78 Vintage Green

This is the all star of Banana Republic's "Icon" collection. Fragrance reviewers who have tried the collection often list this as one of the best in the line, and for good reason. It is just such a fresh, uplifting, clean fragrance with juicy and fruity nuances. I absolutely love the scent, I love the opening when I first spray it on, I love catching whiffs of it as it dries down. And despite being identified with the oldest year of all the Icon fragrances, to me it doesn't smell old at all (if anything, the one with the newest year, 17 Oud Mosaic, smells the oldest). It smells modern and fresh but does so without resorting to being an aquatic "blue" fragrance. It also smells really natural to me, not artificial or chemical in any way. Out of the Banana Republic fragrances I have, it's at least in the top 3, the other two being 17 Oud Mosaic and Tobacco & Tonka Bean. For me this is going to be a spring an summertime essential, very worthy of being a signature scent. The one caveat is that its performance isn't the greatest. I wouldn't say it has poor performance, but moderate at best. If you spray at the start of your day it will probably have faded by mid day. Edit: This is the kind of scent that comes alive if you're being active, raising your body temperature, working up a sweat. I have a very physical job that involves moving heavy objects, and this is uplifting and energizing and, I think, appealing to people around me. I can apply this at the start of my day and it's going strong well into the day as long as I'm being active. Like all the Banana Republic frags, it's a good value at its regular price, but an absolute steal if you can find it at half price at rack stores. Now I will say this was a bit harder for me to find at rack stores, a bit rarer. I would find Neroli Woods, Linen Vetiver, or 17 Oud Mosaic all the time, but it took several months before I found one of these on the shelf. Still, I did find it there, so I would encourage keeping an eye out for it. One thing to note, do NOT buy this or any other Banana Republic frag from the website So Avant-garde. They often promote these frags with YT reviewers, but they jack the price up on their website to twice the regular retail price! At that price it ceases to be a good value and your money is better spent on nicer frags. If you can't find it at rack stores, order it from online discounters, or just go to an actual Banana Republic outlet store and pick it up there ( my local BR did have Vintage Green in stock, albeit in a different, cheaper bottle than you would find at rack stores). It's worth buying it that way, for sure, just don't waste your money paying double for it.

Warm light streams through the broad leaves and dappled canopy of the forest as you take a quick shelter from a passing shower. The gold and green light that flows from above moves and shifts like the continuous pattern of breath. This was not the sort of shower that soaks the land and leaves the ground a sodden mess; the kind that carves little woodland rivers and makes every step treacherous and slippery. No, this is the sort of shower that clears the dust from the leaves and delivers a quiet hope to a glade that hasn't seen hope for more than a moon. The kind that lets the whole greenwood close its eyes and exhale. A playful and confident smile starting to play just at the corners of its mouth. The quietus of hope. Of relief. Of promise. The scent it brings is bright and green, like cut grass with the mineral tinge of water that was collected from parts unknown and delivered here. Now. To you. A gift from heaven. Is that the scent from high clear mountain water or the effervescent spray from salty sea? Impossible to tell for sure and impossible not to to dream. The rain fresh scent mingles ever so subtly with the soft piquant leaves of the forest fig and the honey-vibrant sweetness from a nearby magnolia; the majestic tree out of sight but betrayed by the breeze. You sit there at the base of the tree surrounded by the hum and life of the wood itself. The cacophonous chorus of the insects and the high trill warbles and tweets of flitting birds in search of lunch and mate. Perhaps not in that order! The scurrying of squirrels and the rustling branches remind you that life should be playful and fearless. Fleeting. Sound and scent weave together like warp and weft into a tapestry that is soft and cloudy, crisp and clear. The light smell of jasmine and native grasses. The sweet scent of sweat and earth. Vintage Green is the memory you didn't know you had forgotten. Mineral. Vegetal. Vital. Zen.

