Chrome Sport

To me, this is the smell of a freshly laundered white citrus tee on a bright spring afternoon. Without getting too much into the notes, it's basically a perfect cross between Versace's Man Eau Fraiche (2006) and Dior Homme Cologne (2013) - except that it came out in 2010. Compared to MEF, Chrome Sport simply tones down the sweet amber, adds a nice aromatic grass accord, and a smooth laundry-fresh musk. I actually prefer the smell myself since it's slightly more complex, and the grapefruit-bergamot combo is more reminiscent of DHC imo. Performance is on par - 4-5 hours on skin, but I spray my clothes with this one anyway - outside of the shoulders is money in the summer. In terms of the general formula though, it's actually an amusing timeline. Cresp gets the ball rolling with Light Blue for women in 2001, MEF in 2006, and Blue Seduction in 2007. After that comes Chrome Sport by Almairac in 2010. Demachy counters with DHC in 2013, only to have Cresp back on his heels in 2016 with Mercedes Benz Colonge. Polge also decides to have a go that year with Allure Homme Sport Cologne. Finally, Almairac is back in the game with Jimmy Choo Man Ice a year later in 2017, with the Zara machine sprinkling a few here and there with From Paris to New York and Blue Hole. So yeah, it's obviously a popular style of scent that will likely continue to be replicated for years to come. But if I were to pick ONLY ONE out of the extensive list above (and I've worn them all) I'd either go with Chrome Sport or Benz Cologne. AHSC and Choo Man Ice would be my next choices, followed by DHC, MEF, the Zaras and BS dead last. Basically, if you're looking for a simple, inexpensive but well balanced citrus-amber-musk, this is an easy pick. Almairac knew what he was doing. The dude did Gucci PH after all. Best of the Chrome line, next to Aqua. Scent - 8.5/10 Longevity - 6/10 Projection - 5.5/10 Overall - 7.5/10

Because of my growing collection a lot of times Ill buy a lot of different frags and not give them the necessary time to understand them. Chrome Sport was 1 of those I overlooked. It starts out opening fruity,lemony and smells like cleaner mixed with a bowl of fruit loops(Thats honestly what it smells like to me,lol) But after the opening dies out and it blends with your skin the lemon dies out and the ginger and green notes kick in making this a citus/floral/green type of fragrance. To my nose it smells like a less sharp, more fruity version of Issey Miyake. The drydown is pretty similar to heart minus the ginger and add musk. To me I believe I overlooked this fragrance in the beginning because when I first bought this fragrance I was the type of guy that only bought fragrances that had a good opening and although this opening is ok this fragrance really shines in the heart and base when those green notes come out. Performance is actually really good. I get 5-8 hours on this with it projecting above average for the first 3 hours Id rate this a solid 8 out of 10 ! Its a great out of the shower scent thats great for work,gym or just casual everyday use. SIDENOTE: This actually works really well as a gym scent as when it blends with body heat it smells even better and the more I wear this the more I like it. Also the comparisons are right when people say its a mix between Versace eau fraice and Issey Miyake --------- After wearing this more I have to say this gets A LOT of compliments !!! Also 2 people have said that it's a very pleasant and not too heavy cologne that's also very attractive. And I have to agree. It's a cologne that's will get you noticed without being overbearing

Starts off with a very fresh blend of citron, bergamot, grapefruit, and bitter orange. To my nose I detect mostly grapefruit with hints of bergamot, citron, and bitter orange - and it's really a nicely done grapefruit. The opening is kind of like the grapefruit soda drink "Fresca" and has a fizzy effervescence to it. As it dries down I get the aquatic notes as well as lots of ginger, and a fresh cut grass accord. Upon drydown it really smells like wet grass during the rain, similar to CK Truth. The citrus also persists throughout the fragrance's duration but in the background. I really like it. The ginger also gives it a Bleu de Chanel type feel. This is a very interesting and unique ultra-fresh type fragrance. It's hard to categorize this as a purely citrus fragrance, or an aquatic one, or a green one - since it has elements of all three, with its grapefruit opening (that somewhat persists into the drydown), its watery notes, as well as its green grass note. But if I had to choose one, I would say it has the feel of a fresh aquatic cologne with a bit of an ozonic character. In fact the word "fresh" describes it; this is one of the freshest colognes ever. This fragrance is not sweet at all; it's ozonic and sort of salty/bitter in a good way. Sillage is moderate but leaning strong for a fresh fragrance and longevity is also quite good at over 8 hours. Man does this cologne last! Overall it's one of the more unique aquatic/citrus/fresh colognes, and I like it a lot for casual use. I could see it being used for the gym as well, but I'd rather use something cheap for that like Adidas Ice Dive. 5/5

