Hot Cotton

This is a steampunk scent! I can vividly imagine overheated machines hissing with steam. Yes, there’s a clean, freshly ironed white-shirt vibe (and yes, it instantly makes me think of Lupita doing the ironing; because I absolutely hate ironing, let Lupita handle it), but the real point of fascination here is entirely steampunk. Dry steam and radiant hot metal coexist. Gears, belts, pulleys, flywheels... metal pipes everywhere. Hissss, hissss; the sound of pressure escaping. It feels like being inside a workshop: everything dry, yet spinning like a vortex; radiant metal heat, a whisper of smoke; fog outside, warmth within. I’m wearing a high-collared ruffled shirt, a waistcoat with a pocket-watch chain, high-waisted leather trousers, workshop goggles, and a small bowler hat perched on my head. I have a quick review on my socials but essentially this is such a great skin scent. It obviously projects a little bit more than a skin scent but it’s very intimate. Addictive white cotton shirt after being pressed and steamed by an iron. Spyros captured this perfectly, you can even feel the hot steam enter your nose. Next level olfactory experience for sure. This is the type of scent they would use on a Disney or universal ride to give the 4D effect. Overall scent is amazing, especially if you’re into clean fresh warm silky skin musks / cotton fresh pressed shirts. Get a sample and see for yourself! I need to test performance still - just know it’s appropriate for all weather/seasons and it is not a room filler at all. True skin scent - so if you enjoy smell over beast mode performance this is the one! Granted it lasts on skin for 7+ hours just isn’t a huge projector.

This scent feels so deeply nostalgic that it actually made me cry the first time I smelled it. I was suddenly a child again, getting ready for picture day, filled with excitement because my mom had let me pick out my own dress for the first time. I remember the feeling of waiting impatiently as she ironed it for me - still warm and a little damp from the dryer. When I leaned in close to the steam, I almost burned myself, but found something oddly comforting in that heat. This is the kind of scent that lingers in the background, quietly reappearing when a breeze catches your skin or when you lay down. I frankly have no idea why this hasn’t caught on in the fragrance world.

Second review and I am loving this more than the first time. Wearing it with a crisp white button up shirt dress. Nude nails, sleek ponytail and when I tell you I feel the inspiration!!!! Hot cotton matches the fresh pressed shirt dress I piled my body with a great absorbing non scented body oil and it’s giving me more lasting power with hot cotton. I get wiffs of myself 🤭🤭😍😍. It’s sterile. Yes. It’s linear yes. But it’s avant garde in a way. It gallery fragrance. It’s an artists best kept secret. And I’m not even an artist lmao. Like this and Margiela tabis on with my dress and I feel magnificent! Buy it guys. It’s great to have in your collection.

Shut up! A literal ironed shirt. My plan is to wear this with dress pressed full denim Canadian tuxedo vibes of a crisp white button up shirt! And I mean CRISP! I also still had on some room1015 love-o-matic which is a clean laundry musky bubblegum scent and the two go together like a fat kid and cake. Like I said I’m spraying this all over the outfit and on my neck and chest I’ll do the clean laundry smell!!!! What a photorealistic scent. In my opinion it is a safe blind buy. Truly harmless. One could say it may be consumerism lol but I feel everyone needs a novelty fragrance in their line up like a novelty sock, sneaker or undies 🤭

OH MY GOOODDDDDDDDD ive truly never smelled a fragrance like this in my life its just so evocative of freshly ironed crisp white t shirt. I love a good metallic scent profile but none have ever come close to this one. It reminds me of being in a wood paneled tiny room (although I don’t get any woodiness from this) possibly a closet and you have this yellow lightbulb that’s on its last few weeks and you can smell the dust baking on the it. This reminds me SO much of #1 by Aphex Twin.

what a beautiful scent. it smells like clothes baked by the sun, taken off the drying line and pressed with a hot iron lol. as it dries down it smells like the suds from powdered detergent (Omo, Ariel, the old school ones!) without the metallic note those tend to have. it’s an EDP but performs like the extraits from this brand. I’ve scrubbed my hand with dish soap a couple of times but it’s still pretty vibrant. nice, clean scent and an easy hit with me.

This is a clean white musk with a lifted, airy, dry yet humid hot iron note in it. Someone made a comment about it as a ambrocenide and galaxolide accord and I think they’re right. Cheap or not? I don’t care and I’m happy to pay for this creative direction. I am just completely in love with this concept and I just think it’s the smartest white musk on the market. Super niche yet so wearable.

