Linen Vetiver

Paid just $12 of Ebay for this gem, and definitely one of my greatest ever best blind buys. As this can be worn by absolutely anyone, I consider this straight unisex, however, I do understand why some people say it leans feminine. This is because it smells super clean, super bright, super fresh, has some floral nuances, and smells like fresh laundry (when a luxury detergent or fabric conditioner was used). Now I'm not saying women smell more like the aforementioned things than men, but now for me as a young adult, this is the kind of smell I remember when I was young at homes of friends and family, or a laundry place, or after my hotel room was serviced and cleaned (sheets changed), or just somewhere where women are more situated/associated. Hope this makes sense - whilst growing up I experienced this kind of smell mostly around women, it's not because they themselves smelled like it, just that this kind of smell appeared more often than not around women because of other things going on / things they were doing / etc. That doesn't mean this smells industrial, or like a cleaners cleaning kit, or like a woman, it just smells like luxury clean laundry. The kind of smell that every man (and woman) will appreciate / have appreciated if ever they've had the pleasure of, for example, putting on a clean outfit, or getting into a bed with freshly laundered duvet covers and pillow cases and getting whiffs of this scent. It's a smell that makes everyone feel good. If others around you smell this, they probably won't think you're wearing cologne (if they don't know your a fragrance addict), but they'll just be reminded of what I've talked about above, and it's a beautiful way to smell. Scent = 10 Performance = 5 Longevity = 4 (just spray every couple of hours, or right before wanting to make a good impression around other people and it does the job) Uniqueness = 6 Sillage = 6 Overall for me 10/10 Overall in general 7.5/10

Another BANGER from Banana Republic. Honestly I'm starting to check around all the rack stores in my area just to try to collect this line. They can be found at half price or less, so grabbing them on sight should be a no-brainer. Love the straightforward niche approach in the designer space, for a great price. Clean, clean, clean is the name of this fragrance. It's got a touch of citrusy bergamot at the top, and dries down to a super pleasant floral/woodsy base. I'd say this makes for a very safe and appealing indoor, daytime fragrance. The office, relaxing at home. I think it can be used year round in those situations. But I would resort to something else for going out in the evening. Also, given the name, I can see this being used to spray clothes or bedsheets to give them a freshly cleaned scent. I wonder if this actually works better spraying the clothes you're wearing rather than your skin. The juice is slightly colored though, so be careful spraying it in any actual plain white linen fabrics. I can see how this fragrance leans a little feminine, but as a guy I'm still comfortable wearing it. Maybe that's just because Banana Republic markets the whole line as unisex so I expect it to work on men and women. In any case, I do think it's very unisex. So yeah. Happy that I picked it up. If you can find it half off at a rack store, you've got no reason to pass up on it.

All of these in the icon line, at least the ones that are in the clear bottles, are great from the Banana Republic line. To me this is a soft bergamot with florals and green notes.. plus musk, it has other stuff mixed in the background too. It smells like something you can and should use as room spray, spray your sheets, spray yourself with a t-shirt on, it's hard to not like this one. The vetiver in this is soft and gives it a touch of spice. If you have qualms with vetiver fragrances you should give this a chance because everything in this blended in and it's hard to distinguish notes or smell individual notes that may bother you. I do get very good longevity for something as soft as this..probably 4-6 hours tops. Spray this liberally. This was a steal for me, has niche qualities to it for such a low price. It's not high end by any means but it has unique qualities to it and performs good enough to be a dumb reach. I can't wait to include this in my regular rotation again when the warmer weather arrives, loved wearing this.

Another excellent fragrance from the BR Icon line. I like this one a LOT. It smells similar to 90 Pure White in that it is very clean and bright, but they differ. Linen Vetiver smells like what the name says- linen and vetiver. It's got a nice clean, sweet, musky smell over a lighter vetiver. It's not like an in your face vetiver. This one is blended well and I really, really enjoy it. Putting it on and then walking outside and having the smell hit me in the warmth really solidified this one for me. Definitely one of my favorites, it might have overtaken 90 Pure White in terms of how nice and clean it smells. Either way, excellent offering from BR! This smells, actually, like a mixture of 78 Vintage Green and 90 Pure White. It's unique, but reminiscent of them. Some of the frags in this line are similar, but they are all good. This one is shaping up to becoming a favorite.

