Poppy

10.19.23~ Fragrantica has been my go to when I want to know notes. Usually while blind shopping on BBW. However finally registered to leave this review bc never in a million years would anything poppy, or a bottle with orange flowers attract my attention and this deserves attention. Last time I fell this hard for a scent it was Oscar's Alibi perfume not the EDT. Two completely different scents. Badgley Mishka's Poppy is delicious. Gourmand. I want to bury my face in myself. It's warm & comforting yet sexy & sensual, which is my brand. Love woody orientals with summer florals like jasmine not flowery roses. Amber bases. Bergamot. However my acidic chemistry kills most weaker oil bases. Obsession on me is still sexy but unidentifiable. Poppy holds to me for hours. On clothes? Yes please. Reviews help me the most to know what others wear who like something I'm thinking about so here goes. BBW was Cashmere Glow for years & it changed. Now Fairytale. Also like Endless Sea for lighter wear. Perfume must haves are Oscar Alibi perfume, Ralph Woman & now Poppy. Body sprays are great for day wear to stay fresh & running around like Frosted Coconut or Sea Island Shore. But when you put on nice clothes, or just need to feel wrapped in a hug, good perfume is all you need. As I'm a hugger who likes being a woman, a warm scent with a lil sumthin sumthin like Poppy is perfect. Did I stumble upon it at Marshalls for 15 bucks? Yes. Would I pony up 50 at Nordstroms? Absolutely.

Creamy musky floral. Almost lactonic. Quite linear. Just a slight hint of "clean" musk without my skin turning it nauseatingly soapy. To me, that is nothing short of miraculous. I found mine in a Marshalls while on vacation recently, sniffed it out of curiosity, had to get the bottle (a whopping $12.00), and found myself wearing it constantly for the rest of my trip. I brought other perfume with me. They got neglected.

This was a great find at TJ Maxx. It's fresh without being too green. The musk gives it a sensuality that I appreciate. Great for hot days.

Very floral, clean and green. Refreshingly soapy or shampoo like. Creamy and powdery from the magnolia and peony. Overall it stays clean & green from the citrus and floral combo. The citrus is not sharp or loud in anyway. It stays subtle. Great for spring and summer, after a shower, and/or before bed. I don’t really pick up much if any spices, amber, or woods at all upon first impression. It remains majorly a clean, powdery floral with very creamy, green undertones. But I’m not mad at it. I’m appreciating it so much. I’ve been looking for more scents like this to expand my olfactory palette. It reminds me a lot of Daisy Eau So Fresh, or MJ Perfect’s dry down. Edit: At first I was debating getting rid of this but then changed my mind. Glad I tested it again and again. It’s so beautiful! My nose understands it better now with time and I’m glad I held onto it. Also... this fragrance is not weak! It has staying power.

running errands in a white, open button-down on a sunday morning; a dog resting in the quiet of the sun in a recently-used laundry room a clean, powdery musk that dries into something comforting and drowsy. a scent i'd spritz on freshly washed linens to elevate the clean feeling; also quite creamy, would be fitting as a post-bath scent. maybe (very much likely) i have a thing against powders, but i don't think it's too overpowering; instead, it's a pretty cloud puff that envelops the florals and amber, though the citrus falls right outside the cloud and is nearly non-existent. i also do really enjoy the scent that lingers when inhaling the air right after stuffing my nose in my wrist. a pretty good, safe blind buy from ross
