dark amber - it has a brightness to it. it almost goes to a feminine territory, but something keeps it in line. regardless - plain and simply, this is a top notch scent. i believe this can be worn year round. it's not overly complicated - it's just awesome. don't wait - buy it - don't look back.

@ZBone10 I do definitely get similarities on the dry down (must be the amber which is actually excellent in both imo) but to me the scents are different, particularly early on, definitely in a similar ballpark though. I own both and glad I do, also the Azzaro can be found for decent prices online, the scent is of high quality and the bottle looks superb :)

All 3 of the 2018 "Sensual Blend" releases from AZZARO are SPECTACULAR!!! This AMBER version is quite exquisite quite intoxicating and quite beastly!!! Smells soooo rich and natural to my nose....YUMMMM .... the scent 9.0/ the silage/longevity 8.5......... AZZARO is setting their own trends and creativity!! and as always....reasonably priced....CIAO !!

Very very good amber fragrance. Azzaro is back in business and in a serious way.

Azzaro expanded their Azzaro Pour Homme with three Sensual Blends in 2018, Amber Fever being one of them. Ginger Lover was the most popular. That said Azzaro Pour Homme Amber Fever I think is a forgotten good fragrance from this lineup. I got this I want to say in 2020 but due to my climate overlook it. I had a meh experience from it as well. That said I broke it out a few days ago and wowza. I got positive reaction from it. It is a bit of a weird note breakdown. First you get a dirty yet clean clary sage note. Then you smell a cacao that isn't unlike the cacao from Hugo Boss The Scent Private Accord. The base is just amber that smells dirty sweet. I think the cacao gives off the dirty smell but it is bearable. I think two fragrances that smell somewhat close to this are Boss the Scent Private Accord and Azzaro Pour Homme Intense (2015) though both have more going for them. Amber Fever lasts a good six to seven hours on skin and will smell very good. That said the knock on it is that it is a fall winter scent. If you live in the south like Arizona, this isn't a good idea. For thos reason I cannot rate Amber Fever any more than a 7.0 out of 10. Before my last wearing, I would have rated it a 6.5 but the positive reaction turned it around on me.

My feelings towards this changed overtime. When I first smelled this, I remember about a few other reviews I found where the people were stating there was some cough syrup like smell to this. I thought to myself, oh God.... its true. The truth is, I felt the same and didn't like this at first. I decided to keep giving this a chance. I let it sit on my skin and smelled it an hour later. I started to think, maybe there is something to this that I like. I was able to get past that mental block that told me this was cough medicine and instead was a likable amber scent. At times, I can even smell a hint of Wanted by Night in this. I have yet to try the Pour Homme, but I hear people compare it to that, so its probably a few of the key ingredients Azzaro uses. For the price, I say its a good scent and can be used as a dumb reach. I don't feel special wearing this nor do I expect compliments, but the smell of amber and honey-like aroma really lightens me up at home. I even sprayed my fake Christmas tree with this stuff lol If you're curious and have the extra money to spare, I say go for it.

Azzaro Amber Fever is a 2018 release that is part of the Sensual Blends collection, fitting a resinous mix, with a bit of a sharp honey, sugary blend with just a hint of provocative herbal spiciness in the form of an opening of clary sage. Then its dry down has the more understandable mix of resins as well as cocoa. So it achieves the sweet, resinous dominance (frankly, almost too sweet) with just enough of a counterpunch from the onset in the opening with the clary sage. It strikes me as a logical formula, putting just enough contrast into an otherwise fairly homogenous blend of notes that get grouped together quite often (gourmand / resinous. Amber Fever’s concentration is EDP and it performs quite well, and, like many Azzaro fragrances, is available at a very reasonable price—in this case, only $31 on FragranceNet, a real steal. It’s definitely just a “like” not a “love” but it’s enough of a bargain that I’d suggest fans of sweet, ambery fragrances give it a shot if they get to try it, or feel inclined to do a blind buy. 7 out of 10

How to rate this one? What you get is a very thick, rich, resinous, ambery, scent that is very homogenous and smells like honey with a big, big twist. It is deep and I kept smelling myself. Very nice. That, unfortunately, is all that I get. What Azzaro has blended is very good. But it is a note short of a song. It needs another one. It is like Azzaro stopped pushing for gold and settled for a third or fourth place. A seven out of ten. There is one important thing I should stress here. I myself have not dabbled in layering. But I strongly suspect that if you combine this with smoke, tobacco, incense or wood, you would have an absolute KING of a component and create something that can compete with the best out there. Like, not love. P.S: I bought it off someone for 20 and am content, but would be disappointed at the going rate of 40.