Was at Burlington and the whole Icon line up was on sale for discount. Blind bought most of them. This was a very pleasant surprise. This is a perfect spring and summer fragrance. Like the fragrance suggests its a luxurious take on fabric softener. If you have ever used Gain Fabric softener then you kind of get close to the idea. That is in no way a negative on this fragrance. I think there should be more out there like it. It is very office safe. Non-headache inducing non offensive. Compliment inducing etc. You're not seducing anyone with this fragrance but it is probably the easiest dumb reach for spring and summer. 9/10 in my opinion. The only reason it doesn't get a 10 is because it doesn't project very well. It does last 3-4 hours on skin and clothes.

Light airy fresh citrus and clean musky vetiver, the scent is so simple, pleasing and versatile, for both men and women. To my nose, it is like a lighter version of Aqua Celestia Forte MFK, less citrus and musky, like after 2-3 hours dry down of Aqua Celestia Forte, it smells 80% similar to Linen Vertiver. I wear this scent everywhere to work, to gym, to buy groceries,...It is a crowd-pleasing, elegant and effortless scent, clean girl/boy aesthetic. It projects moderately for 3-4 hours and lasts on me the whole day, it is not a strong scent so spray freely on your clothes 👌🏻. I see it is always on sale, so for such a cheap price, I think it is a great steal for people working in the office day to day, and just want to smell nice and clean.

This has the most fantastic clean, effervescent, gently masculine, soapy/green opening (similar to 78 Vintage Green w/o the fig), unfortunately it becomes a barely noticeable skin scent in less than 15 minutes. They use a starchy iris note to create the Linen accord, and a super clean/wearable Vetiver to complete this very clean and bright composition. It basically smells like dryer sheets combined with a soapy/cola but in the absolute best way possible! For whatever reason, this fragrance disappears on my skin almost instantaneously which is why I like to spray on my clothes as I truly do enjoy the scent. If not for the performance, this would be a top notch niche fragrance(especially for the price). Scent: 8.5/10 Performance: 1/10

So I have a co worker that also works part time at Banana Republic so he got this for me with his employee discount as a Christmas gift. I went in to BR a week before to check out the fragrances and this is the only one that stuck. I really liked Cypress Cedar but decided I wanted this one. First thing you get is this very clean (as in expensive fabric softener) scent. In the mid it does lean a little more feminine, which I typically don't like but in this case it works. This is a great fragrance and I will be wearing this alot in the warm weather. My fiance approves. Longevity is moderate. I sprayed this at 9:30 am and still get a little whiff here and there. I really love this stuff.. Rating 8/10

This is a great fresh fragrance that suffers from poor projection and sillage. I also have 78 Vintage Green, 17 Oud Mosaic, 90 Pure White and Grassland and they are all great fragrances but lack Umph. I would rate all (except 17 Oud Mosaic which I would rate 4/10 because the fragrance is not very good) 6/10 because of this issue. However, if you can handle 16 sprays these fragrances may be for you. In that case I would rate them 8/10 (except 17 Oud Mosaic, 5/10) I picked these up for ~ $35/ea for 75ml on The Perfume Spot. Other sites are charging $70+ and I would not purchase these for that price.

Got this as a tester for 15$. The opening is almost identical to 78 Vintage Green, but, while Vintage Green goes into a fruity-green direction, this becomes musky-floral. Vetiver? In the background, you will notice it if you dive your nose in it up close. Linen? OOOH, YA! This would go well with a white linen shirt, both for men and women. As for performance, even if the scent is soft, it projects quite a bit and lasts up to 8h on my skin. Don't be afraid to go heavy with this one. I would say that, if you don't like florals, stay away from this. I personally love it.

the best surprise that I had on a blind buy. How gorgeous and rich this fragrance is for a really cheap price (I payed only $20). So fresh, floral, soapy and well blended and luxury. I don't think it is too natural but as It smells amazing and the price was really cheap, no negative thoughts on it. The bottle and box also give you the same vibe of a very expensive fragrance. It fit perfectly on my skin and very compliment for all: women and men. The performance is OK for an EDP. Longevity: 6-7 hours Sillage: medium for 1-2 hours Definitely I will buy it again !!

