Solarissimo Levanzo

Solarissimo Levanzo de Azzaro is an aromatic, fresh and woody fragrance. Its opening is citrus and spicy, very Mediterranean style, where basil is the star. Within a few minutes some fougere influence of the classic Azzaro Pour Homme is recognizable, because you can smell an accord of lavender, geranium, cedar and coumarin, which is present in that fragrance. The aroma in general is quite pleasant, it is woody with aromatic, and green fresh spices. This fragrance is designed to be used in warm weather, to enjoy outdoors, on the beach or any type of casual daytime activity. Its longevity is not the best, but it lasts between 5 and 6 hours, besides the sillage is also short, almost at skin level either. However it has advantages too, for example in addition to its pleasant aroma, is its low price.

Solarissimo Levanzo is a posh vacation. Not a wild, tacky, bling bling Ibiza or Cancun thing. No. This is summer on a quiet villa far away from tourists and celebrities somewhere in Southern Europe. Levanzo opens with a sweet/tart combination of passionfruit and lemon but it doesn't turn cloying or feminine because of the bitter and dry tea note. It's spectacular. But as all the other reviewers noted, it turns into a skin scent too quickly. And even though that's a disappointment, I sort of get the idea of this fragrance where it should be enjoyed by the wearer, not looking for attention or compliments because it's there where true confidence resides and not on obnoxious, heavy and ultra sweet fragrances. The drydown is clean and slightly powdery. If you find it, get it.

Unlike Assam of India by Parfums Berdoues, which leans more on the citrus side and causes a sour notes most of the time, this is the most balanced lemon tea scent I've ever known. It works so well in warm weather and constantly remind me of sunny days in Sicily. Contrary to a few comments about the performance of this scent, Levanzo lasts quite long with a good but not overpower projection. In Texas heat of 90F-100F, with only 2 sprays on lower chest, it lasts more than 9hr on me. Last thing is it is a unisex lean a bit on masculine side to me.

This sauce is boss. Opens sweet & lemony, transitions into an aromatic tea & cardamom. Lemon stays thru the mid then the whole thing turns to a patchouli/cedar finish. Casual, confident, competent. Performance issues may be largely personal, as this does well on my skin. 2 sprays each collarbone & I project citrus green aroma for 2-3hours & the spicy/sweet base notes stay on my skin 3-4 more. This one holds up better than most other cheap freshies for me & that makes it a great value. Scent 9/10 Performance 7/10 Value 8/10

This is a great fresh everyday fragrance and a total bargain at $AUD30 It reminds me of Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir - the distinct cardomon note - and also the fresh green garden herb notes of CK Truth. The lemon opening is very appealing and it settles into a gentle mint/lemon/sweet spice accord The softness and subtlety of this is a plus for me as a fragrance for everyday wear. It's a safe blind buy (and a better bet than the rather generic blue marettimo variant) Given the low price I rate this 9/10

Really quite good. I was not expecting the way it smells. Certainly, a spring and summer frag. Very smooth with the passion fruit, tea and basil. Very natural smelling and it really hooks you in the nose. Love the way it smells. I have to agree with many others that its one flaw may be the longevity. 5-6 hours, which isn't awful, and some prefer that if they want to be able to change fragrance for another event or time in the day. As just for the scent, I give it an A+. Stunningly good.

Solarissimo Levanzo smells like Gucci Pour Homme II cousin. It has similar nice tea note with some fruity and spicy undertones. Performance is also similar. This tropical fruitiness reminds me also of Polo Black from RL (melon smells like passion fruit). Overall, considering cheap price tag, it's a very nice scent. Sadly its discontinued but I managed to grab few back up bottles in Rossmann on sale for 10 euros each bottle. All in all I don't think this one will be missed... 8/10

This is a really nice aromatic. Performance is moderate (I get about 4-5 hours) without overspraying, but overspraying shouldn’t offend anyone. The passion fruit provides the sweetness, while the peppermint and mid notes are fresh spicy and aromatic. The woody peppermint tea dry down is also pleasant. Suggested deodorant match : Lynx Blue Lavender or Black Night.