At first I thought this was fairly similar to Azzaro Pour Homme Intense EDP but they're actually quite different. Whereas Intense EDP is a warmer, spicier updating of the original Azzaro Pour Homme with a strong emphasis on cinnamon & cognac/brandy, Amber Fever has very little (if any) trace of the original Azzaro Pour Homme, the three notes suggested by the brand are actually a good descriptor, sage, cacao and amber. Herbal chocolate and warm, smooth amber. I've never smelled 'Grand Soir' but it sounds as if could be in that territory as well as Boss Bottled Absolute (and even CK One Shock!). In comparison to many modern releases which generally seem to be doing a similar thing, this is quite elegant while also being pretty strong. You have to enjoy amber-like (not ambroxan!) scents to enjoy this though!

I bought 3 from this line on Ebay so I could try small amounts. Of the 3 this is the one I liked the best and I would say I'm likely to buy a small decant or travel size again someday. It is very simple and it's versatile--I think because it has coziness from the cocoa and amber, and it has freshness from the clary sage. I love it when I enjoy a scent with just a few notes because I think it helps me learn what I most often like or dislike. All three of these notes are winners for me most of the time. The other two I tried were Hot Pepper (which is poorly named--it's a nice scent with some spice, but definitely not "hot" or challenging in its spiciness) and Ginger Lover. Oddly, I AM a ginger lover but I did not like this--I put it on my "don't repeat" list .

It's a nice amber fragrance, Sensual, Sweet and Warm. Top notes : French Clary Sage. Heart notes : Cacao , Frankincense. Base notes : Amber , Tonka Bean , Benzoin. It opens up with like medicinal herbal , sweet and bitter chocolate in the background then dry down is vanilla ambery. If you like sweet amber cologne, you will like this one. It smells so good and very pleasant. This is perfect for the fall and winter. I like Azzaro Pour Homme Amber Fever EDT for Men. When the weather is cold , I really enjoy it. Longevity is good, Highly Recommended. Thumbs Up. Rating : 8 / 10

Underrated fragrance especially for the price! In the opening I actually get an interesting melon vibe, but that quickly fades into a strong, deep amber blended ever so slightly with sage. This is a fantastic nighttime scent for younger people with a slightly dark, sensual edge.

So I decided to get this fragrance and add it to my collection of Azzaro, great smell, great bottle but poor longevity and projection, smells good but I wouldn't call it Intense, the Classic has longer lasting power and better projection..

Mildly green and creamy, youthful and sophisticated.

The opening has a very mild leathery vibe. Gets much sweeter later on in the drydown, reminds me of a hot tea sweetened with honey, dusted with some cocoa.

Soft, powdery, lightly sweet fragrance. Lasts for a good while. The hint of spice gets lost. I'd consider it more of a feminine than a manly scent.