Review - Banana Republic 78 Vintage Green What does it smell like? A blooming bright day of early summers. Why should you buy it? It's a modern day freshie. If you're tired of your Versace Pour Homme's and Dior Homme Cologne's as your summer freshies then this is a modern and unique juice to consider. TOP - Its one of the juiciest top note in a perfume that I've ever smellest. Bergamot and Orange. It's so refreshing and juicy that makes me thirsty. Another thing here is the quality and authenticity of the notes which are as natural as they get. Mid - The top fades quickly. Lasts maximum of 3 minutes at best and then the most prized note of this perfume,Fig comes to play alongside Cedar backed by slight bit of Vetiver, just a touch of it which provides depth. Mid is green,thanks to the beautiful fig note and Tea and it's refreshingly woody. Drydown - Most of the perfumes tell their tale in the heart of the perfumes. Whatever speciality they're packing. This one however creates it's magic at the end. It gets muskier. The jasmine kicks in ever so slightly giving it a little bit of powderyness. Fig by now is sweet and tea maintains the freshness of the composition. It's at this stage that this perfume gets different from your everyday freshie. It gets more sophisticated and more classy making it appropriate for night time wear as well as daytime wear,if you choose to do that. PERFORMANCE - 5-6 Hours on skin (Comes and goes. You think it's gone but after a few moments you move and a wave of sophisticates freshness hits your nose. Good projection for first hour or so. Projects quite well when the body heats up a little. I've received wafts of this after 7-8 hours of applying at times. USAGE - Totally Unisex. The classiness of the drydown makes it possible to wear this it during summer as well as spring,both days and nights, unlike other freshies which you can pull off only during daytime.

----Edit---- So, I've realized that 78 Vintage Green is EXTREMELY easy to go "Nose Blind" to. I'd spray a good amount on my neck and shoulders, then I just couldnt smell it at all after about an hour or even less sometimes. Although I freakin' love, love, LOVE this fragrance, I'd always feel let down by the poor performance so I'd slowed down on wearing it unless I had an arrand to run or something. Well, since I refused to give up on this gorgeous scent, I'd tested it a few times by spraying it only on my hands with about 2 spritzes each and would NOT put my hand up to my nose to smell it (Very hard for me) lol! Anyhow, I'd noticed that the scent just kept projecting and hitting my nose for a pretty good amount of time (4 to 5 hours with soft/medium projection, also it lasts FOR DAYS on clothes. Now, YES! I find it annoying when I can't smell my fragrance as I wear them, so Im now spraying it further away from my face so as to not go as anosmic to it. This is a BEAUTIFUL, unisex fragrance, sorta unique and just so very appealing! Its sorta crazy that this fragrance can be found for only $19.99 at rack stores bc it smells of quality ingredkemts and "expensive" Also, this is NOT a "Vintage or "Classic" dna, it's very modern and that "Fig and Tea" combo is really wonderful and the Magnolia and soft musk make tnis a more "unisex" scent, so If ya come accross 78 Vintage Green and like fresh, clean, green fragrances, do yourself a favor and pick it up! Ya wont be dissapointed 😌. Even if you can't find it for $19.99, it's absolutely worth the $30 to $35 it can ususally be found for at discounters. 8 outta 10 fragrance which would been a 10 with even stronger performance. Green freshness in a bottle! 78 Vintage Green, which sounds like the name Tolkien would have given to a particularly good pipe-weed in the Lord of the Rings, opens with a very uplifting, fresh and green spicy bergamot - I smell vetiver straight away, slightly bitter and slightly peppery. I get some lemon iced tea vibes as the scent progresses; the tea note is light and airy, and maintains the freshness of the opening - actually I find quite amazing how long the bergamot remains detectable throughout the mid and almost into the base notes. I honestly don't get any fruity/creamy fig note but I'm not familiar with the smell of crushed fig leaves, so that might be what it gives the distinct greenness. The floral side, which is clearly there, just add a touch of sweetness that counterbalances the tartness of the bergamot and the bitterness of the vetiver+tea combo. I only get some clean linen type of musk in the very long run, when the uplifting qualities of the fragrance are no longer there, but at that point the scent has already faded from my skin; other than that, this scent is very linear, which is a plus given how good it smells. It projects quite well for 3/4 hours, and last a few more hours before disappearing. If sprayed on clothes, the green side of the scent will stay on for hours more. A total mood enhancer. 78 Vintage Green is an excellent freshie for tropical and sub-tropical weather, where the humidity will keep the skin moist and help projects that delicate, refreshing and soothing tea/bergamot note; I'm not sure it would have the same effect in very dry, hot desert climate. Office safe, incredibly well suited for a walk in hot humid weather, and a steal at discounters' rate. Instant love. My bottle batch is 19171RB, from 2019.

