A Thousand Wishes

I bought this at the end of 2023 and still use it occasionally. I really would consider this a safe blind buy for anyone who enjoys sweet floral scents. It's definitely sweet, but not juvenile - the florals and amber/amaretto are what offset this, I think. I really consider this to be just a pretty scent. I wouldn't call it boring like some people say on here, and DEFINITELY NOT grandma vibes at all, so I don't know what crack those people are smoking to think that about this smell. I could see girls from middle school wearing this, as well as women up to 50+. I initially smelled this from my coworker back in 2013. She always had this & Forever Red from B&BW in her car and would douse herself in one of them when I went out with her on lunch breaks. She was 6 years older than me (I was 19 & she was 25) so she very much gave me cooler, older sister vibes, lol. This scent reminds me of her, and my s.o.'s brother's ex-girlfriend who I noticed wore this on Christmas in 2023, and she is a quieter, soft-spoken kind of girl. I love having this in my collection of well over 50 perfumes (I may have closer to 100 when including all my minis, travel sizes, and samples 🙈) I am more in the mood for this one during winter, but maybe that's because I bought it during that season and now it reminds me of colder weather and holidays. Prob could wear year round, but I prefer it in fall/winter for sure. Definitely smell this in B&BW or pick it up for a deal if you're interested because I truly don't see anyone regretting buying this, even if it doesn't end up being your favorite. Just a clean, sweet, PRETTY✨️ smell that is an easy reach when you have nothing else in mind or want to feel cozy. ♡ P.S. they make this scent in a diamond shimmer mist, if you love glitter! I actually only have the shimmer mist, not the regular mist or eau de parfum. The body cream also smells divine/highly recommend pairing it with the mist for extra oomph & longevity. As well as the shower gel (they have 2 types) or the body scrub (I have the scrub, which is like a cream mixed w/ scrub rather than just a salt scrub.)

Bright Crystalline Peony with an Almond-Flour Base... This is a different type of peony than what's been popular in perfumery for the last two decades or so, although it's still recognizable. Rather than a thicker, gummier rose, the thickness is represented in the base of what smells like a blend of amaretto, almond flour, cashmeran and possible some tonka, which gives the former thickness some airy-powdery-woodiness and makes it suitable for year-round wear. The amaretto reads a little like an almond extract note. There's also a fruity facet from the quince, I enjoyed this. It would be great on its own, or layered with other peony scents like Bright Crystal Versace and dupes or Incanto Shine Salvatore Ferragamo, It would also be nice layered with rose, white florals, fruits, almond or tonka, but I'd likely layer it with peony, rose, magnolia, amaretto & other white florals. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

this is honestly the IT Girl of BBW. There has to be a reason why it's been around for so long and why it's always one of BBW's signature scents. To me, it smells luxurious, elegant, feminine, and girly with just the right touch of maturity. It's sweet and classy. Now that I've gotten much deeper into the fragrance world, I also understand what people mean when they say it's become a little generic or even a bit "boring." It's such a popular scent that it almost feels familiar to everyone. It's the kind of fragrance that's perfect for everyday wear, running errands, or just wanting to smell pretty without thinking too much about it. But honestly... I think that's exactly why it's so successful. It's incredibly easy to love. Back when I wasn't really into fragrances and didn't know much, I completely fell in love with this scent. And even now, after trying so many more fragrances, I still do. 💖✨

Let me start by saying- I’m a SUCKER for peony scents, so I had high hopes for this one, and honestly? It didn’t disappoint. At first spray, I’ll admit I was a little unsure. It came off kind of artificial, almost too sparkly and sharp. I was like, “Wait... is this going to be too much?” But then, bam. Once it settles down and melts into your skin, it transforms into something gorgeous. Warm, floral, sweet, and just the right amount of cozy without being heavy. The peony really starts to bloom and you get this soft, almost romantic mix with the amber and champagne notes that gives it this elegant flirty vibe. It literally smells celebratory- like something you’d wear to a party or a date. So if you love peony or floral scents in general, give this one a chance to dry down. It goes from “eh” to “omg yes” real quick. Definitely a keeper in my collection!