Despite the recent explosion of 'sport' fragrances, CS really is something very nice, and I can see myself buying it before the end of the year... This begins with an extremely bright citrus blend of grapefruit and bergamot (bittersweet), bigarade(bitter orange) and amalfi lemon (smooth and cool). This is very intense and more on the dry, fresh end of the citrus spectrum than sweet and juicy (orange, cumquat, tangerine...). The heart is very green-grass, ginger's freshness and an airy(oxygen)watery accord. Very nice and light, but clean and slightly spicey. The finish is a slight variation on the SAP accord (sandal-amber-musk), and adds cedar's aromatic woodiness to amber's resiny sweetness and cool, white musk. This is a soapy, fresh scent with just enough sweetness to stand out, and enough resiny woods to not fade away too quickly, on the whole a very solid offering from Azzaro Paris. Sillage: decent Longevity: above average Overall: 3.75/5 Sport this, sport that...it is easy to get fed up with all the sporty fragrances out today...but do not be too quick to write this one off. It is very nice and if you like clean,citrus scents that last and either of the Chromes, you will most likely love this one. It is not as sweet as the original and less aquatic than Legend...

Outside of the obvious marketing angle, this doesn't belong in a "Chrome" category. Its not super complex and as such can come off a bit linear for some users. That acknowledged, it is one of my favorite go-to warm/hot weather frags. I live in a very warm to hot climate that allows (read: demands) wearing of lighter fragrances for 9 months out of the year. Because of this I have to tread carefully when choosing the scent of the day/occasion. Those of you in hot climates know of where I speak. To my nose it opens with a bright lemon lime accord that settles down within 30 minutes. Bitter orange, lemon, light musk, and some amber notes then make an appearance. In its dry down Its a ginger, lemon, cedar affair. This is when this EDT really shines. Although Azzaro lists aquatic notes in the pyramid, I don't get even a touch of them. Perhaps due to body chemistry or possibly climate, Chrome Sport has very good longevity for me. 7-10 hours is the norm. Sillage is moderate at 3 to 4 feet. Yes, it may be safe. Yes, it may be a little linear for some. But, it's also quite lovely in its own way. The combination of lemon, ginger, and cedar is something special. When you add in that the cost is within reach of the common man, Chrome Sport is a very easy recommend.

When I received an e-mail from this site notifying me of its release earlier this year I got a feeling of deja-vu and did some checking...in 2001 Azzaro released Chrome Apres-sport (after sport) which was a more citrusy interpretation of the original with vitamin C, B5 and aloe extract to soften and moisturize skin and was more scented tonic than perfume. It had a skincare line from Clarins also.Since I missed the earlier flanker I will definitely be checking this out. The original CAS was in the same bottle as original Chrome but it was stretched since it was only available in a 200 (6.7 oz) size. The new flacon is more modern and streamlined.In CS It seems to me they accented the citruses, removed the flowers and kept the woods and exotic ingredients to a minimum while adding amber and oxygen, maybe in an attempt to make it fresher and more oceanic...

Azzaro Chrome Sport might be my next go to scent for hot summer days. It is not terrible complex or sophisticated (like Voyage Hermes EDP or Guerlain Homme L Eau) but it is fresh, long lasting, linear, masculine, modern and easy to wear. Scent itself is bit green, sharp (but not too sharp like Platinum Egoiste for example) and fresh (but its sour grapefruit/ginger fresh not fruity sweet fresh like Versace Man Eau Fraiche which I find similiar in style but definitely more feminine). One huge+ for me, is that Azzaro Chrome Sport stays linear (and that means also fresh) for whole lifetime. IMO anyone from high school till late 40s can wear it easy, especially in casual or sports wear. Price tag is great (you can get 100ml for less than 20 euros online) I give it 7,5/10 10 Masterpiece 9 Impressive 8 Excellent 7 Very good 6 Above average 5 Average

This is by far the best of the "original" Chrome flankers (Legend, United, Intense, and all the useless Summer/Limited Editions). It's simple in its design: a fairly basic soft citrus with a musky drydown. If I didn't know any better, I'd say Alberto Morillas created it. Chrome Sport knows its role and plays it to perfection. This is one of the freshest, cleanest fragrances you can possibly own. It's refreshing, invigorating, and has that "cooling" effect so many users seem to be searching for come summertime. It's not a strong performer, but c'mon, how many fragrances in this genre are? You can overspray like crazy, too, because of how pleasant (and cheap!) it is. Oh, bonus points for the bottle. Beautiful light blue frosting. It looks much better in person than in stock photos. Two thumbs up.