I would describe this as a beautiful classy musky bergamot soap. Not a scent youd want to wear out but perfect as an office/work scent or anywhere understated elegance is desired

Bought for £24 off Amazon after Cuba gave it a big thumbs up on his channel. Very clean, very Spring/Summer, super work appropriate. Great quality for a bargain price.

Smells like the middle ground between 78 Vintage Green and Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. Very fresh and green opening, then dries to a subtlely earthy vetiver and woods.

Great simple fragrance! Smells like very clean clothes and citruses. Longevity isnt great but overspraying should work fine with it!

Smells like high end hotel linens. Will be using as a linen spray. What a great smell to end a day and to inspire sweet dreams.

I love it. Unisex. Citrus and florals mainly. Safe and clean. Easy to wear. Warmer weather day scent for any situation.

I love fresh and clean so there's always room for one more in my collection. To me, Linen Vetiver hints at several other fragrances. I do get the slight similarity to 78 Vintage Green, my favorite from the line. As a man, I prefer Vintage Green because it is more green, sharp, and less floral. Linen Vetiver is a bit softer, but a man can still rock it. I get some of the floral MFK-ness, and what I remember of Byredo Bal d'Afrique, although I've already burned through my samples of those so can't do a direct comparison. I also get the slight comparison to the more feminine Versace Versense and 90 Pure White. As most of the BR line, this one sits right in the middle of the fem/masc divide, allowing one to enjoy the best of both worlds. The only negative is that on my skin it can come across as a generic body lotion, however that's perfect for out-the-shower. A win for 20 bucks, and preferable to many many other cheapie blind buys I've made in the past.

There is no doubt this is super clean and soapy/floral feel to it. The iris in this is not powdery as it would be in Dior Homme or Prada L’Homme. This is a great DNA for Spring/Summer. I love Vetiver...unfortunately, it only plays a bit in the background and is nothing like the vetiver in TF Gray Vetiver or Guerlain Vetiver. Longevity is about 5/6 hours and projection is soft to moderate. Never really leaves arms length and begins to sit closer within an hour. Final assessment - I like this...for my wife. I find the floral notes in here lean too feminine for me. Saying that, I think this is a great super-clean high end floral fabric softener vibe. This would make an unbelievable Spring/Summer work DNA for women, and it could be worn casually as well. The bottle I have will be handed over to my wife.

It just occurred to me what this sort of reminds me of... Byredo... Bal D’Afrique. They are very much in the same family and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was part of their inspiration while composing this one. Very mild, clean vetiver and freshly washed sheets on the clothesline, catching the breeze under the sun. Much like Bal D’Afrique, this is very enjoyable. Very relaxing easy going and relaxing, in fact. Out of the 3 I have from the Banana Republic Icon collection this is the softest but same as the others, I get pretty good longevity. As you could imagine this can be worn anytime, anywhere, but most suitable for spring and summer days. I love this line, they’re a good bang for your buck and are great to throw in your car or a gym bag without having to worry.

This is one of the cleanest scents I have ever smelled! You immediately get a burst of citrus at the opening and like the name says, linen and vetiver. Although I would say that the vetiver sits more in the background. I wish it were a little more present but I like it. I feel like this would have similar uses as Dior Homme Cologne but it leans more unisex. Great high-heat weather fragrance that just smells clean and refreshing.

It's my favorite out of the icon line.. it gives off a more floral varvatos artisan pure.. this might not be masculine enough for some and does lean feminine to me.. I love it though and get pretty good longevity out of it. My opinion this is a safe blind buy. Just so you know before buying the entire line linen vetiver, vintage green and cypress cedar are a bit redundant. This is basically vintage green with so much green.