I was given this body mist as a gift, and I am absolutely in love with this. I have been using it ever since high school up till my second year of uni. (And it is still so full, in all these years only about one-sixth of the bottle is gone!) Here's a small warning. This would be more suitable for students, as some people may find it "childish". You know that sweet pink-milk caramel candies? Or a strawberry lopsicle but lighter sweetness and with a very subtle alcoholic note? Well that's my first impression, although there's also a soft floral nuance underneath. Overall, It is pretty mass appealing and crowd-pleasing. if u wanna find sth unique or distinctive then this is not for you. While i do enjoy it,i cant help but feel that it lacks depth, too plain, very feminine yet too predictable. It does remind me of some shower gel at times.

Scentmojis: 🥂🌷🎠👗 A Thousand Wishes is champagne personified--effervescent, happy, elegant. I resisted this fragrance for a long time--when I first smelled it, I found it boring and without distinction, and I was annoyed that Bath and Body Works seemed to be promoting it so hard. Now I've changed my mind. This is so lovely. I think what annoyed me about it originally--its lack of a strong, identifiable note leading the composition--is now what I like about it. It isn't dominated by any one thing. It's lightly floral, lightly creamy, lightly bubbly? A bit hard to describe. There's something very high-class about it. Picture an idealized, clean, pastel version of Paris in springtime. That's this fragrance.

Honestly IDC that this "smells like middle school" yadayada. It's such a nice, sweet peony champagne scent. It smells girly, fun and bright! perfect if you don't know what to wear or just for an inoffensive daytime scent to go run errands. I always get compliments when I wear this! I like pairing this with sweet tooth by Sabrina carpenter, Kayali Vanilla candy rock sugar, or Cote de azure by Oribe!

This is a no brainer scent. Liked by many, also a compliment getter. You get sparkly fruitiness when sprayed, then it turns into an ambery floral scent. When it completely settles, you get that amaretto cream in the background of amber. Easy reach for me. People like this a lot. Not long lasting on me. But this scent makes me feel pretty! You all should give it a tryyy

I FORGOT HOW GOOD THIS SCENT WASSSSS. it took me right back to elementary/middle school!! i would say it’s more floral and fruity than it is alcohol, but i think that it’s better that way lol. to be honest, it kind of reminds me of my mom, which is weird because she’s never worn this, but i suppose that this perfume is good for all ages!

this scent does have a special place in my heart as it was my first b&bw scent, also it may be quite common especially for it to be a signature scent (no shade) but it just smells so girly 🎀 only thing i wish the longevity wasn’t so weak as i always have to re-spray like 10 mins after D;

I don’t care what anyone says about ATW I absolutely still love her sm, she’s effortlessly girly and smells damn good. I love the peony in this, and bubbly Prosecco. I will ALWAYS repurchase her, I love mixing ATW with Gingham gorgeous bc of the peony. Best combo hands down.

one of my favorite scents from bath and body works so far, it was my first spray from them and it smells SO good. It's so clean, fresh, and sweet and makes you smell like your fresh out of the shower. it's super girly and perfumey and its just an overall amazing smell.

this is one of the few bbw i'd repurchase. it goes with anything and lasts a decent while on my skin :) it's a pretty safe purchase if you vibe with the accords. ofc it's nothing crazy or niche but you know you'll smell good.

Sweet and sparkly, for sure. I like the pink champagne smell, and there's a distinct sort of perfume smell about it that I like. For some reason, I also think it's a sort of sexy smell, in the right contexts.

I have this as a foam soap. I get fresh first but that might be the soap medium. After that I get wine, then red berries, then amber, and finally floral. I don't detect the amaretto at all.

it smells so mature and sexy i love it. a beautiful floral with a little fruitiness. perfect for spring! it also lasts all day on my clothes, a good while on my skin when moisturized.

I like it! I can only describe it as sparkling! lol my husband got me this probably two years ago now. But it's sparkling, "darker" fruity to me, and not too sweet. Not offensive.

The perfume smells really fresh and sweet but it isnt the strongest. However, you can smell it when your close to someone who has it. It isn't overpowering but I really love it.

this smells so YUMMY it reminds me of a perfumed little girl garden party, kind of jammy, cupcake-ish. jammy frosting maybe, warm beautiful day, surrounded by flowers.

bought it a few years back in America, i was so obsessed with it. i hate that it didn't last long and didn't leave a trail, but we can't always have what we want 🥲

This is delicious. Such a well done juicy, sweet, floral, fresh and clean scent. A very easy reach, I get lots of compliments when I wear this.

the classic "locker room" scent that is fun and easy to wear. as expected, longevity is poor. smells pleasant but... cheap.