This is a great freshie. Classic Italian charm yet modern. Very fresh and green opening with some sweetness and florals behind it. Settles more green and a bit drier but still a lingering sweetness. Longevity is moderate but I may be going nose-blind to it as I use it a lot. It’s an underrated little gem.

i work outside on a golf course and in the heat , this one is amazing . it not a strong fragrance but it last a good 3 to 4 hours with a light projection ( but there is a projection). i think people are a little bit hard with this one when it come to time and projection.

This isn't nearly as bad as I originally described it. It is actually quite pleasant. I used to be not able to smell it, not quite sure why. Maybe because this is one of those so naturally smelling fragrances. I enjoy it now.

The opening brings a lot of alcohol, the accords come up as soon as the alcohol evaporates. Azzaro Solarissimo opens very softly, clean. The opening notes that can be perceived immediately are lemon, mint, tea, and a touch of lavender. The scent is very faint. As the fragrance dries down it becomes sweeter; the lemon note significantly dissipates, the mint remains and the very faint passionfruit note seems to gain some strength powdered by the tonka bean. Once Azzaro Solarissimo reaches its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a very faint, citrus, and mint fragrance with very soft fruity, spicy, and woody accords. The fragrance feels airy, clean, faint, fresh, common, light, masculine, versatile, diurnal, and pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020 WOW RATING: 8/10. Opening is good. This is a pleasant summer freshy. 10 minutes after the initial spray, the lemon starts to dissipate and the basil and lavender take over... still very pleasant. After about 20 minutes, it reminded me of lavender tea... fresh, but mild. Very little projection with this one (good for the office), for a day out you'll need to spray more. After about 1 hour, the fragrance settles into something very pleasant, it remains fresh and summery and it does have a hint of the original Azzaro. Overall, a very good, inoffensive, and inexpensive scent. I will probably buy this one again.

This is exactly why you can't make a decision about a fragrance by smelling it in the department store. I got a sample of this and did not like it at all when spraying it on a card. But I eventually tried wearing it one evening for grins and giggles. I love it!! It is on my Christmas List!

Very much so reminds me of my early 2000s Burberry Men Burberry. The Azzarro is a bit lighter and seems to develop woodier rather than stay as sweet, but I could easily mistake them for each other. Very nice scent.

Sweet vetiver + woods. Unusual but charming. There's something very soothing, very relaxing about this fragrance. Took a chance buying an unknown Azzaro flanker and it paid off.

I bought this last year after complimenting a guy who used this stuff, and it was a few hours after he sprayed, so longevity is not that bad, and the scent is gorgeous.

Quite juicy on it, must have been a very challenging fragance to create. It starts off as fruity floral yet commands to be aromatic green. Job well done there.

This is a beautiful, really beautiful and very very pleasant fresh summer scent! Like from the first snif! BUT... so so weak. Ridiculously weak.

I tried it few days ago at Dubai Duty Free. Smells really nice but very weak.

I tested Azzaro Solarissimo today. The logevity and sillage are terrible. The scent got very close to my skin within 3 minutes after spraying it on my wrist and was barely detectable in an hour. Although Azzaro Solarissimo smells green, the fragrance itself is less fresh than Irish Spring soaps. Taking a shower may get better freshness and is less expensive than this Solarissimo. [Edit] I was curious about the smell of coumarin, so I looked it up. Coumarin is prohibited to use in food industry by the FDA because it is toxic to the liver and may cause cancer. I believe the coumarin concentration in Solarissimo EdT is too low to cause harms, but still! I will pass on this one!

I love the scent but literally get 20-30 mins from it and then it is completely gone. Worst performing cologne in my collection but one of the best warm weather scents! I am very frustrated with this one.