This really is such a beautiful "unisex" green fragrance! Vintage Green 78 just smell like an up-scale, quality, almost niche fragrance. Although this is a decidedly a "green fragrance", the magnolia really stands out and helps make this a more "unisex" fragrance imo. Some folks on here described 78 Vintage Green as "mouth-watering" or "juicey" and I couldnt agree more. It feels quite refined and of high quality to my nose, and you can tell that Banana Republic did NOT skimp on the ingredients. I think this would be perfect to wear at a wedding or any other formal event because it smells "Classy", bright and inoffensive, or casually with a nice t-shirt and jeans, so versatility is certainly there. Now this is no "beast mode" fragrance, but although 78 Vintage Green is quite subtle, it does offer a decent, light sillage, but has poor longevity (about 2-3 hours depending on the amount used) and then gives you a very nice skin-scent, Even Neroli Woods which may be the least projecting scent in this line has decent staying power on skin as after having sprayed a good amount on my neck/shoulders, I could still catch small whiffs of it all day at work, whereas other initially "stronger" smelling fragrances fade into nothingness after 3 - 4 hours. I definately over-spray this fragrance and I can attest to the fact that you can pretty much "go ham" with it and not have to worry about it being too much. I also find this one's sorta easy to go "nose-blind" to which is sorta a bumber bc it's my fave in this line. Banana Republic 78 Vintage Green opens with a bright blend of fresh green and earthy notes supported by noticeable fig and tea. I've been sleeping on this. See it here and there at the rack stores and have had in my cart a few times and put back. I already have Neroli Woods, Tobacco and Tonka Bean, and Metal Rain. All being very good. Vintage Green is the best of the group. Banana Republic really does citrus and white florals well. Smells like a very natural bergamot and mandarin in the opening with the touch of sharp greens and magnolia in the background. Man this is good. In the mid the tea starts to come out a little more and a drop of fig, all well blended. If you told me this was Acqua di Parma, I wouldn't doubt it for a second. I've seen comparisons to Wulong Cha but in my opinion Vintage Green leans more masculine than WC. Vintage Green doesn't smell the same as but does the same thing as Versace Man Eau Fraiche, but VG smells higher quality. Verdict: I've been looking for a citrus fragrance in this style and this hits the spot. To be able to get this for $20 is a huge bonus. It's worth 4x that to me. Scent: 8.75/10 - very nice and uplifting, yet relaxing at the same time. Performance: 6/10 - Vintage Green does something similar to what Versace Man Eau Fraiche does and I get similar performance. 5-6 hours. You can go 5 or 6 sprays with this. It'll be strong invigorating citrus at first, then smooth out.

78 is of great quality, equally pleasing for men and women. Addictive- it feels like a refreshing walk on the mediaterranean coast on a hot day, so beautifully cooling, aromatic and complete. I went through my small 15 ml bottle in 2 weeks which is telling. It suits hot sunny days, and I kept spraying it in every few hours as its not exactly long-lasting. But it projects very clean and crisp with just a right amount of pure light jasmine, and cuts through humid hot air really well. I was curious to compare it side-to-side with Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee, as they give out very similar vibes when worn separately. Still, a few distinct differences: 78 is lighter and not as long-lasting. 78 is cooler, crisper, dryer, less aquatic. 78 is very clearly focused on fig leaf, perhaps also green unripe fig fruit, very streamlined and with a touch of very pretty jasmine and a tea note, whilst UJeM is juicier and has very attractive cypress note that is not present in 78. Whilst UJeM starts off with strong mandarine note, 78 has it lighter and not as sweet. Since overall vibe is quite similar, I don't need both and will stick to Hermes Jardin line. But 78 is wonderful and totally unisex summer scent, very classy. Difficult not to love.