Light, bright, fresh, clean... I just love the smell. Peony definetly comes through in the body mist, but it's all well blended so that it just smells like sweet lightness. I would wear this all the time but it's insanely weak. It's top note heavy but cmon. I would complain about the performance more because it's honestly absolutely atrocious But I got it at an insane threefer sale so I really can't complain and I don't mind reapplying. I guess I just overspray this all over after I shower to feel extra clean (but it works as a pick-me-up for me anytime!), and as it matches the rest of my routine: I have and use both the shampoo (currently using it as hand soap because I found something better for my hair lol) and the body cream. I’m a biiiiig fan of the body cream and always carry a tube with me (for my eczema). Yeah I loveeeeee the rest of the careline, they lean more creamy sweet, the body cream has much more of that "amaretto cream" note and especially more quince, overall I think they're all so good. Everything is sweet (and in the case of the body cream, creamy) without being like an actual dessert, light instead of heavy or sticky, and yeah they always make me feel super fresh and clean. Total fav as a B&BW careline in general. Also this is soooooo damn overhated. "It smells cheap" It's B&BW. Also, subjective. "It's too simple" It's B&BW. Also, not every fragrance has to be complex. Simple adds more daily wearability also. "It's boring/generic" It's B&BW. You also forget that B&BW body mists are a lot of teens' starter fragrances. "This reminds me of (x) so it's bad" Okay sorry that happened to you But ? What about the scent itself? Literally why are we getting offended over the definition of an inoffensive fragrance LOL

Pretty, sweet, fruity, fresh, cheerful, sparkling, citrusy, floral, warm, playful, flirty, feminine, cozy, and lighthearted I still have this original perfume of A Thousand Wishes, as well as the body mist and newer body lotion. On me this opens very sweet, sparkly, bright, fruity, and a little floral. The champagne adds a nice effervescence, while the star fruit and quince add a somewhat citrusy fruity burst that’s almost slightly sour for the first few minutes. Then the freesia appears and adds a nice freshness, also there’s just a subtle whisper of the almost rosy peony. After it’s dried down is when it really shines for me though. It’s not as bubbly, but still has a sparkling feel to it. The fruity notes are no longer as sharp and pronounced, but just pretty and fruity. The sweet sugar, cozy almond cream, and golden warmth of the amber really make their appearance here. The sweet, creamy, warm, and coziness they bring is what draws me into this scent. The sandalwood and musk at the base helps to balance out the sweetness and the citrusy fruits. It’s a shimmering, twinkling, charming, playful, and just overall pretty scent, especially for the holiday season. It’s very fruity and sweet though, so if that’s not your thing then you probably won’t like it. It’s light-hearted and girly. Overall it’s also pretty crowd pleasing and inoffensive. I personally don’t reach for it a lot anymore, but I do still enjoy wearing it whenever I’m in the mood. I do get good performance with A Thousand Wishes, especially using the body lotion with it. The longevity is nice, it lasts 6-7 hours on me. The projection is decent, it radiates out at least an arm’s length from me.

I used to wear this religiously as a middle schooler and I got back into this scent almost 10 years later, not of my own volition but simply because everyone decided to gift me something in this scent. I’m genuinely not complaining it’s extremely nostalgic and now as an adult I have a different appreciation and perspective on it. As a chumpy child I wore this with the intention that I’d seem more mature and cool because “no one else was doing it like me.” I now know after reading reviews that most if not all of us wore this in middle school as well...anyways it gave me a glimpse into what my adult life would be like. Drinking expensive wine, pink lace night slip on, cable tv true crime tv shows on mute all while laying around my lilac and cream colored room while surrounded by peony bouquets gifted by some metrosexual guy with long hair. Now as a freshly adult woman I still feel her daydreams but I can feel the night seeping through. Sipping prosecco while sitting on a mushy couch, I can feel it wrapping around me. My friends are in the kitchen trying to mix drinks, amaretto and orange juice...or amaretto and pineapple juice, my boyfriend comes back from outside and he hands me a cluster of peonies he cut from the house next doors side garden, the peonies and him are delightfully moist from the drizzle. We cuddle on the couch and I can smell his warmth, the flowers, and the orange/pineapple créame concoction our friends just whipped up and are now splashing around the living room.