It opens like 78 Vintage green, very fresh and green but softer. I personally don't like opening of 78, too strong :( This Linen vetiver really brings the feeling of clean and soapy. Not cheap. But it's a pity that vetiver is not as strong as described :((( As a vetiver lover, I'm not satisfied with it :(( Good for summer. Price: 8/10 Longevity: 5/10 Scent: 6.5/10

This is a pretty nice citrus fragrance. Petitgrain lingers, reminds me of a lemon tree in a garden. Vetiver is there, but not very bold or interesting. Altogether it smells like a nice breeze in california where you smell citrus trees and flowers and leaves. Pleasurable and well-made but not so interesting to me. A great purchase for $20

Smells like when your lady comes out of the shower and they haven't dried off yet and you can smell the fresh shampoo and soap scent still on their wet hair and skin. Fresh, clean, soapy soft floral scent. Great to spray on skin, clothes, linens as it also has a resemblance to laundry detergent, in a good way.

A very pleasant clean fragrance. The florals, particularly the hyacinth, make it lean towards the feminine side. as with a lot of BR fragrances, longevity is an issue, but good sillage while it lasts.

This smells bright, fresh, green, sunny, citrusy. Unisex in my opinion. This is a like a fresh just out of the shower scent.

SHARP BRIGHT CLEAN FLORAL-MUSKY-SOAPY/SLIGHTLY, GREEN, EARTHY Opens with rindy-citrus (lasts about 10-15mins), bright musky-floral & slight vetiver underneath (lasts about 20-30mins); After the 1st hour, it's mainly bright white floral-muskiness with a hint of oakmoss/vetiver & ambery-sweetness; The iris is more soapy than powdery. More floral than vetiver & more musky than green though the composition is mildly green; Once dried-down it's soapy w/ a hint of ambery-sweetness (smells like fresh laundered linens); Unisex, any age, any season; if you like fragrances like Prada L'Homme or Karen Low Pure Blanc or even BR Cypress Cedar then you'll probably like BR Linen Vetiver though Linen Vetiver is sharper & greener than they are. Projection/Sillage: DECENT, In-close scent bubble (but loud for the 1st 30min-hour due to it's sharpness) Longevity: GOOD, 6-7 hrs if you spray liberally (like @least 7 sprays) on fabric

I bought this as a $20 blind buy from Burlington Coat Factory. I have to say I am not a fan. It's very mild for a parfum and definitely leans to the feminine side. I got lured into the name "Linen Vetiver" thinking it would be a clean yet masculine fragrance. I cannot detect any vetiver and the middle notes of jasmine and iris overpower the other notes and linger. I might spray this on my bed linens to keep them smelling fresh but that's about it. You win some, you lose some.

This is basically Mugler cologne with a brighter and fresher top and with the mid/base dialed down. Beautifully fresh top, gone in ~30 seconds, and then settles into a very soapy 'linen' kind of freshness. I don't detect any vetiver past the first couple of minutes. Not bad at all (Mugler Cologne is a classic, after all), but not what I was hoping. Like to like, I'd take the Mugler though.

I really like this. To me it smells like a mint gum for some reason. I keep smelling mint freshness. I don’t smell linen . Now I regret buying ex vetiver buy JHAG because I like this better.. Edit:Doesn’t last

I was hoping this would be more floral and feminine, but there's an annoying bitter greenness to it, I'm guessing it's the petitgrain/vetiver. Instantly reminded me of vintage green which has the same note. This is unisex or for men, just not a fan of those notes.

Don't let the name fool you; this fragrance contains absolutely no vetiver. Instead, the dominant floral notes give it a more feminine feel, it's disappointing. This was probably my worst blind buy ever, but I only spent $19 on this bottle of perfume.

Got this for my wife and I based on some positive reviews but this is too feminine for me. I was hoping for fresh and clean but I don't get that. Reminds me of woman's hair fragrance from Victoria secret or woman's hairspray. She rates it as average. Worst vetiver fragrance I've ever smelled and performance is really terrible. 1/10

Linen Vetiver is clearly an unused mod for one of Creed's Acqua Originale perfumes, Asian Green Tea (2014), ala Julien Rasquinet, that Banana Republic was wise enough to pick off the shelf and put to good use. It's good enough that it has me wondering why Olivier and Erwin passed on it, but then again it would make sense that Creed chose exoticism over more classical French form (a floral chypre) by going for the green tea angle. Linen Vetiver has no tea note; the wispy crab apple of Asian Green Tea is more noticeable in here, while a gentle pear note frames the florals (dominates the far drydown as well). I get a hint of chamomile. There's mainly a sweet and very soft and well-rendered bouquet of iris and hyacinth with a little Hedione-like jasmine tickling the background. There's also no vetiver note to be found anywhere in Linen Vetiver. That must be Banana Republic's marketing team paying homage to Olivier's seemingly strategic habit of excluding the namesake note. They have a sense of humor, let it be said.