This is one of those smells I can't get enough of but doesn't suit me enough to wear. Its wonderfully blended and really unfolds in a beautiful manner. At first leaning masculine. Opens with soft mandarin and citrus but quickly get taken over by fresh super green scent of fresh cut flower stocks. The notes are very authentic and niche quality. It now starts to lean feminine. From there we go to a juicy fig, florals that are incredible with a touch of fresh tea leaves all while a vetiver cloud surrounds and dries with a light musk in the dry down. I want so bad for this to have more wood and musk to make it wearable for a middle aged male like myself. It reminds me of a make out session when I was younger and I end up with Happy for women all over me the rest of the night. It is so close to being masculine enough but never gets around the corner. It’s a wonderful blend of florals, greens and vetiver done with class and excellence. One of the more unique designer fragrances that I have smelled but can't get past the dry down that reminds me of lady’s fragrance. I am going to see if my wife will wear it so I can still smell this often. 9/10 quality fragrance just hard to pull off for a gray bearded 44 year old man

For sure a love at first sniff for me. Like putting your face into a tin bucket of iced tea with some freshly cut celery leaves thrown in. Probably the best scent to wear if you want to feel refreshed. People around you will love it. The only thing in my wardrobe that my wife says she plans on stealing sprays of. Exhudes a modest confidence and an approachability lacking in many modern fragrances. Green, a little sharp, juicy, pretty straightforward, definitely worth a full bottle or blind buy I'd say. If you live in a hot climate you need this one on your rotation. It will cool you down. I wear it on the hottest days when I do yardwork (Quorum on colder days). It's also a great day off fragrance. It has an optimism to it. If you smell this on someone, you can trust them. This is no Club de Nuit intense man. That man will date rape you. Mrs. Meyers cleaning products makes a dish soap called "pear tree" that smells 90% similar to my nose. If you love uplifting daytime scents that smell natural, seek this one out. My wife gives it an 8.5/10. (I think Agua Brava is the only one she's ever rated a 10.)

Absolute Gem. Green, fruity with a little bit of sweetness. The scent profile has been well covered by other reviewers already, so I won't go into detail. A lot of reviewers have mentioned the lacking performance but there is a fix: You have to overspray this one HEAVILY. I spray it 24 times, spraying it on 12 spots, spraying each spot twice, including my clothing. (I know it sounds crazy, but trust me, it's still weaker than for example 2 sprays of Hawas). If you do that, it will last for 6-7 hours with moderate, soft, but noticeable projection. Just don't leave the house for the first 15 minutes so you don't choke anyone. I have received many compliments overspraying Vintage Green. I'm not the type of guy that oversprays fragrances, normally I spray very conservatively. To my nose a lot of fragrances smell worse if you overspray them. Not this one. You have to trust me, just overspray and the performance won't be an issue. You will run through the bottle quickly though, but it's worth it in my opinion.

Oof, the hype is real. This is a fresh, green tea and fig fragrance. The reason it's so dang good is because it maintains the perfect balance between fruity sweetness, green bitterness, and citrusy tartness. Nyteshade mentioned that the tea note is more of a still-on-the-plant leafy note rather than a brewed tea note, and I agree. There are some florals here too, but they're in the background, faint. In comparison to a couple other popular juicy green frags, Versace Versense is more fruity-sweet and less bitter, and Eliz Arden Green Tea is way less sweet and way more sour. The performance is just right for me; I tend to get nauseated by scents that last strongly for more than 4 hours. It's definitely a warm/hot weather scent, though. (Not to pigeonhole myself here, but) If you're a tomboy who is struggling to find fragrances which truly strike that perfect femme/masc balance, this is one to try. Thank god it's cheap, cause I'm gonna rock this all summer.

This is my first tea fragrance, yet the only one so far. At first spray, I was like "whaat its too GREEN for a fragrance". But I'm in love with it now! It's not fresh like watery/citrusy fragrances. It's not clean like soapy fragrances. But it is extremely PLEASANT! The longevity and sillage are just a meh, that's why I rarely spray it before going out, but I usually wear it at home. After a long working day, I shower, then a spray or two on my hand/upper wrist, and I can lay back and enjoy the vibe while doing my own stuff. As I have mentioned, this is my first tea fragrance, and it makes me want to try more other tea. P.s. The design is super decent also. Good packaging, good bottle design (especially the duct. I can see the duct inside many expensive bottles, but for this one, the duct is just like disappeared inside the fragrance fluid, which looks good)

This was a blind buy for me from a Banana Republic outlet store that was offering deep discounts on fragrances. And, boy – what a successful purchase! 78 Vintage Green has quickly become my summer signature scent. Anytime the temps start creeping into the 80s and 90s, this is what I grab. It’s a bright fragrance that really cuts through heat and humidity with its biting freshness. It’s a unique alternative to the aquatic citruses that most people reach for in the dead of summer. As noted by many, this is a green scent that to my nose has a sharp citrus vibe. If you could eat 78 Vintage Green, it would be bitter, tart, and ultimately refreshing. The florals add a nice touch without being too loud. It’s a well-blended scent, a real winner in my book. If you shop discounters, you may find this one hidden amongst the countless CK One flankers. Don’t pass it up.