Best of all the Chrome's. Masculine and clean, love it. Someone said A touch of Vetiver, I agree. This one get's complements, had two on one hour, females are drawn to this stuff. A summer scent, but I will where it whenever. Has A smell and quality of A much more expensive fragrance. Reminds me A little of Guerlain's Imperial, but Chrome Sport does not fade out as quickly. Great value for the money, bought mine today at TJ Maxx for $29 bucks, next door it was selling for more than double at Ultra. I think I will test Chrome Summer next, I really like the House of AZZARO. Everything they put out is quality and A real bargain for the price. Head to head VS Versace Fraiche, No contest Chrome Sport knocks it out cold. 10/10 Perfect, enough said.

I will not say anything bad about this cologne. It was made especially for the daytime on an early spring or summer day. Let's start with a hit of a citrus waterfall plunging into a field of fresh green grass. Can you smell the freshness? After wearing it for about 3-4 hours, the cologne dries down to a lingering woody and amber scent with a hint of "chrome" and ginger (but that's just me, it might be different for you). Although this cologne did not make it on my Top 10 list, it has what it takes to get me through the day. I will always own a bottle of Azzaro Chrome Sport. Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 4.5/10

This is a ginger dominated fragrance. Initial spray is a citrus blast. Lemon is all around but the ginger is just close behind which can make some nose tingle if oversprayed. After several minutes, the ginger will take centerstage and define the scent. Although the citruses are still noticeable. At this stage, this becomes linear until it fades away. If not oversprayed, this is quite nice and inoffensive and is suitable in office environments. For sport use, this can last as long as your workout or run. Don't expect more. Having said that, you're lucky if you could get 4-5 hours from this.

I like it better than the original chrome. I was looking for something citrusy and light for the summer, and I found it. I actually think it should have been called chrome summer and not chrome sport. It doesnt have that sport feel that many other sport fragrances have. It's just a very light, citrusy, good scent much like versace fraiche and half the price. I will wear alot of this stuff this summer. One thing I am not a big fan of is the longevity of it. On my skin, I only get about 2 hours until it's gone, but on my clothes I get about 5 hours.

Great scent from Azzaro. It's my favorite from this house, and my signature scent for the Summer and Spring. Because of it's price tag, it can easily be affordable for any age group. The citrus blast is what makes it great and very sporty. I can only complain about the longevity, otherwise it would be given 5 stars. Despite this not being original, it's still a great fragrance (4-5 sprays max) Age group: 14+ Projection: 4 stars Longevity: 3.75 stars Versatility: 4 stars Smell: 5 stars Overall: 4.5 stars

In my opinion this might be the best gym and sport fragrance period. This just smells so good and it's soft and smooth. It's like a lighter and cuter version of the original Chrome. This is for sure a woman pleaser and those that have tried this know what I mean. I think Chrome Sport goes great with lighter clothes like a white t-shirt and light blue jeans. This is perfect for the gym and warm sunny days. I get 7-8 hours easy for longevity which is great for this type of fragrance. I give this a 9.4/10

love versace man eau fraiche, d&g light blue pour femme,dior homme cologne, mont blanc starwalker,black xs, issey miyake sport and summer flankers? Get this instead....Fantastic cheapie...for 27 dollars on a 100ml bottle...this will serve you awesome through out whole summer heat...workhorse...dont over spray thinking its light lemon and stuff....this gets very overpowering if you got 6/7 sprays.... great longevity, fresh clean, crisp...easy love 8.5/10

Clean and familiar, like a well-known dry detergent available at your nearest supermarket. That may not sound good, but I get complimented on this one a lot. Not because it is an interesting or sexy scent but because it just smells clean. Who doesn't like freshly cleaned laundry? Overall, it is a safe freshie for the summer, despite how ordinary and clean the fragrance is. 7/10

It has very cheap lemon cleaner opening, that lasts about 10 minutes but then it smells beautiful, majestic, fresh, aquatic, spicy, citrusy... but after two hours not only that you cant smell it but its completely gone from this plane of existence. Because of the opening you cant even respray cos you will smell for 10-15 mins like you splashed toilet cleaner on yourself.