Pleasant scent. Strongest notes are the peony and quince. Wish they added a bigger dose of amber to give it some depth. I think actually smelling the Amaretto could've given it an interesting twist as well. Sadly I get very little Amber and no Amaretto. But it's still okay. What I call a "happy fragrance". Most likely very inoffensive too, ideal if you're into the sweet, but fresh floral-fruities and want to smell nice, but not overpowering or like typical perfume. Indeed more bodymist type scent than a true perfume. To get any projection on dry skin you truly need to rock that atomiser and put the body in bodymist. I personally think it'll be on its best in both spring and summer - compare it to a weak edt quality wise. Longevity didn't go beyond the one hour line on me. Can be worn in winter as a layering fragrance imho. I tried it with some heavier perfumes and a few unisex ones where my skin fails to pull the sweeter notes or that can use some variety every now and then. It helped freshen them up a tad and sometimes I suddenly got a sparkly champagne note when layering, where I otherwise get just peony, quince and a vague whiff of amber. Still... took it off my Autumn/ Winter shelf. It's back in the closet, waiting for the birds to start breeding.

I own almost every form of A Thousand Wishes: body cream, lotion, hair conditioner, body wash, fragrance mist. I detect some tolerable patchouli though it is not listed in the notes. I used to wear pure patchouli oil for a short period of my life and then I started to become annoyed by the hypocritical habits of hipsters I was around who wore too much patchouli so now I associate patchouli oil with those negative feelings and typical shove any scent with patchouli to the side. However, A Thousand Wishes reminds me of Infusium 23 brand hair products I used in the late 90s and early 2000s so I like A Thousand Wishes though I detect that patchouli undercurrent. Clean and Earthy. Nice winter scent for someone who typically leans toward soapy simplistic florals buts wants a little grounding earthiness for winter. I think I paid $5 for each product. Lotions and creams seem to do the chemistry trick. The spray is ok if you don’t overdo it. The spray can go the synthetic direction when over sprayed and it isn’t supposed to be a room filler and if you make it that way, you defeat it’s charm!

this scent was part of a gift from a student on my last day of student teaching. the whole student teaching experience was all around an awful time for me that i really don't want to remember, and this is the only memory of it that i keep around. i know it came out in 2014, but smelling it instantly reminded me of 2012. looking back i feel like there was overall a genuine hope & excitement for the future, and i, at 13, was without a care in the world anyway, remembering that feeling at a time where for months i hadn't felt anything besides self-consciousness and dread for the future was kind of a healing experience. out of all the niche and complex scents i've tried, a generic Bath & Body Works scent is by far what evoked the most emotion out of me??? i don't really like to wear it but i smell it from the cap from time to time for that nostalgic feeling. makes me want to reconnect with my inner child, live laugh love for my tweenage self.

ATW hasn't been reformulated as far as I can tell, I've had a bunch of products in this scent over the years, and I wore it a lot in 2019-2020 in particular. It's really quite lovely, and does have a perfumey scent that rivals mainstream designer releases. It's a little bubbly and effervescent, but it has a delicious almondy undertone. I wouldn't have thought sparkling wine and almond would pair so well together, but they truly do. This is unique enough to be memorable, which is always a quality I value. It's not however, challenging at all, and I think most people enjoy it (I've certainly reviewed positive feedback). It's safe, but fun. It isn't overly sophisticated, but B&BW doesn't tend to be. Despite the wintery leaning notes, it fares well in any season. Longevity and sillage are on the low end of the spectrum, but layering really helps. Plus, the lotion is my favorite anyway, it's extra yummy. 🥂✨️ (Cross posted to other listing.)

this isn't the kind of scent that i tend to go for since florals are hit and miss for me and i don't usually enjoy fruity fragrances, but this is actually really beautiful. is it majorly overworn? yes, you've definitely smelled this lmao, but it's still a really well-done scent nonetheless, love it or hate it. it's got enough brightness and effervescence to be wearable for the warmer weather/daytime, but it's also grounded enough by the amber to be cooler weather/nighttime appropriate so i understand why this is a signature/everyday scent for so many people. it's classy but still sweet and "young" if that makes sense. that said, the projection and longevity on this fragrance is not great, even for a mist, so maybe give yourself a couple extra sprays.

