Black Amethyst

Apparently this is coming back; GOOD!!!! This is soooo lux and velvety. It smells like a traditionally dark sultry perfume with that “purple vibe” (think Calvin Klein Euphoria) and it smells way more mature than Bath and Body works typically does nowadays. It’s very earthy and patchouli-heavy; and I hope B&BW doesn’t reformulate it like everything else that gets brought back 🤣 there’s also definitely a plum vibe going on too and it’s just not listed

Best bath and body works scent by far All the best ones have been discontinued (why do they do this only to replace them with some weak ass cheap weak generic fruit sweet nonsense) Definitely giving Coco Mademoiselle vibes. For some reason I get a hint of coconut. You can get your hands on the body products still but the candles and home scents are basically all gone and it sucks because it works just as well in the home

Love this for night time in cooler weather. Spicy and sexy. Granted, my husband isn’t huge fan because he prefers the super sweet vanilla smells than men seem to be susceptible to, but I don’t care and still keep this fragrance restocked when B&BW brings it back. Madonna Lilly from Dedcool is giving me a similar peppery vibe

I'm not usually one for florals, but WOW!! Not too sweet, just a little bit earthy and powdery. Smells like 2008. I'd consider it a pretty unisex fragrance overall, and it seems to last a bit longer than the other B&BW fragrances I've tried out. Would totally buy again if they bring it back.

Pure nostalgia, absolutely beautiful gothic goodness that takes me back to being 8 years old when my aunt gave me a bottle of this time capsule. It's so rich and layered, the patchouli and amber give it such depth that I don't usually feel in most mists. So glad she's back

Most underrated BBW scent. It’s giving spicy floral with far more depth than your average BBW mist. Sad that it’s discontinued but Black Tulip by Nest is pretty similar.

I just picked it up at the summer sale and it is the same as I remember! more "vault" releases BBW PLEASE!

Sexy, Sultry, it smells Devine, this is one of my favorite all time scents, love the longevity

Patchouli, woody, warm spicy, earthy, warm, amber, balsamic, floral, feminine, sensual, seductive, sexy, rich, deep, dark, mysterious, alluring, inviting, cozy, comforting I get a very sensual, rich, and deep sweet yet tart berry scent with velvety peony, creamy sandalwood, warm golden amber, and rich patchouli. I remember a friend of mine buying this back around ‘08, and I had always meant to grab it for myself. Later I ended up getting Dark Kiss which always felt quite similar to me. So, whenever I saw this was going to be available again during the SAS I just had to get it! It’s just like what I remember! Definitely much more rich and deep compared to most B&BW scents. This will be nice for when I want something different during the fall and winter, but otherwise it’s not something that I’ll reach for a ton. Don’t mistake my meaning though, it’s a great fragrance, I just typically prefer gourmand/vanillas and beachy/coconut scents the most these days. I’m so happy to have finally added this to my collection though! As a side note, I also bought Wrapped in Vanilla, and more Cashmere Glow and Cotton Candy Clouds today.

This is a strong like. If it were not for the weak performance it would have been an easy love. This is one BBW scent with character, quite unisex too. This is the only BBW scent I own with such a notable vetiver note (yes it’s there even in the mist not just the edt, many notes aren’t listed for the mist). I understand why this rarely comes back during their SASs. It doesn’t appeal to their usual demographic. However this has depth and uniqueness. The rather masculine leaning bergamot vetiver combo is balanced with the sweeter mandarin and vanilla rendering it universally appealing for all genders. The floral heart is more softly fresh than creamy and feminine. I don’t get any strong tuberose or gardenia, probably peonies and LOTV. The base is earthy and is more-so vetiver than patchouli with a tad of vanilla. I don’t understand all the comparisons to Coco Mademoiselle. CM is the ultimate Orange-rose- patchouli mix. This is bergamot- peony and vetiver. If you like one you’ll probably enjoy the other but I wouldn’t call them dupes.

biggest drawback is the longevity and sillage. otherwise a perfect scent omg. the peony is sweet but not overpowering, fades within a few minuges. the patchouli is subtle and doesn't reek. pleeeease b&bw make more mists that aren't sweet and gourmand to high heaven!!!!!

I love this scent. It's a gloomy day in October and it's so fitting. I'm not so great at describing deeper/darker perfumes, but this one is soooooo good. I have an older body spray and it lasts quite a while, especially on clothes.

Smells nice but contains hydroxycitronellal, which I'm allergic to. That's the peony note; it's used for peony as well as LOV. The lotion of this fragrance lists hydroxycitronellal on the ingredients list.

Early 2010s vibes dark mature patchouli scent. I like it

This is returning for this summer’s SAS!!!!

Don't get me wrong, the scent itself is great. But it has ZERO lasting power! No matter how much I spray, the sillage is gone within minutes. I know body mists aren't supposed to be strong, but normal B&BW mists last much better than this, and some mists like Vanilla Café have eau de parfum level strength. I was excited to have something nostalgic and 2000s but that only lasts a few seconds ):

(Reviewing for the body lotion.) I can't put my finger on exactly why all B&BW's body lotions end up having this off putting and plasticky scent to them and I believe this same reason is obscuring a lovely scent for me. This is a much more mature, strong and alluring scent and no one would think it's B&BW at first sniff - but other than just peony and sandalwood, I can't smell much. I wouldn't consider it patchouli forward at all, but I'm certain the body spray must perform much better! Currently I am simply using this up as a base for layering, and I'll always give these lotions 5 stars on longevity for they always linger on skin for several hours and even many more on clothes. A very dark, mysterious scent that pairs perfectly with a cold breeze, a cloudy night sky, a full moon and rain. But not really up my alley.

This smells exactly like gasoline. I tried it twice then threw it out. Not sure of I had a bad batch or what but it was indistinguishable from gasoline and it was absolutely revolting.

I smelt this in store and it just smells so off putting. I thought this would be great because it has to do with purple and peony is one of the notes. I was so disappointed

This smells SO 2000's. I'm dressed up in my low-rise jeans, henley shirt, and raccoon eyeliner to go shopping at Hot Topic. I'm reminded a lot of Coco Mademoiselle line, specifically the Intense version, which I find very heavy in the patchouli department. And I LOVE patchouli, so that's no problem. Black Amethyst smells like the mall but also kind of luxe, which made me hesitate at the cash register because if I want to smell luxe, I literally have hundreds of other fancy perfumes, so why choose this one? Well, I haven't had the desire to pull the trigger on Coco Mlle so I guess this one will do. It is slightly sweet but heavy on the patchouli. Woody, fruity (though no fruits are listed) and deep but not super syrupy, which I appreciate. This is probably the most "interesting" B&BW scent I own, a total departure from their regular fun and happy and gourmand offerings. It smells a bit masculine on me considering today's climate of hyper-feminine Sephora fragrances, which I'm fine with. You'll like this if you love patchouli. What a wonderful revival scent from the vault!

I have the square top bottle of this and it smells a lot like my mum's perfumes. It's dark, rich, heavy and mature. The patchouli is strong. I cannot detect any peony in here, only the other notes as they are usually potent. All I can say is that this is not for people who like light fragrances as this is the exact opposite. It's got that spice and sexiness and smells expensive. Something that can be worn in a formal setting or a date night, but not during daytime.

Saw this today at B&BW and was immediately allured by the dark decor. Put on some and immediately was transported to 2012 again. Wow! Patchouli frangrances are already quite comforting to me since they were at once very popular. Also the peony and amber makes it smell sweet when the initial scent wears down. Just wish it lasted longer.