I really love Azzaro fragrances, so I tried out 'Solarissimo' due to the name and really cool bottle design and notes listed. The opening is gorgeous, a perfect warm weather blend of woody citrus notes with a minty sweetness unlike anything else I've smelled. The projection initially is moderate, which lasts for about 15 minutes and then its basically a very inoffensive skin scent of woods similar to Molecule 01, but not as dark or synthetic smelling. Longevity, even with a dozen sprays (neck, forearms, chest, and shoulders) is about two or three hours, but sillage and projection is very low, very soft, and no one will smell this as there is no scent trail. This becomes a skin scent within minutes and stays there for the life of the scent. Unless someone buries their nose in your neck, they won't smell anything. I can't see any use for this except in the gym, where you don't want to offend anyone, or really, on an airplane, where a skin scent would be ideal so you don't choke people out. But for the price, even, then, there are better options that last longer and projection far better than this. Not recommended, unless you can find this really cheap and simply NEED a summer skin scent fragrance for some reason.

I tested this scend not knowing it was a shared perfume, for men and women. I thought it was for women, found it in that section. Not sure what to think about it. Very sharp, very citrusy, very green, harsh, a bit woody, quite masculine. Reminded me of the scent of an after shave. This can work well in hot, humid weather, when all we want is something like that, refreshing, cool. However I found it a bit too sharp at the first test. Still, a daring combination nowadays, in the middle of the sweet, spicy, flowery tornado that we live in. If someone likes citruses, woody, sharp scents, it can be a good choice, especially in the summer.

Very beautiful fragrance from Azzaro. Fresh, luminous, invigorating yet calming and elegant. A very good option for summer and warmer days with great scent and performance. Also very flexible with outfits and wearing scenarios. Love the basil and lemon combo, reminds me of Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin, also the mint inside is very well done and the tea note blends so beautiful with the lavander and ginger. The base is woody yet airy just like a mediterranean breeze in the morning while drinking your coffee and watching the sun rising on a island. A big surprise and i really enjoy wearing this.

I'm so impressed by it, years ago I had a fragrance from Next, Homme intense, which I loved, but didn't last, this is similar, but much better. Super fresh, uplifting and invigorating, the opening is a clean lemon, it's not sharp or sweet, it's excellent, the best part for me though is the middle part, the tea and herb notes are terrific. Lasted very well on my skin, I recommend it highly.

Old ladies snap their necks when they walk by me at the grocery. There is some sillage and projection with this. I haven't smelled brut aftershave since I was a boy but it kind of evokes that memory. Has character and does its thing well for a few hours but probably lasts for 6 hours. I think men age 30 and up will have fun with this for the price just buy it.

Not sure what to think about this one. It seems and smells like it want to be a summer scent but it has this heaviness to it that makes it more wearable for cooler night. First impression is it’s like a mixture of Issey Miyake and some variation of JPG Le Male. Anyhow, I can’t really say much more than this after only 2 days of use.

Not as much of a pure freshie as I was expecting it to be. Lemon and herbs are the focus, but after the first few minutes it's also got a minty quality and light sweetness that keeps bringing Eros to mind. Definitely on the weak side, but not a bad blind buy considering it can be found for under $25 sometimes.

Absolutely beautiful fragrance. It works amazing wonders on my skin. The tea note is amazing and has an almost sour balacing effect. I was very surprised by the longevity and above average scent trail this leaves. I get complimented more than I would expect. This is a must have warm weather frag.

Just what Hdubais wrote: sprayed 3x on my arm, it has a pleasant strong start for 5 minutes? After 15 mins its BAM! GONE! I can barely smell with my nose pressed to my skin. :( What a shame, I really like this basil-mint-citrusy-goodness.

They should have called it "Gone in 60 Seconds". That's literally how long I can smell it. Disappointing because the top notes are so promising. One of the weakest fragrances I've purchased in long time :(

Very mediocre at the most, not green, spicy or solar, but cloying bugspray. Not really really bad for autumn or winter, but that's about it. Big disappointment. Bottle is nice, though!

I like it very much. Few years ago I tested it and finally bought it today. Very fresh, very natural, Smells like nature, bottle is very nice green and bottle cap is made from wood.

@foreignshores, thats exactly my thought about this one. it should be on the Guinness for the shortest fragrance longevity.