Amazing scent, more refined and well blended than D&G Light Blue and Versace Eau Fraiche. However, 4 sprays on me is completely gone within 30 minutes. The original Chrome lasts about 5 hours on me with 2 sprays. Incredibly disappointed in the longevity and sillage of Chrome Sport, but the smell is great. I guess I will just have to reapply every 30 minutes.

It is one of my favorite citrus smells. I like it way more than the original Chrome. If you are a fan of the original Chrome you may not like this. When you apply this in hot summer days,it feels like you are applying ice on your skin. Super refreshing scent. I like the musky dry down a lot. Overall it s the cheaper version of Versace Eau Fraiche.

This is my favorite SPORT fragrance, specially, since you get a high end scent for a middle of the pack price. Sounds good to me!. Very similar to Dior Homme Sport. This one smells exactly like the leaf of a lemon tree at the top, then it changes to more woody/ginger. Very nice projection and long lasting for a "sport" fragrance.

I gave as a present this perfume to my boyfriend 2 months ago, since that time we both enjoy these amazing fresh exciting sexual fragrance ! I'm ecstatic! I love it! Despite the fact that the original "Chrome" was always my favorite, this new fragrance does not yield to him on the freshness and to unique alluring fragrance!

This is the best freshness scent i've ever tried. To bad the longevity is kinda poor but damn, the mother of freshness right here. I use it mostly for netflix n chill to get those girls a bit shaky on their legs, or spray my training clothes to give myself those fresh kind of vibes to the people around me.

No brainer scent for the summer. Citrusy, aquatic with a woody undertone. Shares some similarity with the original Azzaro Chrome but with more citruses. I would say this is a mix between "Azzaro Chrome" and "Versace eau fraiche". Great summer cheapy with a very good longevity for a summer freshie.

This is a staple! I love it everytime i smell it. It is in the same vein as: Dior Cologne Jimmy Choo Ice Mercedes Benz Cologne I have owned all of the above. I sold all of the above and always keep Azzaro Chrome Sport instead. $27 and last longer than all stated fragrances above! I love it

First of all, when I do run out I will get a new bottle. This gets me calm and energized at the same time. It may be basic, but I still put this ahead of many more known fragrances, especially in the fresh category. Performance is ok, good even if you consider its category.

Identical to The Body Shop White Mush Sport Pour Homme . The exact smell ; yet Azzaro lasts a bit longer . Clean and super fresh . Don't buy this if u want a replacement for versace fresh , tgere is nothing in the market that can replace versace fresh . Not yet .

This stuff is amazing and the longevity is one of the best for a sport flanker! I get a similarity to Mont Blanc Starwalker quite a bit especially with the first sniff. You will get noticed in positive ways while wearing this! This is a damn good juice!

Good casual ,sport fragrance Same as Versace Eau Fraiche, but...... without a hint-spicy of " issey miyake l'eau d'issey" Crispy ,icy freshness and very good sillage ! The longevity is average - good for this type fragrance

Freshness done right, for the right price! Some people complain about performance but on me this thing rocks for hours (7+). This might be the most overlooked Azzaro fragrance. Ageless and timeless for dirt cheap.

One of my best blind buys. An affordable cross between dior homme sport and versace eau fraiche with brighter opening and alot more citruses up top. Has a Refined Floral musky dry down and excellent longevity.

I find this a little better than original chrome. For a summer fragrance, stays for a long time on my skin. (8 - 10 hours). Projection is moderate though. Overall rating: 8.5/10 Definitely a safe buy.

Extremely similar to artisan pure to my nose.. surprisingly projects off skin really well, and super surprisingly smells natural, I was expecting a weak synthetic citrus mess..

I've been wearing this more and more and the longevity is better than I thought. 4-6 hours on my skin. Good, inexpensive alternative to light blue or versace man au fraiche.

I can definitely get that Versace man Eau fraiche mixed with Dior homme sport.. nice clean casual scent. Will be reaching for this alot in warm weather. Its a sleeper

Just blind bought this just now at TJ Maxx 3.4oz for $15.00 to me this smells like Versace Man and David BeckHam Instinct had a baby together.. Very good smell

One of the best summertime frags out there. It's citrusy, oceanic, salty and grassy. It's like a more masculine version of Baby Tous by Tous.