Nice. There’s no way you can go wrong here for $30 and it seems like Amber Fever was definitely one of the better men’s designer releases to quietly emerge in 2019. Its performance is decent—not great, but not terrible, as it works for about 4 to 6 hours, projecting at a steady, medium reach for a few hours before fading and resting close to the skin. So what does it smell like? The best way I can describe it is that it’s a dark, sweet amber-based fragrance, in the vein of something like D&G The One EDP, with a spicy edge, that has subtle notes of chocolate and an even more subtle hint of Cola. Indeed, there’s something about Amber Fever that reminds me of a dessert-like soft drink—a chocolate egg cream or something along those lines. But it’s not over-the-top or literal in any way, it’s just the particular way that the Amber is spiced which gives it that effect. I might even go as far to say that Amber Fever is like a more mainstream, less-polarizing version of L’Instant de Guerlain Extreme. While it lacks the intense patchouli kick of the latter and seems devoid of citrus for the most part, it works with the cocoa note in a similar fashion, creating a sort of dry, earthy-but-fizzy chocolate kick. I don’t think the two are necessarily that similar, but if you’re familiar with LIDGE it can help give you an idea of what AF smells like. Amber Fever is medium-bodied and has a rather dry, lightweight presence that works in its favor. It’s easy to wear in all climates and never feels heavy or sticky or thick, and therefore won’t bog you down if you accidentally apply a little too much or wear it when it’s hotter or more humid than ideal. I’d consider The One EDP its main competition, and if Im being honest, I probably like AF more. My issue with The One EDP is that sometimes the Amber/tobacco blend smells almost too sweet, and even oily. The dryness of Amber Fever on the other hand, keeps it from becoming like that, and although it gets sweeter over the course of a wearing, the bitter, earthy cocoa in its opening keeps the sweetness in check. If I have any criticism of AF, it’s that it becomes a lot sweeter as it develops, losing some of the favorable balance I just spoke of. Still, its sweetness never becomes overwhelming or cloying, and I’m sure plenty of people will enjoy this part of its development, as it definitely gives Amber Fever some romantic appeal, and some of that ‘come closer so I can smell you’ allure characterized by popular “date scents.” At the same time, the fact AF doesn’t take itself too seriously, or project too thickly and powerfully at any time, makes it fine for wearing casually, whether to work or just hanging out. In conclusion, Azzaro Amber Fever is a solid release and a good choice for an inexpensive scent that is warm and sweet, but also somewhat unique in its addition of a chocolate note and the nice balance it creates between sweet and earthy-dry. Its medium to light bodied density makes it easy and fun to wear, and it manages to avoid some of the pitfalls of its main competitor, The One EDP. At its current price point it’s worth exploring Amber Fever to see how it works for you. Final rating, a solid 8/10.

Sweet subtle Amber, sweet herbal Sage. I don't find the cacao very prominent but definitely there.. I find that it has a minty or mentholated quality about it, kind of reminiscent of Layton but not smelling similar. Pretty linear and straightforward scent. I didn't expect it to have such a sweetness to it. Longevity is not good on paper. Sillage and projection are not great either. This is discontinued so kinda harder to find. Presentation is basic like the typical other bottles in the line. I paid $41 before taxes. I think its semi-worth it. I would not pay the inflated discontinuation prices. If you're looking for an Amber bomb, this may not satisfy the itch. I was thinking that with the name that the Amber would be way more amped up, like Ombre Nomade, Kalan or F'n Fabulous, but its not. It's more of a supporting note. The Sage is more apparent and the strange menthol note is very noticeable. The Amber amps up slightly on the far dry down when it starts to fade, but the menthol note sticks around. Is it bad? No, it's actually very pleasant. Is it good? Meh, i'd give it a 7 out of 10. If performance was better, i would bump it to an 8.5, but it's not, so here we are. IMO, Ginger Fever is a superior scent, followed by Wild Mint and this would be 3rd, beating out Naughty Leather. I don't own Hot Pepper cause I already have Spicebomb but may pick it up to finish the line.

This is such a cozy, sweet warm amber it's hard to describe. It's nostalgic for me in a way I can barely enunciate, but undeniably comfortable and irresistible. The sage sort of meets the amber around both sides of you to give you a warm hot-chocolaty hug. I feel like there are unlisted notes, like a mild pepper (pimiento?) in the opening, and a purple-floral tucked away for the drydown. The three listed notes are the most prominent but there have to be some more playing bit parts.

This was a recent blind buy based on the notes and reviews. Overall, I have been impressed with the Azzaro Pour Homme line and this is no exception. I get a warm, cozy amber that is slightly sweet and slightly spicy with a chocolate background. A very good combination to my nose. I get good projection and longevity on my skin. I see this more of a trendy casual or even date night scent. If you enjoy amber you should try a sample of this one.

First of all, IMO, this does not smell like Halston Man Anmber...just sayin. This is a mainstream type scent that smells great. It is not overly complex. This is a amber freshie-ish vibe. It has sweetness...and underlying aromatic spicey vibe. It is easy to wear and easy to like. Way underneath..I actually get a booziness...???...Liking this so far !! Sillage/projection/longevity, I would put in the "moderate" category.

Ditch those high-priced amber niche money pits and go get you some of this for $40. It's richly amber, some of the best amber I've smelled. This one is extremely underrated.

This smells near identical to CK One Shock. To me, that's not a good thing, because you can get a much larger bottle of CK One Shock for a lot less than Amber Fever.

Completely insane how this dries down to grand soir. I didn't expect it to veer this way from the opening. This is a gem at this price point!