Wow! This is very impressive juice. The notes are 'hyper realistic', reminds me of Incense Kyoto in that way. Doesn't smell artificial at all. The big knock on this one is performance but I guess I'm lucky, getting 3-4 hours. That's fine with me, especially as this is definitely for warmer weather. Its unisex for sure...maybe the drydown leans a tad feminine. If you like super masculine fragrances, you may want to skip this one. Could be the jasmine or magnolia. But this is fresh, vibrant, and addictive. I would definitely ask someone what they were wearing if I picked it up. I can see this being a great option for a warm day spent outside, where you don't want to offend anyone. Even if someone is very sensitive to fragrances, I highly doubt this would be an issue. At the price, you can definitely blind buy. Its a love for me!

I really enjoy this fragrance everytime I wear it! It seems to get a bit lost in my sizable rotation at times, but when I decide to reach for it I remember why I bought it. The performance isn't as bad as the performance bros online will have you believe. I'd say I get a good 4-6 hours out of this. I typically wear this for daytime casual use, and occasionally for work. Even within the first hour, I'd say the projection never goes beyond half an arms length. This will sit close to the skin for the 6 noticeable hours of wear. I don't mind this since I wear fragrances for myself and not for others to notice me. If you can pick this up at the rack store for around $20/$25 like I did, then you should definitely consider adding it to your collection if you want good variety in your daily warm weather wears.

78 Vintage Green is the olfactive love-child of Hermes Un Jardin En Mediterranee and Harry’s fig line. And thank GOODNESS for that. This is easily the best $20 I’ve spent on a fragrance in a long time. We open with a burst of bergamot and a refreshing juicy blast of green fruit. As it dries down, you’re taken on a journey through leaves until you’re left with the most beautiful dry and juicy, creamy spicy fig scent. If Un Jardin En Mediterranee is the fresh aquatic fig garden, then 78 Vintage Green is the same fruit and vegetation— plucked from the garden and placed on a provincial wooden table and decorated with the spicy warmth of Harry’s Fig. Ready for a sensory feast. Warm, niche, and elegantly versatile. I could see this as an all season green scent but this will really shine in spring and fall.

I'd call this the Dua Lipa of fragrances: Instantly likeable and suitable for almost anybody. Ripe, succulent, and pleasingly natural green accords are very much the star here--it takes a bit more discernment to pick up on the bergamot and fig notes. Some whiffs remind me of a high-end bath product, but the earthy tea note gives it just enough complexity and sharpness to stand as a proper fragrance. Echoing other comments, the sillage is moderate at best and it stays on the skin for no more than a couple of hours. But given the price point, there's no guilt in adding that extra spritz (or two) to pump up the volume. This is basically the perfect dumb-reach for summer if you're looking for something with with a fresh, botanical character that won't get lost in the sea of mass-appealing aquatics.

I need to get this back. It was my first Banana Republic. The presentation of the bottles in the icon line are top notch. At first I didn't appreciate it for what it was but after a few years it became a work of art to me. Especially in the summer. I would go noseblind to it though so my next bottle I'll buy in the colder season so I can let it oxygenate. I constantly got compliments on this fragrance even though I couldn't smell it myself lol. It's an earthy tea type vibe. When I first put it on it reminded me of something like .... Imagine the waterfall stages in Donkey Kong Country. Lol it just reminds me of sunshine, clarity, and tea. Growing to understand some fragrances are created to be no offensive and create a more humble scent aura. More intimate and romantic than the obtrusive ones

Just wanna say that the longevity/performance is NOT the issue with 78 Vintage Green, its that its SOOO EASY to go nose-blind to! I know this bc if I spray some say, on my arm away from my face I'll catch good whiffs of it for atleast 6 hours if not more with moderate projection, but if I spray it on my neck, shirt or just anywhere where it can constantly reach my nose, I cant smell it even just 30 minutes into the wear which really sucks bc its such a freakin' BEAUTIFUL, unisex "Green" fragrance! Imo 78 Vintage Green is one of THEE, if not THEE BEST smelling fragrances from this line. Smells like very natural, very high quality materials were used here, Just wish I could enjoy for more than just 30 minutes or so whenever I wear it! Fragrances like these are such an olfactory TEASE I swear!

