Republic of Men

Unlike the Republic of Women the top and mid notes of this disappears fast if sprayed on the skin. Although the base is not so bad, I would have preferred the other notes stayed longer. Of course, the effect is different on fabrics. A bit tricky where and how to apply it. Overall this is very nice, complex, unique, has a little similarity to known fragrances but still unique on its own. Great for evening parties or even everyday office wear.

Got a discounted bottle of ROM recently and after trying and comparing it with several better known signature brands, I was amazed at the quality and performance of Republic of Men. The main note that stays is the sweet plum, but it's beautifully offset by the herbal greens, the hint of jasmine, and the dry woody notes. The sandalwood is there but quite mild. It's creaminess and musky drydown provide a great counterpoint to the sweetness of the plum and fleeting clementine, giving off a vibe similar to the drydown of Chanel's Allure Edition Blanche EDP. Minus the hefty pricetag of course. I think this underrated fragrance would do well both in casual and more formal occasions. Longevity could be better. Quite inoffensive and doesn't get cloying since it softens eventually. I was lucky to have gotten the last bottle. If you find it, try it and I think you'll discover why some call it a hidden gem.

Very plummy and powdery it’s gorgeous! Good scent to wear to church or maybe a wedding. I don’t believe you can even find this scent anymore. I got mine ten years ago as a gift. Great scent! I’m very impressed with the house. They pick some great noses for these frags! I’m smelling black platinum right now and this is niche level good.. well worth the 50 bucks they run on discounters and even better if you are lucky to snag them at rack stores for 19.99.. 7/10

This is a synthetic sweet mess of notes, but there's something oddly nice about it. Smelled within the confines of a store, it can seem very purchase-worthy... *ahem* but now that I own it, I'm not very pleased with its performance. Projection is minimal and it wears off very quickly with my skin. Comes in a tiny bottle, so it can be a touch-up three times a day fragrance, I guess!

i hate that its so expensive for such a small bottle, i got it as a gift and i love it but i dont know if id spend 45 dollars myself

This is a fragrance that a friend of mine was wearing and I caught a whiff of it. At the time, it did smell great... a nice floral subtle type of fragrance that is perfect for the cooler times ( I'm wearing this during the fall ) While I liked it when I smelled it and do like it now, for me personally, it's a little too powdery and soft to make me love it. If you are into that dark/powder/touch of floral smell, then you will enjoy this one (If you can find it) For me, As I finish it, I won't be getting it again. It just doesn't do it for me as I wear this myself.

What a fantastic underdog. I walked in to Banana Republic and smelled something that caught my attention. I went over to the cologne and smelled them all until I found it. The opening is a bit chemically but let it sit for a minute and it will surprise you. It definitely has that metro (think YSL cologne) smell. I wore this for a couple weeks nonstop after I bought it and will be going back for a bigger bottle even though I have a huge collection.

I don't like this at all, one of the most feminine scents I have ever come across for a male fragrance. Not sure how this is one of the top scents for 2011. This was 45 bucks when it first came out, I bought it for 17 and returned it the next day. I wouldn't try it even if it was free. Guess some people are smelling something I'm not, because it smells like my aunts at a family reunion. Long story short - Not for me, try before buying.

A very unique clean scent. Sharp and shower clean on the opening. Then the sharpness fades and you get a fresh, floral, sweet plum with some woods for the heart of the fragrance. A beautiful musk in the dry down with the sweetness still there. You get some whiffs of the fig and sandalwood throughout the fragrance. Well balanced and definitely quality juice. A unisex scent as well, actually it leans feminine!

Stumbled upon this while in Vegas. The scent just knocks me out! I've never smelled anything so wonderful. I know that this is hard to find so I have to pick my spots in which to wear it. Sometimes, I can't help spritzing some in the room just to get a nice whiff.I love it!

My new favorite, this is simply wonderful! Dont expect something complex or intense, in this you find a nice comfortable and relaxed aroma. Its hard to identify the transitions in notes but is a soft mix of fruits and flowers touched by a manly vibe and powdery woods.

Smell greats. Like a slightly more subtle version of ysl la nuit de l'homme, which often is to strong for a the daytime. I like to use this as my fall daytime signature and transition into la nuit for night time if i decide to go out.

It's a wonderful fragrance that is deep and captivating on the initial topnotes. I find it combines well with other scents. I wish very badly to purchase some more, but sadly it is unavailable everywhere. Why do they do this?

Blind bought it today. Quite heavy, i' m getting some banana here too. Synthetic perfume that lasts 15-20 minutes on skin. One of the most frigid perfumed i' ve ever come across. Save your hard earned money...

Nice scent with a unique combination of sweet plum, fig leaf, and woody'ness from sandalwood and cedar. Just one flaw everybody seems to agree is that the price could be less expensive.

love banana republic scents they are very fresh citrusy to fruity like banana republic classic, but they lack much staying power which does not merit the high price