I've never owned or smelled the original Azzaro Chrome. But, I thought it was time to add a Chrome fragrance to my collection. After reading many reviews and doing price comparisons -- I chose Azzaro Chrome Sport. Out of all the flankers; it was both the cheapest (I picked this up for $25) and was one of the highest rated amongst the flankers. Azzaro Chrome Sport is very minimalist in terms of both presentation and ingredients. All of the other Chrome bottles are the same size/shape as the original, the only differences being frosted glass and varying glass colors (Cyan for Aqua. Dark blue for Extreme, and opaque white for Pure). Chrome Sport comes in a taller, narrower bottle. The glass is colorless frosted, fluid is a light blue, and unlike the other Chrome bottles; it has an integrated atomizer -- which, i guess, is supposed to fit the whole "sport" motif in comparison to the other Chrome bottles. I've heard people compare Chrome Sport to Versace Man Eau Fraiche. I don't own Man Eau Fraiche, nor have I smelled it. But, this reminded me of another fragrance I know really well... First impressions: This reminded me a lot of CK One. To me, this is what a more masculine version of CK One would smell like -- by taking all the floral notes out of it. The majority of the projection of Chrome Sport comes from its citrus opening that is pleasant and tarty without coming off too sweet or sour. The ginger adds a very subtle, but very nice warm spiciness, in addition to the mild water and grass notes. Another thing; I've heard people describe the signature note in the Chrome line (at least the original Chrome) is a subtle, cool, metallic-like scent. And sure enough, here it is. Some people find it strange. The smell of clean cool metal combined with the fresh and citrus notes is an unlikely combination. I actually like it. The Bad? Longevity. It really is piss-poor on me. I can barely get 3 hours out of this scent; maybe...maybe another 1 hour on my clothes -- so, at best it's a 3-4hr scent. At best. What I would use this for? This would be a good gym scent. It'll last a good workout session or jog/run, but beyond that, it basically becomes a skin scent after 1-2 hours. You can also use this in the office -- you could probably dip yourself in a vat of Chrome Sport and still not offend people. This would also be okay for quick errands on the weekends. This is tough; I'm a sucker for fresh scents, and I really do find this one lovely. But, I can't give this anymore than a 2.75/5 rating because of the poor longevity. Would I recommend this? Hesitantly, no. Yes, it's cheap. And, the scent itself is very good. But, there's no lifespan to this at all; it's there, and then gone -- like a ghost. I'll eventually review the original Chrome -- I've heard the longevity on it is somewhat better.

A blind purchase based on reviews, and on the fact that the nose who created Chrome Sport is the same genius who created Zino Davidoff, Minotaure, Joop Homme, etc. It's a very nice scent, buy I get terrible performance. I only get projection for the first 20 minutes or so. After that, it sits close to skin and it disappears after two hours. If you sweat a lot, then you get better projection. Maybe that's why this is a sport fragrance? It starts incredibly citrusy, but then it becomes more aquatic and grassy. I don't think anyone has mentionned this, but I believe the heart and drydown has some similarities with Starwalker, also created by monsieur Almairac; in fact, they share five notes. I don't know Versace eau fraiche, but I do own D&G Light Blue and l'Eau d'Issey. I have smelled these three scents side by side, and I think Chrome Sport is more similar to Issey than D&G. It's like a mix of l'eau d'Issey (top notes) and Starwalker (heart). It also reminds me of a fragrance I sampled years ago: Aramis Life. I wouldn't buy this again, because of its poor perfomance.

SUMMER IN A BOTTLE! This is a pretty awesome cologne that smells similar to VMEF minus the star fruit note. I use to own VMEF about 4 years ago but was interested in saving some money this time around. Chrome sport opens with a blast of lemon, grapefruit and ginger and maintains that for quite some time, it eventually dries down to smelling quite masculine thanks to the musk and cedar note which become prominent. This is the perfect fresh and uplifting masculine citrus cologne which also gives off an aquatic vibe. I can see this working well on a hot summers day while enjoying an iced cold beverage and watching the waves crash against a sandy beach. This is quite the people pleaser and it projects great. All you need is about 4 sprays or so and this will last 6-8 hours easily. Awesome flanker which is superior in many ways when compared to the original. Great job Azzaro!