I bought this on the cheap at Burlington to take on a trip to Japan and it was perfect. I read that the Japanese don't like strong heavy scents and can consider loud colognes offensive, so I wanted something gentle and easygoing and this fit the bill perfectly. This is a very green herbal scent that mainly presents a grassy tea accord to my nose. I get a bit of citrus in the opening but without much sweetness. It's a mature and super pleasant fragrance with a very zen-like vibe. It doesn't project much - which is exactly what I was looking for - and it only offers moderate longevity, so it's quite useful when you want to smell really nice but maintain a subtle presence. Given the ultra-low price point at Ross or Burlington, this one is a steal.

GORGEOUS. Somehow, despite being on the cheaper end of my collection, this fragrance has managed to worm its way up to become an instant favourite. One of the few fragrances I've gotten unprompted compliments for! It smells so lush and green, like the smell of a rainforest. The first spray is quite bitter, but that mellows out in a matter of seconds, though it sticks around. I've sprayed this into my hair in the morning and continued to catch wiffs of it well into the next day. Funny enough, despite easily being able to get this fragrance for under 75 dollars if you catch it on sale, the most common compliment I get when wearing it is that I smell "expensive", while I never get that compliment when wearing Tom Ford! 15/10 would recommend.

If I made a list of the best office/work fragrances of all time, this would definitely be on it. It smells like someone dressed in business-casual attire should smell. I imagine this being worn by a golfer on a sunny day. It has a nice vibrant green smell with a clean floral muskiness that is brightened by citrus and slightly sweetened by fig. Everything blended perfectly to create a smell that is charmingly suave and refreshing. The projection isn’t great, but that’s good for the workplace. Longevity could be better, it won’t be smelled by anyone after 4 hours unless they get really close to you, but this is a scent for someone classy and reserved. Not someone trying to show off.

This is a very great fresh fragrance that suffers from poor projection and sillage. I also have Linen Vetiver, 17 Oud Mosaic, 90 Pure White and Grassland and they are all great fragrances but lack Umph. I would rate all, but 17 Oud Mosaic which I would rate 4/10 because the fragrance is not very good, 6/10 because of this issue. However, if you can handle 16 sprays these scents are totally fresh and non-offensive in any way these fragrances may be for you. In that case I would rate them 8/10 (except 17 Oud Mosaic, 5/10) I picked these up for ~ $35/ea for 75ml on The Perfume Spot. Other sites are charging $70+ and I would not purchase these for that price.

This is just as good or better than a $450 50ML niche fragrance being shoved down your throats as the next BIG THING If Nishane, Regalien or Byredo bought Vintage 78 from Burlington / TJMaxx clearance bins for $12 and simply poured it into their own bottles and gave it some fancy French name for "fooled you again" it would be touted as the Fragrance of the Year Its niche quality, matter of fact its blended and refined on par or better than many of these newer niche tea scent profiles. On the sunny spring and early summer days, this stands out. Clean, fresh, green and invigorating Overspray it, spray it on your shirt as well. Creates a great sillage 97/100

Got this after trying the Tobacco and Tonka bean and researching more from the Icon line. This is probably my favorite out of the 3 I have purchased so far (Tobacco and Tonka, 90 and 78). Starts very citrusy and woody, but the top notes very quickly dissolve and you're left with a wonderful herbal and green tea, light scent with slight wood undertones. I love it and will definitely get a backup bottle when I next see it. I have played with layering the Icon fragrances and because of their simple composition they layer very well with others -- I know some shun layering, but try it, it's fun to experiment and sometimes you get some amazing scents.