Opening is photorealistic definition of hot cotton - imagine the scent of a dry cleaner's when you go pick up your clothes or if you leave the hot iron for a bit too long on cloth when you're ironing Overall the fragrance is very musky with the distinct hot iron notes Besides the hot cotton impression it also dries powdery with subtle earthy nuances

Wow , how it is possible they have made this scent, the hot iron clothes accord is unbealivable, i agree with others that says this is similiar to safran secret

i thought the 'hot iron' in this would be a silly little novelty note and that this would simply smell like any clean cotton scent but i have been proven wrong, as it is UNCANNILY like a hot iron pressed onto fabric. it reminds me of when i was 7 and decided to redecorate my mom's bedroom by ironing the carpet floor and made tons of burn marks with it 💀💀💀 god did i get my ass beat for that lmao, sorry mom :') but that's both a compliment and complaint. i was hoping this would be the ultimate clean scent but the heat in this is almost too much, veering on burning fabric rather than just warm cotton - like 7yo me is the one with the iron again instead of someone with a brain. with that said though, it has a good performance and i still like it much more than i don't! overall rating: 🩷🩷🩷💔🖤 3.5/5

I picked up the discovery set and just had to start with this. Absolutely nailed it. Is it wearable? Not for me? Should you wear it? Certainly, if that is your thing. The name describes it perfectly. Some tell me that they get a "clean" smell. For me, it is like a fading memory of whether I turned the iron off and start to worry if my house is going to burn down by some freak accident. Really cool. Again, not something I would wear but a fun experience that is certainly captured in the name.

This does literally smells like a freshly ironed white cotton shirt! I was expecting it to be a bit warmer, but it's more of a sterile scent, if that makes any sense It's not bad, it's just that it's not my kind of perfume, but if you like the smell of freshly pressed clothes, you will fall in love with this one!

to me, it doesn’t just smell like hot cotton - it’s more like ironing damp clothes at a high temperature. The heat slightly burns the fabric, releasing a strangely sour, burnt note. i blind-bought it, so I’ll have plenty of time to truly savor this weird scent xD

At first I thought it smelled like clothes coming out of the dryer. Then my friend said it smelled like a hot glue gun, and I couldn't smell anything else after that.

It's definitely a great concept and very photorealistic, no doubt. Also very long-lasting. However, to my nose, that 'hot iron' note, aka aldambre, is coming off very metallic, in the same vein as Rosendo Mateu's No5, unfortunately, giving off more saffron than musk. You have to really enjoy that burnt rubber vibe that's in RM5, or the sharp saffron in BR540 extrait, for instance. That's what comes to mind when I smell this. A more wearable option for me would be Fugazzi's Angel Dust, it has a similar DNA but without the metallic aspect, or at least much more toned down.

This smells like the top notes of clue's warm bulb(without the amber, sandalwood, or vanilla base) with ds and Durga's I don't know what. It's ok but a bit synthetic smelling. I don't think it captures the heat note half as well as warm bulb. It smells clean but a bit boring.

Not sure what to think of this one, even after the second full use. It opens with a dirty cumin, and woods. Makes the stomach turn a bit :( too bad, I kind of like the profile

Interesting and fun concept with questionable execution. I think this is slightly less accomplished than its much raved-about cult favorite counterpart Warm Bulb, since Hot Cotton has a pretty obvious synthetic molecular quality that takes you out of the fantasy. It's overly simplistic and closer to a modern skin scent a la JHAG or DS & Durga IDKW, but lacks the clean and blended facets of those which ultimately make them more wearable. There's a burnt plastic edge to this that renders it only worthy of a novelty wear.

This is great! I first discovered 'Warm Bulb' from Clue Perfumery and have become really intrigued by fragrances that have a scent of 'heat'. Anyway, this one does it beautifully too!! Compared to Warm Bulb, Hot Cotton is lighter, muskier, and more linear which makes Hot Cotton a good intro to this sort of unique, but very wearing category! Warm bulb has more going on but both are amazing.

I adore the smell of hot steaming irons. So far I've only found such a scent in perfumes I've known in Serge Luten's Gris Clair (which smells a lot like a iron being used to me). I don't believe SL went for such an olfactory impression deliberately, so seeing this house try it on purpose has really peaked my interest!

smells just like warm cotton. its pleasent scent not very strong. i could see my self wear this as home scent or on some chill day you dont want anything complex. checked the price and 130€/50ml is kinda too much that i would see me buying full bottle but i still love this and would not hate to smell this on someone.

More tolerable than the other burnt plasticky perfumes from this brand, but this doesn't stand out at all from the plethora of steamed laundry musks. And in fact now it's drying down I can smell the same bothersome burning plastic note as their other perfumes. What the hell is it and why? Horrible.

this is insane, the initial sniff transported me to back when i used to fall asleep whilst watching my mother iron clothes that still had leftover perfume on them. if you cannot afford this, buy an iron my friend, and get to ironing. same exact olfactory experience.

Like when you walk by a house that has the dryer running, and the air coming out of the exhaust pipe is clean and cotton-y smelling. A cozy smell, which I love and I'm happy it can be captured in a fragrance.
