Ambré Eau Fraîche

Looking at the reviewer before me and their complaints are valid. I wait past the initial aerosol deodorant opening and this smooths out quite nicely. I think the oak and bergamot notes are what could be off putting. After the harsher notes evaporate, the watermelon is quite apparent and so are the spices, differing significantly from Chic by CH (same family) as there is no cardamom I can smell. It is refreshing and has a great ambery woods dry down reminiscent of the original Ambré. Get past the opening and this is a winner. You could take my Acqua Essenziale by SF, or maybe Dunhill Desire Blue and spice it up to get this. It is quite a bit more interesting. This is also good if you like the others in the Ambré line which I do!

Finally a blue scent that I love and that works well with my skin chemistry (as sadly most summer scents do not) This falls in to the category of most generic,pleasant blue frags but I do have to say that this sticks out !! It opens up with a very fresh,somewhat tropical smell with the apple/watermelon but also some nice spices to give it a nice kick as well as some character!! Once this dries down it starts to get creamier,lose some of the spiciness while still having that freshness from the apple and there’s also a slight laundry fresh vibe going on as well and a little bit of wateriness from the violet !! (This is the best part of this fragrance) The drydown is pretty much the same except the violet and sandalwood take over and at this stage it’s pretty weak Performance on this I wish was better as I do like the scent !! It projects pretty nicely for 2 hours but then quickly dies down to a faint skin scent. This lasted me between 3-5 hours Overall rating -7.75 out of 10 !! Love the depth and smell of this but it’s not a top favorite and I wish the performance was better

Nose Note #219 It's a nice scent, nothing unpleasant about it, and it's not badly done. But I give it 3/5 because of poor performance and a vague profile. Nothing stands out about it. There is an apple, kind of, but it's very watery. Put it this way, if you need something to drouse yourself with in the summer - this will do, because you can spray however many time you like and it won't do much. If you have very little options and you are faced with Ambre Eau Fraiche it will also do

Some times I like to wear a spring/summer scent in the winter. This is one. Looking forward to warmer weather! ...because global warming occurs every year on the northern hemisphere about this time while strangely global cooling occurs in the southern hemisphere at the same time...

I have smelled over 1000 fragrances and this has to amount the worst. It is a cheap watermelon aroma with lots of sugar and some relicts from the original amber. Like jelly watermelon sweets with an off-putting vibe. Needless to say it has nothing masculine to it and I would say its more feminine. I usually am a fan of synthetic notes but this one is just a very big fail

Horrible synthetic mess, cheap sauvage-clone. Nothing blue about it. It’s been a long time since I regretted a blind-buy as much as this one.

Surprised this one is completely forgotten while the original Ambre is on every cheapie whiskey accord recommendation list. My first guess why is the synthetic melon note, which if memory serves, reminds me of CK Reveal. It's pleasant, even if artificial. Ambre Eau Fraiche opens with an apple/watermelon cocktail, creamier and spicier than I was expecting. The spice almost borders on herbal, but is tempered by the sweet woodiness. I actually still get plenty of apple in this fragrance, but it's definitely juicier than its older brother Ambre. The violet comes out a lot later in the drydown. I guess ultimately it doesn't stand out a ton, which may be why it flew under the radar. It's not sweet/fun enough to be a beachy Summer scent (like those mojito or coconut scents), not a zing of invigorating mint or citrus, and it's not a strong enough woody/spicy to project masculine confidence. If this were called Candy Oak or something, it would be a more apt name than Eau Fraiche. That said, I still rather enjoy it at its cheap price and can see it as a 3 season scent, with a preference for nighttime wear

Ambré Eau Fraiche is fairly similar to Ambré, with watermelon replacing most of the apple from the original. The melon is most noticeable at the opening. As it dries down, woody amber and leather take center stage while the melon recedes to the background while still adding a slight extra sweetness. A very beautiful fragrance, however it is almost redundant to own Ambré Eau Fraiche if you already own Ambré.

Fresh tropic summer frag with punch and depth... reminding me of a Abercrombie First Instinct but grown and beefed up. It’s ok, worth a smell but no blind buy.

Interesting notes, wish to try it soon.