I bought this fragrance because I had mentioned to someone that I really loved the smell of Harry's Fig body wash and that I wished they would release a perfume or cologne of this scent, so he mentioned that Banana Republic 78 Vintage Green was very similar to that smell. So I hurried to buy it online. Now that I have it, I really love it. I've worn it a couple of times so far. It starts off very figgy that's for sure then as it settles down it reminds of a different cologne I used to own by Burberry, it is The beat. Overall it's a very pleasant and fresh smell, exactly what I was looking for.

78 Vintage Green does NOT have "Poor Longevity". Its lasts around 7 hours on skin and even at hour 8 its still there just very faintly so. If you ever spray this on clothes and go to wash the shirt a couple days later it will still be there., Problem is that it suffers from poor projection, plus for some.reason its very easy to go Anosmic to. The scent itself is absute beautiful, smells of very high quality, very green and "Transparent", lots of neroli, magnolia and Tea and theres honestly NOTHING "Vintage" about this dna whatsoever.

I finally found a bottle at Ross for about $21, and this fragrance is really amazing. It’s a true green scent that isn’t dated or piney. The opening is strong, and the drydown turns leafy and smooth – absolutely delicious. Coincidentally, my Chrome Legend order also arrived today, and that one is worth every penny as well. Vintage Green leans more creamy (probably the fig) and photorealistic tea leaf, while Legend has more slightly sour twist, like the skin of a green orange and turns in an aromatic soup bar fragrance like Dove.

i love Icon collection a lot. And I already have half of it. All the bottles i got from the rack stores. I think the composition of this collection is wonderful yet performance is below 0 so i usually wear collection only at home so i can renew the scent on me every 2 hours. Vintage green is just one of my favorites, it brings such an incredible, refreshing mood to me. It's green in a sweet way, so crispy and round. Perfect for using as a cologne in the morning, it can help to open the eyes. The luxurious feeling of freshness

I think this is a gem. From the florals to the fruits to the woods, all of the accords are nicely balanced and blended to my nose. Refreshing with green and floral elements with a base which seems sophisticated without being overly woody or musky. The fig is also enjoyable. I find it lasts longer by adding a final spritz to clothing. I do get whiffs of citrus after the dry down. I need to revisit Un Jardin En Mediterranee to compare. I agree with @timmyvn about the nice quality of the bottle and atomizer.

I was able to scoop up this gem for 10 bucks at Burlington, clearance sale. Man this is pretty good stuff here! It does remind me of Mugler Cologne and has about the same perfomance which is slightly below average. But, it's blended very well and since I like to wear at least 2 fragrances per day in the spring and summer, the performance is ok with me. A nice green scent with a touch of florals, making it a wonderful fresh out the shower scent. I will be giving this some time come March and April.

At first I was not sure what to think until I wore it on a crisp clear spring morning. Green is my favorite color and this is GREEN. When I finally tried Mugler Cologne Come Together, I knew I had found my wheelhouse. Scent is 10/10 would bang again. Yeah, longevity could be better, but it was only 20 bucks for a 75ml, so I will decant and happily respray. Luckily I just found two backup bottles at Ross. Now I'll be on the hunt for the niche version of this that lasts and lasts.

Not much needs to be said about this one, but it is definitely worth the hype. Linen Vetiver smells similar without the fig note and some minor variations, enough to make it a different fragrance. If you do not like fig, try that one from the line. Although, I don't really like fig, but it's blended so well in here. A nice, watery, green, sweet (not in a fruity way), clean, and pleasing scent. Not boring either, it's really really enjoyable. Extremely hard to dislike.

This was love at first sniff. I get juicy citrus and uplifting tea notes first, deepening a little over time to fresh, wet greenery and an almost honeylike note. A soft green, perfectly unisex warm weather fragrance. It's quite light and doesn't project very far, but it lasted a good six hours on me, and it makes me feel fresh and relaxed. My wife loves to smell it on me too, which is a bonus. Overall this is great value for a really beautiful scent.

It took me a minute to discern what this fragrance reminded me of but once I placed it, it's all I can think of! It smells exactly like the Brisk Citrus Green Tea beverage. Not going to lie, I kind of love it! It's bright, clean and refreshing,, a perfect scent for Spring into early Summer. It layers beautifully with Banana Republic Neroli Woods. I picked up an 150ml bottle of this at a rack store for around $30, so it was a fantastic pick up.