The opening is a really bright and beautiful citrus (bergamot.) I've been smelling some great citrus openings lately. It dries down fairly quickly into a sweet almost milky/yeasty smell? That probably smells disgusting, but it's so comforting. The drydown has this breadlike quality that grounds the fragrance, helps it last. It does sit close to the skin at this point, but it also lasts a fair amount of time for a fresh fragrance - it's been about 5+ hours since I applied and I can still smell it on my wrist. The iris here is very soft, clean, and slightly warm. This fragrance has the effect of being clean without being insipid. The overall effect is something fresh but also welcoming. This is a good fragrance to throw on during those hot summer days. I've heard you can find it at Banana Republic outlets for $25 (don't quote me) which I feel is a fair price for this one.

Profile: think of Elizabeth Arden's green tea, make it less sweet, add a little zing, boost the quality, that's what you get. It also reminds me of vetiver paradise from Carolina herrera, both share similar clean facets. Classy clean citrusy vetiver scent, the vetiver is not sharp or zingy, it's rather clean and smooth. Dont compare it to Grey Vetiver, or Guerlain's vetiver, it doesn't move in that direction. Very good everyday summer scent. Performance: it does last and project more than you'd expect, allow it to macerate and mature. Not a beast obviously as most of the perfumes from this line, I tried 3 of them, this one performs the best on me and I feel satisfied with what it does. For the price point it's worth it, also consider Neroli woods from the same line, it's a good scent as well.

This is another very solid fragrance from the Banana Republic Icon line. The initial opening was not exactly what I was expecting - But it quickly begins to change and resembles 78 Vintage Green to a degree, as enevictor mentions. As it continues to dry down, it goes in it's own direction. The florals transition nicely with the musk, lighten up and are not overly sweet or feminine - Making this a perfectly unisex fragrance. Very fresh, very Linen like - With some fresher/clean Vetiver in the background, which again helps the scent become a perfectly balanced unisex fragrance. Fantastic fragrance, as so many in the BR Icon line... For the price these can be found, you can't do too much better.

Knew I’d finally find this one at the discount clothes chains a couple months after Christmas season. And it showed up this weekend! A nice tame vetiver. I quite like it. I usually gravitate towards masculine vetiver compositions. This is still vetiver but more subdued and relaxed. This is good day vetiver. A sunny bright calm concoction that does last throughout the day.

This smells really good, clean & fresh. It’s very light & it’s got a fresh laundry linen detergent scent mixed with an herbal essences shampoo. If I can find a 75ml at Burlington someday for $20 I might get it. I see a lot of giant 150ml bottles of this over there but I don’t need that much. I love the BR 75ml bottles & presentation.

Linen Vetiver layers well with Vintage Green. I’m trying to find a perfume that reflects the original Sung by Alfred Sung before all of the reformulations. ChatGPT recommended Vintage Green but that’s not quite right...it’s a closer match to Sung when these two perfumes are layered (Vintage Green first, Linen Vetiver on top).

Home sick coming down with a summer cold. I am enjoying this scent layered with Vintage Green before I lose my sense of smell...it’s fresh, green and kind of citrusy. I will give it try sometime this summer when my olfactory sense is more functional.

Very weak and silage needs to be improved. Usually I hear my perfumes easily till the end of the day. But this one is an hour-deal. It's very basic citrusy fresh cologne. No earthiness or flower notes are noticed here. Thank God, I spent 20$ on it.

Cuba,this is too feminine for me:)But I'll try to pull this when warmer weather comes.It's nice,but I'd rather give that to my beloved ones.Very nice presentation box/bottle,and unoffensive/clean smell.

When people say soapy clean, this is NO JOKE. I've smelt fragrances deemed to be soapy/clean but this one takes the cake. I can wash my dishes and do the laundry with this one.

Smells so nice, unfortunately, price in India is like 80$ for 150ml. Not sure if it's worth it at that price, but I certainly love how it smells.