I can make “A Thousand Wishes” about how I wanted this to smell and perform 😉. Maybe the festive packaging and the name had my expectations high, but I know BBW could have executed it better. I wish the sparkling prosecco was stronger and lasted longer. Those modern aldehydes were very transient despite pleasant. I wish the base notes had more depth. I only get a baking vanilla more than an oriental amber or interesting amaretto. I wish it performed better (both the FFM and the perfume have less than average performance). I wish people don’t misinterpret my review. ATW is very nice for a starter scent kit but if you have a gazillion other mists and perfumes this won’t add much. I won’t complete my Thousand Wishes here and leave it at these four.

I'm a sucker for a warm, fruity floral fragrance and A Thousand Wishes fits the bill perfectly. Yes, it's basic and feels youthful and bubbly but it's also pretty and an easy reach. I feel like it could be a safe blind buy if you like fruity florals - there's nothing offensive here (except all the derogatory reviews mentioning grandmas. Why are we doing this???) I like it for days/evenings when I just want to smell nice without clearing a room. Longevity is whatever but it's a body mist! Get the EDP or layer it with the matching cream/lotion for more staying power if you want it. It's probably the marketing, but I prefer ATW in the fall and winter and actually find it too heavy for spring and summer in my climate.

This used to be a favorite, but it was reformulated a few years ago. I can no longer pick up on the Amaretto and the nice champagne fizz has been replaced with a lot of heavy florals. A lot of people are calling this "Grandma" scent now, which I don't agree with. It still smells nice, but it's pretty weak now and does not smell the same. I plan on buying the vintage bottle so I can smell how pretty this used to be. It's still nice, but like a lot of the others they keep bringing back, has been weakened to the point of insanity. I will keep and use my bottle but I won't be buying it from the store again, unless a miracle happens and they change it back.

This smells like a more mature version of champagne toast.The prosecco and amaretto really comes through with this one.Its softer and more elegant, more perfumey. Very nice fragrance if I didn't know better and blindly smelt this Id think its something expensive. The packaging is also impeccable.Its a light scent so it doesn't envelop a room. I really like this one I got the body cream and ill be purchasing the body mist.Ill use this to layer with something when i'm feeling fancy. Update: This layers beautifully with my coco mademoiselle EDT

This is one of my favourite BBW scents. I buy the lotion and shower gel to layer it and it will last for hours. It's sweet and I get a bit of floral but not much fruit. It's a pretty, feminine scent and if you wait for their sales, you can get it for a great price. I like the sparkling packaging too. I think they market this towards Christmas but it's a great scent for any time of the year. The sweetness is not too much for summer because the fragrance as a whole is so light. Great scent that I'll always re-buy.

For some reason, I thought this was way older than it is, there's something nostalgic about this scent. Something about prosecco and amaretto just pair together so nicely. Imagine my surprise when I noticed this came out in 2020. The aldehydic accord is a little stronger than I'd like it to be, but it's still a nice, pleasant fragrance. And it does go away in the dry down. Pairing the A Thousand Wishes mist with the matching body creme will give you at least two hours, I've noticed.

A nice floral fruity scent. I can also smell the prosecco note. It smells very girly but at the same time mature and the scent could even pass for a designer one i think. Also the bottle is soo pretty. However the lasting power is not very good, but that is expected from a body mist. I like pairing it with the shower gel and lotion, the ultimate hydration cream is very thick and moisturizing and it even smells stronger on me than the mist.

love this perfume, but the intensity of it ruins the rating.. it must be a pattern with bath and body works's fragrances with cake themes/notes, but the cake note is always way too much for me! even though this perfume doesnt even have a cake note, i can still smell it very well? perhaps it's a mixture of other fragrances that i've worn that haven't fully gone yet, but it's very, VERY strong. other than that, its good! i really like it <3

a very girly scent and beautiful packaging. there is a tendency that this scent to be soapy, but a good soapy kind. tends to be cloying for me, but isn't bothersome. I do imagine girls wearing this would be also wearing a pink and sparkly dress. not particularly a "love", but I do like the fragrance. I can see myself wearing this every day / on several occasions ♡

really cute and pretty floral! im not the biggest floral girl, but i actually enjoy this! such an easy reach for any season. smells like the color pink this doesnt last, like most bbw fragrances, so you have to keep reapplying throughout the day. i keep a travel size version of this in my purse when i wear it overall great blind buy and good to give as a gift!

This is your classic (if not cliche) fruity-floral, but the amaretto adds a nice balmy nuttiness to it. No aldehydes, IMO. This is a clean, feminine easy-reach. I actually find most of the BBW scents that have gone into their regular rotation, including this, to be much stronger than any of the new releases.