I absolutely love this! This is great value for your money! It's like you put together BVLGARI Tygar, LV Afternoon Swim, Nishane Wulong Cha into 1 fragrance. I don't get the Xerjoff Nio comparisons, as Nio is painfully green, and this is not. This is only slightly green. It's very juicy fresh. In fact, the name Vintage Green doesn't really suit this fragrance. They should've just called it Juicy Fresh! It's very uplifting!

It’s really interesting how opinions are so different based on different people. While some find it “ok”. I’m obsessed with this scent. It brought back so much nostalgia, the green tea/leaves and mandarin remind me of when I used to pick the leaves off my aunts lime tree, I would rub them and take deep whiffs. That’s exactly what this is. It’s picked lime leaves, it’s grass, it’s sweet and fresh in a natural way.

Fresh, ethereal, natural, citrus, green, hints of wood and musk. Very well blended. Can't believe this is Banana Republic. I enjoy these types of light, bright, citrusy colognes and if somebody told me this was a Chanel Les Eaux, I would believe it other than stylistically it doesn't have the chanelade. It's right there in terms of quality and classy discrete elegance. Scent: 8.5 / Sillage: 7 / Longevity: 6.5

You wipe the bar top, not knowing it’s the last time they’ll all be together, and Tom asks for another martini. Notes: bitter oranges, magnolia/jasmine, cedar, vetiver.

78 Vintage Green from Banana Repulic is a scent I enjoy on hot days as the green tea and fig notes give a great cooling effect in my mind. I love the projection this scent has for such a fresh scent. Also the Icon line is a great deal especially this one, 17 Oud mosiac. At full retali only $48 or $20 at rack stores, for a fragrance with niche quality and a chepie price. I'm a fan.

Green and slightly sweet with the fig and after awhile you can smell the tea note combined with the already faint at this point fig note which is really unique and interesting. Can be worn by both men and women. It's a niche quality fragrance for nearly no money - I managed to grab a 75ml tester for 14 euro. Can't hate this fragrance although I wish it lasted a tiny bit longer.

For $20 at my local rack store, I am blown away by the quality of this fragrance. I have $100+ designer fragrances that doesn't stand up to this juice right here. Just beautiful, uplifting and fresh is what you get with this one. A spring and summer banger, but can wear In those early fall months while it's still a bit warm. Blind buy and back up bottle worthy. Too good!

Very good price value here. Very mid performance but incredible smell. smells like a 100+ dollar fragrance with this quality. very good summer and warm springtime fragrance. very green and citrusy. more suitable for younger people. The name isn't very suitable for this fragrance as it's not particularly vintage smelling. more modern smelling if anything . would recommend

My favorite daytime fragrance. Opens with sweet green tea and quickly becomes more of a musky/woodsy scent. Wish it lasted longer but until someone else makes something better, I won’t take points off. (I bought Un Jardin En Mediterranee and I really like it, but it’s not as musky or woody as this. I find EA Green Tea to be nauseating and nothing like this.) 9/10

Definitely a sibling from Hermés Un Jardin Mediterranee. Opening a little sharper citrus, more like a cologne, drydown a little less green. But definitely same feeling. Lovely fresh green summer scent. Unisex for sure. I am wearing this all summer now, definitely my favorite for this year, especially layered with some more heavy fig scents. Absolutely LOVE it!!!!

This is strikingly similar to Hermès’ Un Jardin En Méditerranée, which is great because I LOVE that scent. Tomato leaf isn’t listed as a note here but I definitely get it as part of that ‘green leaves’ accord. Fresh, green, sunny, without being overly sweet or floral - just beautifully balanced. Longevity isn’t as good as Hermès, but the price is so much less.

Going back to Burlington/Ross to find a backup of this, I already burned through my 3 oz bottle. I love this fragrance. Performance as others have stated is a bit abysmal. But this is truly a scent I will never get sick of wearing. It is incredibly fresh smelling and I am hoping I can find this DNA in other green fragrances because it is so intoxicating to me.

Not gonna lie, this one knocked my socks off with how good it is. It smells like walking through a nature trail on a beautiful Spring day, or having a picnic in the middle of a clearing--surrounded by nature. Amazing fragrance, especially considering the price. I feel like it preforms pretty well for me too. 8.9/10 this will always be in my rotation.
